7:29pm 2015-3-31 Smon Has entered the room
Smon: test
7:32pm 2015-3-31 Amalric Has entered the room
Amalric: hello!
Smon: Hi G
Amalric: so, what we up to?
Smon: Your PC sheet: http://smons.blogspot.co.uk/2015/03/5egh-amalric-pc-rey.html
7:34pm 2015-3-31 efnisien Has entered the room
Smon: GM: 'Lord' Reynard has spent the past week in Selatine, carousing with his well-gotten gains from the hobgoblin 'king'
Smon: Hi ef - wanna play? I have pregen Fighter Rogue & Barbarian statted, you can add name & personality.
efnisien: Ooh the choice
Smon: Campaign web page (nsfw/boobs) - http://smons.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/the-ghinarian-hills-campaign-labyrinth.html - pregens at the bottom
efnisien: Yes bewbs
efnisien: btw the computer tells me one of the jpegs on your page with an image from the Troy movie has malicious code embedded in it.
Amalric: its a hard life that Rey lives, but someone has to do it
Smon: It's a sword & sorcery setting - hence swords & bewbs. You could also adapt one of these pregens - http://media.wizards.com/downloads/dnd/StarterSet_Characters.pdf
Smon: 2 human Fighters, Elf Wizard, Dwarf Cleric, Halfling Rogue
Smon: Which pic has the malicious code BTW?
efnisien: OK how about let's try the barbarian, have no idea how that will pan out in 5E.
Smon: Chris is playing one, works really well.
Smon: When Raging you get +2 damage and take half damage from weapons.
Smon: OK, ef think of a name and I'll start you in the beer hall of the Redeye Inn, having breakfast.
efnisien: troy-movie-picutre-27.jpg according to my antivirus, but it could be a false positive
Smon: @Amalric - after an epic week-long bender you wake late morning with a flaccid money pouch, in the arms of two of Aldo's serving maids, Cirelle and Beverly. You might have had a bit much to drink.
Smon: Outside there is cheering: "Lord Vex! Hurrah for Lord Vex!"
Smon: The barmaids on either side are still sleeping.
Amalric: bet the money pouch isn't the only flaccid thing
Amalric: Rey gets up and looks out the window
efnisien: Ok, my PC will be called Kradis, seems suitably Wilderlands-y
efnisien: "Kradis is hungry! Where is meat?"
Smon: A fine barbarian name.
Smon: Do you want to be a Viking, Celt, or Heavy Metal barbarian?
efnisien: \m/
Smon: (Skandik, Tharbrian, Altanian)
Smon: I think the pregen's Altanian?
efnisien: Yes, that's what it says
Smon: Ok, you're a young Dio-meets-Conan barbarian out to see the world with a loincloth and greatsword.
Amalric: Rey will get dressed while he looks out the window, check he has all his stuff and look for breakfast before he pukes
Smon: @Kradis - a buxom loincloth-clad Altanian girl hurries up with a plate of roast mutton. "Here you go m'lord" she smiles.
efnisien: *Rump Slap* "Great service, my dear".
Smon: @Rey - you see the Lord Vex of Selatine waving to the assembled throng in the company of a woman you don't recognise, before turning and entering his oddly-angled villa.
Amalric: what does she look like?
Smon: @Kradis - the girl giggles. "Thank you sir..."
Smon: Altanian serving girl - https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgm3On8n2YHa81s_IRgduMEGl7NDLNcuvehEtjtBj2pwbxF4Ot5_0uGFk_9Mg289Id92uHGf3VF-dm5vZrhXJy013iTefJFuqAYxB4jkUFjpu4EUcmj1gaeduSpb_iqEn2l5Dz_kCNkqms/s320/Sara+Brightpage,+opera+singer.jpg
efnisien: GREAT service!
Smon: Altanians tend to just wear loinclouts so her attire is normal to you, though her proportions are impressive.
Smon: & her portions of mutton.
efnisien: Kradis doesn't know who Rey is, but assuming he enters the common room for breakfast , will pay some attention to someone who has obviously been wining and wenching.
Smon: Rey you get dressed, feeling queasy. The bar girl Cirella stirs in her sleep. "My prince..."
Smon: GM: The girl nods to Kraydis. "I am Serani. Excuse me..." she turns to leave, as the Inn doors swing open.
Smon: Rey you go downstairs?
Amalric: sure
Smon: /roll 1d3-1
Smon rolls 1d3-1 and gets: 2 (-1) = 1
efnisien: "I'll have to remember you, Serani"
Smon: /roll 1d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 44,
Smon: /roll 1d20+2
Smon rolls 1d20+2 and gets: 44, (+2) = 6
Smon: Serani just smiles and heads for the kitchen, as 5 robed men stumble into the Inn.
Smon: Rey, coming down the stairs you see the distraught figures, both of you recognise them as Pilgrims of Mitra.
Amalric: distraught?
efnisien: [OOC just reading down the cast list on your blogpage, LOLed at the Beverly McFadden description]
Amalric: Rey watches to see what they do next
Amalric: (brb)
Smon: Rey recognises their leader as Deacon Borgus, he thanked you & the barbarian Hakeem for clearing the Goblins from the Shrine of Ulther.
Smon: They don't look happy now - and they seem to be minus a party member.
Smon: Borgus staggers into the room, leaning on his staff. "Woe! Woe and despair!" says the fat bald man.
efnisien: Kradis' interest is piqued, if Altanian barbarians can spell the word 'piqued'.
Smon: "The dead are risen in the Vault of Ulther! The sanctity of the place has been defiled!"
Smon: A blonde barmaid serving at the bar gasps in horror, as do the two old local men propping it up.
Smon: Blondie - https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhSBUveCROo6uYzUGhribKFAFGEw0yRwpCOxS1HZRM976XG0tqLoSGKPDkKm6SlTsOBY-rZQV84DGTTKaYzC3KFWFnSLh17xO-Acg0WxTdlVWxFXKT5fqlUThpGwklnWxICLdOSjZtLHME/s1600/Malenn+of+Mitra.jpg
Smon: Deacon Borgus mops his fevered brow. "Goblins rose from the depths as we prayed! By Mitra's grace we drove them off with our stout cudgels! But then - oh woe! Woe!"
Smon: Serani comes back out of the kitchen with more muttton and stops to listen.
Smon: Borgus: "The doors of the Inner Vaults opened - the dead attacked us! Brother Mikhel was overwhelmed!"
Smon: Borgus and the surviving pilgrims sit down.
Smon: An old fisherman with a huge white beard speaks up: "Go on, friend."
Smon: Borgus: "We fled!" He looks around. "Who will aid us?!"
Smon: The fisherman shakes his head. "Not me, mate - too old fer that kind of thing. Lord Vex is back but 'ee's havin' a feast, doubt he'll want to be bothered with yer crypts..."
efnisien: "The dead? They should stay dead and pester not the living. I can remind them of this with my trusty greatsword."
Smon: Borgus looks around, at the queasy Rey, then hears Kradis' words and smiles eagerly. "Aye! You have the look of a warrior!"
efnisien: "And then back for more boso...I mean chops, thanks to the fair Serani"
Smon: Borgus: "This is the second time we have been driven from the Shrine - no more!" He shakes his staff.
efnisien: "I have the balls of a warrior too, more importantly. And axes and more."
Smon: Serani smiles warmly at Kradis. "A drink for you before you go, warrior." She nods to the blonde, who pours a tankard of ale.
Smon: brb 1 min
Smon: back
Smon: Borgus looks at Reynard. "You're one of the ones who defeated the goblins, you said - well there's a lot more goblins in there!"
efnisien: "What about you" (to Rey) "You have helped these priests before, and did well out of it looking at your red eyes. Again?"
Smon: Serani takes the ale and ceremonially presents it to Kraydis with a bow.
Amalric: back
Smon: >>Smon: Borgus looks at Reynard. "You're one of the ones who defeated the goblins, you said - well there's a lot more goblins in there!" efnisien: "What about you" (to Rey) "You have helped these priests before, and did well out of it looking at your red eyes. Again?"<<
Smon: At the bar, an old farmer with half his scalp missing nudges the white-beard fisherman. "Ere, Happy, reckon Serani there's got the hots fer that feller! Better not tell 'er 'usband, eh? Eh?!"
Smon: /roll 1d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 22,
Amalric: "Of course. I would be glad to be of help," says Rey, lying through his teeth
Smon: Serani hears Scalpy's words and blushes, looking down.
Smon: Borgus nods. "Glad to hear it. We shall rest here, unless the Vexes invite us to their party. Lay the dead and I have a little more electrum for you."
Smon: The old men - Scalpy & Happy - look sceptically over the two champions, Rey & Kradis. "Wouldn't give much for their chances, Scalpy mate."
efnisien: "The shine helps convince anyone doesn't it? Glory and fortune, and especially the fortune"
Smon: Borgus nods. "Glad to hear it. Bar wench, some ale for us!"
efnisien: Kradis flexes his arms like a cheap version of the Commodire 64 barbarian game
Smon: Serani pours more ale, first serving Rey a tankard.
Smon: At this point Cirella and Beverly come wandering down the stairs, looking dazed but happy.
Smon: Borgus: "You two best be going, it's eight miles to the Crypts. You know the way, Sir Reynard."
Smon: GM: You heading out?
efnisien: "Ah, *Sir* Reynard is it? No wonder you are stopping with such fine ladies as those two."
Smon: Serani: "A kiss before you go..." she leans in to kiss Kradis' cheek.
efnisien: "I am Kradis, Fighting Huthkoon of Altanis. I will fight these not-dead if you will join me?"
*efnisien Kradis becomes somewhat un-barbarian like and almost blushes at the peck on the cheek...*
Amalric: "Good morning, my dear ladies!" says Rey to his companions of the night/week before
Amalric: "Didn't want to wake you, looking as peaceful as you did."
Smon: Beverly blushes and heads for the kitchen. Cirella smiles and waves back at Rey.
Amalric: "And yes sir. Let us down our ales and be on the way to reclaim this....place."
Smon: Heavy footsteps on the stairs indicate that Innkeeper Aldo Redeye is descending, The bar girls hurry to attend to their day duties.
efnisien: "Lead on, you are familiar with the place."
Smon: GM: You gird up your baldrics and head outside. The sounds of celebration issue from the weird-angled Vex Villa across the way.
efnisien: "What is that place?"
Smon: At the western gate the guard opens it at your approach, and you can see the trail towards Ulther's crypt winding SW across the Selatine Plain, the sea shining to the east.
Smon: >>"What is that place?"<< Serani has followed you out: "The house of Hytirus Vex, Lord of Selatine"
Smon: Serani waves Kradis goodbye as you leave town.
efnisien: A man to please, or man to fear? Hmm, we'll find out later.
Smon: /roll 1d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 55,
Amalric: "Party central, apparently. Maybe we'll get an invite on our return."
Smon: You stroll through the fields and meadowlands around Selatine, a few shepherds, their flocks, and great shep-hounds watch you pass.
Smon: Soon you are crossing heathland, the track muddy from recent rain.
Amalric: "Bit of a hike...." says Rey. "..but I guess you're used to the outdoors."
efnisien: "So, Reynard, is this tomb nearby?"
Smon: A little after noon you see the great spire of a high light-house rising to the south - the tower of the Chaos Wizard Oriax - while a faint side trail leads north towards the cliffs & the Crypt of Ulther.
Smon: Oriax it's said has a vast harem, the most beautiful women of many worlds - those he tires of are sold at market or sent to the mines beneath his spire.
Amalric: lucky bastard
Smon: North atop the cliffs the faded ruins of St Ulther's Shrine stands, a dark cave entrance below.
efnisien: "Being a wizard must have some benefits, I suppose"
Smon: You can see on the trail the muddy footprints of five men - the fleeing pilgrims, presumably.
Amalric: any other tracks?
Smon: Approaching the Shrine/Crypt, you have a choice - enter via the cave or take the trail up to the clifftop, and then descend via the stairs Rey found there on his last visit.
efnisien: Did you look in the cave before? If the stairs seem easy, go that way again.
Smon: Rey looks around - there are chariot tracks crossing the trail you're on, 2 days old perhaps. Weird, it looks as if a 2-wheel chariot was drawn by 4 humans, but with impossibly long gait.
Smon: Rey went by the stairs before.
Smon: His companions entered via the cave, reported encountering giant weasels.
Amalric: stairs say I
Smon: GM: You ascend to the redstone ruins atop the cliff, locate the spiral stair.
efnisien: Go on then
Smon: It descends into darkness.
Smon: Last time Rey met Goblins down there.
Amalric: not normal humans dragging it, thats for sure
Smon: Sneaking down or lighting a torch?
Amalric: Rey takes the lead
Amalric: Sneaking
Amalric: "You follow me. As soon as we meet any enemies, run up and smite them."
Amalric: "Unless you want to light a torch and lead the way..?
Smon: GM: You sneak down the spiral stairs. In the early afternoon sun much light pours down the stairwell.
efnisien: Is Rey a rogue?
Smon: yes
Smon: /roll d20+7
Smon rolls 1d20+7 and gets: 77, (+7) = 14
Smon: Rey sneaks quietly down.
Smon: /roll 1d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 22,
Smon: At the foot of the stairs a short passage leads 10' se into the first chamber, empty now but for bloodstains.
Amalric: "You okay, Kadris?"
Smon: An exit to the s leads to the lair of the dead hobgoblin chief, a second exit is in the e wall at the n end.
Smon: Any further will be too dark to see w/out light.
Smon: Kadris joins Rey.
Amalric: 2nd exit then
Amalric: Rey lights a torch
efnisien: "All fine, but I will need to light a torch here"
Amalric: or Kadris does
Smon: Kadris gets a torch lit, the dry wood sputtering to life.
Smon: In the light you can see tattered remnants of goblin trews on the bloody floor.
Amalric: "shit their pants clean off, dirty little bastards"
efnisien: "You did a good job here with the goblins, it seems"
Smon: A few rats scamper away as you approach the e exit, a tunnel that runs 40' east before turning n. 15' e along the s wall is a narrow cleft in the rock that opens into a narrow tunnel going s, towards the main cave entrance.
Smon: The shrine is likely ahead.
Smon: The floor here is smooth worked stone, clearly not goblin-made.
Smon: Head e down the tunnel?
Smon: Just past the cleft in the s wall you see fresh blood splashed on the floor, and bloody drag marks.
Amalric: yes
Smon: It looks as if a body was dragged away e down the tunnel.
Amalric: do the drag marks go to or from the cleft? or the shrine?
Amalric: ah
Smon: At the e end of the tunnel you find a door in the s wall, emblazoned with a crudely painted black skull.
Smon: The drag marks go through the closed door.
efnisien: "This is new since the last time you were here?"
Amalric: "Looks like X marks the spot..."
Amalric: "Yes"
Smon: The tunnel here heads north ca 15' through an archway into a good-sized chamber.
Amalric: Rey listens at the door
Smon: /roll 1d6
Amalric rolls 1d20 and gets: 88,
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 33,
Smon: You hear nothing.
Amalric: "Shall we investigate the shrine first?" Rey asks Kradis
Smon: So, door to your right (s), tunnel continues to your left (n), ending in a chamber.
Smon: The chamber's walls are smooth worked sandstone.
efnisien: "Yes"
Smon: You go n or open the door to s?
Amalric: N
Smon: GM: Ok, you head north, stepping through the archway into a good-sized room, 20' n-s and 50' or more e-w, you towards the e end of the s wall.
Smon: To your left/w the sw corner is filled by a hole (?) where a spiral staircase descends to a lower level.
Smon: To your right, at the e end of the s wall, is another door marked with the black skull.
Smon: As your torchlight falls on the stairwell to your left you hear a sudden chittering sound!
Amalric: jeezo
Amalric: rats?
Amalric: worse?
efnisien: Let's see
Smon: You hear voices from below! "Jezbat, light! Taint ratz! More uumanz!"
efnisien: I take it the greatsword is 2-handed?
Amalric: why don't we open the door next to us, go through, and then close it behind us?
Smon: The voice is high-pitched - goblin?
Smon: yes
efnisien: Ok, just for reference if I'm holding the torch right now.
Amalric: give it to Rey
Smon: You hear the sound of footsteps ascending the spiral stairs.
efnisien: "Afraid, brave Sir Reynard?"
Amalric: I have one hand free
8:46pm 2015-3-31 Oculus Orbus Has entered the room
Smon: hi Oc
Amalric: "Meet them at the top of the stairs! Hold them back!"
efnisien: Hi OO
Smon: You go to the top of the stairwell?
efnisien: So has Rey got the torch?
Oculus Orbus: Smon, Samalric, Sefnisien
Smon: Kadris passes Rey the torch, freeing two hands for his mighty blade
Amalric: Rey has the torch
Amalric: and yes
efnisien: If so, Kradis will charge in and attack the lead gobbo as it gets to the top of the stairs
Smon: Kradis
Amalric: hey Soc!
Oculus Orbus:
Smon: GM: Kradis moves forward as a furry head appears atop the stairs - a giant ferret!
Amalric: normally I do O_O, guess it'll have to be SO_SO, makes you look like you have weird eyebrows or something
Smon: You can strike first - do you want to Rage?
Amalric: go on, Rage away!
Smon: to hit roll is 1d20+5 for Kraydis
efnisien rolls 1d20+5 and gets: 11, (+5) = 6
efnisien: LOL
Smon: The ferret ducks Kraydis' blow and nips at him...
efnisien: "I wanted some ermine for the fair Serani, how doth fate conspire against me!"
Amalric: haha
Smon: /roll 1d20+5
Smon rolls 1d20+5 and gets: 22, (+5) = 7
Smon: It tries to latch onto his mighty thew, but he fends it off.
Smon: It scutters past him, giving Rey a chance to attack it, as a Goblin comes up the stairs behind it to attack Kraydis.
Amalric: is the ferret attacking Rey or what is it doing?
Smon: Rey can make 2 attacks, sneak attack, d20+5
Smon: not yet
Smon: it already attacked Kraydis
Amalric: 1 min
Smon: you can both attack now, then enemy
Smon: Kraydis can attack either the ferret or the goblin, who wears a cloak of rat tails BTW.
efnisien: Go for the goblin, if it's still coming up the stairs
efnisien rolls 1d20+5 and gets: 44, (+5) = 9
Smon: It dodges, steel tearing stone from the wall.
Amalric rolls 1d20+5 and gets: 55, (+5) = 10
Smon: The ferret dodges Rey too
Amalric: 1,2,4,5...i'm sensing a theme here
Smon: In trouble now...
Smon: The ferret lunges at Rey:
Smon: /roll 1d20+5
Smon rolls 1d20+5 and gets: 1818, (+5) = 23
Smon: ouch
Amalric: figures
Smon: It latches onto his thigh
Smon: /roll 1d4+3
Smon rolls 1d4+3 and gets: 44, (+3) = 7
Smon: max dmg of course, at 13/20
Amalric: "Come on you big unwashed lout! Do your job!"
Smon: Rey you should have taken your 2nd attack
Amalric: shouts at Kradis
Amalric: can I take that roll you had?
Amalric rolls 1d20 and gets: 2020,
Smon: no, roll d20+5
Amalric: never mind
Smon: crit!
Amalric: how does that work again?
Smon: You double your dice on a crit, 1d6+1d6 sneak attack, so 4d6!
Amalric rolls 4d6 and gets: 22, 66, 44, 44, = 16
Smon: Rey skewers the ferret with aplomb.
efnisien: nice
Smon: Meanwhile the goblin is attacking Kradis, a second behind.
Smon: /roll 1d20+4
Amalric: "Thats how you do it!" says Rey, very pleased with himself. then he remembers blood is pouring out of his thigh and there are still goblins
Smon rolls 1d20+4 and gets: 66, (+4) = 10
Smon: The goblin misses - it ducks past Kradis as the second goblin comes up behind. Your go now.
efnisien: Right, so now there's a goblin past me and a second on the stairs? Any more coming up from below?
Smon: No, just the two it looks like.
Smon: (They have a special Disengage power to get past you like that)
Amalric: roll away Mark
efnisien: Right, so I will again go for the one in front of me then
efnisien rolls 1d20+5 and gets: 77, (+5) = 12
Smon: miss again
Smon: Rey?
Amalric rolls 1d20 and gets: 33,
Amalric: yikes
Smon: miss. 2nd attack
Amalric rolls 1d20 and gets: 1414,
Smon: "Yooz killz Ferry the Ferret! Now yooz gonna die!"
Smon: 14 - hit!
Smon: 2d6 dmg
Amalric rolls 2d6 and gets: 66, 44, = 10
Smon: "*urk*"
Amalric: "No, my fetid little scumbag - you are."
Smon: Now only the goblin on the stairs is left.
Amalric: Rey is quite the rapier wielder
Smon: It swings a dirty blade at Kraydis' groin.
Smon: /roll 1d20+4
Smon rolls 1d20+4 and gets: 1818, (+4) = 22
Smon: *ouch*
Smon: /roll d6+2
Smon rolls 1d6+2 and gets: 66, (+2) = 8
Smon: A gash appears - 4 dmg
efnisien: argh
Smon: At 10/14. Just a flesh wound.
Smon: The gobbo is on the stairs, Rey can't melee it, it has cover but he could throw a dagger at it.
Smon: Kraydis can whack it.
Amalric: why not
Amalric rolls 1d20 and gets: 1010,
efnisien: Ok, can I ask why only 4 points damage, I haven't taken the Rage bonus action? Or does the resistance apply all the time?
Smon: The dagger misses.
Smon: The Rage lasts 10 rounds.
efnisien: I'll swing for the blighter
Smon: Unless you stop fighting.
efnisien rolls 1d20+5 and gets: 1010, (+5) = 15
Amalric: "Damn, I'll have to buy another. Or steal it."
Smon: (I'll just let it last for the battle!)
efnisien: Has it activated automatically then?
Smon: (You raged in r1) Finally Kraydis' blade strikes true...
Smon: The mighty sword sinks deep into goblin skull. It jerks and topples, lifeless
efnisien rolls 1d26+8 and gets: 13 (+8) = 21
efnisien: sorry,
Smon: (min 7 dmg, had 7 hp)
efnisien rolls 2d6+8 and gets: 33, 55, (+8) = 16
efnisien: typo in first roll
Smon: You pretty much cut it in two there 13 dmg
Smon: Silence falls.
Amalric: Rey searches the bodies quickly
Amalric: "Cut the skin off that ferret, might be worth something"
Smon: /roll 4d6
Smon rolls 4d6 and gets: 11, 44, 44, 55, = 14
Oculus Orbus: my new sig file
Smon: You find 14 electrum on the goblins.
efnisien: "That is my plan, for my fair lady hostess"
Smon: /roll 1d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 11,
Smon: heh
Amalric: wandering monster?
Smon: From behind the skull-marked door you hear footsteps approaching.
Smon: You might recall what Borgus told you
Amalric: "Quick, either side of the door."
Amalric: (I glanced through it )
efnisien: Yes, we do that
Amalric: ah yes, undead
Smon: You quickly flank the skull door, not a moment too soon. The handle turns, it is pulled open away from you.
Smon: You hear a clattering & clicking sound.
Amalric: wait
Smon: Then through the door comes a...
Amalric: waaaaiiiit...
Amalric: cuddly toy?
Smon: ...skeleton!
Smon: /roll 1d3
Smon rolls 1d3 and gets: 1
Amalric: hack n slash
Smon: Hefting a rusty blade, lifeless eye sockets scan the room.
Smon: You strike!
Smon: You were ready, so can roll twice & take best result.
Smon: "advantage"
Amalric rolls 2d20 and gets: 99, 1111, = 20
Amalric: wow
Smon: 11 is a hit
efnisien rolls 2d20 and gets: 2020, 11, = 21
Smon: 20 is a crit
Amalric rolls 2d6 and gets: 22, 22, = 4
Smon: Kraydis strikes its neck for 4d6+5 (rage has 3 rnds left I'll say)
efnisien: double dice for critical?
Smon: yes
efnisien rolls 4d6+3 and gets: 11, 44, 11, 66, (+3) = 15
efnisien: OK 17 if the rage is still going
Smon: 13 hp, you chop off its head, it goes down.
Smon: Behind it is a long corridor leading into a richly appointed crypt chamber.
Smon: (20' corridor)
Amalric: shall we?
Smon: /roll 1d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 22,
Amalric: Rey checks for traps
Smon: No more skeletons.
Smon: /roll 1d20+3
Smon rolls 1d20+3 and gets: 1010, (+3) = 13
efnisien: "I see the glint of gold and fortune! Hurry up with your poking, Reynard2
Smon: You proceed down the corridor checking for traps and emerge into the very Tomb of St Ulther itself!
Smon: An ornate sarcophagus dominates the centre of the tomb.
Smon: The east wall shows a huge mosaic depicting the life of the ancient saint. He stands atop what is clearly Oriax's light-tower, holding a lantern by which he guides ships to safety from the rocks.
efnisien: "Hmm, in my home there is no need for such fripperies for the dead."
Amalric: "So he was a lighthouse?"
Smon: Ulther is depicted with odd bulging eyes but a kindly countenance.
Smon: /roll 1d20+3
Smon rolls 1d20+3 and gets: 55, (+3) = 8
Smon: I guess so
Smon: The sarcophagus has a bas-relief lid depicting Ulther at rest.
Amalric: "Do we open the tomb? Or leave it?"
efnisien: "Those nervous clerics with the robes from the inn, they will be bothered if we defile the tomb, yes?"
Smon: A tunnel leads south out of here, the walls lined with ossuary recesses filled with many bones.
Amalric: "Probably."
efnisien: "My people do not need such nonsense for the dead, but we respect them"
Smon: /roll 1d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 22,
Amalric: "Fair enough. This place gives me the creeps."

Smon: /roll 1d20+1
Smon rolls 1d20+1 and gets: 11, (+1) = 2
efnisien: South then.
Amalric: lets check the recesses
Smon: The tunnel runs south a short way then broadens, ending at two doors - one ahead, one in the w wall.
Smon: The recesses are funeral biers laden with the dead of centuries, it looks like. The bones are very old, brown.
Smon: Most likely from the time of Nerath, if not before. Before the Gnoll Times.
Smon: Neither of you are religious or historical experts.
Smon: Are you searching all the recesses thoroughly?
efnisien: Live for tomorrow, thinks the barbarians
Smon: It'll take a long time.
Amalric: yes
Amalric: lets rip the bones out throw them on the ground
Smon: /roll 1d6

efnisien: So much for dem bones
efnisien: Yes W door
Smon: You open the western door - ahead you see another tomb, less ornate, a sarcophagus in the centre.
Amalric: okay close the door and try the other door
Smon: There is a door sealed with wax in the sw corner and a tunnel out going n.
Smon: The bloody mangled corpse of a pilgrim lies sprawled before the sarcophagus.
Smon: You close the door & open the s door?
Amalric: behind the first door?
Smon: (that was all west door)
Amalric: yes
Smon: GM: The south door creaks open, light falling on a long chamber filled with many crypts.
efnisien: Examine the body first, and is there signs the sarcophagus has been recently opened?
Smon: As the light touches them, here and there the dead bones rise up.
Smon: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6,
Smon: 7, 8...
Amalric: "This place is a real fucking graveyard. And....oh shit."
Amalric: Rey closes the door
Smon: The skeleton horde lurches to its feet as you slam shut the door.
Amalric: "I think we should leave"
Smon: Clitter-clatter go the skels as they approach the far side of the door.
Amalric: Rey starts running back the way he came
efnisien: Can the door be barred/spiked?
efnisien: Ok then, if we can't block the door peg it
Smon: It opens inwards, away from you.
Smon: You see the handle turn.
Smon: You can hold onto it to stop it opening, or run?
efnisien: We're off
Amalric: if we can jam it with a dagger, stop the handle turning we will
Amalric: and then leg it
Smon: You jam your dagger into the semi-rotten wood, it catches the handle - should hold for a moment...
Amalric: is it a handle, or a doorknob?
Smon: Then you turn and race away down the tunnel.
Amalric: anyway, RUN RUN RUN
Smon: (handle)
Amalric: "That electrum needs to buy me 2 daggers..."
Smon: You race back through the Crypt of Ulther. Behind you a sarcophagus lid slams to the floor with a crash.
