6:01pm 2017-4-29 chris107 Has entered the room
chris107: Evening Simon
Smon: Hi chris!
chris107: Really great session last time
Smon: Bill said there was a chance he might join us tonight.
Smon: Glad you enjoyed it.
Smon: Actually at the start I was thinking "Thegn Oriana is kinda boring..." but it came together well.
chris107: That would be great. Prince Shieldbiter and his royal Wyvern would be most helpful getting across to the Three Sword Isle !
Smon: Are you staying in Ghutaris hall for the night?
Smon: It's only afternoon currently.
chris107: I think so, I can imagine a good Altanian booze up will be order of the day.
Smon: GM: OK Hakeem & Dagda drink and feast with Hotar and Isis - Isis can certainly put away a good amount despite her small size - telling tales of your exploits.
chris107: hehe
Smon: Dr Piercemuller engages in a little Teutonic flirting with Dagda.
chris107: Well, she has her freedom now
chris107: Another small victory for Hakeem.
Smon: Hotar: "You should have seen the size of that brigand berserker I slew at Yusan's Fall - half-ogre for sure..." Isis: "Half goblin more like!"
Smon: /roll d8
Smon rolls 1d8 and gets: 1,
Smon: Night falls, the rain beats down incessantly on the Hall roof, thunder rolls across the hills.
chris107: "Ah! Isis! You should revel in your brother's battle exploits. Why I'm sure I saw the brute myself. Though the corpses laid so high around Hotar it was hard to be sure!"
chris107: (Never hurts to butter them up a bit )
Smon: Hotar grins at Hakeem's compliment. "Speaking of Brigands my lord, watch out in the Vale - Ruggio still lives and has been gathering diehards to his banner, I hear. He would dearly love to put you in the ground."
chris107: "Why hear the thunder?! Bondorr himself remembers!"
Smon: Isis scoffs: "Ruggio is no match for Lord Hakeem, fool!"
chris107: "I would dearly love for him to try."
Smon: Hotar nods: "Aye. In a fair fight you'd take his head, of course. But you know Ruggio..." he shrugs.
chris107: "Aye, he's a snake. Thanks for the warning. I'll keep my eyes open."
chris107: Hakeem will have pleasent dreams tonight, about the unpleasent things he will do to Ruggio.
Smon: Hotar nods. "He was last seen in the west, near Alkminis I hear - keeping well clear of King Rey and Lord Tug."
chris107: "He's a snake, not a fool. Either would happily crucify him."
chris107: "And I must visit the Citadel of Water next. So perhaps our paths are not meant to cross just yet. Reveange will be sweeter for the wait."
Smon: Isis laughs: "We all would - oh happy dat that'll be!" At last it's time to settle for the night; Dr Piercemuller brings Hakeem and Dagda furs for them to sleep by the hall fire, and bids Dagda goodnight with a smile.
chris107: (Security is good here?)
Smon: GM: Next morning you breakfast well, the servants bring great Vale apples and grapes while Rosa fries up fat sausages for you.
chris107: Yum!
Smon: The security is fairly good considering what Hotar has to work with, he has around half a dozen guards - Ghinarians, not Altani.
chris107: We made it through the night without getting our throats slit. That will do for me.
Smon: Hotar: "We are short of warriors Lord Hakeem as you can see - here it's just Isis and me. Tug has six or seven Seawolf at the Citadel, and Rey has a few."
Smon: Isis: "But we're training up the locals to fight, as best they may."
chris107: "That is good Isis. We will try and send what weapons and armour we can spare. Much must have been left on the field after Yusan's fall."
chris107: "And the freed slaves from Carmisch have much to fight for."
Smon: Isis: "Yes, weapons not the problem. It's good men - and women - we lack. Many went back north after the war."
Smon: Hotar nods: "Aye. The Ghinarians are good folks, mostly - but they lack our strength."
chris107: "And I fear this coming war will take many more."
Smon: Rosa: "I had a dream in the night..."
chris107: "Then it is good they have us to fight their wars, drink their ale and bed their women Hotar!"
chris107: This gets Hakeems attention...
Smon: Hotar grins broadly: "Aye, I'll drink to that!" He hefts his flagon.
Smon: Rosa sees Hakeem looking at him. "Oh, probably nothing. It was a place with cliffs, and flying beasts - Griffons? It was burning. There were women fighting, against Orcs I think. They were losing..."
chris107: "Highever?!"
Smon: Her face has a faraway look. "I don't know what it was called. There was a tall blonde woman with a bright sword, leading the defence. She seemed to be winning. Then..." Rosa shudders.
chris107: "We are 60 miles from Highever if we are 1. How sure are you of this?"
chris107: "Queen Artimisa?!"
Smon: "There was blackness, and... Something... came against her. Something unutterably foul. It... then I woke up."
chris107: "She said she knew her fate..."
chris107: "The spectre she so feared..."
chris107: "DAMN! If only I had some way to get to Highever!"
chris107: (Hakeem resolves to get his own flying steed sooner than later)
Smon: Rosa: "You know her? The woman? I think... I think this was in the future. It was a bright day, hot sunshine. Not like..." she gestures outside.
chris107: "My sister..." He looks stricken and falls silent.
Smon: Hotar: "You've not had this dream before. So, Orcs will attack Highhaven?"
chris107: "The future? Then we must get word to Queen Artimisa and tell her to beware Orc attacks and prepare for the day."
Smon: Rosa shrugs. "I only know what I saw."
Smon: Hotar: "Tug's Steward can have a message sent west, from the Citadel. I think he has pigeons, even."
Smon: Isis: "He probably ate the pigeons - he's Seawolf, remember!"
Smon: brb
6:30pm 2017-4-29 Smon Has exited the room
chris107: "You are right Hotar. I must bid you and your sister farewell for now and make haste to the Citadel of Water. Your help has been beyond measure my friends. I will not forget thi."
6:30pm 2017-4-29 Smon Has entered the room
Smon: Hotar smiles. "For Altanis. For Bondorr." He slaps his broad chest.
Smon: Dagda mutters something about 'mammories'.
chris107: "For Altanis and for Bondorr my friends!"
chris107: hehe
chris107: Hakeem once more dons his nondescript travelling gear.
Smon: GM: You prepare to depart; Rosa slips on a backpack stuffed with sausages, bread and her mysterious book.
Smon: Hotar: "Here, Rosa - get dressed. It's not respectable to travel abroad like that..."
chris107: And a bit chilly this time of year!
Smon: He tosses her a fairly skimpy loincloth. She shrugs and slips it on, smiles brightly. "Oh, it gets *much* colder in Amsterdam! Shall we be off then?"
Smon: /roll d8
Smon rolls 1d8 and gets: 4,
Smon: Outside it is indeed fairly warm, more muggy and overcast than hot, with a light drizzle falling.
chris107: Hakeem can only smile and gesture that we leave
chris107: Citadel of Water is our next goal. A little south of south west.
Smon: GM: You bid Isis & Hotar farewell. Heading out from Ghutaris, do you take the road to the Citadel?
chris107: Hakeem will be on full alert for Ruggio and his sneaky bandits.
chris107: Yes.
Smon: It's about 12 miles on the long-buried Kelnoran highway.
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 6,
chris107: Hood up and cloak pulled close.
Smon: LOL
chris107: Hmmmmmmm
chris107: It haxd to happen
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 5,
chris107: (Perhaps a Dragonborn Prince on a Wyvern?)
Smon: Suddenly ahead of you you hear the cawing of many ravens - a veritable flock of the birds, fluttering and pecking around a short, crouched grey-haired figure in grey pilgrim robes - an old woman?
Smon: She yells, trying to fend them off with her staff: "Ahh! Gerraway!"
chris107: "RRRAAARRRHHHHHH! AWAY BIRDS!"
Smon: Hakeem springs forward... roll init.
chris107: Hakeem runs to shoo the birds away from the old girl.
chris107 Rolls 1d20+2x2 and gets:
5 (+2) = 7
1 (+2) = 3
chris107:
Smon: /roll d20+2
Smon rolls 1d20+2 and gets: 16, (+2) = 18
Smon: Suddenly ravens are all around Hakeem, pecking at him.
Smon: /roll d20+4
Smon rolls 1d20+4 and gets: 16, (+4) = 20
Smon: Despite a good effort, they have no impact on the Armour of Bondorr.
chris107: AC22
Smon: Woman: "Ahh! They have my ring!"
Smon: Dozens of ravens are all around Hakeem, almost blinding him. He hears Dagda yelling.
chris107: How big is the flock around him?
chris107: Could he call down a lightning bolt on himself to kill the birds without hurting his friends or the woman?
chris107: (as he is immune to lightning)
Smon: Dozens of birds, could be a couple hundred? Yes.
Smon: Is that your action?
chris107: If it willonly hit him + birds, yes.
Smon: yup
Smon: Hakeem raises his sword, there's a brilliant flash... roll dmg.
chris107 rolls 14d6 and gets: 4, 4, 1, 6, 6, 6, 4, 2, 1, 1, 3, 6, 5, 3, = 52
Smon: Nice.
chris107: same as last time!
Smon: *CRACK*!
chris107: "Begone foul carrion spawn!"
Smon: Suddenly dozens of birds lie dead around him, the survivors scattering in all directions.
Smon: The old crone points her gnarled walking stick at one flapping east: "That one! It's got me ring!"
chris107: Can Dagda bring it down?
chris107: (If he has a bow etc.)
Smon: Behind Hakeem Dagda is swinging his sword, fending off ravens from himself & Rosa.
Smon: Looks like it's up to Hakeem.
chris107: Oh bugger
chris107: He did pick up some stones a couple of adventures ago. It will be in the text. Can he hurl one at the fleeingbird?
Smon: Sure.
chris107: str+prof?
Smon: (would have let you grab one off the ground most likely!)
chris107: or dex+prof?
chris107 rolls 1d20+6 and gets: 15, (+6) = 21
Smon: Yup heavy stone STR, AC 12 but you have disadvantage for range & smalness.
chris107: then +2 or +5
Smon: roll again (at +11)
chris107 rolls 1d20+6 and gets: 17, (+6) = 23
chris107: this is the man who brought down Oriax with a stone, he won't miss a crow
Smon: *awk* goes the 1hp raven as it's smashed out of the sky.
Smon: The old crone makes for it with surprising speed. "Me ring! Me ring! There it is!"
chris107: For some reason this pleases Hakeem greatly.
chris107: If the crone can reach it Hakeem will go aid his friends driving off the murder of crows.
Smon: The old woman picks up a silver ring set with large moonstone from the dead raven's claw, beaming happily. Dagda scatters the last of his ravens. Rosa examines a suspicious white glob in her hair.
chris107: hehe
Smon: The crone beams at you with her 2 remaining teeth. "Oh, thank'ee thank'ee kind sir! Seven blessings be upon ye!"
chris107: "Are you okay mother?"
Smon: "I'm good now, thanks to you sir!"
chris107: (Inspiration?)
Smon: (ok)
Smon: "I'd like to reward ye... Would this silver penny be enough sir?"
chris107: (Yay! Been ages and I think we will need it in the coming months )
Smon: She fishes in her pouch, procuces a tarnished silver.
chris107: "We need no reward for helping a fellow traveller. But thank you and may your onward journy be a safe one."
chris107: Infact he hands her one of his 7 gold coins. "Get a hot meal in the next town lady."
Smon: "As ye wish sir. Joyce Ever's me name. Tell me yers and I'll say a prayer for ye at Sky God Idol."
chris107: "And think kindly of us."
Smon: Her eyes widen at the gold coin. "Oh! Thank ye ever so much!"
Smon: Rosa: "Hello old woman."
chris107: "Safe travels Joyve Ever. May Bondorr protect you."
Smon: The crone nods. "And may the Lords of Earth, Wind Sea and Flame protect ye, likewise."
Smon: "Now, did ye see a bunch o pilgrims go past, day or so back?"
chris107: (Suspicious old git that I am, I'm looking for anagrams in Joyce Ever )
Smon: "I were a little delayed at the Citadel - terrible pain in me leg ye see..."
chris107: "We did indeed. He describes the encounter.
Smon: (any anagram unintentional, Joyce Ever courtesy of http://donjon.bin.sh/
Smon: "Ah, that'll be them! Better get a move on! Thank ye again! Have a lovely day!"
Smon: Joyce hobbles north at a sedate pace.
chris107: Useful site, thanks.
Smon: Rosa looks after her. "Strange woman..." Dagda nods, munching a sausage.
chris107: "Brave lady."
Smon: GM: Pressing on, a little after noon you see ahead the high walls of the Citadel of Water, surrounded by a moat that never dries even in the driest season.
chris107: (I really fancied this as Malenn & Hakeem's family home )
Smon: Tug's yellow banners flutter from the walls, emblazoned with his great hippo-face.
chris107: Hakeem looks forward to seeing the strange Hippo-Man.
Smon: Rosa: "Interesting place - I have spent quite some time here..."
chris107: "With Yusan?"
Smon: She shakes her head. "Oh no! Studying the books!"
Smon: "Apparently Yusan had a wizard of sorts who kept him from selling off all the library..."
Smon: You hear a horn blow, then the Citadel gate opens and a lone rider comes out, a heavy set Altanian.
chris107: "Hmm probably old Snake Eyes. Well maybe he did some good with his otherwise wasted life."
Smon: He looks vaguely familiar - one of the 100 Seawolf Minars Rapak sent south with Hakeem last year. About a third survived the war. Rosa whispers: "That's Tug's Steward, Ho-Tep."
Smon: The big man canters towards you.
chris107: "Hail, Ho-Tep. Please inform Lord Tug that an old friend is here to see him."
Smon: https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdqQ4QjW25DQTRi-HqV7iiwNrpdp8HDKfK3GoybOH4ImvodN9mr2h8rR5P_X5sORbUiq1tyPHeIeF1fpBiPJMnHr38U3o25avg3FKB9hy2qaXNqdnbB44ayMMM8T5HxmvwQGVYlvFxs9s/s1600/5a40664c284bbfe42222e744b7544263.jpg
chris107: Cripes! A mighty warrior indeed.
Smon: He raises a hand in greeting, then lowers it. "Lord Tug is not yet returned from the Council of Meda..." He squints. "Lord Hakeem? Is that you?"
chris107: "It is Ho-Tep Sea Wolf. But quietly no. My mission is a secret one."
Smon: In the fields around the Citadel you notice several scantily-clad women tilling the soil in preparation for the planting. You recall hearing that Tug put those of Yusan's harem without homes to honest work, farming and working in the kitchens of his hall.
chris107: Hakeem approaves.
Smon: Ho-Tep nods. "You are welcome, Lord Hakeem. I bid you enter." He nods cordially to Dagda.
chris107: Hakeem looks around. Inspecting the condition of the place.
Smon: Ho-Tep escorts you into the ancient Nerathi temple-fortress that was until recently Yusan's lair.
chris107: "We would ask for food and shelter for the evening and any small provisions you can spare for our onward journey."
Smon: It seems in decent condition, with a few Altani guards and twice as many Ghinoran.
chris107: "And perhaps the library, Rosa?"
Smon: Ho-Tep: "Of course. We will feast tonight - I'll escort you to the library. We have some other visitors..."
chris107: Hmmm other visitors...
chris107: Interesting.
Smon: Dagda looks bored and wanders off in the direction of the citadel kitchens, while Ho-Tep escorts Hakeem & Rosa to the great Library hall, lined with hundreds of books.
Smon: Rosa surveys the stacks. "My college library has so much more, even after the cuts..." she sighs.
Smon: You hear voices from towards the rear of the hall, among the rows of books.
chris107: Has Hakeem ever seen so many books in one place?
Smon: "Lass, I'm tellin' ye, that is nonsense! There ain't be no real Dragon Lords fer five thousand years!"
chris107: brb 2 mins
Smon: A voice that sounded male - and reminded Hakeem of Ursa - dwarf?
Smon: The response is female, delicate and slightly unearthly - fey: "Be that as it may, good Sir Choisin, these books of omens clearly indicate the possibility that lies within the Endless Cycle of Return..."
chris107: back
Smon: "Endless Cycle? Bah! Nerathi stuff and nonsense! Snakes and sunwheels!"
chris107: (The name is not ringing bells)
Smon: Ho-Tep looks to Hakeem. "We are entertaining the dwarf lord Choisin Mazargog, and the elven Princess Crystal of Diancecht."
chris107: Mazargog!
Smon: "Southerners, from beyond the Vale."
chris107: From Oricha?
chris107: Soth of the River of Visions?
Smon: "Aye. He was Lord of Mazargog fortress, before handing over to his daughter. She's the daughter of the king of Diancecht."
Smon: Ho-Tep: "There was another one, a priestess of Athena came with the princess - but she went out to gather reeds for papyrus. Not back yet."
chris107: "My Lord."
chris107: "And My Lady." Hakeem gives a rare smile to the beautiful elven princess.
Smon: GM: You reach the end of the stacks and the squabbling couple come into view - an elderly dwarf and a young elf maid, both richly garbed.
Smon: http://img00.deviantart.net/529a/i/2013/299/3/f/sage_by_joshcorpuz85-d6rvypx.jpg

Smon: The two look at Hakeem - are you still wearing Aristotle's filthy cloak?
chris107: Great pics.
Smon: (cheers)
chris107: I am
Smon: Princess Crystal wrinkles her nose at the smell.
Smon: Make a CHA check.
chris107: "I am sorry about the smell."!
chris107 rolls 1d20+1 and gets: 11, (+1) = 12
Smon: Choisin nods: "Ah, that's alright! Drowns out the stink o' her perfume, anyway!"
chris107: "What brings such fine folk here to the Citadel of Water?"
Smon: Crystal glares at the dwarven lord.
chris107: "This is Doctor Rosa.."
Smon: Choisin: "Research!" Crystal: "Indeed, investigation - the monks have..." Rosa nods to them both.
chris107: "And as I am heading into your lands, I owe you the courtesy of honesty."
chris107: "I am Hakeem Greywolf."
Smon: Choisin smiles: "Ah yes! Ho-Tep told me about you! Hotar's slave! You're quite the expert he says!"
Smon: Crystal: "Hakeem... the warlord?"
7:27pm 2017-4-29 Dragonbill Has entered the room
Dragonbill: Cool
Smon: Rosa is smiling at the compliment from Choisin the dwarf.
Smon: Hi Bill!
chris107: "I have been granted that honour my lady."
Dragonbill: Hi
chris107: Hey Bill!
Smon: Want to play Bill?
Dragonbill: For a small bit
chris107: Bill, we are off to get some flaming swords for Prince Shielditer
chris107: To fight The First King.
Smon: OK - suddenly the people in the Citadel of Water library hear the flap of mighty wings, as Shieldbiter's Royal Wyvern sets down on the roof above!
Smon: A guard bursts in: "It's the Dragonborn! The one who killed Yusan's chiefs!"
Dragonbill: Can only play 10 min
chris107: "That will be Prince Shieldbiter making his usual understated entrance." Grins Hakeem
Dragonbill: Hello
Smon: Shieldbiter reckoned correctly that Hakeem would make for the Citadel of Water. Leaving Wyvern on the roof, he soon finds Hakeem and several strange folk in a huge library.
Smon: Ho-Tep the Steward https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgdqQ4QjW25DQTRi-HqV7iiwNrpdp8HDKfK3GoybOH4ImvodN9mr2h8rR5P_X5sORbUiq1tyPHeIeF1fpBiPJMnHr38U3o25avg3FKB9hy2qaXNqdnbB44ayMMM8T5HxmvwQGVYlvFxs9s/s400/5a40664c284bbfe42222e744b7544263.jpg
chris107: "Welcome my friend."
Smon: nods. "You are always welcome here, Prince Shieldbiter."
Dragonbill: Thanks
chris107: He introduces PrincessCrystal, Sir Choisin and Doctor Rosa.
Dragonbill: I got wings
Dragonbill: Hello
chris107: Impressive.
Smon: Beside him elf princess Crystal waves hello - https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjO91p6Fr_-cZgtFAI9w8wa4DdYcrd0iYyGkf2oc4T95EDat34z4FygiYWhMjiommFd_cdv3euAZ0qJTD_CDBvPphlYvL6WUF8StZ3S2BxLoUUv5-PG61-K3pAZcKrsGuEDzexnrymUYaY/s320/da461273a1e011ec5868c8cef66ce33d.jpg she smiles: "Those are lovely wings!"
Dragonbill: Thanks
Smon: The dwarf sage Choisin grunts - http://img00.deviantart.net/529a/i/2013/299/3/f/sage_by_joshcorpuz85-d6rvypx.jpg
chris107: "Prince Shiledbiter, perhaps you would be so kind as to fly us to the island where we believe the magical swords are?"
Dragonbill: Okay
Smon: Princess Crystal: "Before you do that, perhaps you could go fetch my friend Octavia? She went to gather rushes to make papyrus, but she's late back..."
chris107: "Once our work here is done. Many thnks."
Smon: "...She should be west, somewhere along the stream."
chris107: "Shall we go together Shieldbiter? In case there is danger?"
chris107: (We may get to kill something Bill )
Smon: Dr Rosa is already stuck into a book.
Dragonbill: Okay
chris107: "If Princess Crystal and Doctor Rosa will excuse us while they...research."
Dragonbill:
chris107: hehe
Smon: GM: Hakeem and Shieldbiter join Sh's newly armoured shieldmaiden Helga on the royal wyvern and take flight from the library roof, heading west.
Smon: You soon find the stream a few miles west of the Citadel, with many bullrushes along its banks, but no priestess...
Smon: Shieldbiter with your Dragonsight, make a WIS+Prof check.
Smon: DC 10
chris107: good luck Bill
Smon: roll d20
Smon: Will be +6 bonus so need 4+.
Dragonbill rolls 1d20+6 and gets: 1, (+6) = 7
chris107: drat!
Dragonbill: Dang
Smon: No sign of the priestess, and visibility is poor with a rainy haze.
chris107: Can Hakeem try at all?
Smon: hum, DC 20 for Hakeem.
chris107: or maybe we should land close to where the lady should have been and search on foot?
chris107 rolls 1d20 and gets: 14,
chris107: +6 !
chris107: = 20
Smon: Hakeem spots an area of churned up ground near the water's edge.
chris107: He taps the Dragonborn Prince on the shoulder and points.
Smon: Pointing it out to Shi, with his Dragonsight he can see there was a struggle, it looks like several humans ambushed a single figure, overwhelmed them and carried them west into an area of light forest.
chris107: "We must rescue the lady!"
chris107: "And kill the miscreants!"
Dragonbill: Yeah
Smon: What are you going to do?
Dragonbill: Follow the tracks
chris107: Hakeem holds on tight.
Smon: Helga's new gear data:image/jpeg;
chris107: Preparing to draw the sword of Bondorr when danger presents itself.
Smon: Are you landing? Dismounting?
Dragonbill: Yeah
chris107: Bill's in charge
Smon: http://smons.blogspot.co.uk/2017/04/ep.html
Smon: GM: You land the wyvern near the edge of the stream.
Smon: From here the tracks are clear in the muddy ground.
Smon: Helga: "Shall I watch the Wyvern while you're away, Sir?"
chris107: Sword and shield at the ready.
Dragonbill: Sure
Smon: Helga nods happily, stroking the great beast's broad muzzle.
Smon: It purrs.
chris107:
Smon: Following the tracks, Hakeem & Shieldbiter sneak into the trees.
Smon: If you are Stealthing, roll DEX+Prof
chris107: (Now I'm pleased I went for breast plate...)
chris107 rolls 1d20+8 and gets: 15, (+8) = 23
Smon: Hakeem moves with catlight grace.
Smon: Shieldbiter are you keeping your heavy greaves on? If you remove them you can sneak bettter but lose a point of AC.
Dragonbill rolls 1d20+6 and gets: 10, (+6) = 16
Smon: (half plate > breastplate if you remove greaves)
Smon: You can roll again (disadvantage fr heavy armour) or remove greaves?
Dragonbill: Nah
Smon: remove greaves?
chris107: good luck with the next roll Bill, would be good to surprise our foes.
chris107: We can rage
Smon: Moving through the trees, after an hour of careful tracking you see signs of a camp ahead.
Smon: OK I'm assuming Shieldbiter stowed his greaves, so AC 18>17.
chris107: creep forward to investigate further. Looking out for the missing lady.
Smon: Sneaking closer you see half a dozen assorted tents around a campfire. Then you spot the two lookouts up in the trees - doesn't seem they've spotted you yet. They have bows.
Smon: Men are cooking a pig over the campfire, and sitting on a log across from it is a white robed woman, heavily tied up.
Dragonbill: I'll shoot with my bow

Dragonbill: Let's kill them all
Smon: You might be able to circle round north & get closer, sneak in.
chris107: (I agree Bill, but don't want Ruggio to escape or the priestess to get killed)
Smon: Depends how alert the lookouts are.
Dragonbill: Shoot the look outs
chris107: If you are bowing the look outs Bikll, Hakeem will creep round and try get close enough to pounce on Ruggio, then we kill them all?
Dragonbill: Okay
chris107: Maybe if their attention is drawn away, Hakeem's chances will improve?
Smon: Lookouts are at short range for Sh. If he could take them both out in 1 round (dmg is d10+5) the camp might not be alerted.

chris107: that was a good fight!:D
Smon: I liked playing Ruggio, spending all my minions.
chris107: hehe it was fun. Reveange really is a dish best served cold.
Smon: Ho-Tep: "With Ruggio gone at last there should be little obstacle now to establishing peace in the Vale."
chris107: His death has been a long time coming.
chris107: "Aye, and smell better."
Smon: The princess sips her wine and smiles. "Now trade can flourish between these lands and Oricha."
Smon: GM I hope you left your cloak behind for the feast?
chris107: Probably a good idea
Smon: Dr Piercemuller is deep in conversation with the dwarf sage Choisin.
chris107: Though I am enjoying playing incognito Hakeem.
Smon: Princess: "Oh, Lord Hakeem... I was also incognito, of a sort."
chris107: Hakeem looks a little confused "Milady?"
Smon: She smiles. "My name is not actually Crystal Moonsilver. It's Lirthache Domnavrente - a bit of a mouthful for some humans, I fear."
chris107: "May I ask why you travel incognito my lady?"
Smon: Crystal looks into her wine, not answering. "Lord Hakeem... Did I hear you say you intended to fly to this island?"
chris107: He respects her privacy
chris107: "Yes my lady. I had intended to travel south on foot. But the tiely arrival of Lord Shieldbiter has proved useful."
Smon: She nods. "What exactly do you think happens, when a rider flies over the ocean, out of sight of land? Do you expect a happy landing?"
Smon: There seems an odd bitterness in her voice.
chris107: "Erm... I am not wise in the ways of the world milady."
chris107: "Perhaps you can enlighten me?"
Smon: "Indeed... Oh, I'm sorry. I mean no offence."
chris107: "None taken. I did not mean to sadden you."
Smon: She sighs. "My brother was a warrior. A Tarn-Rider - the giant eagles? He thought he could fly to the Islands. My father warned him. He didn't listen."
chris107: "But if I am to fulfil my duty I must reach Three Swords Isle."
Smon: "He never came home." She looks down into her glass. "Once out of sight of land there is only the endless ocean. Nothing to see, no landmarks, no resting place. The steed's wings tire. Eventually..."
chris107: "Have you no news of your brother? Is he lost?"
chris107: "Perhaps..."
Smon: "He is lost". She looks up. "Of course we would be happy to offer you the use of our finest ship. In gratitude for your rescue of Octavia. And in token of future friendship."
chris107: "Perhaps if I could take ship, I could search for him and fulfil my duty?"
chris107: "Then I thank you. But I will search for your brother if I can."
Smon: She shakes her head. "The sea is his grave. If he had found land he would have returned to us. I only wish to ensure you not share his fate. The Foamrunner is a fine ship, the best in my father's fleet."
chris107: "My condolances then milady."
chris107: "And my thanks!"
Smon: The dwarf Choisin looks up from his cups. "The rest o' ye father's fleet is barges an' fishin' trawlers!"
Smon: Choisin looks bleary eyed at Hakeem. "Elves, eh? Her dad rules a village of five hundred, and they style themselves kings and queens!"
Smon: Crystal gives the Dwarf Lord an icy glare, sipping her wine.
chris107: "I value your gift and your help."
chris107: He studiously avoids been drawn.
Smon: Crystal smiles: "Thank you, Lord Hakeem. I will be here another week - if you need the ship before then, I can write you a letter to my father. Or we can travel together."
chris107: "My time is short. If I may have the letter in the morning?"
Smon: She nods. "Certainly. Is there anything you wish to know about the South?"
chris107: "Whatever you can tell me.."
chris107: "And especially of the Isle of Three Swords."
Smon: She smiles. "I'm an Elf. We know a lot. Three Sword Isle? Hmm..."
Smon: /roll d20
Smon rolls 1d20 and gets: 8,
Smon: "Didn't a priest bury three sword there? To keep them from the trolls? Something like that."
Smon: /roll d20
Smon rolls 1d20 and gets: 11,
chris107: "I have heard there may be three flaming blades there, yes."
chris107: "The place is infested by Trolls?"
Smon: Choisin: "Ye're half right, lass. Twere a Priest of Bondor, god of Swords. And he hid the Flaming Swords in a Cave on the Isle, guarded by Trolls, until the Champion would come to retrieve 'em."
Smon: Both nod. "Aye". "So I've heard."
Smon: Ho-Tep swigs his ale. "Sounds unlikely to me."
chris107: "We shall see..."
Smon: Dr Piercemuller's ears prick up, she fishes under the table and produces her book from her pack. "Yes! You see the Three Flaming Swords! Given to the Three Peers of Bondorr..."
chris107: "And I must try."
Smon: "...This could be the same blades!"
Smon: She shows a picture - it depicts in stylised form a greatsword, a longsword & a shortsword, all burning.
Smon: ooc stopping soon
chris107: Yeah, it's getting late.
chris107: Hakeem looks at the pictures in wonder.
Smon: "This could be just what you need to stop the First King!"
Smon: ok will stop there

Smon: LOL
Smon: Swim?
7:14pm 2017-4-27 Sandor Sunneson Has entered the room
Sandor Sunneson: test
chris107: wb Fergus
Smon: We see you F
Smon: chris107: I realised that even if Hakeem gets to Oricha. He has no means to reach Three Swords Isle
chris107: He'll figure something out when he gets there. That's very Hakeem.
Sandor Sunneson: that was scary, all of a sudden thought the chat page and dragonsfoot thing was illegal and mcafee kickwed in
Sandor Sunneson: anyway, :), good evening
chris107: mcafee are hateful
Sandor Sunneson: Lets plod on
Smon: GM: Morning 29/1/4447 BCCC You take your leave and head west a little, then turn south, up into the wild hills...
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 4,
Smon: You hike up rugged hill and down forested dale through the Arcadian landscape of the high hills, few signs that Man has ever lived here, just the occsasional mossy ruin or fallen wall.
chris107: heading towards the Citadel of Water..
Sandor Sunneson: Dagda of the oak woods feels at home in such landscapes
Smon: The sun passes its zenith. You walk on. White tailed deer scatter at your approach.
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 2,
chris107: "Fine country Dagda."
Sandor Sunneson: Unfortunately evil festers in all these lands somewhere
Smon: There a Ghinarian Blood Eagle circles high above - dangerous to lone travellers, they rarely attack groups.
chris107: "I spent most of last year clearing the evil from the Vale.
Sandor Sunneson: (no water vampires please)
Smon: Towards evening a light drizzle has begun to fall when you see smoke to the south-east, looks like a village.
chris107: Kalmisj perhaps?
Sandor Sunneson: Looks very serene here hak
chris107: "I'd really like to pass these villiages by."
Sandor Sunneson: does a ferry of some kind take us over the river?
Sandor Sunneson: Go into wolf traveller mode,
Smon: There's a ford.
chris107: Maybe rest there tonight then and press on to the Citadel of Water tomorrow?"
Sandor Sunneson: Say we are adventurers looking for the sword of bandax, that should do, just stick to that story
Sandor Sunneson: cool
chris107: (Hakeem is a Berserker not a wolf totem Barb, Sandor)
chris107: Aye cover up as best we can with skins and cloaks and slipinto the village.
Smon: GM: You head down from the hills.
Sandor Sunneson: (wolf totem barb is the latest mode ;), it's what the trendy people wear)
Smon: Reaching the ford you see fields around the town, sheep grazing.
Smon: A shepherd boy is grazing his flock just south of the ford, he watches your approach warily, two great Ghinarian shep-hounds close by.
chris107: (Hakeem is an old school nutter. None of this trendy stuff for him )
chris107: Hakeem thinks of Max.
chris107: Lost for the present.
Smon: The boy (about 14) calls out: "Hello there!"
Smon: https://www.gutenberg.org/files/15659/15659-h/images/illus-160.jpg
Sandor Sunneson: Greetings young man, don't be afraid, we are adventurers on a quest, we mean you no harm
Smon: He nods. "You should go speak to Thegn Oriana in the Hall, then."
Sandor Sunneson: link not working on my PC
Sandor Sunneson: We shall
chris107: Hakeem nods to the boy.
Smon: https://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=i&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=images&cd=&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwj6hO_3r8XTAhUlDsAKHb_4C-gQjRwIBw&url=http%3A%2F%2Farchives.dailynews.lk%2F2012%2F08%2F06%2Ffea25.asp&psig=AFQjCNFMBGacyoFZbdaVFWU75NyJT2eCww&ust=1493407761697980
Sandor Sunneson: (Sword of bandax?? ok?)
chris107: (nor mine)
Smon: Second one better?
Smon: http://archives.dailynews.lk/2012/08/06/z_p15-David.jpg
Smon: Last try
chris107: (No, still no go there)
Sandor Sunneson: hmmmm.............at the bottom there is a pic of a shephard after bible stuff
chris107: Yup!
Sandor Sunneson: Always thought you were an athiast Simon
chris107: (Sword of bandax?)
Smon: The boy watches you past. You splash across the ford, only a foot or so deep, the water quite warm in the afternoon sunlight.
chris107: "Is there an inn lad?"
Sandor Sunneson: Can you take us to the hall
chris107: "We are not fit company for grand Thegns."
Smon: Ahead of you you see a farmer with broad-brimmed hat leading a white cow into the stockade.
Sandor Sunneson: We'll smile and walk past him
chris107: "Is there an in around here goodman farmer?"
Smon: The boy shakes his head. "Nearest Inn is Bratanis, 15 miles north on the road. But don't worry, she's not that grand. She was a slave girl until recently!"
chris107: "Then let's go see this fine Thegn."
Sandor Sunneson: (Bet she'll have a fine set of mammories)
Smon: GM: You head through the fields, watched curiously by the locals.
Sandor Sunneson: Head to hall, (Dagda will use his alias Angus)
chris107: (And I'll stick to Onigan)
Smon: Entering through the open gate, you see a smallish Lord's Hall ahead, at the centre of the somewhat dilapidated village - you know this place was sacked by Yusan some years back.
Sandor Sunneson: (I'll never remember that, what's wrong with Brian??)
Sandor Sunneson:
chris107: hehe
Sandor Sunneson: (call you O then)
chris107: I'm good with BRIAN IF YOU LIKE.
Sandor Sunneson: cool
chris107: Soz for caps
Smon: A guard stands at the hall gate, clearly just a peasant in his smock, leaning on a crude spear, a too-big iron helm tilted back on his head.
Smon: "Hello there friends!" He calls out. "What business brings you to Thegn Oriana's Hall?"
Sandor Sunneson: Hello guard
Sandor Sunneson: We are here to see Theign
chris107: "Could we speak with Thegn Oriana please. We are weary and looking for a bed for the night."
Smon: "That ain't her name, tis a title friend."
Sandor Sunneson: We are on a quest and need some shelter for the night
Smon: He nods. "Aye? What's your quest?"
Sandor Sunneson: I am Angus and this is Brian, what is her name?
Smon: "Oriana, Thegn to the Lady Thuvia of Bratanis."
Sandor Sunneson: Looking for the Sword of Bordax
Smon: "Aye? Never heard of it. Do you know Hotar?"
Sandor Sunneson: I don't, Brian, is Hotar a friend of yours??
chris107: "Afraid not."
Smon: OOC Hakeem vaguely recognises the name as one of Tug's men.
chris107: (Thanks)
Smon: "Well, he's in there with her. Hold on, I'll announce you..."
Sandor Sunneson: (Tug??)
Smon: He turns and ducks inside. "Angus and Brian, travellers, seek yer audience milady!"
chris107: (An ex pc)
chris107: (A giant hippo-man)
Smon: A woman's voice comes back: "Bid them enter, Aulus."
Sandor Sunneson: (ok so no threat_
Sandor Sunneson: _
Sandor Sunneson: )
Sandor Sunneson: we enter
Smon: Aulus the guard bids you into the dimly lit hall. Near the far end you see a statuesque blonde on a small throne, talking with a muscular Altanian warrior with huge greataxe - Hotar.
Smon: Oriana: "Welcome friends - enter."
Smon: https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgu2muGWpZgIZWVrYKMN5q_2BncffXClNKw_hfJyBrc9nZfMtk2-OKjV-pII48iqLSa_7XshsWu8PeZ_raNLJeTZciNGx6-OoEq5nC713q_ZUzh-nCmcU5QR3eU_jgs4EG3tPbbiYEpOCY/s400/1297025-1359302865.jpg
chris107: Hakeem bids them hello
chris107: (Ah yes)
Smon: Hotar on the left - https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9_uGvwcEPsGP_WaJKuua2Q4Tpi8SukmWFGNGuppfCSMwfPWQM8grod6gG58QUICoCsAaoK36F3BJ7e5ffRPjIcagaeiKyKYM_9CBFJknkegzc_2y-48Lqm82SIIDY5ExGVjCTe4HVYhM/s400/00c4f393f50b5ec89789768183f1ba17.jpg
Smon: Aulus: "They seek the sword of Bordax!"
chris107: I remember the new pics now.
Sandor Sunneson: Greetings
Sandor Sunneson: And a bed for the night too please
Smon: As you step into the candlelight close to the throne, you see Hotar regarding you keenly, Hakeem especially...
chris107: "Brian, how do you do?"
Smon: Oriana: "Of course. First let us get you refreshments. Aulus, if you'd be so kind..."
Smon: The grizzled peasant sighs, sets down his spear and heads for the kitchen.
Sandor Sunneson: And I am Angus
Smon: Oriana: "Please sit..." she indicates two stools.
Sandor Sunneson: (such magnificent mammories those 2)
chris107: Brian does so
Sandor Sunneson: Nods in thanks
Sandor Sunneson: and sits
Smon: Oriana: "I'm very well, thank you. This sword, I don't think I've heard of it ...?"
Smon: Hotar grunts: "What way are you heading?"
Smon: Hakeem make WIS+Prof roll
chris107: "I'm following Angus."
chris107 rolls 1d20+6 and gets: 16, (+6) = 22
Smon: Aulus returns with breadrolls, olives and red wine.
chris107: yum
chris107: "Thank you, this looks great."
Smon: Hotar definitely recognises Hakeem. He was in the sea battle against Tal Lorvas' undead horde, slaying several skeletons, then again he fought with you against Yusan at the final battle.
chris107: (It's your sword Sandor )
Smon: However Hotar says nothing.
Smon: Oriana: "Please, eat." She takes a roll, nibbles.
Sandor Sunneson: towards the coast, giving a tip off about a sword, sword of Bordax
Sandor Sunneson: you 2 heard about it?
Sandor Sunneson: Thank you
chris107: If Hakeem gets a chance to talk to Hotar alone he will thank him for his confidence and ask him to keep it.
Smon: "The coast? That way lies the Tower of Oriax, now held by Amazons of Highhaven, in service to Lady Meda the Sorceress."
Smon: "And to the north, the lost City of Thracia..." She looks to Hotar. "Perhaps there is a connection?"
Smon: Hotar: "Hmm."
Smon: Laconic fellow.
chris107: hehe
Smon: Aulus pours your wine, Oriana sips.
Sandor Sunneson: We had a really nice day, walking through the dales and forests, reminded me of home, I
chris107: Hakeem sips and enjoys the olives. Wondering what his new pal will come up with
Smon: Oriana: "You see, Hotar was just telling me his concubine is having strange visions, which he thinks are of the Lost City. And she's been babbling about a First King Rising In the Darkness. Very strange, yes?"
Smon: Hotar shrugs.
Sandor Sunneson: This wine is lovely, we make a malted barley beveridge where I'm from, much rougher than this
Smon: Oriana to Dagda: "Yes, these lands are beautiful. I grew up here..."
chris107: Hakeem shrugs (This vision is becoming all to familiar)
Smon: "Malted barley? Really? How interesting."
Smon: Dagda make CHA+Prof check
Sandor Sunneson: Yes, normal barley, seeped in water
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20 and gets: 8,
Sandor Sunneson: and when the shoot appears from the bud, you dry the barley and that gives you malted barley
Smon: +5 = 13, he's not *too* boring.
chris107: hehe
Sandor Sunneson: lol
Smon: Oriana listens attentively, you get the impression she doesn't see too many visitors.
Sandor Sunneson: Do you make this wine yourself??
chris107: "Would it be possible to rest here the night?"
Sandor Sunneson: Or from the area?
Smon: "Yes, we have vinyards on the slopes south of town."
Smon: Outside evening shadows lengthen.
Sandor Sunneson: Interesting, might be worth a visit one day
Smon: Oriana: "Of course, you may sleep here in my hall. Aulus will bring blankets."
chris107: "You are truely generous. Thank you."
Sandor Sunneson: have you travelled away from the area at all?
Sandor Sunneson: Looks very cosy, thank you
chris107: "Angus, you say we must be off at the crack of dawn in search of this sword of yours?"
Smon: Oriana sighs sadly. "When I was a girl we went on a pilgramage to the Temple-Tomb of Belaras - twice! And I've been south of course..." She shudders at the memory. "As a captive." Hotar stands. "Milady, I'll be heading back to Ghutaris now."
Smon: Hotar glances over to Hakeem. "If you come south, be welcome at my Hall ...strangers."
chris107: "Hotar, perhaps you could show me where the privy is?"
chris107: "On your way out..."
Sandor Sunneson: Oriana, can you show me the wine stores please
Smon: Hotar nods. "aye, this way..."
chris107: "And yes. Thank you."
Sandor Sunneson: I'd be interested to see howw it is kept
chris107: Hakeem whispers his lines from above.
Smon: Oriana smiles at Dagda. "Certainly - we have a cellar, I'm afraid the stock is low at present - the bandits drank it all you see..."
chris107: "Our location must not become known. I remember your bravery and hope I can trust you again?"
Smon: Oriana leads Dagda over to stairs & down to the cellar, Aulus following, while Hotar & Hakeem talk outside.
Sandor Sunneson: be interesting to see this, lead the way (leaving H and H chatting)
Smon: Hotar nods. "Aye of course my lord."
Smon: Down in the cellar Oriana lights a torch, illuminating rows of dusty empty racks and amphorae, along with a few full bottles.
chris107: "Thank you Hotar. I won't forget this."
Smon: Hotar glances around, checking you're unobserved. "Anything I should know?"
Smon: Oriana: "This used to be a magnificent collection, *sigh*..."
chris107: "Crowfinger has put a huge price on my head and I need to be out of sight for a while."
Sandor Sunneson: Dark and dusky, good place for storage, no ventilation either, with our barley product, we store it more at ground level,
chris107: "To plan my battle with the War Bringer come the end of the rainy season."
Sandor Sunneson: Don't worry, one day, with hard work and toil, you will bring it to life again
Smon: Hotar nods. "My lord, if you get a chance perhaps you should speak to my woman - an Oriax girl. She has been speaking like the Psychic Defenders do when they inhale the purple smokes..."
Smon: "I fear there may be truth in her words."
Smon: Oriana nods, leading Dagda down between the narrow racks,
Sandor Sunneson: I can see your frustration, but you have a natural charm that people can relate too and you can suceed
chris107: "I have heard her words from many lips. I will come in the morning. How do we find you?"
Smon: Oriana smiles: "My father Alcibiades was a great lord - and a great connoisseur."
Smon: Dagda notices the Lady is pressed rather closely against him between the narrow racks.
Sandor Sunneson: Think of him, he sounds like he made a lasting impression on you, positive thoughts and attutude can =go a long way
chris107: Ghutaris is about a half day away?
Sandor Sunneson: You smell nice lady,
Smon: Hotar: "South - Ghutaris, the Hall. I hold it with my sister, Isis."
Smon: Oriana: "I do, why thank you? A little perfume, from Ahyf..."
chris107: "We shall be at your halls on the morrow."
Smon: Dagda can try another CHA check
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20 and gets: 20,
Smon: LOL
chris107: Another Ray!
Sandor Sunneson: lol, wish Sandor got that on his hit roll
chris107: Rey
Smon: Oriana looks down, blushing, then up, doe eyed - definitely pressing in on him now..."
Sandor Sunneson: Who Rey?
Smon: Hotar: "Should we go rescue your man, Lord Hakeem? Oriana has a hungry appetite."
chris107: (Another of the original PC's. Played by Amalric from the Redstar game)
Smon: Oriana raises her lips to kiss Dagda...
Sandor Sunneson: I've never been in such a situation in a wine cellar before,
chris107: "I think he will be fine." Hakeem grins, bid Hotar good night and goes in search of a blanket.
Sandor Sunneson: Dagda, will kiss her
Sandor Sunneson: I've been hoping that would happen all day,
Smon: Hotar grins back, nods. "As you will." He heads for the open gate, wolf-whistling a happy barbarian tune about sundering skulls.
chris107: This prophesy needs exploring. Sooner rather than later.
Sandor Sunneson: I could see you were quite tense,
chris107: Hakeem thinks it has something to do with Dyson and the first King of Nera.
Smon: Re-entering the hall, Hakeem sees Aulus emerging from the cellar, a little dusty, closing the door behind him.
Smon: Aulus: "Ah, blankets, right?"
Sandor Sunneson: Angus will please the lady as she wishes
Smon: Oriana responds passionately to Dagda's kiss, slipping out of her robes for some rather dusty lovemaking on the cellar floor...
Smon: Apparently she keeps furs down there too, who knew?
Smon: In the morning...
chris107: "Thank you Aulus. Blankets would be great. An early night for me."
Sandor Sunneson: Angus will appear at breakfast#
Smon: 30/1/47 Next morning Hakeem rises at the crack of dawn.
Sandor Sunneson: Morning Brian !
chris107: Can he scrounge up trail rations for the day?
chris107: "Morning Angus."
Smon: Angus awakens groggily in the wine cellar - a lot of wine was drunk along with a lot of nookie, empty bottles scattered about.
Smon: Thegn Oriana lies naked in her furs, still sleeping. Make a DC 15 CON save Dagda/Angus.
chris107: Make tracks to Ghutaris?
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20 and gets: 18,
Sandor Sunneson: yes
Smon: Dagda's iron constitution shrugs off the excessive consumption!
Sandor Sunneson: high rolls in fights too please
Smon: Still slightly unsteady, he heads up the stairs, out of the cellar and greets Hakeem.
Sandor Sunneson: On we go my friend
Smon: Aulus is laying a table for breakfast in the Hall.
chris107: "Thanks Aulus, may we take the left overs for the road?"
Smon: "Aye, as you will."
Smon: No sign of Oriana waking up as you take breakfast and pack your rations.
Sandor Sunneson: Please thank the Thegn for the lovely evening
Smon: Aulus cracks a grin. "Aye."
chris107: "Aye, please do..."
Sandor Sunneson: Hopefully we will meet again, she will make a success of this place
Smon: /roll d8
Smon rolls 1d8 and gets: 1,
Smon: Outside the rain is pouring down, drumming on the Hall roof, turning the road to mud.
Sandor Sunneson: ?
Smon: Aulus: "Nice weather for cats."
chris107: Ghutaris bound..
Sandor Sunneson: Thank you for your kind hospitality Aulus, see you around
chris107: "Aye but we won't melt. Thank you for looking after us."
Smon: Aulus smiles. "Farewell, friends." GM: You head out into the rain, heading for Ghutaris.
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 4,
Smon: You're a bit over an hour south of Kalmisj when you see a grey-robed party of men and women approaching - looks like pilgrims.
Sandor Sunneson: Angus and Brian mode Chris?
chris107: H pulls his cloak tight around him.
chris107: Yup, if we need to.
Smon: "Omm... Ommm...." they chant, striding forward with their staves swinging.
Sandor Sunneson: cool
chris107: Barbarian senses atingle for danger.
Sandor Sunneson: how many?
Smon: The leader, a bushy-bearded man, nods to you as they pass, not stopping. 12 of them.
chris107: Do we recognise their devotions?
Sandor Sunneson: approx ? 10? 20?
Smon: They have water/earth/wind/fire emblems on pendants.
Sandor Sunneson: wis check?
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20 and gets: 14,
Smon: int
Smon: Elementalists!
chris107 rolls 1d20 and gets: 7,
Sandor Sunneson: ONT 11
Sandor Sunneson: INT 11
Smon: Probably they visited the holy Citadel of Water and are now heading north to the Sky God Idol.
Sandor Sunneson: Lets move on?
Smon: The pilgrims pass you, and you head on.
chris107: "Let's pass by peacefully"
Smon: A couple hours later through the pouring rain you see Ghutaris ahead.
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 2,
Smon: A leather-armoured guard at the gate bids you enter, escorting you to the Lord's Hall, slightly larger than the last one.
chris107: Seeking Hotar
Smon: Inside out of the rain you see in the Hall Hotar lounging on a heavy throne. A shapely woman naked but for eye-glasses sprawls at his feet on silk cushions, while a redhead barbarian girl is practicing throwing knives at a straw dummy.

Smon: The concubine https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNJXcjMHAgacYEint-LAHb4Fuxf9lZ_kA-50oZitvwPfacca70C1HD-zL_LOtBrxCh1mHzj-fqBmidL5E9I4TFLcoaVif86_NiveHszX7MwYAdtq7LOEsxx8sY6Qa1wVynDViIMACJVr8/s400/morningcoffee_by_fransmensinkartist-daskh5s.jpg
chris107: Dr. Rosa
Smon: Hotar looks up from criticising Isis' throwing techniques. "Friends! Welcome! Woman, fetch beer and meat for our guests!"
Smon: The naked woman gets to her feet and saunters off, leaving the book she was reading lying at the foot of the throne.
Smon: Hotar: "Come in, seat yourself by my fire. Gods, I hate this weather, eh?"
Smon: He seems a lot more cheerful than last night.
chris107: "Thank you my friend. I trust we can seak freely here?"
Smon: Isis looks up from throwing the daggers. "Eh... hello there you two."
Sandor Sunneson: You seem happier here ? That is good to see
Smon: Hotar nods to Hakeem. "Aye, Isis - you recognise Lord Hakeem." She nods. "Of course." Isis bows. "I called for you at the Clan Moot."
Smon: Hotar looks to Dagda. "Aye, well... Oriana can set me on edge, a little."
chris107: "Then I am in your debt Isis."
Sandor Sunneson: Good for you tyou are more at ease in this abode
Smon: Isis smiles: "No debt my lord. We needed a strong leader. With you we have crushed Yusan and saved these people."
Smon: The naked concubine returns bearing a heaped platter of meat, bread, and a huge flagon of foaming beer.
chris107: "We will make the vale and all these lands about a place for good folks to thrive."
Smon: Hotar: "Better victuals than Oriana's hall!" He tears off a big chunk of beef.
Smon: Hotar: "Oriana desires a husband... I do not desire to wed."
chris107: Hakeem enjoys the rough feast.
Smon: The woman with the glasse serves you, then stands there.
Smon: Hotar: "This is Dr Rosa, the one who 'babbles'..."
Smon: Isis: "Not this again, Hotar?"
Sandor Sunneson: Thank you,
Smon: She rolls her eyes.
chris107: "So tell me of these prophesy? It is not the first time I have heard these words."
Smon: Hotar: "Dr Piercemuller - Rosa - can tell it better than I. She has been reading, a book from the Citadel Lord Tug lent her."
chris107: "Which book is this?"
Smon: The naked concubine nods. "Yes that's right. A History of the Dragon Lords... Almost all mere conjecture, I fear, but snippets of good info..." She adjusts her glasses.
Smon: Hotar is looking her up and down, enjoying the sight of his woman as she talks on. "You're familiar with the history of ancient Oricha? The Dragon Kings? The legend of Bondorr?"
chris107: "I know my lord Bondorr became a God."
chris107: "But much past that is lost in our stories."
Smon: Rosa: "Yes, of course. There has been at least one more Bondorr since - an Avatar, or perhaps just a Man wearing the armour, wielding the Sword... He destroyed the Second Empire - the Doomfire Empire - after the Rain of Colourless Fire that burned the Dragonborn cities."
chris107: (OOC - Listned to War of the Worlds earlier. I think Hassan should be known as the Thunderchild.)
Smon: "That would have been approximately two millenia ago, according to the Obelisk of Balizkonar."
Smon:
chris107: Hakeem listens entranced..
Smon: (do better than HMS Thunderchild!)
chris107: (Lets hope so, but just as brave!)
Smon: "The Doomfire empire were human at first, I think, but with the blood of the Orichalan dragon lords... later they seem to have become infected with Infernal taint... But that concerns us not."
chris107: "Tell me all you know lady."
Smon: (yeah I love the Thunderchild bit of WotW)
Smon: Rosa's glasses seem to be misting up as she becomes quite excited.
chris107: hehe
Smon: "I believe the Ghinoran city Thracia was built over an ancient city of the Dragon Lords!"
chris107: "I have been there..."
Smon: Hotar munches away, listening avidly. Isis yawns ostentatiously.
Smon: Rosa's eyes widen. "You've seen the deep caverns?!"
chris107: "I have, and spoken with the sphinx."
Smon: Rosa nods: "A sphinx - of course! Well we know Thracia was established ca 150 BCCC, in the aftermath of the fall of the original Orichalan Dragon Empire (ca -2900 to -575 BCCC) and subsequent Rise of Ghinor (-450 to 350 BCCC)...."
chris107: Ontussa
Smon: She has an amazing ability to speak parentheses.
chris107:
Sandor Sunneson: That's along time ago
Smon: "We know the Ghinorans dwell deep, and that they enslaved humanoids - the Beastmen. But I believe there is an even older Orichalan city, from the First Empire, far beneath the ruins. And that something down there is stirring. I have been having strange dreams..."
Smon: Isis: "Tell me about it." /sarcasm
chris107: "Lasword and armour of Bondorr were to be reunited. That a third coming of mighty Bondorr be possible?dy, could it be possible, after two milennia. If the
chris107: Hmmm that did not type well
Smon: Rosa glances annoyedly at Isis, then goes on. "Yes, my lord - Lord Hakeem?"
chris107: I'll try type that again
Smon: "That is certainly possible. If evil is stirring, then naturally its ancient enemy would rise to meet it once more..."
chris107: My lady, could it be possible that after two milennia and with the sword and armour etc.
chris107: This 'First King'
Smon: Isis: "Evil is stirring - the Black Sun!" Rosa shakes her head.
Sandor Sunneson: (no doubt it will be evil stirring, why can't it be a lost world of cooks, waiting to bring their freshly baked loaves to share with the people of the wilderlands world)
Smon: Rosa: "It's more than that - I can feel it! And if you bothered to read the books..."
chris107: (Heroes will be made this way Sandor)
Sandor Sunneson: This is a big blood bath waiting to happen Lord Hakeem, when the rain stops the blood will flow
Smon: Isis glares at Rosa, fingering her throwing dagger meaningfully.
Smon: Hotar: "We must defeat the Black Sun - but we can't afford to be caught between two fronts."
chris107: "Pray, tell us Rosa."
chris107: "I feel this is VERY important."
Smon: Rosa nods to Hakeem: "You understand - the Black Sun are powerful, and evil, but they are essentially a human threat. Even the Warbringer is half human. But what I felt..."
chris107: Hakeem listens intently.
chris107: Breathing heavily
chris107: sweat beading on his brow.
Smon: She gulps, paling slightly and quivering (which Hotar likes). "The First King... I think it must be the First King of the Dragon Lords - the greatest of them all!"
Smon: Hotar: "I have seen snakes, making their way north - towards Thracia."
chris107: "The First King of the Dragon Lords?"
chris107: "He who fell to the first Bondorr?"
Sandor Sunneson: As in slithering towards the city?Like being attracted to a magnet?
Smon: Rosa: "Yes - there are no real records of that time, as far as I can tell. Just something called the War of the Pious and the Philosophers - the Pious won... and old Altanian legends of escaping Dragonlord bondage under Bondor's tutelage."
Smon: Hotar nods to Dagda. "Yes."
chris107: Hakeem stands throwing off his dirty cloak and furs.
chris107: He draws the mighty blade from it's simple sheath.
Smon: Rosa: "But I did find a reference that the Dragonborn master-smith Shieldbiter forged a blade that could pierce the scales of the Dragon King..." She gasps as Hakeem draws the Sword!
Smon: Rosa: "The... the..."
Smon: Hotar: "Bondorr!"
Smon: Isis crosses her arms, nods. "So you reforged it, Lord Hakeem?"
chris107: "Sword and armour both. Reunited after two thousand years."
Smon: Hotar grins: "A great omen!"
chris107: He grins sheepishly at Isis..
Smon: Rosa looks quite flushed. "My..."
Smon: She looks about to faint.
Sandor Sunneson: Dagda will catch her
chris107: "Dagda my friend. It seems your arrival has been timely. You stand on the edge of momentus events."
Smon: GM: Make a DEX+prof check Dagda.
Sandor Sunneson: I do, from entransed snakes to rivers of blood
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20 and gets: 18,
chris107: nice rolling tonight Fergus!
Smon: Dagda lunges from his chair as Rosa faints - he grabs the naked beauty before she can hit the floor.
Smon: Isis: "Yeah, she does that sometimes, too."
Sandor Sunneson: It's ok Rosa, think you need a lie down
Smon: Hotar nods: "Thanks, my friend."
Sandor Sunneson: not when it matters lol
Smon: Dagda can take Rosa to the nearby cushions.
Smon: Her eyes flutter open as he sets her down. "Th-thank you..." Hotar grins: "I think the wench likes you, friend."
Sandor Sunneson: Should I place her on the cushions Hotar?
Smon: he nods
chris107: "Do we have time to destroy the War Bringer, scatter the forces of the Black Sun and still delve into Thracia to defy this First King?"
Sandor Sunneson: He#ll place her on the cushions and ask one of the slaves to fetch her some water
chris107: (Been an Exalted Champion is hard work!)
Smon: Hotar shrugs: "There was a Council, aye? Lord Tug has not yet returned with the news - what was agreed?" An old woman servant nods to Dagda and goes for water. Rosa holds on to Dagda quite tightly, looking into his eyes. "You... In my dreams..."
Sandor Sunneson: You could get Hakeem to get a tardus or a delorian time travel car
Smon: "...You were there, with Bondorr against the First King..."
Smon: OOC You think Hakeem will go back in time to become the First Bondorr, creating a temporal loop?
Sandor Sunneson: Dagda will listen
chris107: "It was decided that when the rains stop then our united forces shall do war upon the Black Sun at Madcap Mountain. And I shall battle the War Bringer."
Smon: Rosa: "The Tharbrian Prince..."
chris107: (That would be pretty darn cool and an epic campaign twist! )
Sandor Sunneson: I am of that place Rosa, but not of Royalty
Sandor Sunneson: Would Hakeem have a tardus or delorian car? Or perhaps the one from HG Wells time machine
Smon: Rosa stares at Dagda. "No, it was definitely you! You - you have to let me come with you! I can help you..."
chris107: "Is there any hint within the books, visions or prophesies that say when the First King will rise?"
Sandor Sunneson: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=hg+wells+time+machine&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjMruHfxcXTAhVlJcAKHdKVAtsQ_AUICigB&biw=1536&bih=747&dpr=1.25#imgrc=5eNe67lMKi0paM:&spf=16
chris107: "Or could the Drakness that he will rise from refer to the Black Sun?"
Sandor Sunneson: Hakeem would look good on that seat
Smon: Hotar: "So we have two months before the final war with the Black Sun..."
chris107:
Sandor Sunneson: Dagda will go with Rosa
Sandor Sunneson: (when we played years ago with Simon, he introduced HG Wells as a non PC)
chris107: "It would seem so. I thought I came south to seek a refuge for my son. It would seem fate has other plans!"
Smon: Rosa reclines back on the cushions. She reaches for the ancient book, flicking through it. "Yes, you see here - 'When the Sun turns Black'... the monk who annotated this suggested it meant an Eclipse, but..."
chris107: (Very cool! )
Smon: (ah, memories Fergus)
Sandor Sunneson: Think he died at New York harbour or something??
chris107: "Is there any mention of the Three Sword Isles? I felt so sure...." He trails off.
Smon: "When the Sun Turns Black, When the Seas Run Red... the First King Will Rise Again"
Sandor Sunneson: So we have to prevent the sun from turnning black
Smon: Rosa shakes her head. "No.. Just this bit about the Three Fiery Blades that Bondorr gave to his peers, that they might face the Dragon Lords together. One to Prince Ghinor, one to the Tharbrian Prince, one to the Son of Shieldbiter."
chris107: "The son of Shieldbiter!"
chris107: "Could that be our Prince Shieldbiter?"
Sandor Sunneson: Sounds like it?
chris107: "The Tharbrian Prince, Dagda?"
Smon: Rosa: "Yes? Shielbiter, the Dragonborn smith who forged the Sword of Bondorr, the only weapon that could slay the First King... But the Fire Blades could certainly hurt him!"
Sandor Sunneson: Rosa, I am startled to think I am of Royal descent
chris107: "And Lord Thuruar cast as Prince Ghinor?"
Sandor Sunneson: Where are these blades now?
chris107: "Then we must retreive these fiery blades!"
chris107: "My vision was not false."
Smon: Rosa looks at Dagda: "Well, I'm just going by this book... this text dates from the Nerath Empire, thousands of years after the time of Bondorr..."
chris107: "Why Three Swords Isle my friend!"
Sandor Sunneson: Of course
Smon: Hotar grins: "Glad to be of use, my Lords."
chris107: Hakeem is in very high spirits!
Sandor Sunneson: Tis where we head
Smon: Rosa: "There's a lot more in the book, it's very hard to read. You'll need me to come with you as I said..."
Smon: Hotar frowns.
chris107: "Hotar! Isis! Rosa! We will not forget this service!"
Sandor Sunneson: Rosa, thank you for this,
Sandor Sunneson: Seeing you entransed like that, so entransing to see
Sandor Sunneson: Do we set off in the morning for the Three Swords Isle?
chris107: "I think this deserves a keg of als Hotar?"
Smon: Dr Piecemuller looks at Dagda and blushes at the compliment, smiling.
chris107: ale
Smon: Hotar: "aye! Rosa, fetch a second keg!"
Smon: Rosa sighs, gets to her feet and heads for the buttery.
chris107: (Masterfuly done Simon!)
Smon: Once she's gone, Hotar frowns and turns to Dagda. "I don't suppose you'll offer me a good price for her?"
chris107: Hakeems purpose is now set. heaven help Black Sun, War Bringer or First King!
Smon: Isis: "She's not worth a good price!"
Sandor Sunneson: Got the world to save,
chris107: "Hotar, how does a title and lands sound as a price?"
Sandor Sunneson: You would be an excellent ally Hotar, or are an excellent ally
chris107: "When these lands are free of the menace of the Black Sun we will be in need of true Lords!"
Smon: Hotar smiles: "As you wish, Lord Hakeem. What - Lord Hotar of Ghutaris?"
Sandor Sunneson: Duke?
chris107: "I think I can swing that." He grins at his old battle friend. "Why they made Rey a King, who knows what we can do for you and Isis?!"
Smon: Hotar shakes his head ruefully, then nods and grins. "Friend Tharbrian, I gift you my concubine, the slave Dr Rosa Piercemuller. Take good care of her."
Smon: Rosa returns, staggering slightly with the weight of the heavy ale keg she now carries.
Sandor Sunneson: Thank you, you would be an excellent ally to have in battle
chris107: "Come then Prince of Tharbria! We have a war to win!"
Smon: Isis grins: "*whew*. Good news Rosa - you're out of my hair at last!"
Smon: Hotar pours you all great flagons of ale and toasts you: "Here's to you, my Lords - and to Victory!"
Smon: OOC fair place to stop?
Sandor Sunneson: I would love to see you swing that axe on the torso of your enemies, would be some sight
Sandor Sunneson: Ja,
chris107: "VICTORY!" Hakeem gulps down the fine frothy ale in one.
chris107: Very fair indeed Simon
chris107: We have moved along a pace tonight.
Smon: OOC dates - is it worth doing Hakeem solo on Saturday?
chris107: Thanks Fergus, Simon
Sandor Sunneson: I'm away but you 2, play away
Smon: Bill was asking if you can play Tuesday?
Sandor Sunneson: I'm back Monday afternoon

Sandor Sunneson: well brought in Simon!
Sandor Sunneson: Looking forward to seeing HG Wells appear
chris107: Thunderchild indeed, son of the third avatar of Bondorr count as a Demi-God?
Smon: You'll have to get to Three Sword Isle to see what truly lies there though.
Smon: Sure, demi-god.
chris107: It's what Hakeem was born yo do.
chris107: very
Sandor Sunneson:

Smon: Linda Gordon, a former captive of the mad wizard Oriax. Linda is now seeking a way back to her home in Edwardian London, England in the year 1910, where she was housemaid & assistant to the eccentric scientist Professor Hugo Potsmeyer before an accident with the Transdimensional Interface Loop Inductor (TILI).
Sandor Sunneson: Night!
Smon: Wonder if Potsmeyer & Piercemuller are related...
