Smon: Hi chris - playing in here?

chris107: Up to you my friend.
Smon: This is good
Smon: hi Jorian

7:00pm  2017-12-22 DESTROYERBILL Has entered the room
joriandrake: so you do see it, just I myself can't see a difference
chris107: Evening Bill
joriandrake: I have 1 level 4 spell I can still prepare but I don't see any level 4 healing spells
joriandrake: hi
DESTROYERBILL: hello
chris107: It's bolder and darker than earlier
chris107: (I don't have my PHB to hand, sorry)
DESTROYERBILL: you can use level 1 spells in higher level slots to make them more powerful
Smon: You need to read the spell descriptions to see how they improve in higher level slots.
Smon: You need to be familiar with how the spells work, which is why I recommend non-casters for most starting players.
joriandrake: Didn't think the spells are this different from 3rd edition
Smon: The system is quite different
chris107: completely different
joriandrake: how many people are we still waitingfor? (total number of players)
Smon: Maybe Fergus?
DESTROYERBILL: 1 more
chris107: 1
Smon: Spellcasting rules are phb pages 201-205
Smon: last session - http://smons.blogspot.co.uk/2017/12/2-374447-sandor-maglor-shieldbiter-at.html
joriandrake: ok I just go and place cure wounds as 4th level spell I see it has bonus dices, might add beacon of hope
Smon: end of last session - Smon: The farmer nods to SB. "If I die, see my wife gets it..." Smon: The little balding farmer gingerly picks at the soft barrel cherry cheese... Smon: "Mmm... my extremities are tingling!" Smon: "With this gold I can buy a new ox, a plough... Marta will be so happy!" he says dreamily. Smon: Soft Barrel Cherry Cheese (5 gp) – causes a strange tingling sensation in the consumer’s extremities for d8+1 hours, no other effects. Smon: GM: OK eventually you retire to bed - Sandor with a pair of amorous witches - recover 1 hp/level. Smon: SB wakes up refreshed (exhaustion gone) chris107: 61/66HP Sandor Sunneson: Ok, to the tower? Smon: OOC stopping now
DESTROYERBILL: hey chris thanks for letting me be a kobold
chris107: No probs, Bill. Merry Christmas

joriandrake: Ah right, this is the only time were in chat before it, Merry Christmas to you all
Smon: GM: Looks like Sandor Sunneson is sleeping in late with the witch priestesses of Rhiannon...
chris107: hehe
chris107: (M still need to Long Rest to level some time)
Smon: That morning at breakfast, SB and Maglor see a strange dusky woman alone at a side table...
joriandrake: OOC: So, is Prisha already there at the inn?
Smon: >>SB and Maglor see a strange dusky woman alone at a side table...<< You can intro Prisha now.
chris107: Maglor nods in afriendly fashion. "Morning stranger."
Smon: Old Chumpin the Innkeeper, a rotund fellow in his mid 30s, serves you all gruel & milk.
chris107: "Gruel. My favourite."
joriandrake: https://i.pinimg.com/736x/c7/5d/59/c75d595dcd3b5fc82a1cbb7c9974c72a--beautiful-models-beautiful-eyes.jpg
Smon: Chumpin to Maglor: "Good to see some colour back in your cheeks, friend - you were mighty pale last night!"
joriandrake: Prisha nods- "Greetings", she says with some exotic accent
Smon: GM: Prisha arrived quite late last night at the little thorpe of Imp Brucke and missed the excitement of last evening.
joriandrake: OOC: not the final image of Prisha, but the closest I could find in the last 3 days
chris107: "Thanks, friend Chumpin. Much better thank you.Who's thedoll?"
Smon: Chumpin smiles at Maglor: "No idea..."
chris107: (Nice picture, Jorian  )
Smon: He goes over to the mysterious Karakan girl's table. "Are you with those other two priestesses, milady?"
joriandrake: With a small bow Prishe smiles at them. "I am just a mere wanderer following the path divinity choose for me."
7:16pm  2017-12-22 Sandor Sunneson Has entered the room
chris107: "Care tojoin us in some gruel, wanderer?"

joriandrake: "I don't believe I am" Prisha looks at the other mentioned clerics (ooc: I travelled alone, right?)
Sandor Sunneson: Evening, sorry thought it was 7.30 pm start
chris107: Evening Fergus
Smon: Chumpin nods: "Well if you're plannin' to wander north over the Northwatch hills milady, take care - once out beyond Capricia territory, all kinds o' monsters and brigands out there!"
Smon: (hi Fergus)
Sandor Sunneson: (hi Si)
DESTROYERBILL: i wrote down the whole merry christmas song well as much as i can remember
joriandrake: "Your presence is welcome at my table, at least you can tell me more about your lands and your people."
Smon: Sandor wakes feeling rather drained of virility... minus an additional 2 hit dice Fergus.
Smon: No sign of the witch priestesses he spent the night with.
DESTROYERBILL: vampire
chris107: "Why I am a straner here myself my lady. "
joriandrake: OOC: You can see Prisha desses in exotic, colorful silken clothes with red dominating mostly, and with a chain shirt among the layers
chris107: "We are about to go investigate yonder tower."
joriandrake: "May I join you then? I just recently arrived and some sight seeing would be nice."
Sandor Sunneson: In the daylight !
Sandor Sunneson: Of course, I am Sandor, this is Maglor (not Magyar ;))
DESTROYERBILL: i offer prisha orange marbled brick (its cheese)
Smon: GM: Prisha is pretty much fresh off the boat from Karak; she spent a few days in the dwarf town of Capricia on the River of Visions 9 miles south of here, before deciding the humans were better prospects for her goddess' message I reckon.
chris107: "Safteyin numbers."
Sandor Sunneson: and that is Shieldbiter, who owns the cheese
Smon: SB smells strongly of cheese this morning.
chris107: "Lotsofdangerous cheese."
Smon: The cheese shop across the green is closed now, he having bought the entire stock.
joriandrake: (Hi Sandor, sorry I focus on trying to type without typos and without falling asleep)
Smon: SB's Royal Wyvern has gone off hunting.
DESTROYERBILL: only one was dangerous
Sandor Sunneson: To the tower we go after breakfast
joriandrake: Prisha accepts a bit of the cheese carefully breaking it off the larger part.
Sandor Sunneson: (no worries, my attention to detail isn't the best)
joriandrake: "We have cheese where I come from as well, although your people make it mostly from cow milk, correct?"
Smon: Prisha eats the marbled orange cheese?
Sandor Sunneson: and goats
joriandrake: OOC: yes Smon, can't be worse than rats
Smon: The cheese is delicious and fortifying!
Smon: Prisha gets +1 to saves vs poison for the next 24 hours
Smon: (stacks with cloak)
Sandor Sunneson: Ok folks, to the tower we go, all ready?
chris107: yup
joriandrake: "It tastes good, maybe this could be traded to Popolva"
Smon: GM: After breakfast you ready your gear.
Sandor Sunneson: There'll be no trading with this town if the evil infestation isn't dealt with
joriandrake: As the group gathers their belongings Prisha stands up from the table "What kind of priestesses are whom you mentioned before?"
Smon: The tower of Sidral sits on a ridgeline across the fields, 600 yards north of the village.
Smon: Area map - https://rpgcharacters.files.wordpress.com/2013/12/goblin-valley-production-3.jpg?w=529&h=369
chris107: "Just Sandor's witches."
Sandor Sunneson: Hardly mine, they are self liberated ladies Maglor
joriandrake: "They worship him?" Prisha raises an eyebrow and looks at the man.
Sandor Sunneson: (Pankhurst would be proud of them)
Sandor Sunneson: Hope not
Smon: Heading north out of the village, you notice two familar flower-clad figures on the Imp Bridge 500 yards down the east road - the Witches appear to be inspecting the strange head carvings on the bridge.
chris107: "Thats a nasty bite, Prince Sandor." Sniggers Maglor
chris107: "Morning, ladies."
joriandrake: "So, you called them priestesses first, then witches of Sandor. I don't think I still udnerstande the caste system of your society"
joriandrake: ooc: sorry typo mess - understand
chris107: "Don't worry. You'll fit right in."
Sandor Sunneson: What we inspecting on the bridges ladies?
Sandor Sunneson: (ladies was tongue in cheek)
Smon: Maglor's voice does not carry 500 yards/1500'. But the two witches see you in the distance and wave... Then suddenly you see a horde of Goblins led by two enormous brutes rise up behind them!
chris107:
chris107: "Hmmmm"
Sandor Sunneson: what is a horde in numbers?
joriandrake: Prisha feels more lost during the conversation and stops asking questions, just smiling and nodding while the group continues on and talks about themselves as if all were girls.
chris107: "Hope they are friendly." M waves back
Smon: The Witches turn just in time as the Goblins leap on them, throwing heavy weighted nets over the Witches!
DESTROYERBILL: i fly over as fast as i can
joriandrake: I murmur a short prayer in my native tongue (casting Aid on group)
chris107: "BUGGER!"
Sandor Sunneson: We'll rescue the damsals (another word for witches/ladies Jorian)
Smon: You see some kind of Eldritch Blast from a Witch scorch one of the Goblins, then the Witches go down beneath a pile of goblins.
Sandor Sunneson: We'll go over to them weapons at the ready
Smon: 1500' range so 40' speed will get you there in 1500/80 = 18 rounds
chris107: M sticks to Sandor like glue
joriandrake: "Oh, are those the famous kobols of this land?" Prisha asks as they go interventing in the goblin attack
Sandor Sunneson: We'll head over to the bridge
joriandrake: ooc: kobolds*
Smon: You run/flap NE up the road towards the bridge. Carried by the wind, angry/frightened cries of the witches reach you as they are dragged off into the trees east of the bridge.
chris107: "The Goblins of the Bridge were friendly to the villagers until lately. Some chaotic influence has overtaken them." Explains < to the new girl.
joriandrake: "Is it wise to rush ahead? There might be more of them hiding, no?"
Smon: https://rpgcharacters.files.wordpress.com/2013/12/goblin-valley-production-3.jpg?w=529&h=369
Sandor Sunneson: Think we follow them, they may lead us to the infestation of evil
chris107: "We have no claim on wisdom I'm afraid."
Smon: By the time you reach the bridge, the goblins have dragged the priestesses into the trees at #7.
DESTROYERBILL: dont worry im a level 17 barbaireon ill be fine
chris107: "We just let these guys chop stuff up." He gestures to the muscle bound barbarians.

Smon: dead
joriandrake: damn it
chris107:

Smon: You can reach your goblin this round Prisha
joriandrake: I want to be perfectly clear, GM: What do I see right now in regards to the goblin before me and what other players/characters do?
Sandor Sunneson: Sandor is looking to cut free the 2 witches/ladies/bints/damsals
DESTROYERBILL: i put the goblin on my shoulders
DESTROYERBILL: and i pick up my sword
Smon: Prisha can't see Maglor, he is hiding in the woods somewhere behind her. On the trail 30' ahead stand blood-splattered winged dragonborn and Sandor, a blond viking.
joriandrake: I assume initial also matters on who moved and did what at the time I'm on
Sandor Sunneson: Sandor also collected his javelin from the dead goblin too
Smon: Nearby them a goblin stands w hands up; the spell is about to expire.
Smon: What does Prisha do?
Smon: (ignore everyone else Jorian, it's not their turn)
Smon: brb
DESTROYERBILL: brb means be right back
joriandrake: Well, I said first that I tie him up so I do that, even if the spell ends he can see no one else survived, should be enough to keep him docile (damn hard to keep count of the turns and actions right now) and if I have to I cast next turn a command to stop either the goblin from doing stuff, or fellow playercharacters from killing it
chris107: (OOC - best just to follow Simon's pencil on the initiative call. )
Smon: Prisha can reach the goblin and attempt to subdue it with an opposed Athletics check (STR+Prof)
joriandrake: ...even typing him up is athletics?
joriandrake: ah damn fine, I cast another Surrender spell on it instead, and others decide its fate
Smon: /roll d20-1

joriandrake rolls 1d20 and gets: 6,
Smon: SB recovers his sword, Sandor I think frees the witches?
joriandrake: well, it won't be me who ties him up thats for sure
Smon: Prisha stays well back from the fearsome Goblin
joriandrake: "someone tie the goblin up, or get that net from Sandor's witches here"
joriandrake: "I assume they are willing to bowwor it for a different use"
Smon: SB & Sandor take the net off the witches and put it over the goblin.
joriandrake: borrow*
Smon: Sandor can free the witches from their crude bonds.
joriandrake: "Well met Sandor's witches, may Love brighten up your day."
Smon: They cough as the gags come clear.

chris107: M continues to scqan thearea from his hidden position.
Smon: Prisha can make DC 10 CHA+Prof check
joriandrake: ooc: are they unharmed?
Smon: They seem a bit bruised and their flowers are disarranged.
joriandrake rolls 1d20+7 and gets: 14, (+7) = 21
Smon: "Bloody goblins!" says the dark witch,
Sandor Sunneson: lol
Smon: "My, you're pretty..." says the blonde witch to Prisha.
joriandrake: "They are indeed"
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 2,
joriandrake: Prisha smiles and looks a bit proud. "I am indeed"
DESTROYERBILL: i pick up one of the goblin heads and kick as far away as possiable
Smon: Maglor sees no goblins - normally they sleep during the day, come out at night.
DESTROYERBILL rolls 1d20+13 and gets: 8, (+13) = 21
Smon: "We'd love to get to know you better..." says the darker witch.
chris107: thanks
Sandor Sunneson: we're near 7 on the map, shall we head towards 6?
Smon: A goblin head flies over the treetops.
DESTROYERBILL: and again
joriandrake: Smon that roll result 21 was vs your requested check
DESTROYERBILL Rolls 1d20+13x2 and gets:
9 (+13) = 22
7 (+13) = 20
Sandor Sunneson: Ask the witches if they know about the conflict between the villagers and goblins
chris107: M rejoins his chums when all seems safe
DESTROYERBILL: 2 more goblin heads fly over the tree tops
Sandor Sunneson: Is there anything of interest here?
Smon: You're on a trail in the middle of the woods.
joriandrake: "I don't think thnk goblin head rain is natural, so that's of interest"
DESTROYERBILL: 1 of you get on my back and i can fly you to town
chris107: "Why do we want to go to town?"
Sandor Sunneson: we still have the cave to suss out
joriandrake: "I accept your offer, I don't really like to run, reminds me of my... origin." I reply to Bill in draconic
chris107: "And a tower."
joriandrake: "Wait, a cave?"
Sandor Sunneson: Sandor heads off to the cave, looks like that no 6 on the map
joriandrake: "I thought we're jsut sight seeing and rescuing Sandor's witches who just happened t o get abducted before our eyes"
chris107: M shadows the bold prince
DESTROYERBILL: so you want to go to town or the cave
Smon: Sandor make a Survival check if you want to seek the goblins' lair.
Sandor Sunneson: Sandor heads towards the cave
Smon: DC 20 since the trail is not recent,
Smon: WIS+Prof
chris107: good luck
joriandrake: ooc:s'mon what was that DC check for? you asked me to roll for it and got the result 21 but I doN't seem to find the reason or reaction to it
Sandor Sunneson: if he fails does he die?
Smon: (ooc no idea jorian)
DESTROYERBILL: first ill spot out the cave well at least try to anyways
joriandrake: o_O
DESTROYERBILL rolls 1d20+7 and gets: 4, (+7) = 11
Smon: SB flies around but can't see any goblin cave.
chris107: (To see if the witches liked you I think Jorian)
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20 and gets: 14,
Smon: oh yeah the CHA check!
Sandor Sunneson: +3=17

Sandor Sunneson: there is something at no 6
chris107: "Nor me."
joriandrake: d20+6
Sandor Sunneson: on the map, well on mine anyway
joriandrake rolls 1d20+6 and gets: 4, (+6) = 10
chris107: "Back to the tower?"
Sandor Sunneson: it's more to investigate no 6 on the map
joriandrake: I looked for signs of goblin movements btw
joriandrake: but I didnt find the trail or signs I assume
Sandor Sunneson: Well I got 14+3 on surviva;
joriandrake: "We need to question the goblin."
Smon: ...Following the faint trail, Prisha Sandor & Maglor come out on the south side of the river, overlooking an old ruined manor (#4)
chris107: DC20
chris107: we all failed
DESTROYERBILL: fergus your not allowed to use the map in game
joriandrake: Persuasion
joriandrake rolls 1d20+6 and gets: 4, (+6) = 10
Sandor Sunneson: We were originally given the map when entering the village,
Smon: SB with your dragon eyes you see your friends come out of the woods some way off to the north, just south of a small river.
joriandrake: I... I doN't think I was persuative enough
DESTROYERBILL: i will land
Sandor Sunneson: ok, to the tower
Smon: Your PCs don't know all the locations on the map.
Sandor Sunneson: ok
Smon: SB flies over & lands by his allies as they discuss returning east.
joriandrake: ooc: if persuasion doesn't work, others can use intimidation for same goal ,correct?
DESTROYERBILL: i try to interagate
Sandor Sunneson: head to the tower before it gets dark
Smon: The goblin is looking blankly at Prisha.
chris107: OOC any signs of life in the deserted manor house?
joriandrake: "I might be able to ask the goblin questions with divine aid, but I need to know what exact questions I should ask"
Smon: It's about 10am, plenty of time.
DESTROYERBILL: i say if you dont tell me where your layer is ill snap your neck like your buddy over ther
Smon: Maglor scans the ruin... roll perception maglor (only)
Sandor Sunneson: who told you to attack the village when there was previously peace?
Sandor Sunneson: ask the goblin
joriandrake: I let Bill do the interrogation/intimidation, but hope he doesn't actually kill the goblin
chris107 rolls 1d20+8 and gets: 9, (+8) = 17
DESTROYERBILL rolls 1d20+6 and gets: 12, (+6) = 18
Smon: The goblin whimpers. "Not kill goblin! Chief tell us set ambush!"
Smon: "Me takes you to lair if you not kill me!"
joriandrake: "I promise you will be spared and released if you tell us everything we ask in detail."
DESTROYERBILL: ill crush a dead goblin skull on the ground with my foot i say thanks for th in fo
Sandor Sunneson: So why did you goblins break peace with the village?
Smon: Maglor senses... something... in the ruined manor shell. Something is watching your group!
joriandrake: ooc: would that be an insight roll to notice?
chris107: Maglor whispers this to the group. "Don't look now but we are been watched."
Sandor Sunneson: can you sense what it is Maglor?
chris107: "Something within the walls of he manor."
joriandrake: Prisha raises one of her eyebrows as she looks atthe scared goblin staring at them and back to Maglor again. "Yes, I can see it"
chris107: "Nope."
Sandor Sunneson: Who is watching us Mr Goblin?
Sandor Sunneson: Do you know Mr Goblin?
joriandrake: "Goblin: Tell us where your tribe is located, what your Chief planned, who is allied to"
Smon: Goblin whimpers: "Mud Thing in ruin there! He very bad! Not goblin anymore!"
joriandrake: "not part of your chief's plans?"
Smon: "Chief is the Ur-Goblin! He say humans betray us! Send us to catch humans in revenge!"
Smon: SB goes over to a full grown tree and tries to snap it off... DC 28
joriandrake: "Now we're getting somewhere. How would humans betray you? In what manner or for what reason?"
DESTROYERBILL: rage
Smon: "The ceremony! Chief send 4 goblins! They not come back!"
DESTROYERBILL Rolls 1d20+13x2 and gets:
16 (+13) = 29
18 (+13) = 31
Sandor Sunneson: lets go to the ruin
joriandrake: I try to be very helpful and nice smiling at the goblin (goodcop act)
Smon: SB snaps a giant tree in half like a twig.
joriandrake: persuasion again
Smon: It crashes to the ground.
joriandrake rolls 1d20+7 and gets: 20, (+7) = 27
Sandor Sunneson: we're sorry what has happened to your clan
Sandor Sunneson: we will deal with the evil
Sandor Sunneson: To the ruin?
Smon: The goblin looks at Sandor puzzled. "You ARE the Evil!"
DESTROYERBILL: i am strong i break trees like twigs
chris107: (Finish with the Goblin first)
joriandrake: ooc: maybe our questions/actions are too much for S'mon to handle all at once, give him time to type out answers/reactions
Sandor Sunneson: What do you mean?
Smon: The witches look at SB. "Very impressive Mr Dragon! But we need to go now."
chris107: Maglor looks sadly at the once magnificent tree
Sandor Sunneson: Your clan kidnapped the ladies for no need
Smon: "Chief said catch humans! Revenge!"
Sandor Sunneson: and we rescued them and you fought as if possessed
DESTROYERBILL: can i show the goblin the tree
DESTROYERBILL: if you dont lead us to the cave soon you will end out like that tree
Smon: The witches nod to Sandor and Prisha. Blonde "These woods seem too dangerous for gathering mushrooms, we're going to try the marsh trail. See you around!"
DESTROYERBILL: bye
Smon: The witches bid you goodbye and depart south down the trail.
chris107: Maglor waves them off.
Sandor Sunneson: Shall we go to the ruim
Sandor Sunneson: bye ladies
chris107: (Shall we finish with the goblin first?)
joriandrake: Smon: SB snaps a giant tree in half like a twig. joriandrake: /roll d20+7 joriandrake rolls 1d20+7 and gets: 20, (+7) = 27 Smon: The goblin looks at Sandor puzzled. "You ARE the Evil!" DESTROYERBILL: i am strong i break trees like twigs chris107: (Finish with the Goblin first) joriandrake: ooc: maybe our questions/actions are too much for S'mon to handle all at once, give him time to type out answers/reactions Smon: The witches look at SB. "Very impressive Mr Dragon! But we need to go now." chris107: Maglor looks sadly at the once magnificent tree Sandor Sunneson: Your clan kidnapped the ladies for no need Smon: "Chief said catch humans! Revenge!"
Smon: The goblin is impressed by the broken tree but seems confused by everyone yelling at him.
chris107: (Our new lady just rolled 20 on a persuassion roll and Shieldbiter killed a tree)
Sandor Sunneson: Where is your chief now?
joriandrake: Tried to gather my stuff, roll was Persuasion (good cop act) as everyone else tried to terrify it
Smon: "Chief is in cave!"
Smon: brb hot chocolate
Sandor Sunneson: So it is his fault that you all got killed
Sandor Sunneson: Why did he want you to attack the village?
joriandrake: ok, then look through the questions and such S'mon before you/we continue
chris107: OOC - It would seem that the Goblin is going to tell us where the chief is. The Goblins think that the villagers betrayed them at the ceremony, the one where the jouse blew up. There is also the tower we cleared of stirges last week and some clay monster in the ruined manor.)
DESTROYERBILL: he wanted the goblins to attak the village for revenge 4 goblins go in 0 come out they did not know that the house exploded
Sandor Sunneson: yeah, in revenge for what? What did the humans do to the goblins to make you want revenge?
Sandor Sunneson: ok, got ya
chris107: They didn't
joriandrake: OOC: gathered info Goblins think humans betrayed them, 'mug thing' was once goblin but not anymore, seems to be not part of Chief's play,s GIVE THE GM TIME TO REACT/ANSWER
chris107: rhe house exploded for reasons yet unknown
Sandor Sunneson: correct,
chris107: I know
Sandor Sunneson: so we need to know why the 4 goblins disapeared lol
DESTROYERBILL: yep
chris107: So we have three possible courses of action
Sandor Sunneson: I suggest we do, go and see if that can be answered at the ruin to see if the thing watching us has anything to do with the exploding house
joriandrake: and if we manage to solve it, we need this goblin alive to be witness and proof of the deed (but please, do let the Gm return and reactto everything)
DESTROYERBILL: 1 kill every thing 2 negoitiate 3 just plane leave
chris107: 1) Explore the ruined tower
chris107: 2) explore the manor house
Sandor Sunneson: yes, I think we go to the ruined tower
chris107: 3) Go see the goblins
chris107: We are looking for clues to the explosion
DESTROYERBILL: i vote for 3
joriandrake: 4) Let poor smon read and reply to everything befoe we mess up the comment timeline further making it harder to read
chris107: once we get those we can hopefully bring peace back to the village/goblins
DESTROYERBILL: he is making hot choclate
chris107: My vote would be to search for further clues to then go back to the Goblins.
chris107: With our new Gobbo chum to say we are trying to help.
DESTROYERBILL: you diddnt put that up as a route
chris107: Don't make it difficult
chris107: 1 & 2 covered that
joriandrake: ... fine: my vote is to let the GM read and react to everything earlier, then continue talking with the goblin, then either fix the issue waht made the goblins hostile in the first place and have this living goblin be our witness and then go to the Chief to negotiate, OR go first to the Chief wit hthis goblin and TRY to negotiate and offering to fix the crisis which broke the peace down
chris107: Yes, you made that clear, Jorian.
Sandor Sunneson: tue
Sandor Sunneson: true
Smon: back & caught up
Smon: /roll d6
Sandor Sunneson: Tell the gobo chief what we have found so far
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 5,
Sandor Sunneson: oooooooooh
Sandor Sunneson: and hope he doesn;t attack us
joriandrake: please keep in mind my good cop persuasion roll was a natural 20 (27)
chris107: Maglor gives up and will just follow
Sandor Sunneson: of course
Smon: What are you doing?
Sandor Sunneson: I would say explore the ruin
Sandor Sunneson: explore the ruin
chris107: "Lead on McDuff."
joriandrake: joriandrake: ... fine: my vote is to let the GM read and react to everything earlier, then continue talking with the goblin (Persuasion 27), then either fix the issue what made the goblins hostile in the first place and have this living goblin be our witness and then go to the Chief to negotiate, OR go first to the Chief with this goblin and TRY to negotiate and offering to fix the crisis which broke the peace down
Sandor Sunneson: Ok, Sandor will lead on to the ruined tower
Smon: Sandor heads towards the ruined manor down by the river bank.
Smon: Rest of you follow?
Sandor Sunneson: he'll turn around and look
chris107: 30; behind
joriandrake: I guess they decided it then, I tell the goblin he is going with us, we will try to investigate the reason for this mess and then go to the Chief together to negotiate
Sandor Sunneson: there wll be clues at the tower
Smon: Sandor sees Maglor following 30' behind.
Sandor Sunneson: at the ruin
joriandrake: Which this golblin need to witness then to be proof of whatever we find
Smon: SB follows too.
joriandrake: I go then with goblin between me and SB (or maglor?)
Smon: Is Prisha bringing the goblin prisoner with her and following Sandor towards the ruined riverside manor?
DESTROYERBILL: i take the goblin prisoner on my shoulders
Smon: Sandor nears a breach in the manor's stone outer wall, stones tumbled.
joriandrake: and I told the goblin also why, I assume the persuasion natural 20 is convincing enough to make him understand we want him as witness and part of negotiation later
joriandrake: oh heck
Sandor Sunneson: lol
joriandrake: you have a goblin shoulder fetish?
Smon: SB picks up the goblin & carries it on his shoulders.
Smon: It rocks back & forth a bit.
joriandrake: fine, okay, whatever
Sandor Sunneson: Any prints on the ground?
DESTROYERBILL: just easiest way to carry a goblin comfterbly
joriandrake: "Don't drop him, and keep him alive"
Smon: Sandor smells something foul within the ruins.
Smon: Suddenly there is a growl as two huge dire wolves leap out at him!
Sandor Sunneson: There's something in there friends, be on alert, does anyone smell that?
joriandrake: I would like to roll arcane or religion to think of possible undead as "Mud thing"
Sandor Sunneson: rage
Smon: Sandor roll init (w advtg)
joriandrake: I attempt to identify the being described
joriandrake: (but pelase tell me which to roll)
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20+3 and gets: 20, (+3) = 23
chris107:
Smon: Behind the dire wolves comes clambering over the stones a bloated slimy figure resembling an enormous goblin carved of mud....
joriandrake: Do I roll Arcane or Religion to identify the being?
DESTROYERBILL: i have my shield and sword on my back
Smon: GM: Sandor reacts with lightning speed as the wolves leap at him - can rage & attack
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20 and gets: 9,
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20 and gets: 2,

Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d8 and gets: 1,
Sandor Sunneson rolls 2d6 and gets: 2, 4, = 6
joriandrake rolls 1d20+7 and gets: 8, (+7) = 15
Smon: Some kind of chaotic aberration maybe?
joriandrake: religion 15
Smon: Does not seem like a true Elemental.
Smon: Fergus what is your dmg total?
Sandor Sunneson: 7+9=16
joriandrake: ok, so it doesn't look like a golem (btw one of my languages is primordial so perhaps that helps a bit if it is elemental)
Smon: Sandor slashes at a wolf, drawing blood. They snap at him.
Smon: #1 wolf:
joriandrake: I shout at the being in Primordial "Do you understand me? What is your reason to be here? What do you want?"
Smon: /roll d20+5x2

Smon: init #16 Maglor your go

chris107: chris107: Maglor moves 30' to the side of Sandor and attacks with advantage (sneak?) with his flaming sword
Smon: ok you just stabbed it then, it drops
Smon: You don't need advtg when foe has your ally adjacent BTW
chris107: Then cunning action, disengage?
Smon: init 15, mud beast is attacking Maglor
Smon: Um, you have no move left?
chris107: Ah, super, thanks. Belt &braces though

15 (+13) = 28
9 (+13) = 22
8 (+13) = 21
9 (+13) = 22

1, 4 (+4) = 9
Smon: 6+9 = 15 dmg to Maglor
chris107: 51/66HP
Smon: SB leaps at the squishy monster and rips it apart!
Smon: The foul stench is unbelievable as bloated goblin entrails and other organs plop to the ground.
joriandrake: "Well, it certainly wasn't a golem"
chris107: "Ewwwww."
Smon: It appears that he is mostly mud, with a few bloated internal organs in the mix. The mud beast carried a massive club with which it hit Maglor, and has a coffer chained to his belt that hangs between his massive knees. The coffer is locked.
Sandor Sunneson: goulash, yum yum
chris107: To Goblin when all calms down. "This was one of your people?"
Smon: (you are out of combat)
DESTROYERBILL: i rip the coffer open
Smon: Prisha can cancel her bane spell & not lose it.
chris107: He also eyes the coffer greedily
joriandrake: i do that (cancel)
Smon: The goblib nods to Maglor. "Yes! He went Wrong though, so he was sent to live 'ere with the wolves!"
joriandrake: that isn't gulyás / goulash
chris107: "When did he go wrong my friend?"
joriandrake: "and what did he do then, and before it?"
Smon: SB roll athletics w advtg (raging)
joriandrake: ooc: I like having our own walking prisonder library
DESTROYERBILL Rolls 1d20+13x2 and gets:
15 (+13) = 28
7 (+13) = 20
Smon: DC 22 - the coffer is ripped open by SB with the enchanted gauntlets.
Smon: A fountain of electrum coins spill out, scattering across the ground.
joriandrake: please pelase don't explode whew
DESTROYERBILL: i grab as many as i can
Smon: "He was gonna be Ur-Goblin like Chief! But ceremony went wrong! He go all Muddy and Stinky!"
joriandrake: "You folks sure like the very direct approach"
Smon: Goblin: "That wuz chief's treasure box..."
chris107: "Tell me, please. What is Ur-Goblin?"
joriandrake: "What ceremony?" Prisha's attention focuses on the goblin
Smon: "Ur Goblins iz our leaders! Very powerful!"
Smon: "The Ceremony of Ascension! To Become Ur-Goblin!"
joriandrake: "He's your Chief, right?"
Smon: "Like Chief did!"
Smon: "Chief is Ur-Goblin!"
DESTROYERBILL: like the two i decapitated
chris107: To avoid confusing the poor creature, Maglor lets Prisha do her stuff.
Smon: The goblin shakes his head at SB. "No! Much stronger!"
joriandrake: To the group: "this creature was an experiment gone wrong, which means the goblin leadersip is likely the experiment gone right."
DESTROYERBILL: wow
Sandor Sunneson:
joriandrake: "If we meet your Chief, will he keep his word if agreeing to negotiate? Can you help us to get a peaceful audience"
Sandor Sunneson: Is there anything else in the tower?
Sandor Sunneson: or ruin of worth
chris107: OOC - We know that each year the (then) friendly Goblins held a ceromony with the towns folk. We know it went wrong this year. We know the Goblins blame the humans. We know Chaos Goblins are appearing. Perhaps because of the failed ceremony?)
joriandrake: ooc: wait a bit Sandor
Sandor Sunneson: I think these beasts were probably the cause of the problem
Sandor Sunneson: or maybe the mud thing
joriandrake: ooc: Chris the problem is I don't know how much Prisha knows of that, I assume not much as as the newcomer
Smon: A search of the ruined manor's filthy stinking interior turns up nothing more of value.
Sandor Sunneson: we go now to see the Gob chief in the cave
Sandor Sunneson: ?
Smon: Gathering the coins you get 2000 electrum, worth 1000 gp - 250 each if divided by the 4 of you
chris107: And say what?
DESTROYERBILL: i ask the goblin if the chief is as strong as the mud goblin
joriandrake: "No, this things is not the reason for whatever the cause is. It was abandoned, exiled here. A guardian for the Chief's chest which is now broken up."
Smon: The goblin nods at Prisha's words.
chris107: Rather than just dashing willy-nilly shall we come up with a plan?
joriandrake: joriandrake: "If we meet your Chief, will he keep his word if agreeing to negotiate? Can you help us to get a peaceful audience"
Smon: "Mud Beast there long time!"
Smon: The goblin looks puzzled. "Me... me can take you to Chief. Me not know what he do."
chris107: (OOC then the ceremony hasn't led to the chaos changes)
Smon: "Me ask for 'peaceful audience'."
chris107: (They predate it it would seem)
Smon: Is Maglor saying that?
DESTROYERBILL: talk to no fight ok
joriandrake: "I would like your help for this. In return we will release you in good faith. Our intent is to help both your people and to restore peace, and as such it is of benefit for all of us."
Smon: The goblin nods to SB.
chris107: yes, may as well Simon.
Sandor Sunneson: definetly
Smon: The goblin nods to Prisha.
joriandrake: OOC: remember i had a natural 20 persuasion on this goblin, i trust it wont flee
Smon: Goblin: "Humans not fight goblins. Goblins not fight humans. Like before."
joriandrake: I look at the group. "Are you all right with this agreement? Unbinding him so he leads us to the Chief?"
DESTROYERBILL: yep
Sandor Sunneson: Yes
Smon: OOC That 20 was the reason I decided the goblin understood the gist of your request Prisha even though the wording was far too complicated for him.
chris107: "Sure. Though I think both villagers and goblins are in league with chaos."
DESTROYERBILL: if he breaks promise i break him like tree
Smon: OOC I was explaining that to Bill when he objected to my over generous DMing just now.
joriandrake: OOC: i also know draconic should work no?
Smon: Prisha can roll an INT (Arcana) check DC 15
joriandrake: Well then (unbinding the goblin) from now on we are allies, we just have to make your Chief understand it as well
joriandrake: "Lead the way"
joriandrake: a sec
Sandor Sunneson: This is where Chris would roll a 1 or a 20
chris107: hehe
joriandrake rolls 1d20+7 and gets: 3, (+7) = 10
joriandrake: o.O
Sandor Sunneson: unlucky
Smon: ok fail
joriandrake: at least not an 1
chris107: hard lines.
Smon: Prisha has never heard of anything like this strange place before.
joriandrake: Well, I think our group now starts to follow the goblin as he's freed and leads the way
Sandor Sunneson:
Smon: Goblin: "Me take you see chief now..."
Sandor Sunneson: yes
Smon: He starts south down the trail...
Smon: ...And that's where I stop.
joriandrake: "Sorry about your companions, but you did attack us first."
chris107: M keeps a watchful eye out
Smon: OOC ok stopping there
joriandrake: End of session?
Smon: yup
Sandor Sunneson: Ja
Sandor Sunneson: Thank you Simon

L5 2-3/7/4447 Sandro Mordred Zagaar & Bright Star - The Final Outlaw (700 XP)

XP 700 +10205=10905/14000
Bright Star the Nemuan joins L5 group.

7:20pm  2017-12-19 chris107 Has entered the room
...
hris107: I have thelast map but I think we returned to Selatine?
Sandor Sunneson: yeah without Drakonak who went Kamikaze
chris107: Yeah
chris107: Crazy lizard nearly got us all killed.
Smon: GM: While Mordred Sandor & Zagaar were resting in Selatine & enjoying the celebrations, Bright Star & co wiped out the orc tribe and their war chief
Prince Skylio: gdsh
Smon: returning with vast quantities of loot, likely Oriax's ill gotten gains from a career of slaving.
Smon: http://smons.blogspot.co.uk/2017/12/236-and-246-to-77-lvl-1-4-stonehell.html
Smon: A couple weeks after Bright Star's triumphant return from Stonehell she is trained up and ready for action..
Sandor Sunneson: when does the wet season start?
chris107: Nice. The Selatine coffers will ovrflow no doubt!
Smon: Wet season starts M10 (October)
Smon: About 3 months from now
Sandor Sunneson: ok, cheers
Smon: You're in the middle of the dry season and the plains around Selatine are golden brown.
Keelia: Bright Star is lounging in the pub, enjoying her milk and listening for interesting gossip
Keelia: Particularly gossip involving shiny things
Smon: One evening Bright Star is in the Scalpy Inn when she sees Dr Rosa come in, looking around.
Smon: /roll d20
Smon rolls 1d20 and gets: 18,
chris107: Vizier Mordred has heard about the great wealth returned to poor Selatine.
Keelia: (sorry, how do you do the dice roll thing?)
Sandor Sunneson: type /roll
Smon: Scalpy Jack is telling a yarn about an albino ape in Stonehell who is smarter than most Men and can employ sorcery.
chris107: type /
Keelia: thanks!
Sandor Sunneson: and then whatever dice
chris107: roll
Smon: type /roll d20+5 for d20+5
Keelia: excellent, thanks!
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20 and gets: 18,
chris107: then the number and type of dice + any bonuses
Smon: type /roll d6+3 for d6+3
Keelia: Bright Star waves at Dr Rosa, recognizing her.
Smon: type /roll 4d6+5 for 4d6+5 etc
Smon: type /roll d20+5x2 to roll twice
Keelia: brilliant, thanks for explaining otherwise I'd be rolling real dice
chris107:
Smon: These online d6s love to roll 6....
Prince Skylio rolls 20d6 and gets: 1, 4, 2, 4, 4, 2, 6, 3, 6, 4, 1, 2, 5, 1, 4, 6, 4, 2, 4, 6, = 71
Smon: Rosa: "Ah, Bright Star! I was just looking for you. Mind if I join you?"
Keelia: "Indeed, Dr, Bright Star welcomes you."
Keelia: "Please, be comfortable" Bright Star waves her claws towards a chair
Smon: The tall doctor nods happily and sits with Bright Star, adjusting her glasses.
Keelia: "Bright Star is curious to know the fate of those who were with you last time."
Keelia: "They survived, yes? Or at least, mostly?"
Smon: "They are all well... except Drakonok of course, but I didn't really know him. I hear your dwarf returned his spear to Lord Shieldbiter? ...I'm planning another expedition to Stonehell..."
Keelia: "Yes, Friend Danor returned the spear."
Keelia: "Bright Star is interested in returning. She has found many shinies and would enjoy finding more"
Smon: "That's good. Shieldbiter can be a little erratic, I hear." Rosa looks a bit nervous: "...When I was last in Stonehell, I made contact, I think, with the mind of the Nixthisis. Do you recall we discussed it, briefly?"
Keelia: "Bright Star does remember. Bright Star and friends recently returned to recheck the shrine."
Smon: Rosa nods. "Did you find anything?"
Keelia: "Indeed, some more notes. One mentioned a Prince Elodir"
Smon: "Elidyr? Last King of Nerath?"
Keelia: And a Mad Visior."
Smon: "Ah yes, the Mad Vizier! Builder of Stonehell!"
Keelia: "Yes, something like that. Bright Star was more interested in shinies. And keeping the Bard from making off with the statue"
Keelia: (Or making out with it)
chris107:
Smon: Rosa nods, reddening slightly at the thought of Trystan. "Ah, yes, of course..."
Keelia: "But the King was only a Prince, not a king"
Smon: "Hm, well, every King was a Prince once!" she smiles.
Keelia: Bright Star grins. "Indeed! All cats start as kits. True!"
Smon: Rosa smiles warmly, nodding: "Well, Bright Star, I would like to invite you over to Lady Jana Vex's Hall. We need a Scout to help us find the way down to the lower levels of Stonehell. If you're interested? Lots of Shinies!"
Keelia: Bright Star's ears go forward, pleased. "Indeed, lead on to the shinies."
Keelia: She stands and motions for Dr Rosa to lead the way
Smon: GM: Dr Rosa smiles, standing, and escorts Bright Star out of the Inn and across the square to the oddly-angled Vex Villa.
Smon: Dark rumours say that beneath the Villa lies some kind of hideous torture chamber called a Shower Room, an artifact of the Ancients, whose soaps and water jets would do terrible things to a cat's fur...
Keelia: (Bright Star wishes it to be known she is of wild cat stock, not house cat, and she can indeed swim, even if it's distasteful :))
Smon: The bronze-clad guards at the entrance stand aside as Rosa leads Bright Star into the Hall, where Mordred and Sandro are at the evening feast with Lady Vex and the rest of her Hall, including Opara Kakas the young initiate of Mitra.
chris107:
Smon: LOL
Keelia: (but she will avoid this Shower Room simply as she doesn't see the need to get wet unnecessarily)
chris107: (Just like Zagaar)
Prince Skylio:
Smon: Zagaar is most likely confined to the stable block since his tendency to stink up the place is not appreciated.
Prince Skylio:
chris107: (Just like Kyle)
Smon: Rosa leads Bright Star over to Mordred and Sandro's couches.
Keelia: Bright Star nods at Mordred and Sandor in greeting
chris107: Mordred stands and bows formally
Smon: Rosa: "Bright Star here is interested in joining us!"
chris107: "My lady Brightstar I assume?" He smiles warmly
Sandor Sunneson: Cool, more the merrier, we need a replacement for Drakonak too
Smon: Rosa: "I've had the Smith make me a chain shirt in case any monsters try to stab me..."
Keelia: "Indeed," she grins. "Bright Star remembers you," you says to Mordred.
chris107: "And it is a pleasure to meet with you again. I believe your last trip to Stonehell ended very well?"
Keelia: "The monsters are indeed armed," Bright Star frowns, brushing at her tail's fur. "With strange things that draw metal to it, amongst other tricks
Sandor Sunneson: Magnetic stuff?
Keelia: She looks to Mordred. "Yes, we found many shinies."
Smon: You all notice that Vuthrik the Deathwalker, Lady Vex's tall and sinister enforcer, is talking with the short and shapely young Lady Vex about something serious.
Keelia: She turns to Sandor, "Yes, that. In the walls. It nearly got the Dwarf."
Keelia: Her ears direct towards the enforcer, straining to pick up anything interesting
Smon: Rosa sits on Mordred's couch (Roman/chaise longue type couches) listening to the adventurers talk.
Smon: Can roll Perception DC 15 BS
Keelia rolls 1d20+8 and gets: 10, (+8) = 18
chris107: M enjoys Dr. P's company very much. So civilised, so...educated.
Keelia: (hang on got to go read the tutorial up top!)
Keelia rolls 1d20+8 and gets: 4, (+8) = 12
Smon: Bright Star hears Vuthrik: "The woodcutters say the outlaw is lairing in Modnar's Cellar, an old ruin a mile or so into the woods... "
Keelia: Bright Star tilts her head, consideringly. "An outlaw in a Cellar. Does not sound like it has shinies."
Prince Skylio: Tired from a long day of wallowing in pig filth, Zagaar enters the room
Smon: Lady Vex: "Probably one of Yusan's brigands - hopefully among the last of them!"
Keelia: Bright Star wrinkles her nose. "Bright Star knows the face but not the smell"
Smon: Dead silence falls as the foul stench of Zagaar wafts into the Hall.
Prince Skylio: Zagaar sniffs his pits & recoils. "good morning"
chris107: "That's Zagaar."
Smon: it's evening
chris107: sighs the fastidious Valonean.
Keelia: Bright Star nods in understanding.
Smon: Rosa: "Oh hello Zagaar! Care to join me for a shower?!"
Prince Skylio: Zagaar glances to Bright Star and his eyes widen. "Greetings, tuna breath"
Smon: She says brightly, as the guards (returned from the wars) grip their spear shafts.
Smon: Glaring at the foul beast.
Prince Skylio: ".............."
Prince Skylio: "Yes"
Keelia: Bright Star gives Rosa a small moue of distaste.
Keelia: *at the word shower
Sandor Sunneson: hmmm
Smon: Rosa whispers: "Trust me... we need his hammer."
Keelia: She doesn't understand the necessity but has learned to put up with the oddity of those without fur
chris107: "Then perhaps we should find out more about this miscreant?"
Smon: Rosa beckons to Zagaar. "Follow me! They're amazing, it's like a Spa..."
chris107: M beckons over the last of the Deathwalkers
Prince Skylio: Z follows
chris107: (politely)
Keelia: Bright Star turns towards Zagaar and mutters, "Bright Star has not had tuna. It was cod."
Prince Skylio: He blows a kiss to Vuthrik and winks as he leaves
Smon: Rosa leads Zagaar down into the silvery tunnels beneath Vex Villa, to the Ancient-crafted enchanted showers with their waiting nozzles and soap dispensers.
Sandor Sunneson: Sandor sniggers
Sandor Sunneson: Sandro even
Smon: Rosa: "You're very dirty, we better focus on getting you clean..."
chris107:
Keelia: Bright Star turns her ears away from those headed for the shower and towards the Deathwalker
Smon: Upstairs Vuthrik strides over to Mordred. "Greetings, Vizier."
Prince Skylio: "As long as I may keep the residue in my belly button safe. I am saving it as a light appetizer for the road ahead"
Smon: Rosa nods, wincing as she strips off Zag's encrusted rags. "Oh, certainly..."
chris107: "Vuthrik, I trust you are well? Did I hear there are still some of that beastly fellow,Yusan's thugs still plaguing us?"
Smon: Vuthrik is a tall, broad shouldered Ghinoran human with a slightly cadaverous air.
Smon: He nods briefly to Sandro & BS then turns back to M.
Smon: "Just one, we think. But he's been waylaying woodcutters in the forest. They reckon he's holed up in one of the ruins near the trail."
Keelia: Bright Star sits foward, tail tip curling and uncurling slowly as she listens.
Smon: "Modnar's Cellar, it's called, after the Wizard who built a tower there. "
Sandor Sunneson: Sandro will acknowledge the nod and nod back
Smon: "No tower there now..."
chris107: "Well that will never do. Poor old wood cutters..."
Smon: Vuthrik nods. "There's a hundred gold bounty on the brigand, if you're interested?"
Keelia: (Bright Star considers asking what happened to the wizard, but decides her imagination can suffice. If the wizard had a tower and it was gone, he probably met an explosive end)
Sandor Sunneson: Is the criminal a fighter or magic user?
chris107: M asks for directions
Sandor Sunneson: or cleric perhaps?
chris107: M turns to his chums. "Shall we investigate?"
Keelia: (Uninterested by gold in general, Bright Star instead considers what shiny objects might be in the remains of the wizard's tower. Diamonds survived explosions)
Smon: Vuthrik: "Just a brigand, nothing fancy. Modnar's Cellar - take the trail to Thracia, then turn left a mile into the woods. It's a little ways through the trees. Don't go at night - the Thracian gnolls come out to hunt."
Smon: /roll d20
Smon rolls 1d20 and gets: 4,
chris107: "Then we leave at dawn?"
Sandor Sunneson: Thanks for the tip off Vuthirs
Smon: Vuthrik: "Oh, my people... the Deathwalkers say... said... the tower is cursed."
Smon: He looks uneasy. "Wizard stuff."
Keelia: Bright Star rolls her shoulders in a shrug. "Bright Star will assist. She will meet you before dawn. She just needs to buy a healing potion...what kind of curse?"
chris107: (OOC I'd love to explore more of Thracia some time)
chris107: "Try me, Vuthrik. It may help."
Smon: Vuthrik shakes his head. "I don't know... I was not a good student to the Elders."
Smon: OOC 4 on INT check
chris107:
chris107: OOC Shall we give this a go then guys?
Smon: GM: Bright Star knows Opara the initiate is here and can sell her healing potions.
Sandor Sunneson: sure
Keelia: Bright Star considers the Deathwalker, then agrees and heads off to buy 1 additional healing potion
Smon: Downstairs Rosa is getting Zagaar scrubbed up nicely.
Smon: Rosa: "There we go... You know you're not so bad with the poo off you!"
Smon: She smiles hopefully at Zagaar.
Smon: waiting doubtless for some foul emission.
chris107:
Prince Skylio: "It warms me through. Let us leave this vile place of cleanliness"
Smon: Rosa nods: "You go on ahead..."
Smon: She looks down at her filthy shit-stained robe and arms. "I just need to clean up."
chris107: M gets an early night, polishes his armour and says his prayers.
Prince Skylio: hahahaha
chris107:
Prince Skylio: "enjoy"
Keelia: Bright Star retreats to the Inn and curls up by the fire, ready to rise before dawn

Smon: Vuthrik the Last Deathwalker greets you at the Gate.
Smon: "Good luck, Vizier."
chris107: "Morning, Vuthrik."
chris107: "And thank you."
Smon: It's an unusually overcast day for this time of year, and relatively cool with a strong sea breeze.
Keelia: Bright Star stands upwind of Zagaar
Smon: GM: Any more equipping? Ready to go?
chris107: Mordred releases Berta, his owl chum to scout ahead from above.
chris107: all ready here
Keelia: Bright Star's fingers twich briefly as the Owl flies off but she does nothing more
Smon: From Selatine the once well-travelled road heads NW along the south bank of the gorge of the fast flowing Thrace River.
Smon: You pass the shepherds already out tending their flocks, whi *baaaa* and scamper away in panic at Zagaar's approach.
Smon: The large Ghinarian Shep-hounds watch the half orc closely.
Prince Skylio: Zagaar is saddened by the sight of his meals fleeing
Keelia: "A mile up then left in through the woods," Bright Star recites, eyes on the hounds.
Smon: After a couple miles across the plain you enter the dim green shroud of the Thrace woods.
Smon: Haunted by savage beastmen of Thracia, no one lives here, for to linger after sunset is Death.
chris107: If there is no longer a line of sight from above Berta will return to Mordred's sleeve

Smon: *splat*
Smon: It falls, face caved in.
chris107: Wow!
Smon: All 4 are dead, only Sandro was scathed.
Keelia: Bright Star surveys the dead BugBears and nods, then goes to fetch her two arrows, annoyed at having missed both times
chris107: Mordred wipes the blood and gore from The Sword of Omens.
Smon: BS gets an idea what Rosa meant about needing Zagaar's hammer...
Keelia: She takes the opportunity to check the bushes for further bugbears then doubles back to poke at the BugBears' bodies, looking for shinies
chris107: He may stink but he's a good man to have on your side
Smon: /roll 8d6

Keelia: (sure)
Smon: Large spiked mallets & morningstars, smelly hide armour, a couple javelins, shields.
chris107: set sentry for other wanderers
Sandor Sunneson: I have 27 left]
Smon: You sit down while Sandro binds his wounds.
chris107: Berta can help
Smon: Mordred is sure he has the right trail, it was once cobbled, long ago.
Sandor Sunneson rolls 2d6 and gets: 4, 1, = 5

Sandor Sunneson rolls 2d8 and gets: 4, 3, = 7

Sandor Sunneson: left
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 5,
Smon: You complete the short rest.
Smon: OOC really you should never roll your hd until AFTER completing the short rest. Tempts fate.
chris107: "This way chaps!" says an irritaitingly cherful Mordred
Keelia: Bright Star follows the cobbles, ears swivelling as she listens for further enemies
Smon: Players always roll at the START, never the END...
Smon: GM: About half a mile & 10 minutes down the trail, the trees ahead part and you see a small clearing edged by a ring of tumbled stones.
Smon: Definitely looks like the remains of an ancient tower.
Smon: Other stones have been flung 20-30 yards away into the woods and are now half buried in the mossy soil.
chris107: can we find cover while we watch?
Keelia: Bright Star pauses outside the ring and crouches to examine the stones, before standing and looking towards Mordred. "You know of magic, yes? No harm to step over stones?"
Sandor Sunneson: any guards on the tower ??
Smon: There was definitely a BIG explosion, Mordred can tell.
Smon: The stone ring is only 3-5' high and tumbledown, with a breach in the N where a door once stood.
chris107: "Vuthrik mentioned a curse old girl but that sort of stuff is out of my league ."
chris107: "Want me to send Berta in first?"
Keelia: Bright Star considers, then nods, even as she creeps towards the breach.
chris107: Berta flaps ahead
Keelia: She keeps close to the stones, ears alert and following the owl's flight.
Smon: Berta sees all... The tower—what little remains of it—has been reclaimed by the surrounding forest. Nothing more than a few toppled walls and moss-covered flagstones now remain. In the center of what was once the tower‘s ground floor is a rusty trapdoor with an attached iron pull ring.
Keelia: Peering around the breach, Bright Star checks for enemies and traps
Smon: BS reaches the breach, crouched low she also sees the ruined interior, a few crumbled steps all that's left of the tower stairs.
Smon: By these, the trapdoor.
chris107: M thinks aloud "If there was a curse or any magical traps. surely the bandit would have triggered them?
Smon: Can roll Survival or Investigate (WIS or INT)
Keelia rolls 1d20+6 and gets: 3, (+6) = 9
Sandor Sunneson: Sandro will scout ahead too
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20 and gets: 3,
Smon: DC 15 either way. Sandro joins BS.
Sandor Sunneson: +2=5 lol
Keelia: (Bright Star is distracted by the owl)
Smon: LOL
Sandor Sunneson: Yeah, bloody owl
chris107: (  )
Sandor Sunneson: Turn it into a kebab Zagaar
chris107: Meanies!
Sandor Sunneson: he won't say that out loud
Keelia: "One can be lucky and not trigger a trap," she murmurs, padding up to the trap door.
Prince Skylio: The owl is not worthy of Zagaar's refined tastebuds.
Smon: brb 2 mins
Keelia: (Cat + Bird = distraction, but Bright Star has enough control not to simply pounce)
Prince Skylio: OOC guys i'm going to have to finish early i'm so tired and barely keeping track of what's going on sorry  see you all next time
chris107: (Poor Berta. My owls have not had a lot of love in this game  )
Sandor Sunneson: sleep well, chat soon
Keelia: (ok, see you later! have a good night!)
9:06pm  2017-12-19 Prince Skylio Has exited the room
Smon: Zagaar goes to sleep under a tree.
Keelia: (I adopt all sorts of critters when I play but Star is still a large cat. She'll want to engage with it no matter what!)
Smon: Sweet dreams Zagaar!
Smon: BS reaches the trap door.
chris107: Christmas hours are killing him
Smon: The moss that once covered it is broken, clearly it has been recently used.
Keelia: She does another cursory glance for traps and to see if it had been recently opened.
Smon: can roll Investigate INT+prof
Keelia rolls 1d20+6 and gets: 14, (+6) = 20
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20 and gets: 15,
Sandor Sunneson: +0=15
Sandor Sunneson: pass
Smon: Definitely used, and frequently. The pull-circle has been oiled and cleaned.
Sandor Sunneson: quite recently then
Smon: You can roll Survival WIS+prof for tracks
Keelia: She tugs at the pull-circle, trying to open it quietly
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20 and gets: 20,
Sandor Sunneson: +2=22
Keelia rolls 1d20+2 and gets: 16, (+2) = 18
Smon: Looks like tracks of a single large human male in sandals.
Smon: Athletics DC 10 to open, not easy for BS
Keelia rolls 1d20+2 and gets: 5, (+2) = 7
Keelia: She cannot move it
Smon: BS yanks in vain. This is too much like work!
Keelia: She looks to Sandro and Mordred expectantly.
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20 and gets: 2,
Smon: Sandro moves to help... no luck.
Sandor Sunneson: lol quack quack oops
chris107: Mordred pads up
chris107: "Can I help?"
Smon: The trap door regards you contemptuously.
Keelia: Bright Star scowls at the trap door. She just wants shinies, not dirty trap doors. She nods at Mordred
Sandor Sunneson: give it a go son
chris107 rolls 1d20+6 and gets: 9, (+6) = 15
Smon: Mordred easily yanks open the heavy trapdoor.
Smon: Beyond, white marble steps spiral down into the depths.
Keelia: She pats Mordred on the shoulder and peers into the opening
chris107: He steps back to let his stealthy chums do their stuff.
Keelia: White Marble! Much more interesting than dirty trap doors. Even with sandal footprints marring the white surfaces
Sandor Sunneson: Sandro will try to hear any noise?>
Smon: It's dark down there.
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20 and gets: 4,
Smon: You get the impression there is a large space below.
Sandor Sunneson:
Smon: The smells of long-forgotten chemicals can be faintly detected amidst the stink of must and mildew.
Keelia: Bright Star has darkvision so she slips into the opening and peers down the stairs as far as she can see.
Smon: You hear only the wind rustling the treetops around you.
Smon: /roll d20
Smon rolls 1d20 and gets: 4,
chris107: Mordred stands ready with sword and shield if needed.
Smon: Looks like the steps spiral down some 30' to a flagstone floor.
Keelia: Bright Star murmurs this to her companions
Keelia: She glances at them, to confirm they want to continue
Smon: The room appears empty aside from strands of cobwebs that sway lazily in errant dungeon draughts. One of the stairs is slick with greenish slime.
chris107: M nods
chris107: "Watch the slime..."
Smon: You can't see the chamber walls from here, so can't see any exits.
Keelia: She starts down the stairs carefully, watching for enemies, and watching the slime. She knew of ooze after all. All Tabaxi did. It was hell to get out of fur.
chris107:
Smon: BS creeps carefully down the steps, and stepping over the slimy step.
Smon: Nearing the bottom, she can see the chamber is diamond shaped, about 30' across.
Smon: 4 dark archways stand around the walls - to N E S & W.
Keelia: She keeps one ear turned back towards the stairs, listening for goopy movement.
Keelia: She looks for places to hide, in case someone was already hiding there.
Smon: As BS's eyes adjust to the dim light, she can see there appear to be tunnels leading off from each archway.
Smon: There is plenty of debris on the floor.
Smon: shattered glassware, broken pottery, rusty and unidentifiable tools.
Smon: The only cover is the stone spiral of the stairway in the centre of the room.
Keelia: She chuffs lowly, a call for the others to come down but the sound wasn't designed to carry.
Smon: No way to hide from all 4 arches.
Smon: The arched ceiling is about 15' high at the centre where the stairway comes through.
chris107: Mallows a dim glow to illuminate his surroundings. He steps down over the sliy step into the room.
Keelia: Displeased by the lack of cover, she crouches, tail swishing agitatedly behind her as she waits for the others to come down the stairs
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 5,
Sandor Sunneson: Sandro will hear for odd noises again
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20 and gets: 12,
Smon: Mordred reaches the foot of the stairs, blade's light illuminating the bleak scene.
Smon: Sandro hears nothing. Is he descending?
Sandor Sunneson: yes, behind Mordredd
Smon: Light glitters on a couple puddles.
Smon: OK you all gather at the foot of the stairs.
Smon: Still no sign of life.
Keelia: Bright Star, hearing her companions approach, looks for tracks
Smon: Faint daylight from the open trapdoor above.
Keelia rolls 1d20+6 and gets: 20, (+6) = 26
chris107: He investigates the possible cover in the middle of the room before allowing his sword's light to blaze
Sandor Sunneson: excellent roll
chris107: nice
Keelia: (has to make up for the dismal rolls earlier in the fight)
Smon: Nice...
Smon: BS detects very faint tracks heading north.
Keelia: She points this out to the others.
Smon: It seems the man was pretty good at hiding his trail... but not from Bright Star!
Smon: DC 20
chris107:
Keelia:
chris107: "Want me to go ahead?"
Keelia: She considers, then murmurs for him to follow as she follows the tracks.
chris107: M creeps behind, sword and shield high
Sandor Sunneson: Sandro will follow behind her at a distance
Smon: 15' down the north tunnel, you see an oak door in the east wall.
chris107: stealth roll
Sandor Sunneson: in front of Mordred
chris107 rolls 1d20+3 and gets: 15, (+3) = 18
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20 and gets: 6,
Sandor Sunneson: +3=9
Smon: The tunnel continues straight another 25' ahead then turns east.
Keelia rolls 1d20+13 and gets: 18, (+13) = 31
Smon:
chris107: M points at the tracks then the door.
Keelia: Where do the tracks go?
Smon: Sandor sends a bone skittering across the trash littered floor.
Sandor Sunneson: +15=24
Keelia: (Into the door or down the hall?)
Smon: Make another check.
Smon: w advtg
Smon: DC 20
Keelia Rolls 1d20+6x2 and gets:
2 (+6) = 8
2 (+6) = 8
Smon: Not sure.
Keelia: (apparently Bright Star is completely distracted by the door).
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20 and gets: 19,
Smon: No obvious marks here.
Smon: She smells a faint whiff like Zagaar from the door, though.
Keelia: She turns her attention to the door and checks for traps
Sandor Sunneson: +2=21
chris107: nice pick up Ferg
Keelia rolls 1d20+6 and gets: 1, (+6) = 7
Smon: Sandro locates a foot print further past the door, heading N.
Keelia: (that 20 ate all the good rolls!)
Smon: No sign of traps.
Sandor Sunneson: Sandro will point this out to the others
Keelia: Bright Star does mention the smell in a low voice
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 1,
chris107: "Let's follow these prints." suggests M
Sandor Sunneson: nods
Smon: BS can roll an INT (history/investigate) check DC 8
chris107: "North."
Keelia rolls 1d20+6 and gets: 15, (+6) = 21
Keelia: investigation
Smon: The smell is oddly familiar - not just Zagaar's manure aftershave... she remembers! When Danor Gordak turned the tap in Stonehell's kitchen on her first trip there...
Smon: ...and green slime plopped out into the basin...
Smon: ..there was a stench just like this one!
Keelia: She hisses and retreats away from the door quickly. "Ooze!"
chris107: ewww
Keelia: She skitters after Sandro, glancing back once to ensure it wasn't seeping under the door
Smon: GM: No sign of ooze under door.
Smon: You head north to the turn.
chris107: turns?
Smon: The dark passage runs east, 10' ceiling.
chris107: thanks
Smon: Just past the turn east a side passage runs north.
chris107: M illuminates it
chris107: Tracks?
Smon: The light illuminates out to 30' (& dazzles BS's darkvision)
chris107: "Soz"
Smon: Both tunnels run beyond the range of your light.
Keelia: she grumbles, rubbing at her eyes.
Smon: You can make Survival checks DC 20
chris107: he dims it down.
Smon: This guy was definitely hiding his trail.
Keelia rolls 1d20+2 and gets: 10, (+2) = 12
Smon: (can add WIS+Prof)
chris107 rolls 1d20+6 and gets: 5, (+6) = 11
chris107: oops

Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20 and gets: 13,
Sandor Sunneson: +2=15
Sandor Sunneson: 13+3=16
Sandor Sunneson: =18
Smon: These passages are clearer, and no obvious footprints.
chris107: "Hmmmmm"
chris107: M listens in both directions for tell tale noises of habitation.
Smon: When Mordred shrouds his sword light, BS can see the N tunnel runs 40' then turns W.
chris107 rolls 1d20 and gets: 7,
Smon: M hears water trickling.
Smon: The E tunnel continues on beyond 60'.
chris107: "North?" Ventures Mordred
Keelia: "Bright Star sees the Northern tunnel turns West. She likes little tunnels - they lead to secrets. But men in a hurry stick to big tunnels."
chris107: "What say you, Sandro?"
Sandor Sunneson: if they are on the run or hiding, maybe not
Sandor Sunneson: yes north
Smon: Looking down the N tunnel, it seems damper, with numerous puddles on the floor.
Sandor Sunneson: shrugs
Smon: You head north, reach the turn - it stretches w into the distance.
Keelia: Bright Star nods and carefully starts picking her way down the tunnel, avoiding the puddles.
chris107: "Puddles would show wet prints if they were recent?"
Smon: Whoever built this maze had access to sorcery, most likely.
Smon: M can roll survival.
chris107 rolls 1d20+3 and gets: 20, (+3) = 23
Sandor Sunneson: easy, next!
chris107:
Keelia:
Smon: Hmm... Mordred scans the tunnel. The ground seems undisturbed, as if no one has passed this way in a long while.
chris107: "I suggest we go back."
Sandor Sunneson: nods
chris107: "Looks like our feline friend was right."
Keelia: Hearing Mordred's comment, Bright Star pauses and retreats, dodging the puddles once more.
Smon: GM: You retreat and take the drier eastern route.
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 5,
Sandor Sunneson: oooh
Smon: A lone rat scampers away at your approach.
Keelia: Bright Star growls at it
Smon: *eek* squeaks the rat as it vanishes. After 80' the passageway comes to an end with a decayed door in the n wall.
Keelia: Bright Star checks for recent usage / traps

Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20 and gets: 3,
Sandor Sunneson: +2=5 lol
Sandor Sunneson: lol
Smon: BS hears the squeaking of numerous (big?) rodents behind the door, they seem agitated. The door is latched from the far side, but there is a large rat hole gnawed at the base.
Smon: BS could probably unlatch it w her thieves' tool.
Keelia: She relays this to the others, drawing her sword quietly and setting it by her side.
Smon: (the thin piece of metal trick)
Keelia: She then turns her attention to the lock and draws her copper latch lifting tool
Keelia rolls 1d20+10 and gets: 3, (+10) = 13
Smon: thieves tools check DC 10
chris107: M wonders why a bandit would live with vermin? He keeps an eye out for hidden doors.
Smon: The decayed door fits poorly, BS jimmies it open.
Smon: As the latch falls open the door opens inwards...
Keelia: As soon as the door it unlatched, she snatches her sword off the floor
Smon: 7 enormous rodents look up from their feast of scraps, glaring with red-rimmed eyes.
Smon: Among trash and food scraps are tattered remmnants of tapestries, bits of furniture too.
Keelia: She growls lowly, warning them to keep their distance.
Smon: Chamber is 20' e-w by 30' n-s, 2 doors in w wall and a door at e end of n wall.
Smon: make Intimidate roll BS CHA+prof
Keelia rolls 1d20+2 and gets: 14, (+2) = 16
chris107:
Smon: Ancestral fear of the Kitty strikes at the heart of the savage rats, they quail and back away, fronts lowered, tails stiff.
Keelia: (can she tell if any of those doors look recently used?)
Smon: They retreat towards the N door, backing away.
Smon: Not from here.
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 2,
Keelia: "Bright Star is open to suggestions - which door do you wish to try?)
Smon: Metal plates are nailed to the face of the northern door - to keep the rats from chewing their way in?
Smon: The western doors look more decayed, with rat holes.
Keelia: "Oh. A protected room? What does it guard, Bright Star wonders...."
chris107: "Then taht looks likeour friends hide out."
Smon: But yet the rats congregate before the N door.
Keelia: Bright Star circles around the room, planning to herd the rats in another direction, growling low, tail fluffed and ears back.
Smon: /roll 2d6
chris107: M prepares to sleep the rats should they start to get bold
Smon rolls 2d6 and gets: 4, 6, = 10
Keelia: Intimidate?
Keelia rolls 1d20+2 and gets: 3, (+2) = 5
Smon: They're already intimidated... now they fail morale!
chris107: Yay!
Smon: Ratty courage breaks... with terrified squeaks the rat horde flee!
Keelia:
Smon: The rats scamper towards the n door on the w wall.
Smon: /roll d20
Keelia: Bright Star looks very pleased with herself as she moves up to investigate the door
Smon rolls 1d20 and gets: 20,
chris107: "Nice move Ms. Brightstar."
Sandor Sunneson: ooooooooooh
Keelia: She grins as she crouches to investigate the lock
Smon: Suddenly the door to BS's right is flung open and a massive X-bow twangs!
Keelia rolls 1d20+6 and gets: 11, (+6) = 17
chris107: "Shhhh....!"
Sandor Sunneson: Can Sandro throw it back?
Keelia: Half way down into a crouch, she rolls ?

Sandor Sunneson: the rat has been found in his pit
Smon: BS can roll Acrobatics to not grant advtg, DC 15
Keelia rolls 1d20+7 and gets: 19, (+7) = 26

Smon: /roll 2d10+3
Smon rolls 2d10+3 and gets: 8, 3, (+3) = 14
Keelia: Bright Star can use Uncanny Dodge?
Smon: It catches her side for 13, as she was reacting (made check) I'll allow Uncanny Dodge
Smon: so 14/2=7?
Keelia: yes
Smon: just clips her, better than the 2d10+3+3d6 we were looking at w sneak att
Keelia: (whew! much better!)
chris107: That would have stung.
Smon: The big black-bearded, scar-faced Altanian roars, casting aside X-bow and drawing twin battle axes...
Keelia: She yowls as her side is split open by the crossbow bolt and snatches up her sword, glancing about for somewhere to hide
Sandor Sunneson: Guess Zagaar ain;t present>?
chris107: M prepares to meet his charge, protecting his friends
Smon: roll init
Sandor Sunneson: Sandro will attack too
Smon: /roll d20+3

chris107 rolls 1d20+3 and gets: 8, (+3) = 11
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20 and gets: 10,
Keelia rolls 1d20+6 and gets: 16, (+6) = 22
Sandor Sunneson: +3=13
Smon: "Yusan! Yusan!" he yells through spettle-flecked lips, eyes wide with madness.
Smon: The damned cur, last of Yusan's brigand horde, sweeps his axes towards you...
Smon: #22 BS first!
Smon: "For Yusan! I'll slay ye all!"
Keelia: Bright Star lashes out with her sword, then uses Fancy Footwork to dark away without incurring an opportunity attack.
Smon: ok
Smon: AC 17
Keelia: (I think that still leaves me my bonus to hide?)
Keelia rolls 1d20+8 and gets: 12, (+8) = 20
Smon: yup
Keelia: she hits. Is anyone within 5 feet of the baddie except her?
Smon: BS slashes low beneath the whirling axes
Smon: no
Smon: You can ALWAYS sneak att in melee BS
Keelia: 4d6+5
Keelia rolls 4d6+5 and gets: 6, 3, 3, 5, (+5) = 22
chris107: yay
Sandor Sunneson: nice
Smon: "ugh" he grunts as blood flows.
Keelia: She ducks back and leaps behind some furniture and hides.
Keelia rolls 1d20+13 and gets: 1, (+13) = 14
Smon: BS hides behind a rotten chaise longue.
Smon: #13 Sandro
Smon: then Mordred, both go

Smon: R2 - BS is up
Smon: He's ignoring her, unseen, so advtg
Keelia: (When you're rabid, you don't aim very well)
Keelia: She drops her sword and draws her bow instead, popping up and shooting him
Smon: As the combatants enter the middle of the room, blood flies & blades flash.
Keelia rolls 1d20+7 and gets: 10, (+7) = 17
Smon: hit
Smon: The arrow strikes the back of his thick neck, exiting through his throat.
Keelia rolls 4d6+4 and gets: 1, 6, 5, 1, (+4) = 17
Smon: Choking he staggers and falls, axes clattering to the ground.
Smon: You have won.
Smon: OOC Well done
chris107: "Nice work."
Keelia: Standing from behind the furniture, she grins at her companions. "Well fought!"
Sandor Sunneson: well done, didn;t even need old smelly pants
Keelia: "Bright Star is still very interested in the protected door, but we should check his corpse before the rats get to it."
Sandor Sunneson: Lets decapitate the beast, so he doesn't come back as undead
Sandor Sunneson: It's the wilderlands way
chris107: "Good thinking" M stands watch incase the rats become bold.
Smon: The room the robber came out of is a den of ruined luxury, the chamber holds an assortment of the best furnishings its occupant could find in the cellar. A leaning bedstead, a warped set of chairs, a rickety table, and a mildewed divan occupy the room.
Smon: Sandro saws at the outlaw's head with his little blade.
Smon: Until it falls off.
Keelia: Bright Star checks for hidden doors or hiding spots, including under the bed
Sandor Sunneson: Hmmm, how I*IS
Smon: Under the divan in the outlaw's lair BS spots two bulging sacks sewed to the fabric.
Sandor Sunneson: any treasure?
Keelia rolls 1d20+6 and gets: 5, (+6) = 11
chris107: M provides light and keeps guard
Smon: The lair is 20' n-s by 30' e-w w a door in e wall.
Keelia: She cuts the sacks from their hiding place and drags them out into the other room
Keelia: she opens them.
Smon: BS emerges - a little dusty - with two coin sacks.
Smon: Inside, the robber has sorted his loot into silver and gold.
Smon: About 700 sp & 600 gp.
Keelia: "There is another door and Bright Star still wishes to see what is behind the metal door"
Sandor Sunneson: that's good of him
Smon: The metal reinforced door was the one the robber opened that led to his lair.
Smon: In the n wall of rat room
Sandor Sunneson: cool, 233 each sp and 200 gp each? the exra sp for the rats?
Keelia: (Ah, got it, thanks!)
Smon: 2 other doors lead w from rat room, and the lair has a door in e wall.
chris107: 631GP, 700SP so far
Keelia: She continues back into the lair and peers at the next door in the east wall
Keelia: she checks for traps
Keelia rolls 1d20+6 and gets: 20, (+6) = 26
Smon: BS was shooing the rats out the n door in the w wall when robber appeared behind her w x-bow.
Keelia: (I really need to draw myself a map when doing this - I get so confused without seeing it  )
Smon: The e door is latched from this side. There is a peephole.
Smon: (good plan)
chris107: (I got the map covered, will post it on FB)
Keelia: She peers through the peep hole as best she can
Keelia: (awesome)
Smon: Looking through peephole BS sees a dark room w a chest in the middle sat on a threadbear fur rug.
Keelia: She chortles happily and opens the door
Smon: room is 20 e-w by 30 n-s w a door at e end of s wall.
Smon: It opens easily when unlatched.
Keelia: She approaches the chest carefully, assuming it is trapped.
Keelia: She also checks the ceiling for anything that may drop on her
Smon: roll perception
Keelia: (It very well could be empty and bait)
chris107: M closes the metal door to keep rats out and stands in the doorway to the chest room
Keelia rolls 1d20+8 and gets: 20, (+8) = 28
Smon: lol
chris107: Nice roll!
Sandor Sunneson: Sandro will remain on alert
Smon: Something not right here...
Keelia: (all these crits suddenly!)
Smon: BS's vision suddenly shifts, with a lurching sensation, as her incredible perception pierces the veil of illusion...
Keelia: Bright Star pauses and her tail lashes agitatedly
Keelia: "Illusion! I knew it was too good to be true!"
chris107: "Illusion?!"
Sandor Sunneson: Blimey!
Smon: Moving or opening the chest will shift it off the trap‘s trip-stone beneath, yanking the invisible net that lies underneath the rug up to the ceiling on a likewise invisible pulley and rope mechanism. Anyone on the rug will be entangled in the rug and net.
Keelia: *Sorry that should have read "Bright Star knew it was too good to be true"
Smon: Don't ask how she 'sees' the invisible trap - it's a cat thing.
chris107:
Smon:
chris107: (OOC 10 mins for me guys  )
Keelia: (No worries!)
Smon: Finishing at 10.30
chris107: cool
Sandor Sunneson: that's fine
Keelia: She prods the net with her sword and works out how to get the chest out of the net
Smon: She can try to cut the invisible ropes....
Keelia: (Bright Star has super senses, where she can see different light spectrums, I'm sure)
Smon: If she fails could be entangled in the trap though...
Keelia: She will attempt to do this
Keelia: After telling Mordred and Sandro about her plan
Smon: DC 15 Thievery or Sleight of Hand
Keelia rolls 1d20 and gets: 8,
Keelia: 18
Smon: Invisible ropes fall to the floor.
chris107: phew
Keelia: I have +10 theives tools
Smon: The trap should now be inactive.
chris107:
Keelia: She carefully drags the chest away from the trap just to be safe
Sandor Sunneson:
Smon: In triumph, BS is able to safely flip open the unlocked chest .....it's empty.
chris107: (Rogues are pretty  in 5e)
Keelia: She attempts to open the chest
Smon:
Smon: The outlaw had it set up to catch intruders.
Keelia: She yowls in frustration. "Bright Star knew it!" she hissed.
chris107:
Keelia: "Empty. Bait!"
chris107: "Ah well, we killed the last of Yusan's marouders."
Keelia: She turns away from the chest in annoyance.
chris107: "ets head back to town."
Sandor Sunneson: true, back to surface?
chris107: "wE HAVE A NICE REWARD WAITING!"
Keelia: "Indeed. Bright Star does not want to linger with the ooze and the rats"
Smon: GM: Your triumphant little band returns to the surface, waking Zagaar.
chris107: Oops soz, caps lock
Keelia: Bright Star makes sure to walk upwind of Zagaar again, for her nose's sake.
chris107: "Aye Sandro. We hasve done what we came to do."
Smon: Back at Selatine late that afternoon, Vuthrik gives you the reward money (100 gp total - 25 each?) & Lady Vex thanks you for the swift work.
Sandor Sunneson: well done group
chris107: "And return much richer!"
Keelia: well done indeed!
Smon: Jana Vex: "That was most swift indeed! I am glad Selatine has such true protectors!"
chris107: Well done gguys! Good team work
Keelia: "Bright Star is pleased with this group, although it sometimes smells. She would be pleased to explore with you again."
chris107: OOC I'll post the map on FB tomorrow.
Keelia: (thanks!)
Sandor Sunneson: 25 each?? lol, not 100 each? #
Sandor Sunneson: ok, is what it is
chris107: Good to meet you Keelia.
Smon: She looks at Bright Star, the short young Lady about eye level with the Nemuan cat girl. "My thanks, Bright Star. I shall have Calyakka provide you the freshest milk from my dairy!"
Smon: XP is 700 each
chris107: 731/4 GP
Keelia: (Nice to meet you as well  )
