7:17pm  2016-10-08 Kjato Ragfoot Has entered the room
chris107: Good evening.
Kjato Ragfoot: Good evening.
Smon: Hello.
Smon: OK w Kjato here will want to get a move on.
chris107: We are flying with the Thuruar and the treasures back towards Thusia?
Smon: GM: The Wyvern flies east, ascending a saddle that runs north from the northern flank of snow-capped Mt Eglezar towards a lesser peak, and as the evening shadows lengthen begins a descent on the eastern side of the Castellan Mts.
Smon: Down below in a secluded mountain vale, Hakeem catches a glimpse of brilliant white, a horse drinking from the pool of an ancient baroque fountain... No, a unicorn!
chris107: Does he know anything about Unicorns?
chris107: Can they raise the dead?
Smon: The unicorn looks up as the wyvern passes overhead - seeming to realise you pose no threat, it raises its horn as if in salute.
Kjato Ragfoot: (We already met one, it lead us to the fairy grove, where we met T-Rex)
chris107: Perhaps there will be a powerful Druid nearby?
Smon: Unicorns are holy animals that can only be ridden by virgin maids.
Kjato Ragfoot: (Thuruar reincarnated as a badger?)
chris107: Hakeem raises a meaty hand in salute.
chris107: (Ah good point Kjato)
chris107: (On to Thusia it is)
Smon: They are associated with goodly fey & are set as guardians over the sylvan places.
chris107: (Also I remembered the chalise of Beleras if all alse fails)
chris107: Hakeem will try and note the position of this place but he has greater concerns on his mind.
Smon: As the sun sets behind the western mountains you are travelling east, following a tributary of the River Cedarwade.
Smon: Where this tributary meets a second flowing from Bulwark's Breach pass & Ractuan you see the smokes of a small village.
chris107: "Shieldbiter, how much further can your loyal Wyvern fly us?"
Smon: (hex 2630) North beyond the river are rolling hills.
chris107: @ DM you mentioned we could use healing dice as we flew?
Smon: Shieldbiter grunts: "Can fly long time. Not see so good at night though."
Smon: Yes you can have had a short rest.
chris107: I have 5 healing dice left and am at 55HP so will use them all.
Smon: A road leads east from the village towards Carchimish town, where Lord Rey now rules.
chris107 rolls 5d12+25 and gets: 8, 7, 12, 9, 10, (+25) = 71
chris107: 126/197HP
chris107: We must press on with all haste
chris107: "With lady Meda does our only hope now lay!"
Smon: You're going to fly east through the night?
Smon: /roll d8
Smon rolls 1d8 and gets: 5,
Smon: It's a half moon, waxing.
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 5,
Smon: Luckily the night is clear, with scattered cloud, unusual for this time of year.
chris107: What time limit does Lady Meda's raise dead have? Would Hakeem know?
Smon: Days, likely?
chris107: I make it 3 hexes to the ESE?
Smon: You fly on through the night.
chris107: Dare we push on?
chris107: Dare we not?
chris107: Yes
Smon: Shieldbiter grunts.
chris107: Hakeem fears for his friend
Smon: You fly on, the hours passing, the rugged uplands of the high Ghinarian hills passing below.
Smon: There a herd of mastodons break into run, spooked by the wyvern's flight.
chris107: "Onwards mighty beast! We have no time to hunt now."
Smon: Hakeem spots a band of pale-glittered skeletons roaming abroad, armed with hunting bows - Ghuls!
Smon: They scatter apart at the sight of the wyvern, bows readied.
Smon: But no shots are loosed.
Smon: Hakeem make a Survival (WIS + Prof) check DC 12.
Smon: Altanians get +2 I believe.
chris107: Survival is one of his things
chris107: yup
chris107 rolls 1d20+7 and gets: 16, (+7) = 23
Smon: Failing this would be bad.
chris107: Falling asleep?
chris107: His Altanian heritage is unswerving. Unnatural vitality
Smon: GM: It's towards dawn, the tired wyvern's wing-flaps weary now, descending towards dark woods in search of rest, when Hakeem spots just a half mile or less to the north a high caldera - he recognises it as the place wherein lies the Halls of Tizun Thane!
Smon: Make a History (INT +Prof) check.
chris107 rolls 1d20+5 and gets: 18, (+5) = 23
Smon: Shieldbiter: "Wyvern tired now - need rest..."
Smon: Nice
Smon: Moonlit night - Halls of Tizun Thane so close... the NIght Things!
chris107: Arrgghhh yes!
Kjato Ragfoot: Finally, you can see them Hakeem!
Smon: Legends tell of deadly demons, unkillable, that venture forth from the Halls on moonlit nights...
Kjato Ragfoot: Of course, that might be the last thing you see, but at least, you will see them.
chris107: No time! We must save my friend Thuruar!
Smon: The Wyvern is selecting a moonlit clearing just south of the caldera to land.
Smon: If Hakeem's geography is correct, Thusia must be due south of here, only about nine miles off - less than an hour's flight?
chris107: We are to the North of Thusia
Smon:
chris107: "Come you wonderful beast! Fly south just a little!"
Smon: Persuasion check (CHA + Prof) - it's tired so DC 15.
chris107: "Leave me here if the lightened load will help. I will follow on foot."
chris107 rolls 1d20+6 and gets: 10, (+6) = 16
chris107: phew!
Smon: Shieldbiter grunts: "OK, you get off here, see you in morning. Will take Thuruar to Lady Meda..."
chris107: "Mightiest of beasts! Just a few short miles!"
chris107: Hakeem hops off and starts to trot south
Smon: Is Hakeem leaping down onto the greensward?
chris107: once it is safe to do so.
Smon: OK make Acrobatics (DEX+Prof) DC 20 for no dmg from 30' up onto soft grass.
chris107 rolls 1d20+7 and gets: 1, (+7) = 8
chris107: arrgghh
Smon: ouch.
Smon: Hakeem lands badly, twisting an ankle.
Smon: /roll 4d6
Smon rolls 4d6 and gets: 4, 5, 1, 3, = 13
Smon: 13 dmg.
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 6,
Smon: LOL
Smon: Always the way...
chris107: simon's 6's!
Smon: And eerily, the Night Things were waiting...
chris107: 113/197HP
Kjato Ragfoot: (we were expecting you, Mr Greywolfson)
chris107: So long as the wyvern and Thur have flown off to safety that's cool. hakeem will take his chances.
chris107: He clutches the black gem tightly in his shield hand.
Smon: 12' tall, elegantly slim, black ebon statues come dancing, skipping, out of the trees in an inhuman gait, totally silent.
chris107: Is there a tree that H can set his back to?
Smon: Hands are claws, no faces, blank, elongated heads - if heads they are - Eldritch things, not of this world, at home somewhere in the outer dark...
Smon: /roll d4+1
Smon rolls 1d4+1 and gets: 4, (+1) = 5
Smon: 5 of them. :FD
Smon:
Smon: Dice are loving you.
chris107: Oh well it has been fun.
Smon: roll init to get to a tree ahead of them...
Smon: /roll d20+5
chris107: You want to play Thur & Co. out first before you kill me?
Smon rolls 1d20+5 and gets: 19, (+5) = 24
Smon: Thur is safely on his way to Thusia atop a weary wyvern.
chris107: Can't win. Hakeem will stand his ground and go down fighting like a true sword knight of Bondorr.
Smon: roll init
chris107 Rolls 1d20+2x2 and gets:

chris107: "BONDORR!"
Smon: Slashing with claw hands and lunging with chin-spike...

Smon: It's like hitting stone - enchanted stone, but Bloodletter cuts through the obsidian-like hide...
chris107: After the riposte he will leap with his boots to a tree
Smon: A great crack appears on the Night Thing's flank.
Smon: You can attack then move, or take a withdraw action if you don't want to soak OAs.
chris107: Keeping his rage and berserk due to his level 15 ability
chris107: Can I use the magic boots to avoid OA's?
chris107: If I don't attack.
Smon: If you don't attack & use a Withdraw action you don't provoke OAs.
Smon: The wounded Night Thing suddenly shatters!
chris107: (I doubt it will make much difference agin 5 of the buggers but hakeem will go down fighting!)
Smon: (rolled terrible for its hp)
Smon: Bits of obsidian scatter the grass.
chris107: Then he will withdraw, keeping on raging to set his back against a tree.
Smon: Hakeem falls back against the nearest tree, the 4 Night Things come on.

Smon: Had 11 hp.
Smon: It shatters.
chris107: 1/197HP
Smon: And a wounded Hakeem, covered in terrible injuries, still stands...
chris107: "BONDORR!" He cries his thanks to the heavens
chris107: He limps off south
Smon: And the moon passes behind a cloud as new dawn lightens the eastern sky.
chris107: 2 mins please, need a glass of wine after that
Smon: That was close.
Kjato Ragfoot: (Very close)
Smon: Three hours later...
chris107: That was as close a shave as they come!
Smon: Thuruar blinks awake to see Lady Meda standing over him, smiling. He feels weak as a kitten (1 hp & -4 on checks).
Smon: He's in bed in Meda's Hall, clad in a white linen robe. Behind Meda stands Tania the amazon scout, also smiling.
Smon: Meda: "Welcome back, Father Thuruar. Mycr has restored you to life."
Smon: Suddenly a cry goes up from outside and Weaponmaster Damne bursts in: "Lookouts report Hakeem approaching from the north! He appears sore wounded..."
chris107: Just a scratch, a mere flesh wound!
Kjato Ragfoot: I shall thank him very much once I can stand again.
Kjato Ragfoot: But thanks for your support right now, Lady Meda.
chris107: He clutches the black gem and the remnents of Bondorr's armour proudly.
Smon: Hakeem is dragging his tattered carcass towards Thusia's north gate when it opens and out runs Malenn, his beloved wife, holding their baby.
Smon: "Hakeem!"
Kjato Ragfoot: (Good that Malenns touch heals :D)
Smon: Eyes wide, she sprints towards him across the meadow.
chris107: "Malenn my love. Is Thuruar safe?"
chris107: He lands a bloody kiss on her and his infant boy.
Smon: Reaching Hakeem she nods. "He is restored to life this very instant! While you hover at the gates of Death..."
Smon: Malenn kisses him back, and Hakeem feels a lot better... 40 hp back.
chris107: "Bah! Bondorr will protect me."
Smon: Malenn smiles: "But a little help from Mitra doesn't hurt."
chris107: Phew! That's twice in 3 weeks I've needed to use that ability. One more wound and it would have been a DC20 check
chris107: 41/197HP
chris107: "And a little help from you would be much appreciated!" he kisses her lustily all wounds forgotten!
Smon: Malenn isn't too lusty until you're safely back inside the palisade and the babe is in his cot...
chris107: "Now take me to Lord Thuruar and lady Meda. And feed a cow to that Wyvern. It earned it!"
Smon: A short time later, Hakeem is at Thuruar's bedside.
chris107: Hakeem paints a little sword using his life blood on his child's forehead.
chris107: as a thankyou to Bondorr.
chris107: He greets his friend warmly
Kjato Ragfoot: Cough, cough.
chris107: "I thought I'd lost you Thuruar."
Kjato Ragfoot: I thought I was done for.
chris107: "But we did it! We killed Varek, or at least what was left of him and recovered the sacred armour."
Kjato Ragfoot: Thanks for bringing me along. But it seems you only escaped death by a breadth of hair.
Kjato Ragfoot: At least. That is good to hear.
chris107: "I have never been better my friend. Our quest is a step nearer compleation."
chris107: "But I fear I must now leave it in your hands for a while to fight the Neo-Nerathi."
Smon: XP - Hakeem gets 9000 for defeating the Night Things, Thuruar gets 9000 for his role in the seeking & defeat of Varek Tigerclaw.
chris107: "I must go and find Aeanor."
8:26pm  2016-10-08 Eliana Has entered the room
chris107: 17th level!
chris107: Hi Eli
Smon: Meda nods to Varek. "I thought as much."
chris107: EPIC level at last!
Smon: & Eli gave your level-up a rousing intro note.
Kjato Ragfoot: (Hello Eli)
*Eliana sneaks in and pickpockets everyone's purse....*
Eliana: (Hi!)¸
Smon: Hi Eli
Kjato Ragfoot: (Hi! I liked that pick!)
chris107: Arrgghh my purse! And I keep my rat trap in there too!
chris107: 17th level is pretty darn KEWL
Smon: Meda: "Thuruar, last evening a priestess of Athena arrived in Thusia. She has asked to meet you..."
chris107: Epic at last.
Smon: GM: OK to intro your new character chris?
Kjato Ragfoot: To Aenor? Tell my regards to the elves.
chris107: Ah
Kjato Ragfoot: And please, deliver them a letter where I ask for their help in establishing my school.
chris107: I was going to have a little play with the numbers again
Kjato Ragfoot: A priestess of Athena? I will be glad to speak with her.
Smon: Meda nods. "The legends of Bondorr... Hakeem must reforge that which is broken, rededicate that where the spirit is lost. I believe Mycr has a plan for this."
chris107: But sure. I'll just change the level and am happy to play her.
chris107: A slim young dark haired priestess to Athena, Mother of Wisdom enters humbly. "Lord Thuruar."
Smon: Meda nods. "She came on a giant owl - from the north, from your temple I believe."
chris107: http://esophoria.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/11/venusPristess.jpg
chris107: "I..I saw you fall Lord Thuruar. Our Lady sent me a vision to come here and aid you."
chris107: "I am Lilith."
chris107: She kneels before the mighty war priest.
chris107: "And lady Meda, your power is well known to us. As is your wisdom."
Kjato Ragfoot: Raise, young lady.
chris107: She rises gracefully.
Kjato Ragfoot: I am honoured to be considered worthy of visions.
chris107: "I know nothing more than our Lady has shown me. But I believe you have much to do in her service."
chris107: "She has sent me to aid you as I can."
Kjato Ragfoot: There is much work to be done here, young priestess. We have to learn the weakness of Warbringer, son of Bane. We have to reestablish piety to Athena in the Nerathi people. We have to establish a school, to teach wisdom.
chris107: She bows. "It shall be as you command."
Smon: Damne smiles at Lilith: "It is good to see you again, cousin. You were little more than a child when last we parted."
chris107: "Cousin. It has indeed been too long." She smiles warmly at her lost kin.
Kjato Ragfoot: (And, if I remember correctly, we also have to destroy the black gem from the armour of Bondorr?)
chris107: (Do we?)
chris107: Lilith can use Identify on it.
chris107: (I thought it was part of the armour, there to rescue the hero of Bondorr? OOC)
Kjato Ragfoot: (If I understood it correctly, the armour should include a diamond. Borrit replaced that diamond with an unholy black gem)
chris107: (@ GM, I'll PM an updated Lilith to you asap.)
Kjato Ragfoot: (That gem turns the wearer into an undead)
chris107: (Thanks Kjato! You're a gem!  )
chris107: Lilith will Identify anyway then hakeem will pass the black gem over to Athena's High Priest.
Smon: GM: Some hours later the sun is high in the sky, past noon, as Lilith completes her investigations.
chris107: (You'll know what to do with it Kjato  )
Smon: The gem swirls with Necrotic energies; a power source to transport the Armour of Bondorr to some unholy place and reanimate its dead wearer to cursed undeath.
Kjato Ragfoot: (Smash it with the holy Hammer of Righteousness!)
chris107:
Smon: Smashing it is possible but will unleash a hellfire of necrotising flame.
chris107: I missed that bit. No one ever said that Hakeem was bright.
Kjato Ragfoot: (alternatively, use it as conduit between two points in the plane of elemental holy water)
chris107: A ritual suggests Lilith
Smon: Do either of you have any spells that might destroy it without detonating it?
Smon: Or you can keep it and use it for a necromantic ritual to raise a dracolich or somesuch
chris107: hehe
chris107: I haven't had much chance to study the clerical lists yet
Kjato Ragfoot: Plane Shift to Positive Energy Plane?
chris107: Nice idea
Kjato Ragfoot: Maybe Hallow, as that can be used to sacrify unholy places.
chris107: Perhaps a communr to Our lady for advice?
chris107: Commune
chris107: "I do not have the power my lord... bit?"
chris107: but
Kjato Ragfoot: Commune only allows Yes / No questions.
chris107: she once more bows shyly
chris107: "Lady Meda, have you come across the likes before?"
Smon: Meda nods, eyes narrowed slightly. "Aye... Far from here, in service of the Viridian Empire..."
Smon: "...And again, wielded by the Conclave of Gwalion as they raised dead armies from the dust..."
chris107: "And did you destroy it?"
Smon: She nods. "The first time, I barely survived - others did not. I was young then, and foolish."
Smon: "The second time, we buried it, and left."
chris107: "Can we confine it's destructive powers? or as my lord Thuruar suggests send it to the Plkane of Positive Power?"
Kjato Ragfoot: How far does its destruction reach?
Smon: Meda shrugs. "I know little of other worlds. I do believe it might be Sanctified, but there are risks. Before embarking on such a task Father Thuruar must rest, and regain his strength."
Smon: "The blast resembled a Fireball, but the energy was flame and necrotic, intermingled."
Kjato Ragfoot: We could plant a pool of holy water beneath a cliff and throw it done. We should be out of reach of whatever evil fire it conjures.
chris107: "Oh my Lord forgive me. In my haste I had not noted your condition."
chris107: Lilith will use her most potent healing on Thuruar.
Smon: GM: Meda wants Thuruar to rest at least a week, enough time to fully recover, and for Hakeem to spend a little time with his family.
Smon: GM: Is Hakeem going north to Aeanor alone?
Smon: Meda secures the evil gem in her vault while Thuruar rests, recovers and prays.
Kjato Ragfoot: Hmm. 20 Feet radius.
chris107: Hakeem will spend that time but then ask Shieldbiter to once more help him. He needs to travel to Aeanor with the precious relics of his God.
chris107: Lilith will spend time in prayer with Thuruar and in conversation with lady Meda where possible.
Kjato Ragfoot: Lady Meda, how did you destroy the necromatic gem?
Smon: On the fifth day, Anna Souvari arrives from the north with worrying news. "Thuruar, I heard you were sore wounded! It is good to see you, my fond one. But I have news - Altanian pirates have raided a manor of Hara - they say it was Sarene and her men. And the Feathered Bear clan are rumoured to be about to march on Hara - perhaps the Seawolf will join them..."
chris107: Blast them!
Smon: Meda: "We smashed the first one - it exploded, killed most of my companions. That was when I learned to leave such alone... Greetings, Anna of the Wode."
Kjato Ragfoot: We need to divert their attention to another target.
Kjato Ragfoot: Send them against the orcs that wiped out the tigerclaws or something like that.
chris107: "Lord Thuruar." Whispers Lilith
Smon: Anna nods. "The Altanian clans see Hara now as a fruit to pluck from the tree. With the Neo-Nerath armies gone, there are but few defenders. Lord Bronze is readying the defences."
Kjato Ragfoot: Yes?
Kjato Ragfoot: Speak, Lady Lilith.
chris107: "The lady of Wisdom allows me to influence the barbarian mind..."
Smon: Meda smiles wryly.
chris107: She looks a little shyly at Hakeem hoping he has not heard this.
chris107: "Pehaps they can be shown that there are wiser targets for their wrath?"
Kjato Ragfoot: Excellent. Do you think you could convince them that everyone will consider them weak if they allow the slaughter of one of their tribes go unrevenged, and rather debauched themselves in riches taken from weaklings.
Kjato Ragfoot: (Does that sentence make any sense?)
chris107: "As you say Lord Thuruar."
chris107: (Just  )
chris107: (OOC - Knowledge clerics get a suggestion type power at 6th)
Kjato Ragfoot: (Basically. Tell the barbarians, if they steal from the city now, they are just weaklings. Real Altanians would avenge the death of the Tigerclaws against the ORcs)
chris107: (And as Hakeem will be away and unable to break heads we must find a more subtle plan)
chris107: (OOC seems a perfectly legitimate suggestion)
Kjato Ragfoot: (I like subtle plans. At least if they include some head bashing)
Smon: OOC Feathered Bear & Tigerclaw lands are on different sides of the mountains & quite far apart NE to SW. Doable via Bulwark's Breach/Ractuan pass I guess.
chris107: (But I'm sure we can engineer some subtle plan between us)
chris107: (OOC seems like a perfect start for our new partnership?  )
Kjato Ragfoot: (I would agree)
Smon: Feathered Bear to Ractuan route passes through Hara...https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFCG1oAJwFOGbYkrEhYfj7jyzNTItL8vU8Etg7GEL2k71t9JAdxmXtb2jaHPeBMkcFyRj6t8yAGmJZYSTVSYMhTBk3BGcmcryUF37ffHzHc3D-8mtvfu90vGJfbwdPM2o1JhOAvGIduHA/s1600/Ghinarian+Hills.jpg
Smon: https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFCG1oAJwFOGbYkrEhYfj7jyzNTItL8vU8Etg7GEL2k71t9JAdxmXtb2jaHPeBMkcFyRj6t8yAGmJZYSTVSYMhTBk3BGcmcryUF37ffHzHc3D-8mtvfu90vGJfbwdPM2o1JhOAvGIduHA/s1600/Ghinarian+Hills.jpg
chris107: Got you.
Kjato Ragfoot: Lady Meda, could you built a hollow shaft, that is placed upon an anvil, and through which we can let a hammer smash the gem from afar?
chris107: hehe it's tough getting out of the Hakeem mind set to solving problems
Smon: Meda: "The force required to smash the gem is too great - it requires a mighty blow from an enchanted weapon."
Smon: Meda: "I suggest the best course is to Hallow the gem - but be ready for it to fight back..."
Smon: OOC going to stop ca 10.20.
Kjato Ragfoot: I hate gems that fight back.
chris107: Perhaps Lilith could aid by casting wards and protections as you do so?
Smon: GM: That is doable (Aid on check gives advtg)
Kjato Ragfoot: Couldn't we sacrifice a really big stone to one of the giant gods and throw it down on the gem from high up?
chris107: Cool with me Simon, great to get an extra game in this week.
Smon: Meda chuckles.
chris107: (OOC has the week passed, Thuruar back to rude health and Hakeem gone North?)
Smon: Meda: "I shall prepare a mystic circle. Within it the negative energy will be contained as you Hallow it. Even should you fail, in good health you should survive."
Kjato Ragfoot: Very well, we will do this the proper way.
chris107: (OOC will also have to think of a cool name for a Giant Owl  )
Smon: GM: 2 days later Thuruar is fully recovered. Hakeem too as he bids his farewells. His half sister Laurana volunteers to fly Hakeem north on her war griffon.
Kjato Ragfoot: (Eulalia!)
Smon: OOC you guys need to get your own mounts now.
chris107: "That's great sis!"
Smon: Laurana shrugs. "You did save my life..." She smiles slightly.
Kjato Ragfoot: We will simply buy pegasi, as every good high level cleric.
chris107: OOC Yes we do!
Smon: Damne nudges Lilith. "Princess Laurana there is being a hell of a lot nicer than I ever saw, don't you think? You left before her mother the old queen died - she thinks she should rule Highhaven..."
chris107: "I think that what ever she decides she would be wise to have her brother beside her."
Kjato Ragfoot: (Nudge. Nudge. "If she hires a priest of Athena as her advisor")
chris107: "Cousin." She adds with a warm smile.
Smon: Damne nods. "They're both Yusan's children... Let's hope blood does not tell."
chris107: "Aye you make a good point."
Smon: GM: The wards are readied and Thuruar is ready for the cleansing ritual...
Smon: GM: Thuruar & Lilith both roll a d20 but we use higher result, and add Thuruar's Religion skill (WIS+Prof)
chris107 rolls 1d20 and gets: 2,
chris107: good job!
chris107: Lilith is inexperienced in these matters
Smon: Lilith's wards aren't going to be much help.
chris107: Good luck Kjato
Kjato Ragfoot rolls 1d20 and gets: 15,
Smon: yes
Kjato Ragfoot: That is +5
chris107: Yay!
chris107: +10
Smon: +10 sounds right (+5 WIS +5 Prof right?)
Kjato Ragfoot: Oh. I thought it was +INT + prof.
Smon: It was DC 20 anyway.... Black mist swirls inside the gem then dissipates, leaving a pure white flawless diamond, very large (worth 5000gp)
Smon: (Normally but this was WIS + Prof, which is an allowed option)
chris107: NICE!
Smon: (same as your casting attack I guess)
chris107: The diamond of the armour of bondorr perhaps?
Kjato Ragfoot: Hakeem, I think you will need this diamond to restore your armour.
Smon: Well it was a new diamond Borritt procured, but yes.
chris107:
Kjato Ragfoot: It has been cleansed of the Black Suns evil.
Smon: OOC I expected you to smash the diamond in the battle or afterwards so this is a big bonus.
chris107: All in all not a bad night's work
Smon: +5000 xp to Thuruar.
Smon: OK 20 past, will stop there.

chris107: Nice one!
Kjato Ragfoot: All right. Good night everyone!
chris107: Good game guys.
chris107: Thanks Simon.
chris107: G'night Kjato
chris107: I may not be able to play on Wednesday. 50/50 if I'm in London.
9:22pm  2016-10-08 Kjato Ragfoot Has exited the room
chris107: That should take Thuruar to 15th I think?
chris107: 8th level spells
Smon: yes
chris107: excellent.
Smon: Let's put Lilith to 9th since Hakeem made 17th
chris107: That's brilliant too!
chris107: 5th level spells.
chris107: Epic level
Smon: Handy for raising dead Thuruars
chris107: Who'd have thought it when we started the game?
Smon: Congrats.
Smon: I thought you were dead tonight.
chris107: Thanks
chris107: Been a great game all round. Thurs chance to shine now.
Smon: Would have been horribly ironic way to go - very Jack Vance.
chris107: So did I
chris107: Hakeem had faith in Bondorr. Right to the end.
chris107: That's how one should start EPIC adventuring.
Smon: The dice were really hating you for ages there.
chris107: haha they were in deed.
Smon: I was using the Night Thing OD&D stats very closely (AC-5 hd 3d8 3 attacks)
chris107: That really was as close as hakeem has been since he was captured by Joseph and the Orcs.
Smon: The way they're described I had to give em +5 DEX
chris107: I thought you got thenm spot on.
Smon: Made for very swingy tense fight.
chris107: Hard but fragile. And very scary!
Smon: AC 25 is horrible even at 16th level.
chris107: You did another great job tonight.
Smon: Cheers, was fun.
chris107: It's very 5e.
chris107: It was in deed. I'll go read up on level 9 clerics now. Will be great for Kjato to guide us from here.
Smon: I remember the foreshadowing in Cahlu
Smon: Cahli
chris107: And the Giant Owl is just so
chris107: The village?
Smon: yes
Smon: You didn't open the blinds did you?
Smon: The previous group did, nearly lost a PC to the Night Things.
chris107: I can't remember. I know we stopped there
Smon: I think you took the tip of a claw off?
chris107: It's probably the one adventure I still would love to play.
chris107: That does ring bells.
chris107: Are we at session 90 yet? Can't be far off.
Smon: It had a claw at the blind and I think it was Hakeem took it off.
chris107: That's a lot of adventuring
Smon: #83 - http://smons.blogspot.co.uk/
chris107: I think this has been the coolest online campaign I've ever been involved in.
chris107: Great fun and we are really becoming movers and shakers in the world.
chris107: It feels pretty EPIC
Smon: My 4e game did 103 sessions over 5.5 years - http://frloudwater.blogspot.co.uk/ - but you're catching up.
Smon: Yeah this is def one of my favourite ever campaigns. The Wilderlands has really come alive.
chris107: Oh! How did they go on agin Orcus?
Smon: I had a lot of failed Wilderlands campaigns and some fairly successful but this is the first runaway success.
Smon: They killed him, but the 4e stats were really bad.
chris107: 20 more sessions then.
chris107: Maybe face The warbringer!
Smon: (4e is best in levels 1-20)
chris107: Good fight?
chris107: (never played it)
Smon: (Sort of good fight but too tricksy)
Smon: (his wand took a PC to 0 every round then they had to negate that somehow, plus he raises all undead in 50' every round)
chris107: Also I think I should be asking for inspiration after beating Varek and surviving the Shadowdancers
Smon: 1e Orcus is better.
Smon: Yeah ok.
Smon: Thuruar too for the gem.
chris107: 1e Orcus
chris107: sounds great
chris107: Just now and then it will save a life.
Smon: I like how the bad guys in this game have so much history.
chris107: (or make one I guess with hakeem's son  )
chris107: Yes
chris107: Southlands and beyond with Kaystar
Smon: By the time you fight Shadowdancers/Varek/Warbringer/Borritt there's years of stuff.
chris107: I find myself reading the blog at all hours
Smon: Kaystar good example, yup.
Smon: Meda talked tonight about adventuring vs the Necromancers of Battleplain Gwalion, the guys Kaystar took the Ilhiedrin Codex too...
chris107: I'm happy to let Kjato take the limelight for a while.
chris107: Hakeem has been hogging it for a while.
chris107: ah yes!
Smon: Some diplomacy w Thuruar should work well,
Smon: They got the Codex 13 years ago game time, 7+ years real time.
Smon: 2009 I think.
chris107: I thought Lilith waould be the perfect aid.
chris107: It was 2009 when we played it.
Smon: Then Varek fell to Borritt 12 years ago in game, 6+ real.
chris107: A real history developing. How cool is that?
Smon: yup
chris107: I'm facinated to see what the armour and sword of Bondorr will become.
chris107: Hopefully Thur joining Hakeem at Epic level then both pressing on.
Smon: For the armour base stats I'm looking at breastplate since that's medium armour, Hakeem could use it right?
chris107: Not without loosing his unarmoured bonuses
Smon: He'd lose the +5 for CON but can have 2 pts of DEX
chris107: Probably worth it for the kudos though
Smon: Now you're Epic, w Aeanor you can potentially reforge it as +3 armour, so base AC 17, that's 2 pts higher than you unarmoured.
chris107: From the minute I created him he was always looking to become Bondorr's champion. A true sword knight. This just works so well.
chris107: hehe and with Bondorr's sword too!
Smon: Yeah. And I love how Varek is an ex PC who wore that armour in service to BONDORR!!!! before you.
Smon: Bulwark is an ex PC too BTW
chris107: It sure is working to build an epic story.
chris107: I'd be tempted to set it down in novel form.
Smon: Feel free
chris107: Yeah i read a bit of the text. Cool PC.
Smon: Bob Bledsaw Jnr prob owns Wilderlands but they seem generous w licensing.
chris107: A genuinly enjoyable game.
Smon: cheers
Smon: I love Hakeem.
Smon: Thuruar & Rey good too - and Dragonbiter.
Smon: Could make Armour of Bondorr half plate - AC 1 pt higher but disad to stealth
chris107: Hakeem is known for his stealth!
chris107: The armour and sword of a God to whom one has served since level 1 is pretty darned awsome!
Smon: AC 23 though...
chris107: EPIC!
chris107: As the name says
chris107: Now I think I need a sandwich after all that excitment
Smon: I'll sign off now, gonna play some Oblivion on my new PC before bed.
chris107: Thanks again Simon. Great game!
Smon: Goodnight & see you Wed hopefully.
chris107: G'night.
9:51pm  2016-10-08 chris107 Has exited the room
