Keelia: She starts down the stairs carefully, watching for enemies, and watching the slime. She knew of ooze after all. All Tabaxi did. It was hell to get out of fur.

Smon: Nearing the bottom, she can see the chamber is diamond shaped, about 30' across.

Keelia: She looks for places to hide, in case someone was already hiding there.
Smon: As BS's eyes adjust to the dim light, she can see there appear to be tunnels leading off from each archway.
Smon: There is plenty of debris on the floor.
Smon: shattered glassware, broken pottery, rusty and unidentifiable tools.
Smon: The only cover is the stone spiral of the stairway in the centre of the room.
Keelia: She chuffs lowly, a call for the others to come down but the sound wasn't designed to carry.

Smon: Inside, the robber has sorted his loot into silver and gold.
Smon: About 700 sp & 600 gp.
Keelia: "There is another door and Bright Star still wishes to see what is behind the metal door"

Smon: The metal reinforced door was the one the robber opened that led to his lair.
Smon: In the n wall of rat room

Smon: 2 other doors lead w from rat room, and the lair has a door in e wall.

Keelia: She continues back into the lair and peers at the next door in the east wall
Keelia: she checks for traps
Keelia rolls 1d20+6 and gets: 20, (+6) = 26
Smon: BS was shooing the rats out the n door in the w wall when robber appeared behind her w x-bow.
Keelia: (I really need to draw myself a map when doing this - I get so confused without seeing it )
Smon: The e door is latched from this side. There is a peephole.
Smon: (good plan)

Smon: Looking through peephole BS sees a dark room w a chest in the middle sat on a threadbear fur rug.
Keelia: She chortles happily and opens the door
Smon: room is 20 e-w by 30 n-s w a door at e end of s wall.
Smon: It opens easily when unlatched.
Keelia: She approaches the chest carefully, assuming it is trapped.
Keelia: She also checks the ceiling for anything that may drop on her
Smon: roll perception
Keelia: (It very well could be empty and bait)

Keelia rolls 1d20+8 and gets: 20, (+8) = 28

Smon: Something not right here...
Keelia: (all these crits suddenly!)
Smon: BS's vision suddenly shifts, with a lurching sensation, as her incredible perception pierces the veil of illusion...
Keelia: Bright Star pauses and her tail lashes agitatedly
Keelia: "Illusion! I knew it was too good to be true!"

Sandor Sunneson: Blimey!
Smon: Moving or opening the chest will shift it off the trap‘s trip-stone beneath, yanking the invisible net that lies underneath the rug up to the ceiling on a likewise invisible pulley and rope mechanism. Anyone on the rug will be entangled in the rug and net.
Keelia: *Sorry that should have read "Bright Star knew it was too good to be true"
Smon: Don't ask how she 'sees' the invisible trap - it's a cat thing.

Smon: If she fails could be entangled in the trap though...
Keelia: She will attempt to do this
Keelia: After telling Mordred and Sandro about her plan
Smon: DC 15 Thievery or Sleight of Hand
Keelia rolls 1d20 and gets: 8,
Keelia: 18
Smon: Invisible ropes fall to the floor.

Smon: The trap should now be inactive.

Keelia: She carefully drags the chest away from the trap just to be safe
Sandor Sunneson:
Smon: In triumph, BS is able to safely flip open the unlocked chest .....it's empty.

Keelia: She attempts to open the chest

Smon: The outlaw had it set up to catch intruders.
Keelia: She yowls in frustration. "Bright Star knew it!" she hissed.

chris107: "Ah well, we killed the last of Yusan's marouders."
Keelia: She turns away from the chest in annoyance.
chris107: "ets head back to town."
Sandor Sunneson: true, back to surface?
chris107: "wE HAVE A NICE REWARD WAITING!"
Keelia: "Indeed. Bright Star does not want to linger with the ooze and the rats"
Smon: GM: Your triumphant little band returns to the surface, waking Zagaar.

Keelia: Bright Star makes sure to walk upwind of Zagaar again, for her nose's sake.

Smon: Back at Selatine late that afternoon, Vuthrik gives you the reward money (100 gp total - 25 each?) & Lady Vex thanks you for the swift work.
