Smon: Just feeding Bill some Crunchy Nut cornflakes like a good dad should.
Sandor Sunneson: Hi Simon :), you got back to London then?
chris107: Evening gents
Smon: Yup smooth trip. Hi Chris.
chris107: You spoil the child!
Smon: Yup.
Sandor Sunneson: cool, well they are tasty, tasty very very tasty
Smon: He says "Cos you're not willing to go out and get some actual dinner. Soup isn't actual dinner."

Smon: test
Sandor Sunneson: hello
Smon: Sandor Sunneson: cool, well they are tasty, tasty very very tasty Smon: He says "Cos you're not willing to go out and get some actual dinner. Soup isn't actual dinner."
Smon: Is Don around?
Sandor Sunneson: is don joining us?
chris107: Not seen him since Wednesday.
Sandor Sunneson: Baxter's spicy parsnip with bread is lovely
chris107: He said he was likely to be here.
Smon: I'm about to have New Covent Garden vegetable soup.
Sandor Sunneson: Are we just starting with the political stuff and making of magic items with the Delve treasures?
chris107: Sounds very health. Healthier than Nine Elms Soup
chris107: There was an early morning (like 5AM opening) bar there.
Smon: GM: You rest up for three weeks in the village of Thusia. Gracyone crafts a Ring of Warmth, while Meda makes you the Bracers of Archery as thanks for your help against the Black Sun. Messages are sent out to summon the various Ghinarian Lords to Council.
chris107: cool
Sandor Sunneson: Is it ok for Sandor to have the ring of warmth and Drakonak with the archery braces?
Smon: OOC Chris I could bring Hakeem back into play soon if you wanted; up to you.
chris107: OOC - That would be pretty darn cool
Smon: Bill seems to have stopped playing so suggest someone else takes the bracers for now.
Sandor Sunneson: Is he back from the forge?
chris107: And yes Fergus, no probs with what ever you want to do with the magic.
Sandor Sunneson: I also have boots of levitation whioch are for Gracyone
Sandor Sunneson: I do have arrows, but a bit selfish of me to take everything,
chris107: cool with that too.
chris107: Ursa is not a greedy fellow.
Sandor Sunneson: Do you want Kane's =1 sword?
Sandor Sunneson: +1 even
chris107: I have the warhammer thanks.
Sandor Sunneson: Can Sandor carry a +1 2 handed sword over his back whilst wielding Bane?
Sandor Sunneson: in his sword belt?
Smon: yes
Sandor Sunneson: Ok, cool, I'll go with that then/
chris107: Isn't there a magical shield too?
Sandor Sunneson: I've got that already#
Smon: not that I recall.
chris107: ah, okay. no probs.
Sandor Sunneson: no, he got that before he went into the delves
Sandor Sunneson: +2 dwarven shield
Smon: So Gracyone boots of levitation, Ursa +2 warhammer, Sandor ring of warmth.
Sandor Sunneson: yes
Smon: +1 shield, gives +3 AC
Smon: Ursa taking bracers of archery for now?
Sandor Sunneson: ok, yes, I've noted them
Smon: NB you can potentially sell magic items, eg at the market in Ahyf.
chris107: Would they give him +2 with hurled hand axes?
Smon: GM: I'm going to rule these particular bracers give +2 dmg to all ranged attacks.
chris107: very nice
Sandor Sunneson: thank you, noted
6:22pm 2017-4-08 Smon Has exited the room
6:22pm 2017-4-08 Smon Has entered the room
Sandor Sunneson: I think I might keep the 2 handed sword, could be useful when raging against non MU
chris107: 2d6 is not to be sniffed at.
chris107: Bondorr will smile upon you.
chris107: We should go to Bisgen
Sandor Sunneson: if that was you rolling you'd constantly roll 2-3 from 2d6
Sandor Sunneson: what's at Bisgen?
chris107: Bisgen is a city, just over the mountains. There is a shrine to Bondorr. Just one tiny issue...
chris107: There may be a few Nerathi there...
Sandor Sunneson: it's full of undead??
chris107: and an army of Ghouls.
chris107: Nothing to worry us.
Sandor Sunneson: Can we carpet bomb it Bomber Harris style
chris107: We do better. We destroy them all Barbarian style!
Sandor Sunneson: Is Hakeem back from his journey to the weaponsmith?
Smon: GM: You have been in Thusia for three weeks, enjoying the fine dark ale brewed at the Sun & Stars Inn brewed by a very fat Ghul Innkeeper by the name of Davos Brightbones, and enjoying the attentions of his serving wenches, a buxom Altanian girl called Buedra and Shaele, a slender, pretty wench who looks to have Elven ancestry.
Smon: One day you notice that Davos and Buedra have not been around for a few days, and Shaele is looking very worried.
Smon: (The Lords are beginning to arrive at Thusia for the Council. Rumour has it Lord Hakeem may be returning soon!)
Smon: Shaele - https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiEADjsnrWPIj1rlPPhkCkMa7CeAFv1xavXEBWqpwqF9FQD3Yi-OjDaueR4kjvjdM9n5n5C5xROcjsakYH21jtztbuKqfJ5LPG0SmClbPbTIlOFiwpt0HBQgyBr457XBUbW6-jFMIwFG9Y/s400/1429429429911.jpg
Sandor Sunneson: Why the worry lady?
chris107: (Yay! )
Smon: You are enjoying breakfast in the Inn on a rainy morning when Sandor speaks to Shaele as she serves your drinks.
chris107: Ursa thinks this is the best breakfast ale he's ever had.
Smon: Shaele sighs: "It's Master Davos and Buedra - they left for Ahyf town some days ago to fetch supplies - we are expecting much business with all the Lords coming, and their Men - but they are late getting back. I worry they may have met Ill on the road..."
chris107: he burps loudly in appreciation.
Smon: Make a CHA check Ursa (no Prof)
chris107 rolls 1d20 and gets: 6,
chris107: he grins a broken toothed grin.
Smon: Shaele winces at Ursa's windy belch.
chris107: "Then we'll find 'em for you lass!" He winks outrageously
Smon: Shaele: "The Brightbones are worried sick..." She gestures to the kitchen, where Mrs Brightbones is hard at work.
chris107: "Won't we Sandor?"
Smon: Shaele smiles: "Oh would you? If you could help, that would be wonderful! We would ask Lady Meda but we know she's so busy..."
chris107: "This fellow, woman, is Sandor Sunnerson! Hero of Dyson's Delve, the Witch Bane!"
Smon: Shaele smiles at Sandor. "I heard about you from Lady Damne!"
Sandor Sunneson: after breakfast of course, can't go to work on any empty stomach served by such a beautiful lady
Sandor Sunneson: Nice to meet you, I'm Sandor
Smon: Shaele smiles coyly: "Let me get you some scrambled eggs... "
chris107:
Smon: Sandor can make a CHA check with Prof (so +3)
Sandor Sunneson: Just a tad of sea salt on them please too if available
chris107: Ursa looks pleased and starts to polish the dust from GROND, his mighty battlehammer.
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20 and gets: 9,
Sandor Sunneson: 12, just a pass CHR10
Smon: Sandor makes a moderately good impression (12) enough to get a slice of bacon with his eggs.
Sandor Sunneson: Thank you lady
Smon: "You're welcome!" Once you have feasted you head outside into the morning rain. A well endowed young priestess of Mycr is leading the morning service on the village green to a sodden congregation.
Sandor Sunneson: I look forward to chatting to you again Shaele, take care and thanks again
Smon: Amanda the priestess - https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhDKilNqeTxAyzy76ytt1p94p53IlIePhNmMvIQ6_S2EIhTu2dCIp9KLUzJZN8TW0Tz13Hx8MtdtC8Wy5jdYBZRgufmWj_5OqRq3AQ8RFkM3GpWPibQGO99KMsieJVjWxfYwsSCgOS9jo/s320/1433392692807.jpg
chris107: "A miserable looking religion that one Sandor." Whispers Ursa, very quietly. Not fancying the sharp end of Meda's tongue.
Smon: "Now let us give thanks to Holy Mycr for this gift of rain, that waters our crops and nurtures our spirits..." she says, rain plastering her hair and dress. "Amen" say the congregants.
Smon: Over at the open gate, a blonde Amazon (Tania) stands guard, watching as two male farmers trundle out a turnip cart.
Smon: Over by Lady Meda's Hall, a muscular Ghinarian Lord (Kaldrac) and his retainers shelter in the eaves of the Hall as they watch the sodden ceremony.
Sandor Sunneson: Busy today Ursa, lots happening
Smon: GM: Are you taking the road to Ahyf, or asking around some more?
chris107: "Aye lad. I'll be glad to stretch my legs outside of Thusia. "
chris107: Ursa is happy to follow Sandor's lead as always.
Smon: Kaldrac - minus slave, no slaves in Thusia - https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgYVhicsGdCVyBpoyqMhaSRYAxIO3PXjtXU5zGoMiS6BpUwOllnXbF7hFRCSO9xpck2AAd7_rF0HyyvuaRI7a4f40-lyqG6521LYJg3n6mFUfpzrNnQOzl5iclbgZ6XOKjthvJpBXrEr7g/s640/g11tan02.jpg
chris107: (Though it may be prudent to find out what haunts the lands about... I remember though of course Ursa does not know)
Smon: Neither of you know these lands well, but you know the road east goes to Ahyf, south to the Temple Tomb of Belaras.
chris107: Ah yes, I remeber him from the blog.
Smon: The village of Sceros is an easy day's hike on the east road.
chris107: And the Ghul and the trull went towards Ahyf?
Smon: yes
Sandor Sunneson: Sorry, trying to read the above script to get names, lol
Sandor Sunneson: Ok, lets head east?
Sandor Sunneson: or shall we ask about?
chris107: "Come then Sandor my friend. Lets go stretch out our legs. This confinment, though sweet has left me with a thirst for blood."
Sandor Sunneson: Yes lets
chris107: "Grond hungers to crush the bones of the profane."
Sandor Sunneson: is it a nice road, Roman style?
Sandor Sunneson: nice and straight
Sandor Sunneson: ?
chris107: Perhaps grab a day or two's supplies from the mess hall?
Smon: No, just a hill trail, very muddy this time of year.
chris107: And fill our ale skins
Sandor Sunneson: Ok, so we'll head east then towards Sceros#
chris107: Ursa is positively jolly.
Smon: GM: You set out from Thusia, passing through the green fields around the village and over the brow of the first hill.
Smon: Trees and Arcadian meadowlands stretch around you as you trek the winding hill path towards Sceros.
Smon: /roll d8
Smon rolls 1d8 and gets: 7,
Smon: You are in luck as the rain soon eases off, sunshine breaking through the clouds.
chris107: Ursa whistles a surprisingly musical tune.
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 2,
Smon: By early afternoon you have not encountered anything dangerous, just a few birds, deer, and a glimpse of a Mastodon herd on a far hillside a couple miles off.
Smon: Make Perception checks (WIS+Prof)
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20 and gets: 19,
chris107: (Hmmmm, the Mastadon herds would make fine weapons agin the Black Sun.)
chris107 rolls 1d20+4 and gets: 9, (+4) = 13
chris107: Nice start Fergus
Smon: Sandor's keen eyes spot the signs of a faint trail just south off the road, wending its way up to what looks like a blank hillside slope overlooking the road.
chris107: Any signs that our errant duo have passed this way?
Smon: Checking the ground you see it looks as if a pack mule was dragged off the road here in the past couple days and taken up the slope.
Sandor Sunneson: Sandor will point it out to Ursa and we'll follow it
chris107: Barbarian senses on full alert..
chris107: And a hand axe ready to chuck...
Smon: You head up the slope, following the trail. Sure enough, a few small bushes and a large rock mask a dark cave entrance, with signs of frequent use.
chris107: "Want me to check ahead in the dark sandor? Or do we light a torch?"
Sandor Sunneson: Are there loads of footprints in the area in front of the cave?
chris107: (Or does Grond glow like Sandor's sword?)
Sandor Sunneson: Check outside first, is it all soily/sandy with footprints?
Smon: The cave is only about 4' wide, just high & wide enough to drag a mule in if you took off its packs.
Sandor Sunneson: Any animal prints??
Smon: Yes, numerous muddy footprints and it looks like an unwilling mule was dragged inside.
Sandor Sunneson: We'll use the bane light
chris107: (Wide enough to use his hammer or would he need to stick with hand axe?
Sandor Sunneson: human footprints?
Smon: They look like human shoes - make an Investigate (INT+Prof) check.
chris107 rolls 1d6 and gets: 5,
chris107 rolls 1d20+3 and gets: 5, (+3) = 8
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20 and gets: 17,
Smon: The hammer could be used in the cave yes.
chris107: hehe
chris107: thanks
Smon: The hammer doesn't shed light (but Ursa knows it could be carved with a dwarven Light rune to do so)
chris107: (nice)
Smon: Sandor inspects the tracks. Looks like a half dozen men with sandals and two prisoners - one male, very heavy (Davos?) the other small, likely female (Buedra?)
Sandor Sunneson: Should we wait here for them in the shadows Ursa or go in and explore?
Sandor Sunneson: and find them?
chris107: "Grond hungers to break bones. Let's go get 'em.£
chris107: "After you my heroic friend!"
Sandor Sunneson: Ok, in we go
Smon: GM: You move cautiously into the narrow cave, which soon opens out after 15' or so towards the NW end of a large natural limestone cavern, extending off to the SE.
Sandor Sunneson: any footsteps or evidence of forced movement>?
chris107: Got it.
Smon: The cavern widens further to the SE to about 50', with the centre split by a 16' deep chasm.
chris107: ne-sw?
chris107: (the chasm)
chris107: or down the middle of the nw-se ?
Sandor Sunneson: do we hear or see water at the bottom of the chasm?
Smon: Chasm runs NW to SW. The bottom of the chasm is littered with lumps of debris wrapped in what looks like silk, and a silk wrapped humanoid statue(?) about 8' tall looms on the far side of the dry chasm.
7:10pm 2017-4-08 Evil DM Has entered the room
chris107: (Hi evilDM )
Smon: Most of the SE end of the chasm is blocked off by massive silken webs, such as could only be made by GIANT SPIDERS!
Smon: But no spiders are in sight.
Evil DM: hi, just here to observe, if you dont mind
Sandor Sunneson: evening
Smon: Instead a faint trail wends along the northern/NE side of the cavern, heading SE to where it drops off out of sight over a cliff/ridge, about 15' north of the nearest webs.
Smon: Hi Evil
Sandor Sunneson: Sandor will use Bane as a torch to see if there is anything above them in any cracks or anything watching them
chris107: "I think we will need torches to burn these webs Sandor." Warns Ursa
Smon: Sandor raises Spellbane, looking around.
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 2,
chris107: Gripping his hammer more tightly.
Smon: No creatures in sight. The air is dry, the floor is dry but for the muddy footprints of the trail.
Sandor Sunneson: Ok, we'll follow the footprints cautiously
chris107: So we would need to get down the chasm to inspect the statue and silk wrapped packages?)
Smon: Following the footprints you approach the east end of the cave, and see where it descends down to a rough wooden door set in the east wall of the cave.
Smon: A faint light glimmers from under the door.
chris107: Any sounds?
Smon: Yes you would need to descend into the chasm to inspect the packages or climb up the far side to the statue.
Sandor Sunneson: sneak upto the door?
chris107: (Those boots of levitation would heve been very handy right now)
chris107: aye
Smon: You stop to listen - a moment later you hear a voice, muffled by the door: "More ale, slut! My tankard's empty!"
chris107: Ursa will guard our rear...from spiders...
Sandor Sunneson: Does the door swing in towards the voices or out towards the cavern?
Smon: Looks like door opens inward. No lock or handle, likely barred from the other side, but it looks fairly fragile.
Smon: Very rough workmanship, little more than nailed planks.
chris107: "Let's do this."
Sandor Sunneson: Are the door cracks pretty big?
Sandor Sunneson: Ursa just wants to rage and charge in I feel, lol#
Smon: Make INT+Prof check Sandor
chris107: Nah, do your stuff first Fergus
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 6,
Smon: LOL
chris107: oops
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20 and gets: 4,
Smon: /roll d8
Smon rolls 1d8 and gets: 5,
Smon: Sandor inspects the door, finding no cracks.
Smon: Suddenly he hears the door latch being drawn back and the door opens!
Smon: Light from an oil lamp silhouettes a rough looking Altanian in leather armour, behind him a cosy but somewhat stinky cave chamber with table, chairs, and the remains of a mule on a spit roast, the fire little more than embers.
Smon: Several more brigandish looking fellows are in the room, being served ale by a naked, dark-haired wench you recognise as Buedra the tavern girl.
Smon: Buedra - https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_IZ3UmA_KkBH06J4GRfeIxZ2AE8rvBY7Pf_JLhrpwF8uZcWbySsgZSrfWZNOnSmUfhbK9S21cNawvj8ZoSh7k246fUmgpRx9_UxZWXK3XV_9JMqUIcysltAgjnDSLCqnWZNZ5NMqVlzc/s320/Buedra.png
chris107: No sign of our Ghul?
Smon: Sat at the table is a dangerous looking fellow in Antillian silks with a goatess beard and eyepatch.
Smon: A hanging drape shields the far side of the cave, and a narrow tunnel leads off to the south.
Sandor Sunneson: You're so descriptive Simon, it's beautiful
chris107: Ursa grins nastily. Bones to break
Smon: Cheers
Smon: goatee, should have been
Sandor Sunneson: by dangeros, you mean man with weapon??
Smon: Most of the bandits gawp at you.
Smon: They all have weapons, swords and short bows mostly.
chris107: (Funnily enough I was rading some of the descriptions from Ilheidrin Book game from 2009 and the descriptions really stood out there too Simon)
Smon: The Antillian leaps to his feet with a flourish, drawing a slightly rusty rapier.
Smon: "Aha! Visitors!" he grins nastily.
chris107: "Wemay as well kill them here as anywhere Sandor, my friend?"
Sandor Sunneson: We are adventurers exploring these caves for hoars
chris107: Ursa groans
Sandor Sunneson: yes,
Sandor Sunneson: lets go
Sandor Sunneson: rage?
Smon: "Kill us?! We'll be killing you, more likely... Exploring caves for whores?! A likely tale!"
Smon: Sandor can make a CHA+Prof check
chris107: aye, that's the Barbarian way!
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20 and gets: 7,
chris107: Ursa wonders if Barbarian means something different on Sandor's homeworld
Sandor Sunneson: get Kane's sword ready and attack leader and rage
Smon: The Antillian grabs Buedra's wrist, dragging her close as she gasps. "We have but one whore here, and you'll not have her!"
chris107: RAAAGGGEEEEEEEE!
chris107: Side by side if we can fit.
Smon: ok roll init

Smon: The first men come at you, but sluggish enough you can strike first.
Smon: /roll d20+3
chris107: Ursa will stick within 5' of the Wolf's side.
Smon rolls 1d20+3 and gets: 11, (+3) = 14

chris107 Rolls 1d20+8x2 and gets:

chris107 Rolls 1d20+8x2 and gets:
8 (+8) = 16
8 (+8) = 16
Smon: You Recklessing?
7:35pm 2017-4-08 Smon Has exited the room
Sandor Sunneson: can we get to the leader?
chris107: No standing by a raging wolf barbarian
7:35pm 2017-4-08 Smon Has entered the room
Smon: It's Ursa-Antillian-Sandor-bandits
Smon: Ursa could get to the leader if he dives into the midst of the foe rather than stand at the door.
chris107: or if my initiative means he's not raging yet, then I'll be reckless this round.
Sandor Sunneson: 'm raging
Smon: Ursa's turn - do you stay at the door or charge the leader?
chris107: Charge into the rank and file if I may?
Smon: OK, in that case you can attack them while staying by Sandor.
chris107: Leave fighting the leader to our hero.
Sandor Sunneson: ok
Smon: AC 12 so 2 hits

chris107: Ursa looks horrified at this wast of ale!

Smon: Sandor's go.
