Smon: Smon: The King waves Daximus over, the elf princess close by. Kjato Ragfoot: I assume they do not know the new slave is the princess. Smon: Frandal: "Daximus! Our friends here are heading north, to the realm of the Black Sun. I'm sure you have much to tell them..." Smon: Daximus eyes you all, gaze settling on the elf scout. "Feani. Long time no see." Smon: Feani regards him icily. "Daximus."
chris107: We need to find out what the princess was doing with Morthor
Smon: At Frandal's urging the dwarf scout sits at your table, the elf slave-princess kneeling behind.
Smon: Hakeem whispers to his companions.
Amalric: (haven't read Sunday's game report, what happened?)
chris107: We got to the dwarf hold
chris107: and the scout
chris107: the cigar smoking one
chris107: turned up with the kidnapped princess
chris107: Turns out he 'found' her at Gate Castle
chris107: Morthor's place where we are heading to finish the black sun!
Amalric: and you havent killed him....why?
chris107: We are in the dwarf kings hall.
chris107: But if you want?....
Amalric: excuses!
Kjato Ragfoot: Somehow, Hakeem showed signs of pacifism.
Kjato Ragfoot: Must be after effects of staying with Lady Meda in Thusa.
Smon: Daximus lights up a cigar. "Aye, I am but lately returned from exploring the lightless tunnels beneath the Gate Castle, where I found this prize wandering... She had escaped the slave pens, where she was due to be sacrificed to power their cursed Portal."
Amalric: need to cure him of that!
chris107: "You know who this is?"
Kjato Ragfoot: Her escape right into your arms might not be as random as you believe.
Smon: (Bill says to kidnap the dwarf, ask him for directions, and keep him til you get to the castle)
chris107: (He is wise beyond his years!  )
Kjato Ragfoot: We have reasons to believe she was shoved into your arms by the Black Sun to endanger this very realm.
Kjato Ragfoot: (I am opposed to kidnapped any dwarves. To grumpy. Better kidnap some hot chicks)
Smon: Daximus looks puzzled: "Shoved into my arms? Nay, I found her by my own skill..." Thuruar make Cha check.
Kjato Ragfoot rolls 1d20+2 and gets: 13, (+2) = 15
Smon: Daximus looks a bit uncertain.
Smon: He looks to Hakeem. "Valadai of Anatal is her name; a princess until captured by slavers in service to the Black Sun."
chris107: H nods. At least he knows
Amalric: "And a princess she should be again."
chris107: It will be the clever ones who sort this out.
Smon: Daximus shrugs: "Aye, perhaps I'll sell her back to the elves again, once I tire of her... but she has her attractions." Feani glares daggers at him.
Kjato Ragfoot: You should know she is missed by your neighbour, queen Cildarith of the elves.
Smon: King Frandal: "Methinks, Daximus, 'tis time to open negotiations with Anatal for the sale of your prize."
Smon: Daximus shrugs, then bows. "As your Majesty says. Of course, negotiations can be lengthy."
Smon: Frandal turns to Thuruar. "Tell me what you know of the Black Sun's plans, wise one."
chris107: "Or very short." Rumbles Hakeem
Amalric: settle in for a long night
Kjato Ragfoot: The Black Sun's goal is mainly to rule the world and form it in the likeness of Nerath.
Kjato Ragfoot: On the long run, everything not Nerath will have to go.
Kjato Ragfoot: Just two days ago, an agent of the Black Sun assassinated an archmage in the Conclave of Laer.
Kjato Ragfoot: Them letting one of your best scouts "finding" the princess of a neighbouring realm is probably not a coincident - they have been testing the strength of your border for a long time,
Kjato Ragfoot: Your land is richt, they want it.
chris107: "Aye and a good friend."
Kjato Ragfoot: And a war against the elves would not only distract you, but also make it difficult for you to gain supplies.
Smon: Frandal strokes his long beard. "I had not considered this possibility... "
Smon: "...And that they strike against our allies, the Halls of the Laer, shows that they have grown bold."
Amalric: Rey nudges Hakeem. "Thuruar is a clever chap, isn't he?"
chris107: Hakeem grins back at Rey. "Indeed he is."
Smon: Feani the elf scout nods. "Your majesty, if you would allow us to return the princess to Anatal, war could be averted."
Smon: Frandal nods. "Hmm... Perhaps an exchange of gifts, Daximus?"
Smon: The dwarf scout looks sour.
Smon: Daximus looks at Thuruar. "I doubt you have any jewels with you to match this prize!"
Smon: ooc Would help if you guys tracked your treasure.
chris107: Hakeem has never held any treasure.
Kjato Ragfoot: Thuruar turns to Daximus. "I already see it before me, Daximus, hero of Anatal, rescuer of Princess Valadai."
Smon: I think all your magic gear is on your PC sheets, except the elven cloaks.
Amalric: we never seem to have that much
Amalric: too busy rescuing damsels
Kjato Ragfoot: (As a matter of fact, we do not have any jewels, as we did hardly take any treasure from the dragon turtle for ourselves)
Kjato Ragfoot: (Just a couple coins as pocket money for the journey)
Amalric: Rey gave what he had to the stone giantesses
Smon: Alicia: "I have some spell scrolls from the Hall of the Laer?"
chris107: H has never had more than 10GP
Kjato Ragfoot: The only treasure we have are the potions from the Dragon Turtle and the Bronze Breastplate.
chris107: The breastplate would suite him well
Smon: Daximus: "Dwarves are not wizards! I tell ye what - return to Anatal, tell them they may have their princess for ten thousand gold... And no need to hurry." He grins wickedly.
chris107: "Be carful of avarice Daximus."
chris107: "This is not a matter for jest."
Smon: "I ain't kidding."
Kjato Ragfoot: Daximus, we are just diplomats. We had a hard time to prevent the elves declaring war on the dwarves right there and then, giving you a chance to return the princess peacefully.
chris107: "And make not an enemy of Altania. Or the Slayer."
Kjato Ragfoot: If you truly want that money, bring the princess back herself and present yourself as her rescuer.
Amalric: "By all means war against the elves, knock lumps out of each other, great swathes of blood and death...over which Nerath will march and conquer you all, and you will spend the rest of your lives as slaves or sacrifices. Great choice."
chris107: H nods at Reys (unexpecatadly) wise words
Kjato Ragfoot: Be called the black dwarf, who brought down the demise of Elves and Dwarfs alike. Whose name is only whispered as a cruse.
Smon: A richly-garbed dwarf to the king's left speaks up: "We do not fear the Elves of Anatal! They are far away, and weak. Your Majesty, if we had fear war with anyone, 'tis Nerath. They control our export routes..."
chris107: "FOOLISH WORDS!"
Smon: Hakeem make Intimidate roll.
chris107: what do I add?
chris107: 4+1 Cha?
Smon: yes
chris107 rolls 1d20+5 and gets: 6, (+5) = 11
Amalric: ugh
chris107: pfffff
Kjato Ragfoot: And Nerath for some reason let a slave stumble into the arms of your mast famous scout, and a scout that would surely ensure your distraction and isolation in any conflict with Nerath. If you war with the elves, you are completely at the mercy of the Nerathi, nothing more than a puppet. They could strangle you with just a tax on dwarven imports.
chris107: Out with the sword then I guess.
chris107: H lets Thur try again. If it fails he will kill the loud mouth and the slave taker
chris107: He doesn't need to roll to intimidate
Smon: The dwarves look angry. The new speaker retorts to Hakeem: "Have a care, human! I am Rimlin Asthur, Grand Maestre of the Ironmasters, and will not be addressed so!"
Kjato Ragfoot: If you have peace with the elves, there is still a route into the east open, toward the City State and the sea.
chris107: H grins bloodthirstily
Smon: Frandal: "The safe river-route east is also controlled by Nerath. The highland road via the Laer Hall is too dangerous for any but swift scouts..."
Smon: The dwarven high priestess Hanil leans over and whispers in the king's ear. He nods.
Amalric: "We seek to strike a blow against Nerath, else all these lands are doomed. You seem more eager to war with a traditional enemy, feed your prejudices, and miss what is staring you in the face. You need to break free of Nerath, work with the Elves, not against them."
Smon: Frandal: "This is my decision. Tomorrow you will return to Anatal and tell them we will trade their princess for ten thousand gold. Anatal can well afford that."
chris107: "Bah, they have no balls to face the necromancers of Nerath."
chris107: "Let them walk as zombies."
Smon: Frandal turns to Hakeem: "You, however, had best spend the night outside our gates."
Amalric: "Tomorrow? Is it on our way back? Because I'm not trekking out of my way on a lost cause."
chris107: H makes to leave
Smon: Two of the dwarven Clan Guard move to escort Hakeem from the Hall.
Smon: Feani: "I will go with him. I have no desire to remain here."
Amalric: "Me too. Thuruar?"
Smon: She stands. Laara: "Me too." She joins Feani & Rey.
chris107: "They will speak loud of the dwarves and their courage in the war against the Nerathi."
Smon: Alicia sighs: "I hate camping..." she stands.
Kjato Ragfoot: Yes. We should leave and bring the message to the elves quickly.
chris107: "Release the priincess Daximus. Or face the blade of th slayer."
Amalric: how secure are these halls?
Smon: It's a large dwarf fortress, you passed through several tunnels & halls to get here.
chris107: H stalks out
Smon: They seem to have lots of plate-armoured halberd-wielding elite guards.
Amalric: guess a rescue is out of the question
Kjato Ragfoot: We won't attack the dwarfs.
Kjato Ragfoot: But we will take over Nerath and tax them out of existence.
Smon:
Amalric: LOL nice idea!
chris107:
chris107: H has taken agin the Dwarves.
chris107: "Thur , Rey you have a way with words. Get that little shit bDaximus to grow a pair and come out of his rat hole to face me."
Smon: Six Dwarf Clanguard escort the six of you out of the feast hall, down steps to a long hallway, up more steps, through double doors, out into a courtyard...
Smon: Daximus doesn't seem inclined to fight Hakeem.
chris107: Like I said. Little shit
Kjato Ragfoot: Well, Daximus is just a spoiled child. He will have to leave the dwarven halls at some time and we will be there waiting for him.
Smon: A chill mountain wind is blowing as the dwarves have your horses summoned, then you are escorted out a postern gate.
Amalric: Rey could have freed the princess and smuggled her out, with or without killing Daximus
Smon: A narrow mountain trail winds down the hillside towards the distant forest.
Amalric: although Thief rolls tend not to go so well
Kjato Ragfoot: Yes. He could have. That was my plan.
chris107: Still?
Amalric: I tried some stuff like that on the docks in Ahyf, didnt get very far
Smon: Feani sighs. "I can take word back to Anatal, if you want to continue north and try to close the Gate?"
chris107: H thinks that wise
Amalric: "Shall we do that? We can deal with these buggers on the way back."
chris107: "Will you pass these lands safely Feani? You have proved a true friend."
Smon: Feani smiles: "Thanks, Hakeem. I wish I could help more... "
Amalric: is Amdor still with us? what happened to his big gob this time?
Smon:
Smon: *sigh*
chris107: "If the princess is not released we will bring the very mountains down on the heads of these dwarves."
Smon: (Amdor had his throat slit by an assassin, possibly Nerathi)
chris107: "Amdor was murdered Rey"
Kjato Ragfoot: I can send the Elven High Priestess a message tomorrow morning.
Kjato Ragfoot: Do you know your way through Chanochdan? We could use a scout.
Amalric: (good!)
Amalric: (might have been Rey *cackles*)
chris107: "I and use those magical stones to tell Altania of the cowerdice of the dwarves"
Amalric: (I did wonder about the slain archmage mentioned earlier)
Kjato Ragfoot: You can only use those stones to speak with Sarene.
Kjato Ragfoot: (Yep. That was Amdor the Great)
Kjato Ragfoot: (He died a great Archwizard)
Smon: Feani: "I know the way north from here as far as Kukul, a goblin fortress on the south frontier of Morthor Coff's domain."
chris107: Sarene will spread word. Tell all that Daximus will not come from his rat hole."
Amalric: wait a second
Amalric: Rey and a couple of Elven Cloaks... could have gotten the princess out
Amalric: drat
chris107: (we'll fettle the little beast's reputation  )
chris107: Yeah sorry guys. Should have stuck with Kjato's plan. My fault
Smon: Feani braces her shoulders. "I've come to see, we have to defeat Nerath. If you can send word to Queen Cildarith fr. Thuruar, I'll come with you to the Gate Castle. I'll pay them back for Rythalin..." (ooc her mentor, killed by Nerathi)
Kjato Ragfoot: (Don't be sorry. Yours was a good plan, just the execution was poorly)
Smon: (Yeah Hakeem did screw it up - maybe should have left him outside).
Smon: (Bill says sneak in, take back princess, sneak out - if you get caught kill them or pay them to keep mouth shut)
Amalric: just what I was thinking!
chris107: (KILL THEM!)
Kjato Ragfoot: I know a spell that let's me communicate with the Queen in Anatal for a short time.
Amalric: you guys create a diversion, Rey sneaks in does the job, sneaks back out with princess - simples!
chris107: go for it guys. H is ready to storm the dwarf fortress if not
chris107: H could start shouting out challanges?
Smon: Feani leads you downslope to a secluded dell where you can camp (if desired).
chris107: King, Rimlin, Daximus, their champion?
chris107: All of 'em!
Smon: Getting Bill to bed now - hopefully restart in 30 minutes.
Kjato Ragfoot: Feani knows the dwarven city, would there be a way for Rey to sneak in?
Smon: She's only been in under escort, like you.
Amalric: 30 mins is fine, get my young un to bed too
Amalric: is there a time limit on Invis with Elven Cloaks in 5E?
Kjato Ragfoot: I believe they do not truly turn your invisible, just give you advantage on stealth checks.,
chris107: You can do it Rey!
Amalric: yes, figured it would be something useless like that
chris107: If you get captured Rey. Hakeem will storm the fortress.
Kjato Ragfoot: Why? We simply let the elves pay and go on our merry way.
Amalric: lets leave them to sort it out among them, say I. just dont tell Feani
chris107: H wants blood
chris107: He wants the dwarven halls running with rivers of blood
Kjato Ragfoot: Secretly, you pray to Khorne instead of Bondarr?
chris107: hehe
Kjato Ragfoot: Once we took the Black Sun out,. we will convince the free Nerathi that a high luxury tax on dwarven goods is necessary to restore their realms greatness.
Kjato Ragfoot: You can then cause a bloodbath among desperate dwarves trying to fight their routes free.
chris107: I like that idea. Hakeem would not
chris107: The former
chris107: Are we still live?
Kjato Ragfoot: Basically, we need to stop the Nerathi Imperial ambitions so that our characters can conquer their own little fiefdom.
Kjato Ragfoot: Hmm. Unsure. When did Smon leave?
chris107: Just wanted to make sure connection hadn't dropped again
chris107: Hakeem really wants to crush the neo-Nerathi, the Dwarves, the Red Reavers and then The CSIO.
Kjato Ragfoot: That probably will change once he meets the World Emperor, because then he will want to crush him too.
chris107: Oh yes. Good idea
Kjato Ragfoot: I still thank Hakeem would make a good god of battle lust.
chris107: Thanks
chris107: at 20th level he may try.
Amalric: heh, worth a shot!
chris107: Yeah. Go for it Rey. Rescue the princess. She will be VERY grateful
Kjato Ragfoot: WEll, but according to custom who saves the princess gets half a kingdom. What is Rey going to do with that?
chris107: Sell it for more slaves?
Kjato Ragfoot: That would be boring.
Smon: back
chris107: excellent
Smon: Bill still awake, mind you
Smon: We have the sleepy music on.
chris107: Gin?
Kjato Ragfoot: Morphium.
Amalric: then Dad falls asleep while the kid is still awake!
Smon: Bill says No Way to drugs & whisky!
Smon: I fancy a whisky - brb...
Amalric: remind him of that when he's 16
chris107: It's better than the big hammer.
Smon: bill says i have a long way to go befor i am 16
chris107: haha
Kjato Ragfoot: We do not know how old Bill is.
Smon: (Bill got hold of computer)
Amalric: 17
Smon: (he's
Smon: 8
Kjato Ragfoot: That is already half way to 16.
chris107: Yup. Almost there.
Smon: (Bill says to go along with Hakeem's plan - kill everything)
chris107: (Sensible man)
Smon: GM: Are you camping outside overnight?
Smon: (Bill says Thuruar should go along with Hakeem's plan, he's the best)
chris107: Unless Rey is going in to rescue the princess
Amalric: I think its too risky
chris107: Not for Rey the heroic rescuer of princesses in peril!
Amalric: 1E elven cloaks gave up to 95% invisibility, 5e won't be the same
chris107: She's very purty Rey...
Kjato Ragfoot: The princess is not that important.
Amalric: hold on Thuruar, Hakeem made a good point
Kjato Ragfoot: We can always return to her later, once we got turned into undead after failing greatly in our attempt against the Nerathi.
chris107: Okay. Lets crack on and sort out the Dark Sun.
chris107: "Let's go kill us some Nerathi!"
Smon: GM: OK, you rest overnight in the mountain dell.
9:51pm  2015-12-16 Eliana Has entered the room
chris107: Hi Eli
Eliana:
Eliana: Hi!
Amalric:
chris107: H is half expecting Daximus to make a sneak night attack.
Smon: Bill says - Plan:  (& I am not forwarding any more Bill plans!)
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 2,
Smon: For once you don't get attacked...
chris107: Yay
Smon: Next morning the day dawns grey and overcast.
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 1,
Smon: And raining.
chris107: H hands his wolf cloak to Laara
Smon: "Thanks Hakeem." Is Thuruar Sending to Queen Cildarith?
chris107: H thinks he should
Smon: (Hi Eli)
Kjato Ragfoot: Yes. Thuruar is Sending to Queen Cildarith. "The dwarves demand 10.000 gold ransom. They are afraid of the Nerathi isolating them. Nerath controls all usable routes to dwarf kingdom."
chris107: "Let's make haste to Gate Castle!"
Smon: Thuruar gets a response. "Thank you."
Smon: GM: You pack up, ready your horses, and ride north along the eastern slopes of Mt Chacban.
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 5,
Kjato Ragfoot: Remember, only one communication spell per day. I can only speak with the dead tomorrow again.
Amalric: lucky you
Smon: The winding trail runs north twenty miles or so. You see a few signs of dwarven habitation, mine workings and farms, mostly sheep ranches.
Smon: That afternoon you leave the mountain behind, your route bending north-west and down into the broad green expanses of the northern Lagoldurma Jungle.
Smon: The air here is warm and humid; iridescent parakeets flit from bough to bough.
chris107: Hakeem likes the pretty birds.
chris107: Maybe he should kill one and take it back as a present for Malenn?
Kjato Ragfoot: I am sure Malenn would prepare it alive.
chris107: mmmmm
chris107: "Onwards then."
chris107: H soon forgets the pretty birds
Smon: Feani stops to take her bearings: "We should hit the Strantath road north of Kukul... this is as far north as I've come. I know the river Greyrush runs through Morthor Coff's domain; crossing it won't be easy."
Amalric: "Fast flowing, is it?"
Kjato Ragfoot: We can always conquer a bridge, Hakeem would like to do that.
Smon: Ahead through the trees you see a tumbledown, long-abandoned hovel beneath a hilly overhang.
Smon: Feani nods, eyeing the ruin ahead.
chris107: H brightens
Kjato Ragfoot: Is there anything wrong with the hovel?
Smon: You have a sense as if something is watching you from the ruin.
chris107: (OOC didn't the last daft barbarian in your game die on a bridge?)
Smon: The stones are heavily overgrown with vegetation, but the slate roof seems largely intact.
Smon: (yes)
chris107: (  )
Smon: /roll d20
Smon rolls 1d20 and gets: 11,
chris107: "Who watches drom within?!"
Smon: You spot a very large feather on the ground outside the hovel, and debris scattered around - lots of bones, of cabybara and other animals, and some small humanoid bones - goblins?
Smon: "WH-OOOOO?" comes from within.
chris107: from
chris107: There must be treasure coming up
Smon: "T-WIT-WH-OOOO?" comes the ghostly sound again.
Amalric: "The ghost of an owl!"
chris107: H looks confused.
Smon: (Bill finally asleep!)
chris107: He loosens Bloodletter just in case and gets his shield onto his arm.
chris107: (Yay)
Smon: /roll d20
chris107: H nudges his horse forward
Smon rolls 1d20 and gets: 3,
Amalric: Rey investigates
chris107: "Hello!"
Amalric: he approaches the house slowly, unarmed
Smon: Feani frowns, readying her bow.
Kjato Ragfoot: Thuruar will follow Rey and Hakeem.
Amalric: "Greetings, stranger! We would like to borrow a cup of sugar!"
chris107: hahahahah
chris107: that made my laugh outloud Graham!
Amalric:
Smon: Rey creeps closer. Through the dark entranceway he makes out what looks like a very large nest, on which sit two enormous owls, larger than men.
Smon: They regard Rey sceptically. "WH-OOO?"
Amalric: "It is a pair of owls, best tread carefully."
chris107: Ah, mighty and noble creatures
Amalric: Rey backs away, smiling, slowly
Smon: The owls swivel their heads at Rey.
chris107: H relaxes.
Smon: Feani relaxes slightly. "The giant owls are friends of the Elves, but best not approach too close..."
Smon: She calls out to the Owls in Elvish. They wh-oo back at her.
Amalric: "Just what I was thinking. They're smarter than me...but then again, so are the rocks."
chris107: hehe
Smon: Feani: "I asked them if Goblins are nearby... I think they said yes."
chris107: "Let us leave these wonderful creatures in peace. Unless they need our help?"
Amalric: "Tell them we will hunt down any goblins we find."
Smon: Feani calls out to them again, then shakes her head. "I think they're fine, but are nesting - they have an egg."
Kjato Ragfoot: Well, then wish them good luck with their children.
chris107: "Maybe we could kill all the Goblins?" asks H hopefully
Amalric: "Of course," replies Rey cheerily
Kjato Ragfoot: Then the poor owl babies would starve?
chris107: "Ah  "
Kjato Ragfoot: We could kill some goblins and leave them for the owls?
Smon: Feani: "Maybe... Last I heard, Morthor Coff had overthrown the old goblin chief and put one of his wizards in charge... Come."
Smon: She turns away.
Amalric: Rey follows along
chris107: Lets kill the wizard then!
Smon: /roll d6
Kjato Ragfoot: Oh. We could kill the wizard.
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 1,
Smon: /roll d20
Smon rolls 1d20 and gets: 11,
Smon: You press on through the forest, which thins slightly.
Smon: Dusk gathers, a steady rain still falling.
Smon: Then, cresting a rise, you see many lights in the distance ahead, some miles off - a small town, perhaps.
Smon: Feani points: "Kukul - city of the Goblins."
chris107: Grrrrrrrrrrr.......
Amalric: "Field day for owls."
chris107: As much as it hurts..
Smon: Feani: "Goblin patrols will be roaming abroad... We had best not camp until we've cleared the area."
chris107: "Any way we can pass?"
Kjato Ragfoot: Perhaps there is a Goblin resistance we can join to kill that wizard and reinstate the old chief?
10:25pm  2015-12-16 Eliana Has exited the room
Amalric: Goblin underworld?
chris107: "Yes! Kill the wizard!"
Smon: She points to her right. "That way, north-west. When we reach the road we can follow it..." She nods to Thuruar. "Aye. Norsho the Old Chief still lives, they say."
Smon: "But he's still a Goblin."
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 4,
Kjato Ragfoot: And he could trouble the Nerathi, forcing them to withdraw troops from the Ghinarian Hills, giving the Altanians a fighting chance.
chris107: "Goblins are scum. But they are clean scum."
Smon: Alicia wraps her cloak about her miserably. "I like it better when we were staying in Elf palaces..."
chris107: "Unlike the filthy Nerathi necromancers and the cowardly dwarves."
Amalric: "Fair point, my dear. Let us move on quickly."
Smon: A little uncertain now, Feani leads you downslope and into the gloomy forest.
chris107: H makes sure Bloodletter is to hand and his shield handy
Smon: Many of the trees here seem twisted and half-rotten, as if corrupted by the Goblin presence - or by the Black Sun?
Smon: /roll d20
Smon rolls 1d20 and gets: 15,
Kjato Ragfoot: Let's pile all guilt on the Black Sun.
Kjato Ragfoot: It is useful.
chris107:
Amalric: heh, indeed
Smon: Feani leads you true, and after an hour or so you come out onto the side of an ancient raised roadway that cuts through the dense jungle.
Smon: You've travelled around 45 miles today through rough terrain; you and your horses are getting pretty fatigued.
Smon: Feani points right. "This way."
chris107: Aye. That's a long way in foul weather.
Smon: She leads her horse up onto the road.
Kjato Ragfoot: We should rest soon.
Smon: Feani: "They say the Kelnorans first built these roads, four thousand years ago..."
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 3,
chris107: that's a big number for H to grasp
Kjato Ragfoot: That was a long time ago. They must have been excellent engineers.
chris107: (Simon! What's happened to your 6's? It must be Christmas  )
Amalric: or great magicians
Amalric: LOL Chris
Smon: There's a slight acrid tang in the air. Feani's nose wrinkles. To Hakeem & Thuruar it smells a little like that red dragon they battled...
chris107: "Dragon?!"
chris107: "Excellent!"
Kjato Ragfoot: Bah.
Smon: Reaching the top of the road, you see the far side. A line of enormous deep dragon-like footprints parrallel the road.
chris107: H is noticably more cheerful at the thought of Dragon slaying
Smon: Feani: "Some great beast was here, not long ago. Two-legged, I think..."
Smon: "Perhaps this explains the lack of goblins in the vicinity..."
Amalric: "Two-legged dragons? Interesting..."
Smon: GM: You can press on north through the night - you'll need to walk the horses - or follow the tracks?
Amalric: walk the horses
chris107: Tracks!
Kjato Ragfoot: Walk the horses.
Amalric: HORSES
chris107:
chris107: grumble-grumble
chris107: okay horses
Smon: Feani eyes the forest nervously: "We're in its territory - if it's hungry, our horses will likely draw it..."

chris107: "Ah you are indeed wise Thur!"
Smon: /roll d20
Smon rolls 1d20 and gets: 1,
Amalric: hopefully all of its attack rolls are like that

Smon: The horses whinny in terror, starting.
chris107: Haha!
chris107:
chris107: H leaps from his horse and attacks
Amalric: Hakeem on stilts?
Smon: Some kind of great bipedal dragon, tiny forearms and huge slavery jaws...
chris107: rolling and dodging any troublsome fiery breath
chris107: (You're bad Graham  )
Smon: GM: Is Hakeem running down off the raised roadway to attack it from the ground?

Amalric: "Spread out!"
chris107: aah okay. rage then berserk next round
Amalric: (in case it does breathe fire)
Smon: You can rage while running at it, but risk losing rage.
Smon: Hakeem leaps down from the road and runs at it.
Amalric: no point in throwing a dagger at this beast
chris107: No, I'll rage when within range
Amalric: Rey follows
Kjato Ragfoot: Let's simply wait here till it rushes as. Prepare for its onslaught and stash at it when it is running.
Smon: Alicia casts a second mage armour at Rey (she does one every morning)
Kjato Ragfoot: Thuruar will shake his head and follow as well.
Smon: Thuruar and Rey follow Hakeem down onto the spongy ground.
Smon: Laara keeps the horses under control, while Feani draws back her bow and looses two shots at it...
chris107: "Yeehaa!"

Smon: Rey stabs the beast twice as Thuruar paralyses it.
Smon: Rey can roll sneak dmg

chris107: close
Kjato Ragfoot rolls 1d20+5 and gets: 11, (+5) = 16
Smon: Pass (also I think barbs get advtg vs visible DEX saves)
Smon: Thuruar was not in melee.
chris107: ah yes. Thanks
Amalric: shall we inspect its intestines for loot?
Smon: The monster crashes to the floor. You hear hooting noises from the forest, excited monkeys perhaps.
Kjato Ragfoot: Ah. True, I never got a chance to close in on it.
chris107: YES
Smon: 3 in 6 gullet has loot...
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 2,
Smon:
chris107: Maybe follow it's huge tracks back to it's lair?
Amalric: ooh, +6 rapier in its throat!

Smon: Searching through the remains you find a couple semi-digested money pouches, with 90 Gold ,7 brown jasper worth 50 gp each, 6 azurite worth 10 gp each.
Smon: So 500gp of loot.
Amalric: not quite 10,000 gold, is it?
Smon: You might want to have someone take & record it for future bribery.
chris107: Just done it
Kjato Ragfoot: (Thuruar will keep notes)
Kjato Ragfoot: Double accounting usually does not hurt either.
Smon: Feani recovers her arrows from the monster. "We should get going."
chris107: true
Amalric: lets
chris107: Yes Morthor Coff is waiting
chris107: And we can make camp away from this huge draw to pesky predetors
Smon: GM: You return to the road and continue north at walking pace - at least the ancient surface is firm.
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 6,
Smon: heh
Amalric: quick walking pace
Amalric: not quick enough
chris107: now he gets the 6!
Smon: You've gone about ten miles north and Feani is casting around for a place to make camp off the road, when...
Amalric: late Xmas gift
Smon: /roll d9
Smon rolls 1d9 and gets: 6
Smon: A shining white horse emerges from the trees, whinnies! From its brow protrudes a straight horn - a unicorn!
Smon: (OOC I don't believe it!)
chris107: WOW!
Smon: (I think that was the only friendly critter on the chart!)
Kjato Ragfoot: Oh! Ah!
Smon: Feani: "Unicorn! Elf-friend! I am Feani!" she smiles broadly, raising a hand in greeting.
chris107: Any virgins around?
Smon: The unicorn whinnies, raising a hoof, then turns its head, indicating for you to follow.
Smon: Feani looks at Hakeem and blushes.
Kjato Ragfoot: (Only Thuruar)
chris107: Lets follow
Kjato Ragfoot: (Feani was de-virginized by Amdors powerful magic)
chris107: H likes spikey horses
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 6,
Smon: (Yep)
Smon: Laara: "Er..."
chris107: crips, should have kept my mouth shut about 6's
Smon: Those rumours about Laara and the boy from the next tent were apparently true.
chris107: oops
Amalric: she a tart too?
Smon: Anyway you don't need to ride the unicorn, you can follow it with your horses as it leads you down a hidden path, through a fern-shrouded cave entrance into a grotto.
Smon: Light glitters from the crystal cave. Squeaky high-pitched voices come from all around you: "Welcome big ones!" "Hi!" "Hello!"
Kjato Ragfoot: Hello!
chris107: Hello
Smon: Three little faeries suddenly appear, perched atop stalagmites or standing in the pool.
Smon: They wave cheerily.
Smon: "We're pixies! Hello!"
Kjato Ragfoot: Thuruar waves back.
Amalric: if there's a fat man with a white beard dressed in red I'm gonna punch him
Smon: /roll d6x3
Smon Rolls 1d6x3 and gets:
4 = 4
4 = 4
4 = 4
chris107: haha
Smon: They seem to be all girls.
Kjato Ragfoot: We are humans. Hallo!
Smon: Feani: "H-hello, little ones? May we rest in your cave?"
Smon: "Hello humans! Hello elf! Welcome to our cave!"
Smon: The unicorn looks to the pixies, nods.
Kjato Ragfoot: A nice cave you have.
Smon: "Greymane says you can stay here! Be welcome!"
chris107: Lovely
Smon: "Have a bath! Water's lovely! You're very muddy!"
Kjato Ragfoot: Oh. That is a welcome offer indeed.
Amalric: Rey needs no second invitation, strips off and eases himself in
Smon: Alicia dips a toe in the crystal grotto's pool. "Hmm... it's warm."
Amalric: to the pool
Kjato Ragfoot: Thuruar will also quickly go into the pool.
Smon: Alicia grins, turns away to undress & slips in beside Rey. "mmmm..."
chris107: Even H, covered in T-Rex gore. Decides a bath will be welcome
Smon: "That's the spirit! Get that gunk off you! You too elf!"
Smon: Feani looks at the chirpy pixies.
chris107: He keeps an eye on Bloodletter however
Smon: "You're quite smelly for an elf! Better get clean!"
Smon: Feani frowns, but undresses and gets in the pool, now quite crowded as Laara gets in too.
Smon: The mineral-rich waters feel amazing (get 10 hp & 1 healing die back)
Amalric: "Now this is what I call a party!"
Amalric: "All we need now is some wine!"
chris107: 115/125
Smon: The unicorn, Greymane, moves outside - he seems to be chatting with your horses.
Kjato Ragfoot: Hakeem, do you want to relay a message to Malenn? I can cast sending once more today and we probably do not need it any more tonight.
Smon: Alicia: "mmm... this is more like it."
Smon: Laara nods.
chris107: Thur. Yes please. Tell her I love her and hope her and child are doing well?
Smon: Feani: "Yes... I think this may be the last nice place we'll see, though..."
Kjato Ragfoot: Sending to Malenn "Greetings from Hakeem. He loves you and hopes you and the child are well."
chris107:
Amalric: I need to go
chris107: G'night Graham
Amalric: its late and work has been hell recently, likely no change tomorrow
chris107: Last game of the year?
chris107: IUf so. Have a great Christmas and New Year Graham
Smon: "Tell Hakeem I love him too - I think I felt the baby..."
Amalric: thanks all, always a pleasure! A merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you
chris107: H wipes away a tear
Kjato Ragfoot: Thuruar will relay that message to Hakeem.
Smon: Happy Xmas everyone - next game is last Thursday in December, ok?
Amalric: think I can make that
chris107: Let me check Simon
Smon: OOC I suspect things will soon get much tougher.
Amalric: night
Kjato Ragfoot: All right. Happy Christmas everyone! Good night!
chris107: New years eve?
11:31pm  2015-12-16 Amalric Has exited the room
chris107: That's me out I'm afraid
11:31pm  2015-12-16 Kjato Ragfoot Has exited the room
Smon: Sounds right.
chris107: Happy Christmas Kjato
Smon: ok, will post to thread.
chris107: Party planned for that night I'm afraid
Smon: Good night chris
Smon: Don't feel bad.
chris107: Cheers Simon. G'night

7:03pm  2015-12-13 chris107 Has entered the room
chris107: Hi Simon
Smon: Hi chris
7:06pm  2015-12-13 chris107 Has entered the room
Smon: Hello again
chris107: Blinking interwebs
7:07pm  2015-12-13 Kjato Ragfoot Has entered the room
Kjato Ragfoot: Hello!
chris107: Hi Kjato
Smon: Hi Kjato!
chris107: H wants to get the horrid breastplate off his hands
Kjato Ragfoot: Thuruar wants that horrid wound of his arm.
chris107: quite right.
chris107: Simon. I didn't quite figure out where we ended up?
Kjato Ragfoot: Basically in some kind of sorcerors conclave?
Smon: >>Smon: You approach the ancient palace-fortress; a horn blows from the watchers on the walls high above. Smon: Feani whispers: "The mages of Karak who dwell here are friendly... One thing. Do not reveal you are a Priest, Fr Thuruar - they believe all Clerical magic is the work of Demons..." Smon: You draw up before the high double gates. Feani calls up: "Feani of Onhir, with travellers - we have come far, Panti Chakar! Please let us in!" chris107: Has Thur started growing thick dark hair yet? Kjato Ragfoot: He always had thick dark hair. You just could not see it due to the helmet. chris107: hehe chris107: here he is Smon: Feani whispers: "Panti Chakar is the wizard who commands the defences... the head of the Conclave is Dasmela Evli." Smon: After a short time the gates open; a colourfully garbed and turbaned brown-skinned man beckons you in, smiling: "Welcome! Come in! How was the journey?" Smon: Feani: "There was a battle - my friends have slain many of the Gungli Ma." Smon: The man smiles broadly. "Excellent news! I am Panti Chakar, and who might you be, noble travellers?" Smon: (will stop in a couple mins) chris107: "Hakeem Greywolf." Smon: "Greywolf! An Altanian! Excellent!" Kjato Ragfoot: Thuruar. Smon: "Thuruar? Excellent!" Smon: /roll d6 Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 5, Smon: "Come on in, all of you! Bathe and wash your wounds before dinner!" chris107: "Thankyou!"<<
chris107: Let me see if I can find it on the map
Smon: GM: Entering the courtyard of the Hall of the Laer you dismount, servants lead away your horses and Panti Chakar escorts you to a washroom where dusky maids wash you and clean your wounds.
Smon: (It's not even on the GM's map! It's hex 2610 Altanis FWIW)
chris107: (That's why I couldn't find it!  )
Smon: The palace is clearly ancient, with seemingly endless pillared halls and winding passages. Feani explains that this Conclave of wizards and their retinue are exiles from far-off Karak, where they are hunted for their beliefs - that wizardry is the only way to reach the gods and Clerical magic is demonic in nature.
chris107: mmmmm
Smon: Once this fortress palace was the dwelling of the Hanuman-worshipping Crazed Cultists of Gungli Ma, but the Karakan wizards allied with the Dwarves of Chacban to drive them out.
Kjato Ragfoot: So, they are probably not liking Thuruar to much?
Smon: Feani told Thuruar not to reveal his Clerical nature.
chris107: Perhaps they can tell us more of the cult?
chris107: And the wounds/armour we have?
Smon: Thuruar's bite is itching.
Smon: You can take a Short Rest & spend HD.
chris107: Okay
Smon: Hakeem is down 20, Thuruar down 48(!)
chris107: 2 dice
Kjato Ragfoot: No. I healed myself after the fight.
Smon: ok
chris107 rolls 2d12+10 and gets: 7, 5, (+10) = 22
chris107: back to full
Smon: Hakeem feels fine.
chris107: and recover 1 berserk
Kjato Ragfoot: 42/66 hp
7:20pm  2015-12-13 Rinrevnik Has entered the room
chris107: Hi Rin
Kjato Ragfoot: Oh. Wait. That is still 24 down.-
Rinrevnik: Mind if i lurk?
chris107: no problem from me. Simon's game
Rinrevnik: Greetings Chris, group
Smon: After getting washed and dressed you are all escorted to the castle's main hall, where ten robed wizards (both male & female) sit at the high table, warriors and servants below. Dinner is about to be served.
Smon: Hi Rin, yes you can lurk no prob :)]
chris107: H remains quiet. Uncomfortable around wizards
chris107: (Too many bad memories of Oriax)
Smon: Feani leads you all towards the high table, and bows to an elderly woman in the highest chair. "Milady Dasmela Evi, greetings from Prince Cuchulainn of Onhir."
Kjato Ragfoot: Thuruar is rather awkward around people who hate clerics.
chris107: hehe
Smon: The wizardess nods and smiles slightly. "Greetings. I hear you dispatched some of those cursed Ape cultists? Well done!"
chris107: Are these fellows familier with Oriax?
Smon: (you could ask?)
chris107: "They were nasty brutes. One bit my friend here."
chris107: he waves in Thur's direction.
Smon: A shudder runs through the throng at Hakeem's words. Feani blanches.
Smon: Dasmela: "Is this true?!"
Kjato Ragfoot: Yeah. Left a horrible dent in my armour, will have to fix that.
chris107: "Is that bad?" he looks at his own little scratches expecting to see black hairs sprouting...
Kjato Ragfoot: Luckily, they did not draw blood.
Smon: heh. Make a bluff check Thuruar (+prof)
Kjato Ragfoot rolls 1d20+4 and gets: 8, (+4) = 12
Kjato Ragfoot: (plus whatever attribute bonus)
Smon: The wizards relax a little. Dasmela: "Had they drawn blood, you would be doomed! Nothing for it but a swift death!"
chris107: Cripes!
chris107:
Kjato Ragfoot: Oh? What happens to those who get bitten by those cultists?
chris107: H bites his foolish tongue
Smon: A fat and jolly fellow wizard nods too. "Had you not the courage to slay yourself, we would have had to dispatch you forthwith!"
Smon: Feani: "It is indeed fortunate... Have you news of Chacban, milady?"
chris107: How could a simple wound be so destructive?
Smon: Dasmela: "The curse of Hanuman, Altanian!" She turns to Feani: "All is well with the dwarves, though they chafe at the Nerathi's export tax as usual. A great scarred leopard has taken up residence in the Serpent Villa north of the Laer Bridge, deterring dwarven adventurers who sought to explore the crypts beneath. Otherwise all is peaceful."
Smon: Dasmela: "Now, let us eat. Be welcome." She gestures to some empty places at a low table, amongst the servants and guards. Amdor coughs. "Milady..."
chris107: H is happy to slip down to low table. Away from the nobby wizards
Smon: "...I don't believe we have been introduced. I am Amdor the Mighty, Archmage of the Ghinarian Hills. With my trusty companions I am set upon a great quest..."
Kjato Ragfoot: (Oh. That must be paradise for Amdor)
chris107: H looks sideways at this...
Smon: "...To close the Gate-Portal of the Black Sun!" (gasps from the wizards)
chris107: (Is the Serpent Villa marked on the map?)
Smon: (no) "...And thus to defeat the Zombie hordes of Neo-Nerath that threaten our fair land! I greet thee."
chris107: brb 2 mins, need to fetch more logs in for the fire
Smon: Amdor CHA check:
Smon: /roll d20
Smon rolls 1d20 and gets: 15,
Kjato Ragfoot: Without his powerful magics, I would doubt such an endevour, but he utterly convinced me of the feasibility of this quest.
Smon: Dasmela looks puzzled. "An Archmage? Strange, I thought I knew every great Wizard in Altanis." She turns to Thuruar and nods. "I see."
Smon: Amdor: "Aye, I am far travelled."
chris107: back
chris107: good old Amdor
Smon: The fat & jolly wizard nods & smiles. "Welcome, oh great one! I am Ayahtani Kuturbani. Please, sit at High Table with us. We have much to learn from thee..."
Smon: An extra chair is brought for Amdor to sit among the Wizards, while the rest of you have benches with the commoners.
Smon: Alicia: "Should I tell them I can... and he can't... Oh, what's the point."
Kjato Ragfoot: Oh, come on. For their pompousness, they deserve each other.
chris107: "Alicia, you say he is not a mighty wizard?"
Smon: You dine modestly on rice, peas and water, while high above Amdor feasts on calves' hearts, roast songbirds and the finest nectar wine.
chris107: (Kjato - you are right of course. Hakeem makes a mental note )
Smon: Alicia glares at Hakeem. "Have YOU ever seen him cast a spell? Or do ANYTHING?"
Smon: Feani glances up at High Table. "Well, he seems to be keeping them entertained..."
chris107: H looks sheepish... "Well... no. But he said....." He finishes weakly
Kjato Ragfoot: Oh, Amdor is a fine guy, former wizard apprentice or not. Who knows, he actually might know a cantrip or something like that. But he definitely is funny to have around and can often help out with historical lore.
Smon: Amdor's voice reaches you. "There in the Lichway, I faced my sternest test... the Black Armies of Neo-Nerath! And the lovely yet treacherous Black Odo..."
chris107: H catches the whiff of BS.
chris107: We should press on when we may.
Smon: "...Of course I could not release my mightiest Magicks, lest I collapse the crumbling foundations of the ancient sepulchre! Battle we did, through the Blue-Skinned Svart hordes, a hundred strong and more..."
chris107: Princesses to rescue and necromancers to slay.
Smon: Laara toys with her peas, nods to Hakeem. "Aye."
7:45pm  2015-12-13 Rinrevnik Has exited the room
Kjato Ragfoot: Yes. We should get up early tomorrow, and leave as soon as possible to the dwarven stronghol.
Kjato Ragfoot: THey will probably be interested in that bronze armour as well.
Smon: GM: After dinner you retire to bed; Amdor is given a Wizards' chamber befitting his station while the rest of you have spartan but clean quarters.
chris107: good thinking
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 6,
Kjato Ragfoot: (Are those single quarters?=
Kjato Ragfoot: (Because if they are, Thuruar is going to cast some Cure Spells before going to sleep)
7:47pm  2015-12-13 Rinrevnik Has entered the room
Smon: Thuruar Rey & Hakeem get one room, Laara Feani & Alicia a second.
Smon: So Thuruar can cast.
Kjato Ragfoot rolls 2d8+5 and gets: 7, 8, (+5) = 20
chris107: nice rolls Kjato
Smon: /roll d20

Kjato Ragfoot: I leave some wounds remaining, otherwise it would seem suspicious that I healed that quickly.
Smon: Next morning you are woken by a commotion, and screams: "Assassin!"
chris107: H reaches for Bloodletter
Smon: The door to your chamber bursts open...
Smon: In strides the wizard Panti Chakar, who met you at the gate.
chris107: His Barbarian senses alert
Smon: He sees the three of you, Hakeem already up and wielding his sword.
Smon: Panti: "Amdor the Mighty! Murdered in the night!"
chris107: "Assassins? Where?"
chris107: "Amdor murdered?!"
Smon: "Come, see for yourselves..."
chris107: "What has happened?"
Kjato Ragfoot: Who would do such a thing?
Kjato Ragfoot: The Black Sun must have infiltrated this place!
Smon: He turns, beckoning you to follow. Upstairs you are met at the door to Amdor's room by a bleary-eyed Alicia, Laara & Feani, her sword drawn.
chris107: H goes with him to find out what has happened to the olfd goat.
Smon: Inside the lavishly appointed chamber, Amdor's body sprawls on a four-poster bed, staring up into space. His throat is slit from ear to ear, and there is a slight discoloration about the wound.
chris107: "Poison!"
Smon: Rey: "The same poison on the rapier I took..."
chris107: H's tracking skills find any evidence of footprints etc?
chris107 rolls 1d20 and gets: 16,
Smon: Alicia: "I guess someone knows we're here?"
Smon: DC 20.
Kjato Ragfoot: Well, Amdor pronounced our intention rather loudly yesterday.
Smon: 16+4 Prof -1 Wis = 19, +2 Altanian bonus = 21, pass
chris107: +4 prof +2 skill bonus
Smon: It looks to Hakeem as if someone entered the room, crept over the lush carpet to the bed, slit Amdor's throat then withdrew the same way.
chris107: Through a window?
Smon: Probably not; the window seems undisturbed.
Smon: Panti Chakar: "They knew they could not face the Great Mage in open battle - so they sent Assassins to kill him as he slept!"
chris107: "How does an assassin get past a whole bunch of powerful wizards?"
Kjato Ragfoot: By acting as their servant.
Smon: Panti's face darkens.
Smon: He nods to Thuruar. "The servants shall be searched immediately!"
Smon: You are escorted back to your rooms and asked to remain there.
chris107: "Bah! We shoukld be helping to search for the Nerathi scum who murdered our friend."
Kjato Ragfoot: Well, once we are in the solitude of our room, Thuruar will finally prepare "Greater Restoration" and afterwards cast it on himself to get rid of that curse/disease/poison from the cultists.
Kjato Ragfoot: Hakeem, for them, we are suspects as well. Mere warriors, servants of the great mage Amdor.
chris107: H is not happy but bites his tongue for now
chris107: He sharpens Bloodletter imagining how it will slice through Oriax's scrawny neck
Smon: Thuruar quietly heals himself, the itching from his wound fades. Two hours later (ca 9am) Panti returns, even more grim-faced. "A servant, Darshit, is missing... And his wife says he had been acting strangely of late. Distant... We have sent out guards to search the countryside and the paths."
Smon: Panti: "The Elf Feani says you wish to be going soon, but I must ask you to remain until investigations are concluded."
chris107: "Bah! We have no time for this!"
Smon: Panti: "Dasmela has given instruction that the Great Mage is to be cremated tonight atop our highest spire. Thus we honour him. You will stay for the ceremony."
Smon: brb tea
chris107:
Kjato Ragfoot: Poor Amdor. He always wanted to go out in a blaze of glory, but he probably imagined it differently.
chris107: Yeah, I liked old Amdor
chris107: another foul crime to add to the list
Kjato Ragfoot: (And with the wizards burning his body, I cannot even resurrect them)
chris107: (Ah gosh yes!)
Smon: Maids bring you some food, and the long hours pass...
chris107: Hakeem is really, really starting to dislike Wizards
Smon: The sun is setting when Panti Chakar returns again, this time with Alicia, Feani & Laara in tow.
Rinrevnik sent you a private message. If it did not open automatically, check for blocked popups and/or [Click Here]
Kjato Ragfoot: (Question: Could Thuruar have prepared a Divination spell as well? In that case he would have asked the question "where is Darathi at this moment")
Smon: Panti: "The guards have found Darshit's body, in a shallow grave in the trees, just past the rice fields..."
Kjato Ragfoot: Oh. Wow.
chris107: mmmmm
Kjato Ragfoot: He must have been mind controlled.
8:09pm  2015-12-13 Rinrevnik Has exited the room
Kjato Ragfoot: (Or replaced by a doppelganger)
chris107: H makes the sign to ward off evil
Smon: Panti: "He has been dead for some time... about three weeks, they think. A doppleganger seems possible."
Smon: Panti: "Please come with me. The Wizards wish to speak with you."
Kjato Ragfoot: Sure. We do not want to keep them waiting.
Smon: You are escorted back into the Hall, Panti takes his place among the ten Wizards of Laer.
Smon: They are now clad in black mourning robes. Dasmela Evi speaks: "The accursed dogs of Neo-Nerath have struck down a guest in our very home! This is an act of war!"
chris107: H nods his approval
chris107: he wasn't expecting this warlike stance from the wizards.
Smon: Dasmela: "We have consulted, and we wish to carry forward the great Amdor's quest, to close the Gate of the Black Sun and restore Balance to the Lands of Altanis. But none of us is an Archmage, nor were we privy to the dread secrets that Amdor carried to his grave."
chris107: hehe
Smon: "We have brought you here to ask, did Amdor give any inkling of how he intended to close the Gate? His notes and mage-book must have been stolen by the Assassin..."
chris107:
chris107: Hakeem hasn't actually thought about how we were going to shut the gate
Smon: Laara: "Well, I... ~oof~" - Feani digs her in the ribs, whispering: "~Have a care. The Conclave are liberal in their view of what constitutes demoncraft.~"
chris107: he just assumed he would kill Morthor and move on.
Kjato Ragfoot: Amdor only hinted closing the portal itself would be rather easy, the problem was to dispel the seals that protect it.
Smon: Laara whispers to Hakeem: "~I think I can close the Gate... But Feani says not to tell these Wizards.~"
chris107: H whispers back "Probably for the best."
Smon: Panti Chakar: "I am skilled at the Dispelling on incantations. I would be honoured to join your quest!"
chris107: (prob not a good idea with Thur?)
Smon: Feani glances at Thuruar, frowns. Alicia: "Eh, I don't think we really need..."
Smon: Alicia sighs, steps forwards and looks up at the Conclave, chest out and shoulders back. "I am Alicia Scarnetti... also a Wizard. I will close the Gate... for Amdor."
Smon: /roll d20
Smon rolls 1d20 and gets: 12,
Kjato Ragfoot: We cannot risk the life of another powerful wizard on our journey. The Black Sun might try to take this whole order down one by one, you will be needed here.
Smon: Dasmela nods to Thuruar: "You make a good point... Alicia, why did you not tell us? And why are you clad in a loincloth like a common slave girl?"
Smon: Alicia locks eyes with Dasmela. "In order, milady, that I not get my throat cut in my sleep."
chris107: ouch
Smon: Dasmela: "I see... Well if you do not need another wizard, is there yet some assistance we can provide?"
chris107: hehe that sounds a good idea
Smon: Alicia: "Magic items would be fine..."
chris107: "Any protection you can give us would be much appreciated.
Kjato Ragfoot: Yes, anything that protects against the vile magic of the Black Sun's priest would be most welcome.
Smon: "You may have our most powerful scroll-spells!"
chris107: "And something to protect us from their mind influencing enchantments would be welcome."
Smon: Panti Chakar brings in a plush scarlet cushion on which sit several rolled scrolls: "From our treasury... The spell scrolls of the 3rd & 4th Circle." GM - Level 3: Phantom Steed (PHB 265), Lightning Bolt (PHB 255), Protection from Energy (PHB 270), Vampiric Touch (PHB 285) Level 4: Wall of Fire (PHB 285), Locate Creature (PHB 256), Private Sanctum (PHB 262)."
chris107: H can only think about fire lighters
Kjato Ragfoot: Well, Alicia is our expert on the topic after the demise of Amdor.
Smon: Panti: "If you require scrolls of the lower ranks, we have... " GM:Level 1: Alarm (PHB 211), Witch Bolt (PHB 289), Expeditious Retreat (PHB 238), Comprehend Languages (PHB 224), Illusory Script (PHB 252), Ray of Sickness (PHB 271), Mage Armor (PHB 256), Fog Cloud (PHB 243) Level 2: Blindness/Deafness (PHB 219), Spider Climb (PHB 277), Scorching Ray (PHB 273), Detect Thoughts (PHB 231)
chris107: Wow. If any of us played a wizard...
Smon: Alicia: "Hmm... All of those may prove useful in our quest. Thank you."
chris107: "Aye thanks for your aid."
Smon: Dasmela: "The hour grows late... Now we will burn Amdor's body in the ancient rites. After that you are welcome to stay another night."
chris107: "Thank you."
Kjato Ragfoot: Thanks indeed.
chris107: "Let us give friend Amdor a fit farewell."
Smon: GM: That night atop the highest tower, Amdor's body is burned with great ceremony as a choir chants our prayers to the ancient Karakhan gods.
chris107: "Then do war upon Neo-Nerath."
Smon: Dasmela watches as the flames rise, sparks flying up to the heavens on the stiff breeze. "The great one's soul rises to join with the gods."
chris107: H nods appreciatively
Smon: After the funeral Dasmela has guards placed on your rooms.
Smon: 28/4/4446 The night passes peacefully; next day rested and refreshed you are ready to depart.
Smon: Alicia's saddle bags are now bulging with every single spell-scroll the Conclave had to offer.
chris107: OOC - Now we just have a princess to rescue from the dwarves
Smon: Dasmela: "Farewell my friends. Avenge the Great One, and strike down the Black Sun!"
chris107: "We will indeed!"
Kjato Ragfoot: We will.
Smon: You ride out through the gate, over a drawbridge, and through paddy fields, Feani leading you on a westward trail back into the Laer hills.
chris107: H stays close to Laara
chris107: making sure she is safe
Kjato Ragfoot: Hopefully, not any more of those cultists.
Smon: Soon the trail descends into open meadowlands dotted with trees. To the southwest (left) stretches off a dismal marsh, while occasionally to the north/right you glimpse a glittering river, which Feani terms the Rillcut stream.
Smon: Feani: "At night zombies and lacedons roam here in numbers... said to be commanded by an insane mummy-lich of ancient Altanis. But by day we need only fear the ebony statues..."
chris107: Cripes
chris107: "What can you tell us of the ebony statues?"
Kjato Ragfoot: Ebony statues do not sound that dangerous, unless you run into them drunkenly?
chris107:
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 6,
Smon: Feani points ahead. "Looks like them..."
Smon:
chris107: Your 6's are legendry!
Smon: I roll a 6 at least half the time.
Kjato Ragfoot: We should not have drunk that many toasts on Amdor yesterday evening after all...
Smon: /roll 4d6
Smon rolls 4d6 and gets: 4, 1, 2, 6, = 13
Smon: 130' ahead down the trail you see two 10' tall ebon statues, exquisitely carved in manlike form.
chris107: What do we know of them?
Kjato Ragfoot: And can we prevent fighting them?
Smon: Feani rears in her horse. "I know they cannot be fought - but they can be outrun! We must flee!"
chris107: Grrrr!
chris107: But H goes along
Smon: As if seeing Feani has spotted them, the unmoving statues suddenly animate, great heads turning in your direction.
Smon: Are you fleeing them?
Kjato Ragfoot: Yes. There is no point fighting something that cannot be fought.
chris107: Regretably yes
Smon: GM: You gallop away from them, they take a step towards you but do not pursue as you swiftly pass out of sight into the trees.
Smon: Feani leads you in a wide arc south, towards the swamp to your south.
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 3,
Smon: Amazingly, no swamp critters attack you! An hour or so later you rejoin the path well west of where you spotted the Statues.
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 1,
Smon: That afternoon you see a thin smoke trail ahead - a cooking fire perhaps, rising from a sturdy stone tower that sits on the far side of a broad waterway spanned by a stone bridge. Your trail winds down towards the bridge, where two armoured dwarves stand sentry, spear penants fluttering in the breeze.
Smon: Feani: "This bridge marks the border of Chacban territory."
chris107: Kjato? Do you want to take the lead?
Kjato Ragfoot: Very well.
chris107: H will likely be a bit...blunt.
Kjato Ragfoot: Good evening over there! May we enter the realm of Chacban?
Smon: The dwarves wear dark plate armour, decorated with gold emblazure.
Smon: You ride down to the bridge, the dwarves move onto the bridge to meet you. "State your name and business here, stranger."
Smon: Feani: "I am Feani of Onhir, known to the dwarves of Chacban as a friend. Prince Cuchulainn sends greetings to the noble lords of the mountain."
Kjato Ragfoot: Thuruar from the Altanian plains, cleric of Athena.
chris107: "Hakeem Greywolf."
Smon: "And your business?"
Kjato Ragfoot: We simply want to pass through on our eastward.
chris107: H almost blurts it out but doesn't
Smon: "You are a long way from the Halafic road, here. You came from Anatal?" Feani nods.
Smon: Feani whispers to Thuruar: "If you have a gift..."
Kjato Ragfoot: Oh. Sure.
Kjato Ragfoot: (What kind of gifts do dwarves like?)
chris107: (Gold ones?)
Smon: Feani: "We - we wish to avoid Halafic, noble dwarves. There is much turmoil there, that cost the life of my mentor the great Rythalin." The dwarves nod.
Smon: Alicia whispers: "Gold sounds right..."
chris107: Hakeem looks miserably at his wafer thin purse.
Kjato Ragfoot: We simply give them the coins we took from the cultists?
chris107: yeah
Kjato Ragfoot: All right. Thuruar will hand the dwarves 35 gold coins, for keeping us safe from those undead on the other side of the river.
Smon: GM: You hand over the 35gp you took from the cultists. "Cheers... ah, the ghouls rarely come this far west. "
Smon: "You have a little over seven leagues to Chacban - good dwarf road; hurry and you'll be there tonight!"
Smon: The dwarves wave you past, over the bridge.
Kjato Ragfoot: That is good to hear!
chris107: Then let's press on
Kjato Ragfoot: Yep.
Smon: Beyond the bridge you can see the first sight of distant Chacban mountain, silhouetted against the western sky.
Smon: Lush jungle lands stretch off to north and south though the terrain ahead is mostly clear, broken by low hills to the south west that stretch off towards the great mountain.
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 4,
Kjato Ragfoot: (For some strange reason, no horrible beasts or dwarven brigands descend upon us)
chris107: (Makes a change  )
Smon: You make good time, the mountain growing ever larger ahead. Here and there you begin to see signs of habitation - mine workings, distant chimney-smokes, herds of sheep watched by squat dwarf shepherdesses toting heavy crossbows... That evening you reach a stone path running up the mountain towards the city gates.
Smon: Ahead of you the road is thronged with dwarven miners, singing merrily as they return from their day's work - "Hey ho, hey ho, tis back from work we go..."
chris107: They are mean looking sheperdesses
Smon: Above you you see lights glitter on the mountainside from the many spires that rise from the bedrock.
Kjato Ragfoot: (They are probably devout worshippers of Artemis)
Smon: Feani: "Are we seeking an audience with their king?"
chris107: "I we must find out his views on kidnapping elven royalty."
Smon: Eventually you reach the city gate. Feani speaks with the guards, and an escort is summoned. Your horses are taken and you are brought into the city...
Kjato Ragfoot: We definitely have to speak with the king to inform him of our quest and the lost princess.
Kjato Ragfoot: But perhaps we should speak with that scout friend of yours first, perhaps he can give some information and it would be better to keep him on our good side.
Smon: Through numerous halls and up broad flights of granite steps you are escorted by ten heavily armoured dwarven guards.
Smon: At last to a throne room, thronged with two dozen members of the dwarven royal court. At the far end a dwarf sits upon a golden throne. The herald announces: "Kneel before his Majesty, Frandal the Hammer, King of Chacban!"
Smon: https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhFPIGmCrx4jbI7uJfoBAI2dSYCpGBebWxcOm9zQRnBBL61XvBBGLH2dy-WjYvCuxxhrbLPpF4ctekAeOacvB1ntvxLu-s2HUkI8FPXP8SukShhBDwm5wOK3Trzn8pjssPmEsyQIru_z28/s400/dwarven_king_final_by_diegogisbertllorens-d5o3way.jpg
chris107: H bows deeply
Kjato Ragfoot: Let's do as asked.
chris107: "Mighty king."
Smon: Feani steps forward and kneels before the dwarven monarch, who regards her thoughtfully. "Feani of Onhir your Majesty. Prince Cuchulainn sends friendly greetings."
Smon: Laara and Alicia follow suit in kneeling, likewise.
Smon: Are Thuruar & Hakeem kneeling or bowing?
Kjato Ragfoot: Kneeling, as asked.
chris107: H bows
Smon: Frandal chuckles slightly, nods to Feani. "King Frandal sends friendly greetings in turn."
Smon: He turns to Hakeem. "You are Captain here?"
chris107: "I am Hakeem Greywolf." he says simply.
Smon: Frandal nods. "By your companions, you have excellent taste in womenfolk."
Smon: Rey coughs.
chris107: (Nice helm and hammer by the way)
Smon: Frandal eyes Thuruar. "A priest of Athena, if I'm not mistaken. Welcome. "
Kjato Ragfoot: You are right your majesty. Thanks for the kind welcome.
Smon: Feani: "Your majesty, my companions are on a long journey. North... Is your servant Daximus Shadowborne in residence? I know he knows those lands..."
Smon: Frandal nods to Thuruar, and indicates a sturdy dwarf matron to his right in priestly garb. "This is Hanil, priestess of Rosmerta - some say your Athena is an Aspect or Avatar of hers..."
Smon: The priestess nods to Thuruar. The king turns back to Feani. "Aye, though he has been a little distracted of late. Since he returned with his prize from... the Gate Castle of the Black Sun."
Smon: Laara gasps.
Smon: Feani blinks. "W-what?"
chris107:
chris107: (I wonder what his 'prize' was?)
Smon: Frandal chuckles. "Come, eat with me! We will talk of it over dinner, and meet with Daximus."
Smon: The dwarf king rises, as does the rest of the court, and you are taken down to the feasting hall below, where Frandal offers Feani, Hakeem & Thuruar a seat at his table.
chris107: nice
chris107: hopefully something with meat
Smon: Human slave girls bring platters of meat and great tankards of ale. You are just eating a light appetiser of whole roast pig stuffed with turkey (finally, Hakeem chow!) when...
chris107: YAY!
chris107: Pig & Ale!
Smon: A dark-clad tattooed dwarf enters the hall, accompanied by a beautiful nude elfin maid, a silver collar about her neck - Princess Valadai & the dwarf scout Daximus Shadowborne.
Smon: Daximus - https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjz1bS1t_ygcjCqv3u_0E9dF7lg29e7nRYMCoUSE5OhFW_WguRQvS1KOYONKBYAunvcH6JKKqcdBP8d29NKb4PzGXgpbKtYqQyYAGurKaLGNCarew1sc9uTU4HrIuKYsCvkRMuG1UhgwhA/s400/daximus_shadowborne__the_3rd_of_his_name___dnd_ch_by_noiprox-d6mncfg.jpg
chris107: (So much for the King not knowing)
Smon: The King waves Daximus over, the elf princess close by.
Kjato Ragfoot: I assume they do not know the new slave is the princess.
Smon: Frandal: "Daximus! Our friends here are heading north, to the realm of the Black Sun. I'm sure you have much to tell them..."
Smon: Daximus eyes you all, gaze settling on the elf scout. "Feani. Long time no see."
Smon: Feani regards him icily. "Daximus."
Smon: ooc Good time to stop if you have a 10pm game?
chris107: Good for me. Kjato can take it from here better than me anyway. H would end up chopping off heads

Sesssion 52 26/4/4446 The Crazed Cultists of Gungli Ma

XP
Cultists 1333 each
Reach Hall of the Laer +167 each
Total 1500 each.

Hakeem, Barbarian LEVEL 10 XP 1500+81814=83314/85000
Thuruar, Cleric LEVEL 9 XP 1500+50620=52120/64000
Rey, Rogue LEVEL 9 XP 1500+59988=61488/64000

chris107: Graham, we need your specialist skills tonight...
Amalric: I'm afraid you can only have Rey's
chris107: hehe
chris107: that'll do
Amalric: not much difference really
Smon:
Smon: It's up to Rey to save the beautiful, naked, well endowed elven princess!
Amalric: dirty job, but someone has to do it
chris107: who's been kidnaped by the wicked cigar smoking Dwaf
Kjato Ragfoot: While you are at it, you could liberate the cigars as well.
Amalric: something for everyone?
Smon:
Kjato Ragfoot: Well, I am not sure what Hakeem would do with a dwarf.
chris107: This stuff is way out of Hakeems comfort zone
Smon: @Thuruar in your hands the enchanted shortsword Aeanor crafted for you acts as a Disruption weapon - 2d6 radiant damage to undead, targets w under 25 hp left DC 15 Wis save or be destroyed. On save are Frightened until end of your next turn. Sheds bright light 20' & dim light another 20' r.
chris107: He hasn't killed anything in weeks.
chris107:
Kjato Ragfoot: Whoa...
chris107: very nice
Amalric: pass them around!
Smon: Also works on fiends.
chris107: Like Rey?
Kjato Ragfoot: So, basically with that sword in hand, Thuruar is a Neo-Nerathi's worst nightmare?
Smon: LOL
Smon: It should be nasty vs Neo-Nerathi undead, yes.
chris107: Yay Kjato! Let's go do war upon the Nerathi right now!
Smon: GM: >>chris107: We will need to leave some of our number in a place of safety while we rescue the princess. How far is it to the lair of these kidnappers? Smon: Feani: "Two days, if we pass by the Hall of the Laer and are not attacked by the Cultists. I have been informed that many of the Gungli Ma have been seen recently in the Laer Hills." chris107: Could four of us flit there and back under the cover of the elven cloaks? Smon: Laara is looking uncomfortable. "Hakeem? May I speak with you?" chris107: Whilst our friends remain here in safety.. Smon: Laara tugs at Hakeem's shoulder. chris107: "Of course Laara. I would welcome your opinion." Smon: Queen Cildarith: "Yes. Speak." Smon: Laara crimsons as she suddenly finds herself the centre of attention. She gulps: "Y-your majesty..." Smon: "... Our mission is to close the Gate of the Black Sun. If we fail, our people will die! Your sister... I think she is not in immediate danger. I think we should rescue her only when the Gate is closed." Smon: The Queen frowns: "No. Every moment she spends in the arms of that beast sickens me! I would rather she be dead than this..." she waves at the font. chris107: "And how far are we from Morthor's lair?" chris107: "Will 5 days make a difference Laara?" Smon: Feani: "I don't know exactly... I have not been past Kukul, a city of Goblins north of Chacban, on the southern edge of Morthor's realm. A few days, I think." chris107: "We have made good time so far after all." Smon: Laara shrugs. "We can't know, either way..." Smon: Cildarith: "Feani, Thuruar, Hakeem, Lord Reynard - bring my sister home."<<
Amalric: sounds like a plan
Kjato Ragfoot: We actually had two plans: http://www.dragonsfoot.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=70130&start=330#p1699489
chris107: you beat me to it Kjato
Amalric: pick the simple one
Smon: You also beat me to it Kjato
Smon: So Queen Cildarith wants to send Feani, Thuruar, Hakeem, & Lord Reynard with the Elven Cloaks to Chacban to rescue her sister Valadai.
chris107: H is happy to go along
chris107: Though he's pretty sure that the other dwafs will not be pleased that one of their number has kidnaped an elven princess
chris107: H tries to squeeze his broad frame into the puny elf cloak
Kjato Ragfoot: Oh. Right. We will asks the elves what the usual relation between elves and dwarfs is - is it common that one side enslaves the other?
Smon: Feani: "We can make our preparations for the journey and leave at dawn tomorrow?"
Smon: The Queen shakes her head to Thuruar. "No. They have many human females, but have never dared enslave an Elf of Anatal!"
Amalric: "Bloody dwarves."
chris107: "I could always call him out of his hole and beat the living crap out of him until he gives her back and makes reperations."
Smon: Are you going to follow the plan of just the 4 of you going, while Amdor Alicia & Laara stay in Anatal?
Kjato Ragfoot: Well, if he has more wisdom than the average dragonfly, he'll pepper you with bolts from inside his hole.
chris107:
chris107: Even H's tiny brain knows it will do no good to our cause by starting a war between elf and dwarf
chris107: Sneaking in like thieves can not be right
chris107: (No offence Rey)
Amalric: (none taken!)
Amalric: yes, just the four of us
Kjato Ragfoot: Well, either of our plans means we can take everyone along.
chris107: What about going in like men. And see how the land lays with them?
chris107: See if they are aware of the princess been there?
Kjato Ragfoot: OK. Let's follow Hakeems plan.
Smon: Everyone is going, inc Laara Amdor & Alicia?
Kjato Ragfoot: It is the first time his plans do not involve killing everybody and we should reward that.
chris107: hehe
chris107: Maybe we should leave L, A and Al here until we are sure?
Kjato Ragfoot: No. They basically ensure we will tread lightly not to endanger them.
chris107: okay, fair comment
Smon: So you bring them?
Amalric: leave them!
chris107: Let us be off.
chris107: 1-3 leave them
Kjato Ragfoot: ((Replacing "Blindness" with "Enhance Ability"))
chris107 rolls 1d6 and gets: 5,
Smon: (OK)
Kjato Ragfoot: (If we just go to the dwarfs to negotiate for the release of the princess, there is no reason to leave our party behind.)
Smon: 26/4/4446 Dawn the next day, fully rested, healed and on fresh mounts, you cross a bridge and head out of Anatal's northern gate.
chris107: H will leave the negotiating to Rey and Thur. He will just menace in the back ground
Smon: For fifteen miles you head north on the east bank of a steep river-vale, until Feani leads you down-slope and across a ford where glittering waters run over smooth grey-brown stones.
Smon: Up the western bank and onto a little-used path...
Smon: The hilly terrain is forested and wild, not too unlike Ghinaria.
Kjato Ragfoot: (as long as there are not as many Oriaxes as in the hills)
Smon: Feani: "The Laer hills... thirty miles to the Hall of the Laer. On these steeds we should make it before nightfall..."
chris107: Oriax
Kjato Ragfoot: Let us hurry then. I am sure, Anatal would like its princess back.
Smon: You have gone a couple miles west from the river when the track runs down into a clearing. Feani reins in her steed. "Something doesn't smell right..." her delicate nose wrinkles.
chris107: H whips out Bloodletter
Smon: She points - looking downslope through the trees into the clearing ahead, you see gnawed bones glisten white in the sunlight, gobbets of red flesh still hanging from them.
chris107: His barbarian senses alert to any danger
Smon: /roll d20
Smon rolls 1d20 and gets: 17,
Smon: Hakeem is the first to spot the purple-cloaked figures creeping towards you through the undergrowth on both sides.
chris107: What size?
Smon: Man-sized, cowled, they move with a strange bestial gate. Most carry Katar punch daggers in their hairy, oddly ape-like hands.
chris107: H sets his shield and readies his sword
Smon: Feani gasps: "The Crazed Cultists of Gungli Ma! Acolytes of Hanuman the Accursed!"
Kjato Ragfoot: Great. More insane cultists.
chris107: "They will die like any other."
chris107: (So ride past or attack chaps?"
Amalric: "Who'd have thought the wilderness would be such a dangerous place!"
Smon: Laara gasps and wheels her horse back up the slope behind you. Amdor does too: "Don't worry my dear, I'll protect you while these fellows deal with the frontal assault!"
Amalric: ride on
Amalric: or not
chris107: Bah
Smon: The Cultists close in, it would be tricky to ride past them.
chris107: can we gallop past these things?

Kjato Ragfoot: Well, I do not like fighting.
Smon: She dismounts, kneels, and takes a crude copper amulet from the neck of the dead cult leader. "Gungli Ma, as I thought... the Conclave of the Laer will be glad to hear we have slain their foes."

Smon: Who's taking it on their horse?

Amalric: "Will we notice any difference?"

Smon: Lesser Restoration (2nd level) can remove disease.
Kjato Ragfoot: For now, there is nothing I can but to protect myself from imminent death. I would need to pray for her support on removing such a powerful affliction as that.
Smon: Greater Restoration should hopefully be enough, yes!]
Smon: GM: Are you resting now, or pressing on to try to reach the Conclave of Laer by nightfall?

Kjato Ragfoot: I hope they offer hospitality, I would hate to sleep outdoors in these parts.
Smon: You approach the ancient palace-fortress; a horn blows from the watchers on the walls high above.
Smon: Feani whispers: "The mages of Karak who dwell here are friendly... One thing. Do not reveal you are a Priest, Fr Thuruar - they believe all Clerical magic is the work of Demons..."
Smon: You draw up before the high double gates. Feani calls up: "Feani of Onhir, with travellers - we have come far, Panti Chakar! Please let us in!"
chris107: Has Thur started growing thick dark hair yet?
Kjato Ragfoot: He always had thick dark hair. You just could not see it due to the helmet.
chris107: hehe
chris107: here he is
Smon: Feani whispers: "Panti Chakar is the wizard who commands the defences... the head of the Conclave is Dasmela Evli."

Smon: Feani: "There was a battle - my friends have slain many of the Gungli Ma."
Smon: The man smiles broadly. "Excellent news! I am Panti Chakar, and who might you be, noble travellers?"
