Smon: Stairs are ca 15' wide. Looking down you see they open into the east side of a subterranean chamber.
JamesDevil: "BS if you would go first and sniff out any traps that would be wonderful"

Keelia: Bright Star will take the lead and keep an eye out for traps

Smon: You descend into the entry chamber, roughly square 25x25 with 10x10 extensions at the north & south ends of the west wall. The entrance hall is a mess after centuries open to the elements. There is a lot of debris, both naturally occurring and from the ruins of the manor, scattered about the floor of this high-ceilinged chamber. Barely visible faded murals on the west wall depict a team of knights bearing the Erdea family crest on their chargers looking down over a battlefield between human and elven troops. A door in the west wall towards the the south end is built into the hill the chargers are standing on, made to look like the entrance into a cavern.

Keelia: Bright Star will head towards the door, picking her steps carefully
Smon: The mural at the north end of the west wall shows knights astride a pile of eleven bodies.
Smon: BS reaches the hall floor safely.
Smon: The others join BS in the hall. Danor can roll stone cunning (x2 prof, INT)

Smon: The Elven warriors look exageratedly muscular, you can roll History (INT +PROF) DC 18.

Smon: The 'elves' are equipped with strange magical devices, gloves wands rings etc that shoot lightning or purple bolts of energy. Mordred recognises them as depictions of the Vrilya, a legendary subterranean race who claim to be the root of both Men and Elves.
Smon: Apparently these Erdea knights of Nerath battled against them victoriously centuries ago.
Smon: Mordred can roll Investigation.

Smon: The Amiodel are relatively recent compared to the ancient legends of the Vrilya, but there could be a connection.
chris107: "They look a bit moth eaten to do us any harm, Sandro. But I'll keep an eye on them just incase."
chris107: "What about these two alcoves? Do your keen eyes spot any hidden doors there?"

Smon: The holes are about 4' off the ground, shoulder height for a shortish fellow.
Sandor Sunneson: Sandro will stick 10sp into one of the holes

Smon: The holes are finger width.
chris107: Mordred watches the door.
Keelia: they're holes to spy and watch through

Keelia: if they are that low, it must be someone quite short. Gnomes?
Smon: The holes are only an inch or so deep, but with a recessed hollow 'hook' area above in an L shape.
Sandor Sunneson: like the films where people look through door peepholes

chris107: Mordred's eyes follow Sandro around the room for dramatic effect.
Smon: The back of the holes are painted white. Danor's fingers go in easily into the holes, it feels snug as if intended for this purpose.
Keelia: Pull? Lift?
JamesDevil: i try to pull my fingers back in a trigger motion
Smon: Danor pulls - There is a grinding sound and the secret door opens outwards!
JamesDevil: "Excellent"
Smon: GM: Danor gets +500 XP for defeating the secret door, BS can have 250 for suggesting pulling.

Smon: Beyond you see a chamber 20x20, clearly undisturbed for centuries.

Smon: It looks like a trophy chamber, numerous weird artifacts including four suits of plate mail of some strange purple-black metal.

Smon: Odd looking swords, glaives, katar type daggers and such hang on the walls.

Smon: The armour looks likely Vrilyan to Mordred, human or large elf sized.

JamesDevil: "hmm, i can probably modify one of those for my size if they are worth the trouble"

Keelia: so trophies from those dead elves?

Smon: Are you leaving the secret door open? Are you all going into the chamber. There is another door in the south wall of the secret chamber, it looks like the back of a second secret door designed to open at the press of a central button.
Smon: You can roll Arcana to detect magic first.
chris107: Mordred will enter to do his stuff.

chris107: He touches it and comences his identify ritual. His shield slung on his back, the pearl in one hand the other resting on the armour.
Smon: GM: The three dwarves also enter the chamber with you.
Smon: Gloin: "Ancient artifacts!" Vobmi: "Weird stuff..."

Smon: The dwarves start putting the strange weapons into their packs.
Keelia: Bright Star will shift her attention to that door.

Smon: GM: Mordred completes the ritual. He IDs the armour as +1 plate, but it bears a dark curse - if donned by non-Vrilya the wearer is compelled to slay a defenceless humanoid each month or be driven slowly mad.
Smon: Obmi lights a torch for Mordred's benefit.

Smon: Yup, Danor can combine his Forge Priest skills with Remove Curse spell to remove the curse runes from the armour while retaining its enchanted puissance.

Smon: But this will require work on a forge back in Selatine.
JamesDevil: right, i'm taking this armour with me, i'll resize it later

Smon: The other suits are not enchanted, but the metal seems light yet strong.

JamesDevil: can we take the others as well or will that be too much?
Smon: GM: The Vrilya plate is heavy armour +8 AC but if properly fitted imposes no disad on stealth checks.
JamesDevil: anyone else wanna try lugging one or two back as well?

Keelia: she mimes chewing as a warning
Keelia: She draws her bow and glances at Sandro to check if he's ready, too.
JamesDevil: Danor prepares a sacred flame

Keelia: She carefully opens the door (thanks for the aid), as quietly as she can
Smon: GM: The door opens onto the north side of a 20x20 flagstoned room, ornate arches in S & W walls, door in E wall. A tea pot steams over a fire in the centre of the room. Dead goats are hung on wooden pegs around N & E walls. A large ogre is sat by the fire, munching on a goat haunch, keeping an eye on the east door.

Smon: The light from his sword shows a door in the west tunnel wall 10' down, then after 20' it opens out to the east into a wolf pen, several wolves chained to stakes. The corridor continues on beyond.

Smon: At the sight of the light the snarling wolves strain at their chains - and they come free!
Smon: 7 black furred wolves start towards Mordred - who can attack if desired.
Smon: Meanwhile the dwarves are finally moving into the chamber, arbalests ready.

chris107: @ Simon, the wolves headed off south past their pens?
Smon: You look around the antechamber - the bodies of a half-dozen goats are hung on wooden pegs on the east and north walls. The secret door you came in by is opened by removing one of the wooden pegs from the wall and reaching in to press a switch along the bottom of the peg hole. There is a small fire here, and a large pot of tea-like substance on the fire. The two passages exiting from this room have massive and ornate archways over them with the Erdea coat of arms at the peak and both bases of the arch.
