Smon: Hi chris & Bill
DESTROYERBILL: hi
Smon: last sesh http://smons.blogspot.com/2018/07/11-1774448-s-snakes-1500-xp.html
Smon: >>GM: The good news is that the bloodied demon snake, its guards dead, retreats to more hospitable climes, and the serpent infestation comes to an end. A week later Sigurd wakes in a clean bed in the Temple of Mitra (+14 hp). Generik is rewarded 300gp from the king for his heroism. Smon: You both get 1500 XP chris107: nice one! And thanks Bill! Smon: No sign of the vast treasures Sigurd glimpsed in the fallen Fane. DESTROYERBILL: thank you my leige Smon: King Anoethin nods affably. "Don't mention ! Least we could do, eh." chris107: I feel a conversion coming on for Sigurd. Deserted in his moment of need by the old gods of the Skandiks and saved by the White Lion. Sigs hatred of Set may just drive him into the faithful of Mitra!<<
chris107: Hi Simon, how was the film?
DESTROYERBILL: it was a good film

DESTROYERBILL: can i buy more darts
chris107: Evening Craig
Smon: 18/7/4448 BCCC After a week slipping in and out of consciousness, Sigurd the Skandik awakens in the infirmary of the Temple of Modron beneath clean sheets. Princess Philomena sits beside him in the white & gold of a Priestess of Mitra.
Upper_Krust: Hey there Chris!
Smon: His wounds are gone, his strength recovered. Philly smiles gratefully down at him. "You're awake at last! we were all worried... father was worried."
Smon: (well done Craig getting logged in)

chris107: Sigurd is very pleased to be alive.
Upper_Krust: where are you?
DESTROYERBILL: i will buy 9 darts
chris107: "I...I felt the mighty Lion standing over me. Keeping the snake from the fatal strike..."
chris107: (I'm in Haworth in Yorkshire)
Smon: Philomena nods. "The Lord has plans for you! ...But not, father thinks, to raise a Skandik army in Armagh... at least, not yet."
Upper_Krust: cool, I am in the next room to Simon and Bill
chris107: Sig nods.
chris107: He tries to rise.
chris107: "How did I escape? How did I get here?"
Upper_Krust: (ah I see non-gaming text in brackets)
Smon: Sigurd rises, a little unsteady. She looks to the window, the morning sun filtering in the glass. "They say there will soon be a decisive battle between the Overlord and the Skandiks... I mean Ossary. And more reports have come in of threats to our lands." She pauses. "The wizard brought you back to the Watchtower. He is with Chamberlain Drawlin now - they would both like to see you."
chris107: (you got it)
Smon: {:)}
chris107: "Then I owe both Mitra and Generik a debt."
Smon: "Debts I am sure you will repay..."

In the Chamberlain's quarters, he is meeting with his old friend the Wizard Generyk, and a knight of Modron
Upper_Krust: (Madron of Modron)
chris107: "Generik, thank you for rescuing me. And you sirare?"
Smon: Generyk roll a save (INT)

DESTROYERBILL rolls 1d20+1 and gets: 17, (+1) = 18
chris107: nice
Smon: Generyk you sense that the finely woven rug in here is a powerful magical item!
DESTROYERBILL: really
DESTROYERBILL: is it a flying carpet
Upper_Krust: I am Madron...son of Modron...owner of the magic blade
DESTROYERBILL rolls 1d20+1 and gets: 20, (+1) = 21
Smon: Old Drawlin the Chamberlain nods to Sigurd "Good to see you up and about!"
Smon: Generyk looks inquisitively at the fine rug
chris107: "It seems it is not yet my time."
DESTROYERBILL: how much for this carpet its caught my eye since its so beutiful
Smon: Drawlin: "Oh? That old thing? Rather fine, eh? Say 50 gold."
DESTROYERBILL: sure here you go my good sir
chris107: "Please let me pay for that for you, Generik. As a thank you."
Smon: Drawlin nods and shakes G's hand. "I shall have a slave deliver it to your quarters."
DESTROYERBILL: thank you sigurd
chris107: "You're more than welcome."
DESTROYERBILL: my greatist gratitude sigurd
Smon: GM: Can carry 3 people at 180' speed 1-2 people/300' w 1 passenger
chris107: (crossed off)
Smon: Drawlin: "Now, shall we get down to business? News from the east is that soon, gods willing, we shall bring the Skandiks to battle and crush them... but for now, evil things creep into the lands of men."
Upper_Krust: The blade of Madron is ready to stand against the tide of evil!
Smon: "The reports of red mushrooms wandering Falifell are more serious than first believed... they may be Redcap gnomes, summoned by a now deceased wizard! Some undead brute stalks the lands east of Brass Gate, more gnomes - blue ones - have been wreaking havoc near Oldspell, and in Thornwood the Blessed Fountain has turned dark and foul... that's just this week!"
DESTROYERBILL: ooc it was a flying carpet the person who sold it to generik diddnt know it was magic
Smon: Drawlin: "I have taken the liberty of ordering the palace smiths to forge silver daggers for you, in case of enchanted monsters."
chris107: "What imperils us most?"
chris107: "If you could get them to forge some plates and such to improve my armour, that would be most helpful."
Smon: He looks over his reports. "I'm not sure... any preference? The blue gnomes have kidnapped Wirry Sunmeadow's dog... and attempted to burn down a wheat field. Oh, and at Redstone Farm at the foot of Mt Wolfscrag, farmer Alfred has been found pecked to death. Possibly by chickens."
Smon: Drawlin eyes Sigurd. "Well, of course, all the steel plate suitable for armour went with our boys to the war... but I'm sure they can make more. Once you're a knight of Modron."
Smon: Sigurd roll a save (INT)
chris107 rolls 1d20 and gets: 19,
chris107: saved
Smon: Sigurd has heard that among the Alryans, plate armour is regarded as knightly harness, unsuitable for the common riff-raff.
chris107: Oh that counts Sigurd out then. He's proper riff-raff
Smon: Drawlin: "However my guess would be the Redcaps may be the most fearsome. The villagers are quite in a panic. If you go there, seek out Sully Windheart at the Dancing Dragon Inn."
chris107: "Shall we be off to the Dancing Dragon then, chaps?"
Smon: GM: Drawlin rings a hand bell. After a short delay a shapely slave girl in white linen enters bearing a cushion on which lie three fine silver daggers. Drawlin: "For you, my friends. No charge!"
Upper_Krust: Let us go, the Dancing Dragon it is!
Smon: The girl kneels and presents you your weapons (d4 dmg)
chris107: "A fine and useful gift."
DESTROYERBILL: i take the silver daggar and throw my old daggar away
Smon: GM OOC I just want it on record you again chose the reportedly MOST THREATENING threat
Smon: Drawlin: "Take the ferry cross the Modron, then bear south to Falifell. Here, these pins will show you're on King's Business."
Smon: He hands out three brooch pins bearing the visage of Modron, the River Goddess.
chris107: afk 1 min
Upper_Krust: Most useful gifts, my thanks.
chris107: back
Smon: GM: You bid Drawlin farewell. Sir Madron in his shining armour can lead the way down to the quayside, where the ferryman hurries to attend you.
DESTROYERBILL: i take my pin
Smon: Ferryman: "Falifell lies about twenty miles south, where the Modron bends east. Nice wee place." *punt* *punt*
Smon: /roll d8
Smon rolls 1d8 and gets: 6,
chris107: Sigurd is glad to be back on water.
Smon: It's a lovely sunny day, barely a cloud in the sky, as the ferry soon reaches the west bank. The trail winds south past Southwatch Castle, normally bristling with soldiers and warrior priests, but quiet now with 3/4 of her garrison away at the wars.
DESTROYERBILL: we should go on my magic carpet
Smon: You stroll along, Madron is getting pretty warm in his armour. Generyk stops and unrolls his new rug on the pathway.
Smon: The rug lies there in the dust.
Smon: Nice abstract pattern - Viridian, looks like.
DESTROYERBILL: i sit on it and command it to float
Smon: And the carpet rises!!!
Upper_Krust: (how long to remove and replace the breastplate)

DESTROYERBILL: everyone get on the rug
chris107: sig gets on
Upper_Krust: (I take off the breastplate for the rug journey)
Smon: GM: Everyone gets on the rug. Madron unstraps his breastplate, letting the cool breeze in.
Upper_Krust: How long should the journey take us by yon flying contraption?
DESTROYERBILL: i command the rug to go to are destanation and fly 5 foot off the ground
DESTROYERBILL: it will take 2 and a half houres to complete the journey
Smon: The carpet whizzes along at nap-of earth, passing the occasional gawping peasant on oxcart or disinterested pig.
Smon: 2.5 hours later you approach Falifell, a good sized market village on the south bank of the shining Modron river. The place is like a ghost town, hardly a soul in sight.
chris107: Sigurd waves at the gawping peasants
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 6,
Upper_Krust: I replace my breastplate as we see the town in the distance
