(Rey Rogue LEVEL 8 XP 37588/48000)
(Thuruar, Cleric LEVEL 7 XP 25304/34000)
Smon: OK, I reckon I'll get started. I'll NPC Thuruar & Rey as necessary.
chris107:
chris107: H wants to go secure Bjorn's boat
chris107: And use it to head for the little village that will take them close to the Midnight Goddess hills
Smon: You want to return to Selatine?
Smon: You could also send a message to Happy Iocunnu to bring the boat to Ahyf?
chris107: I think that would be wise. The timescale is getting tough
chris107: Ahyf would be better
Smon: Or Clear Meadows maybe, there's only a little harbour there but it could anchor offshore.
chris107: H has this idea
chris107: He wants to get to the Midnight Goddess Hills and catch up with his clan. Maybe kill a local Demon?
chris107: Then take Dragon head and demon stuff to the clanmoot.
chris107: While the other guys aren't here. That's where he will head.
Smon: OK, you want to head out alone? It's about 4 weeks until the Clan Moot.
chris107: Yup
chris107: H will travel Barbarian like. Slowly and carfully
Smon: Overland via the ferry at Cahli through Nerathi territory, or try to hire a boat at Clear Meadows?
chris107: if alone
chris107: let me bring up the map
Smon: https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiFCG1oAJwFOGbYkrEhYfj7jyzNTItL8vU8Etg7GEL2k71t9JAdxmXtb2jaHPeBMkcFyRj6t8yAGmJZYSTVSYMhTBk3BGcmcryUF37ffHzHc3D-8mtvfu90vGJfbwdPM2o1JhOAvGIduHA/s640/Ghinarian+Hills.jpg
chris107: Thusia, scouting the Halls of Tizun Thane
chris107: Cahli
Smon: You would have come overland originally, swimming the Fairhills river then ferry at Cahli before entering the hills.
chris107: 3228
chris107: around the coast
chris107: North into the hills
Smon: GM: 13/2/4446: Recovered from his great battle with the red dragon of Dur, one fine morning Hakeem bids his wife farewell...
Smon: Malenn: "Come back safe my love!"
chris107:
chris107: "Look after our child!"
Smon: Malenn nods. "Never worry." A final embrace, the securing of the great dragon head atop his pack, and off he goes...
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 3,
chris107: H will be more circumspect than usual
chris107: using every ounce of his barbarian skills
Smon: GM: The weather is overcast as you head north-north-west from Thusia, the high cone of the caldera that holds Tizun Thane's Hall looming close by to your right.
Smon: They say it's death to pass this way at night...
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 2,
chris107: H creeps as close as he dare without been spotted.
Smon: Hakeem makes good time.
Smon: Are you going to climb the volcano to see Tizun's Hall?
chris107: Mmmmm how long would it take? Would he be able to clear the area before nightfall if he did?
Smon: You'll not reach the Cahli ferry before nightfall if you do.
chris107: Then he will come back later to see. he has important stuff to do.
Smon: GM: OK, fighting the urge to view the famous Hall, Hakeem heads down out of the Ghinarian Hills that afternoon onto the lightly forested plain of the Cedarwade.
chris107: he sets off again at a swift pace.
Smon: In earlier times this land was densely populated; here and there the ruins of villages and manors can still be spotted, tumbled and vine-wrapped.
chris107: he just keeps going. Avoiding temptation..
Smon: A little before dusk you reach the ferry-village of Cahli, farmers hurrying home before nightfall.
Smon: Iron shutters protect all the windows here.
chris107: He has 4GP. Will this buy him a room at an inn?
Smon: The villagers watch you curiously as you head in.
Smon: You just have time to take the ferry tonight, or you can seek boarding at the inn.
chris107: Board at the inn. Set off early
chris107: If his 4 GP will cover it
Smon: GM: Hakeem enters the Ferryboat tavern, the genial Innkeeper greets him, tells him a room with board is 5sp.
chris107:
Smon: "Don't open the shutters on yer window or the Night Things'll have ya!"
chris107: another 5 sp on grog?
chris107: "Night things?"
Smon: "Aye! They've plagued us fer many years. Dancin' horrors of the Outer Dark, they say. They come from old Tizun's Hall. Many've tried to stop 'em... none return."
Smon: "Reckon Diker Thane ain't got no control of 'em..."
chris107: H looks interested. "I'd love to stay and slay these things for you. But i got to get to the clan moot."
chris107: H does the sums
chris107: can he empty the Halls and still have time to get to the moot?
Smon: The Innkeep nods. "Just as well - ye'd perish like all the rest... Well a couple men did return, seven years back - said they'd killed Thraak, Tizun's guard-ape. They weren't messin' with the Night Things, though."
chris107: H shrugs
Smon: The Moot should be starting in about 4 weeks so you have plenty of time I guess.
chris107: No. I decided that H wants to go see his own clan. maybe try and slay a demon. Then mooch down to the moot.
Smon: /roll d3
Smon rolls 1d3 and gets: 3
Smon: Hakeem notices three adventurous types drinking at another table - elf, dwarf, and a strange woman, scantily clad but for golden vambrace.
chris107: H will play it cool. But listen if he can
Smon: The woman - a warrior of Karak by the look of her - looks over at Hakeem. "Good evening, friend. You heading north too?"
chris107: "Lady, gents. I am."
Smon: Woman/girl - https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgq3eOvqo_BwekVEYkkwuxOjFrs_aFQoz0HYMEHpyEZd8quLwCzRdaQn9BxXszBALJKZwmhV3nSrt-BNWEnvDygsUKiHyLAJwbpwejyTqcUgKm0WHOrQWbWC3MswHlCHKrdRsfDqZ4J-Ww/s1600/Miya,+Dragon+Samurai+Knight.jpg

Smon: She smiles. "We are also going that way. Perhaps tomorrow we can travel together?"
chris107: Ah, I recognize the picture of the Samurai woman from the blog
chris107: H shrugs again. 'Perhaps." he says
chris107: Retiring early to be fresh in the A.M.
Smon: She nods. "I am Miya, Samurai of Karak...This is the mage Elfric and Berk..."
Smon: The halfling looks dubiously at Hakeem, the elf ignores him, sipping his wine.
chris107: H nods in a friendly fashion.
Smon: GM: Berk nods back. "Yer a big 'un and no mistake!" Is Hakeem retiring now or talking to them?
chris107: Then begs his absense. he goes to bed. Leaving something heavy propped up behind the door. His sword to hand.
Smon: GM: You retire to bed, the Innkeep locks your door "in case the Night Things get in", doing the same with the adventurers' rooms.
Smon: Do you keep your window shutters closed?
chris107: yes
chris107: H has bigger fish to fry
Smon: OK, the night is hot and humid, but passes peacefully.
Smon: Next morning you breakfast and can head down to the ferry, Miya Berk & Elfric following behind.
chris107: Early breakfast then set out at a ground eating lope.
Smon: Miya collects a war-steed from the stable as you reach the ferry. The grizzled boatman charges you 2 sp to cross.
chris107: noted
Smon: The other adventurers pay too - 8 sp for the horse - and you are poled across the river.
Smon: On the far side the adventurers scan the road ahead, looking tense, and set off down it towards Hara/Mara.
Smon: You could go with them north, or break n-e immediately heading overland towards the next river?
chris107: yup
Smon: n-e?
chris107: river
Smon: OK, you head through the woods, seeing here and there signs of actual habitation, woodsmoke from small steadings that yet endure.
chris107: Yeah. he doesn't trust these guys
Smon: A couple hours brings you to the southern bank of the broad Farhills river.
Smon: Looking right (se) the river opens out to the sea at the Korm Basin.
chris107: Does the river seem to have a bridge?
Smon: The nearest bridge is 20 miles north at Hara. It's not an easy swim across for a man carrying a red dragon head on his back...
chris107: H admires the view of the Korm basin
Smon: OTOH you can always swim-rage if you start drowning.
chris107: Bugger.
chris107: hehe
chris107: he will head straight for the river.
chris107: or even towards the coast
chris107: where there maybe a boat?
Smon: You head downstream towards the coast.
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 4,
chris107: or a ford?
Smon: Yes, no ford but soon you see a fishing vessel ahead coming upstream, it seems heavy-laden. It has a single red sail, looks Nerathi.
chris107: he makes sure he is not been followed at regular intervals
chris107: H tries to hide. See if he can make out any details of the boat.
Smon: You could probably swim out to the boat and clamber aboard easily enough.
Smon: /roll 2d4
Smon rolls 2d4 and gets: 1, 1, = 2
Smon: You see only two fishermen, father and son perhaps, steering the boat upstream on the incoming tide, the sail billowing.
Smon: /roll d20
Smon rolls 1d20 and gets: 18,
Smon: You're well hidden in the undergrowth as it draws near.
chris107: H flags them down and offers 4 silver to take him across.
Smon: Nets full of fresh-caught fish fill half the open deck.
Smon: Hakeem stands up & waves...
Smon: DC 20 CHA check.
chris107 rolls 1d20+1 and gets: 17, (+1) = 18
Smon: !!
chris107:
Smon: With prof +4, pass!
chris107: prof +4
Smon: The fishermen look nervous but bring the ship in to shore, where Hakeem can wade out and clamber aboard.
Smon: The old one nods. "Yer Greywolf?"
chris107: "hello chaps! How goes your day? "
Smon: The boy looks fearfully at Hakeem, clutching an icon of Erathis that hangs on a cord at his throat.
chris107: "I am."
chris107: "How are things on the river and beyond?"
Smon: "Thought so. Greywolf mostly alright... Fishing's good, as ye can see."
chris107: "You do well father."
chris107: "Can you drop me across?"
Smon: The boy relaxes and pipes up: "We'll get a great price! The army of New Nerath has arrived, they'll need feeding!"
chris107: "Where dwell the army son?"
Smon: The father nods to Hakeem, grimaces at the boy. "Well. SOME of em will need feedin'..."
Smon: The boy looks to Hakeem. "They're camped at Hara! Three days ago. The living men, and the...."
Smon: "And the dead." says the dad.
chris107: "Would you drop me short of the army? I don't fancy press ganging into their ranks."
Smon: "Ere, we'll just drop you on the north bank, comin' in now..."
Smon: Boy: "I hear they're marching on Nera! They're going to reclaim the Imperial Capital! Nerath is Rising Again!"
chris107: "Thanks guys." he drops an extra silver.
chris107: H makes a note of this
Smon: The ship comes in close to the north shore, the dad expert on the tiller.
chris107: H leaps ashore
Smon: Fisherman: "Yeah, if you're headin' north, better watch out fer scouts. Reckon they don't like Altani so much."
chris107: And continues towards the Midnight Goddess Hills. Been sure to avoid the nerathi
chris107: "Thanks!"
Smon: Hakeem bids them farewell and heads north, light woods giving way to rolling coastal plain.
Smon: /roll d6x2
Smon Rolls 1d6x2 and gets:
1 = 1
2 = 2
Smon: You see a few flocks of sheep in the distance, but are unmolested and make good time.
chris107:
chris107: H tries to guess his distance and time to the Hills.
Smon: As night falls you have travelled some 40 miles from Cahli and see the lights of a fortress ahead - the Castle of the Wode, held by Nerathi Rangers, good-hearted folk they say, though they have clashed with Greywolf raiders now and then.
Smon: Beyond the Castle the land rises up into the Midnight Goddess Hills, where you can find your home Clan.
chris107: H will avoid this.
Smon: Are you travelling through the night?
chris107: Trying to find safe passage or a safe place to sleep until first light.
chris107: Through the night if it's that close.
Smon: Are you skirting east or west of the castle?
chris107 rolls 1d6 and gets: 3,
chris107: East
Smon: You circuit east...
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 5,
Smon: As you approach the road that leads from the Castle of the Wode ne towards Sarene's Den & Seawolf territory, you see eight green-cloaked riders approaching on the trail, heading for the castle.
Smon: Make a stealth check (DEX + prof)
chris107: H tries to slip into cover if he hasn't been seen.
chris107 rolls 1d20+6 and gets: 7, (+6) = 13
Smon: DC 10
Smon: Hakeem crouches down, watches as they go past. The red-beard leader must be Tagoler, leader of the Rangers - http://th03.deviantart.net/fs70/PRE/f/2013/330/f/3/cronicas_human_ranger___by_caio_monteiro_by_caiomm-d6vpx1p.jpg
chris107: Mmmmm
chris107: I read about him earlier this week. But Hakeem didn't.
chris107: H stays hidden
Smon: They continue on towards the castle, and you hear a horn blow.
Smon: The Rangers disappear into the distant fortress, Hakeem slips over the road and on through the night...
chris107: H watches from a safe distance
Smon: make a CON check
chris107 rolls 1d20+9 and gets: 8, (+9) = 17

Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 2,
Smon: Hakeem's stamina keeps up as he enters the Midnight Goddess Hills, looking for sign of his clan.
Smon: Make a Survival check.
chris107: is that an extra +2?
Smon: yes
chris107 rolls 1d20+11 and gets: 7, (+11) = 18
Smon: it's net +3! http://smons.blogspot.co.uk/2015/03/5egh-chris-pc.html
chris107: oops
Smon: No sign of your clan, and it's now about 3am, you'll need to rest for the night or suffer Exhaustion.
chris107: rest
Smon: (also you 'force marched' so you'll need to take it easy tomorrow likewise)
Smon: Hakeem finds a sheltered dell to settle down in, hopefully undisturbed...
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 4,

Smon: The next morning he awakes and can resume the search for his clan.

Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 4,
Smon: It takes 4 days of searching the hills (15-18/3/4446) before Hakeem finds them, gathered towards the eastern range of the hills.
Smon: Dozens of tents, several hundred tribesmen, likely assembling to head east for the Clan Moot.
chris107:
chris107: H goes carfully
chris107: Making sure he is recognised
chris107: before looking for his Mum and chieften.
Smon: Hakeem spots a hunting party laden with deer returning to camp, led by Kaag Tiger-Killer, a huge brute and one of the Clan's strongest warriors - a man said to have an eye for Hakeem's mother...
chris107: mmmm
chris107: H waves
Smon: Kaag - https://scontent.cdninstagram.com/hphotos-xfp1/t51.2885-15/s320x320/e15/10724697_733303073464273_2033397063_n.jpg
chris107: H was adopted by the Sword Brothers. any esteem he held for his mum long gone.
Smon: Hakeem emerges from the trees and waves. Kaag stops, surprised, and laughs. "Ho there! Little Hakeem is returned!" (Kaag's an axeman not a sword cultist BTW)
Smon: "Did you have good killing in the Out-World?"
chris107: H shrugs. "Kaag."
chris107: "I done okay."
chris107: "Who leads our clan now?" he says respectfully
Smon: One of the men behind Kaag spots the dragon's head on Hakeem's back, and gasps, pointing. "By Bondor!"
chris107: H remains quiet.
Smon: The others stare. Kaag squints at the sight. "Old Vorkes still leads, but he's not long for this world... He'll appoint a new War-Chief at the Moot."
Smon: Kaag: "You brought that dragon head to stake your claim?"
chris107: H nods. "Thanks Kaag. I should pay my respects to Vorkes."
chris107: "My only interest is in the Brotherhood Kaag. I am a sworn servant of Bondorr."
Smon: Kaag nods as you approach the camp, watched by perimeter guards with longbows, and points out the Chief's large tent. "There. Now I have to go see a lady..." he hefts his deer, grinning.
Smon: "Good. I will be Chief soon. You will make good Sword Knight for Bondor."
chris107: "have fun." H grins back
Smon: Kaag nods and grins back, turning away.
chris107: H's ambitions run higher. For now
Smon: Hakeem reaches Vorkes' tent, the slave tending the fire pit pulls aside the flap so he can enter.
chris107: he jogs on towards Vorkes tent
chris107: H looks in
Smon: Inside it's dark. frail Old Vorkes is alone, lying on piled furs, his wife Kala - one of the Wise Women - nowhere to be seen.
chris107: "Chief. It's Hakeem. How does life find you?"
Smon: Vorkes brightens at the sight of Hakeem. "Ah! you have returned, Sword Brother! Come in! Tell me your news!" He props himself up, eyes bright.
chris107: H smiles.
Smon: Vorkes coughs. "Ach... I do not live long."
chris107: So pleased to see his old chief.
chris107: He spends time telling of his adventures without bragging
Smon: "I have lived too long... Sad I am not to die with Battle-Ax in hand."
chris107: "Come. We will hunt and die together."
Smon: Vorkes listens attentively for a long time to the many adventures. "Deeds worthy of a Sword of Bondorr!"
chris107: H is very pleased to be hear this.
chris107: "I shall make you and my clan proud."
chris107: "can you tell me of my father?"
Smon: "That Oriax is a foul one... But we have closer worries. Our spies tell us the Nerathi will soon march east from Hara - they say they seek the ruins of their lost City, on the coast south of Sarene's Den. But doubtless they mean to strike us too..."
chris107: H listens intently.
chris107: "My new friend worries about the Nerathi too. I am not so wise."
chris107: "I must make my offer to Bondorr at this Clan-Moot. Afterwards I shall make war upon the Nerathi."
Smon: Vorkes nods. His eyes look off into space. "Your father... It was many years ago. Happier times, when all we had to worry us was war with Feathered Bear Clan and Gnolls... the battle was high in the hills - that day we broke the Feathered Bear, sent them running back to their holes in the north... Your father killed eight men!"
chris107: "Are the Greywolves with me?"
chris107: Hakeen beams with pride!
Smon: Vorkes nods. "Aye. The Greywolves are ready to fight. But we need the Seawolves - and the Feathered Bear, too."
Smon: "There may be others, men of Red Tiger from the south, emissaries of the Western clans, if any still survive...."
chris107: That I shall see to. Who will be chief when you go?"
Smon: "Kaag Tiger-Killer is a strong warrior. But the Wise-Women will have the last word. It is the way, as you know."
chris107: "is my Mother's man worthy?"
Smon: "He is strong... and a good hunter. I do not know if he is wise."
chris107: H nods
chris107: "What will be...."
Smon: Vorkes coughs. "Kaag thinks he can fight Nerath. The Western clans thought that... they are gone."
8:04pm 2015-10-22 Smon Has exited the room
chris107: My chief. I need to do something for my clan.
chris107: quick glass then
8:04pm 2015-10-22 Smon Has entered the room
Smon: chris107: "What will be...." Smon: Vorkes coughs. "Kaag thinks he can fight Nerath. The Western clans thought that... they are gone." 8:04pm 2015-10-22 Smon Has exited the room chris107: My chief. I need to do something for my clan.
chris107: just pulling a cork. brb
chris107: back
chris107: "Our hills are claimed Demon haunted?"
chris107: "As a child I heard the word."
chris107: "As a man.... I have fought demons."
Smon: Vorkes nods. "The Midnight Goddess, In truth, a demon who steals the hearts of Men, and then their lives..."
chris107: "I wish to help my clan by fighting one of our foes."
Smon: "If you go alone into the high hills, you will find her."
Smon: "But I doubt you will return."
chris107: H thinks. Then nods.
Smon: OOC Angelina Jolie in Beowulf
chris107: "I will do this for my people. I will do this to prove my worth to Bondorr."
chris107: He says quietly
chris107: Great filem
chris107: He has decided his course.
chris107: His wife will raise their child to avaenge him if he fails.
chris107: "My chief, say nothing, I ask you."
chris107: "Until I return with the demon's head. Or do not return."
chris107: H shakes the old man's hand then goes to see his mum
Smon: Vorkes nods. "I cannot stop you... But the Clan will have need of your sword, Hakeem. Bondorr would not wish you to throw your life away against a Demon you cannot defeat."
chris107: y I can not defeat this demon?"
chris107: "I will listen to your words. I fear nothing but am growing in wisdom..."
Smon: "She is mighty - many great heroes have sought her - they say she keeps their corpses in an underground palace."
Smon: "Basilisks and fly-demons serve her, but her song is the greatest danger - and the sight of her naked form. I.."
Smon: Vorkes looks down.
chris107: Hakeem now knows this is what he must do.
Smon: "I glimpsed her once in the moonlight, from afar."
chris107: "You are a fine chief."
chris107: "Your wisdom guides me."
Smon: "She did not see me, but still my will turned to water. Only fear kept me from rushing to her embrace..."
chris107: "I will come back and slay this demon."
Smon: "One day, perhaps. When you carry the Sword of Bondor and her song cannot charm you."
chris107: "Un;less you think it will please Bondorr for me to slay her now?"
chris107: H is pleased to have the wise words of his clan-chief with him.
Smon: Vorkes shrugs. "Bondor wishes only that we fight well and die with honour."
chris107: He bows deeply and leaves. (after finding closer directions to the demon's lair.)
chris107: He goes to see his Mum
Smon: "In the bleakest part of the high hills, where the men slain by her basilisks stand forever guard..."
chris107: H is sorely tempted.
Smon: Eventually Hakeem bids Vorkes farewell and goes to his mother's tent; the smell of roasting deer greets him.
chris107: But he knows his fate is as a sword knight.
chris107: "Smells great Mum!"
Smon: Kaag's deer is roasting on the spit outside the tent, tended by his mother's ugly sister Nefeti. From inside the tent comes the sound of lovemaking.
Smon: Nefeti: "She is with Kaag."
Smon: OOC what's your mother's name?
chris107: H shrugs and hugs his auntie
Smon: Nefeti hugs him back. "You have grown! Strong you are!"
chris107: mmmmmm Gnubis
Smon: She looks hom up and down. "The South agrees with you I see!"
chris107: "Haha Auntie! Not strong enough!"
chris107: H tells his aunt of his great love Malenn and how they are to be blessed with a son!
chris107: (He hopes)
Smon: "You come back to smash Nerathi skulls? Oh? A son!" She beams happily. "Almost a daughter!" She flings purple dust onto the fire, it blazes up with eldritch flames.
chris107: How he intends to become a sword Knight (he shows her the dragon skull) and sweep the Nerathi away
Smon: Nefeti listens, distracted, looking into the dancing flames...
chris107: H hugs his mother.
Smon: /roll d100
Smon rolls 1d100 and gets: 34,
chris107: A fine son I hope.
Smon: "Yes. A son." she sighs.
Smon: "Oh well."
chris107: Hakeem is beside himself with joy!
Smon:
Smon: Altanian women have pstrange psychic ppowers.
chris107: "If I die. You must make sure he becomes a great hero auntie."
Smon: "That's a big dragin, ayup. Hero? Oh, that's Men's work... Speak of the devil!"
Smon: Kaag and Gnubis emerge from the tent, Hakeem hugs his mother.
chris107: "For now tell me if I should kill this demoness and her basilisks or go to the clanmoot with only a dragon head?"
Smon: Kaag yawns and stretches happily.
Smon: Gnubis: "You are telling his fortune, sister?"
chris107: "Kaag I hear you are to be chief? You have my backing for what it is worth."
Smon: Nefeti nods. This time she flings green dust on the fire, green flames dance. Gnubis: ""Ware you do not ruin the meat!"
chris107: "Mother, you will make a fine princess!2
Smon: Kaag nods to Hakeem, grins, places a heavy hand on his shoulder. "Good to hear. With the Sword Brothers we will crush the Nerathi!"
chris107: "Kaag, Mother, Auntie. I will offer my sword to Bondorr at the clan moot."
Smon: Gnubis smiles broadly at the thought of being Princess, combing her still-lustrous black hair.
Smon: Nefeti gazes into the flames.
Smon: /roll d100
Smon rolls 1d100 and gets: 74,
chris107: "What can I do for you and our clan?"
chris107: "I will need you."
Smon: Nefeti nods contentedly. "They will make you Sword Knight Hakeem, I think. The Pirate Woman Sarene will be there... she wants you. Her fleet is powerful..."
chris107: "In our war upon Nerathi and Oriax."
chris107: "Thank you Auntie. But I am married to Malenn. I stand by my vows."
Smon: Kaag looks at Hakeem, shrugs. "Fight! Gather the Sword Brothers of all the Clans.... Make love to Sarene and get us her warriors, ha! Just a joke."
chris107: "Our Son will become a great hero!"
Smon: OOC Did you want to return to Thusia before the Moot?
chris107: "I will take the fight to the world..... Uncle (?)"
chris107: ooc no
chris107: I wanted to slay my clans demonb but am unsure of that now.
chris107: H's goal has always been sword knight first
chris107: He will head for the Clan Moot and see what fate dictates
chris107: His record will stand or fail as Bondorr sees fit.
chris107: OOC, his mother's lover been clan chief will be helpful too.
Smon: GM: OK, 2 weeks later 3/4/446 the fully assembled Clan Greywolf heads north-east from the Hills, driving their livestock.
Smon: Scouts have reported that Nerathi forces are active along the rim of the Korm Basin, apparently seeking something.
chris107: H sharpens his wits and his sword in equal measure
8:36pm 2015-10-22 vondan Has entered the room
vondan: hey kids
chris107: Placing his victories in order
Smon: A few mutter tales of a place called The Lichway, where the ancient Sandlanders buried their dead...
chris107: Hi Dan
Smon: Hi V
chris107: Ooooo
vondan: just wanted to remind you that in the wilderlands
Roglaroon Macaroon, Roglaroon Macaroon
Nom them with your fingers not a spoon
Heal 2 to 8 when you swoon
Macaroon
chris107: H makes a note to visit this place and marks it on his map
chris107: Wilderlands
vondan: my pc'smpm was socroess and a cook
Smon: The Lichway of the Sandlanders is rumoured to lie somewhere in the cliffs on the rim of the Korm Basin.
chris107: H makes a note on his map
chris107: And wishes the clan moot was not so close.
vondan: ware are you in the wilderlands
chris107: But he has waited all hgis life for this moment.
chris107: Ghinarean Hills Dan
vondan: ware is that compaired to the city of the overlord
chris107: Have scouted past the Hall's of Tizun Thane and the Lichway on the Khorm Basin tonight
chris107: South
Smon: For two days you head east from the Midnight Goddess Hills at a sedate pace over the plain, until the Gathering Place comes in view; this year it is NW of Sarene's Den, the limits marked by ancient red dolmens 20' high.
chris107: H remembers his fight with Sarne.
chris107: With great affection. He was a boy then. if she had a mind she could have finished him.
Smon: You join the other assembling clans - Feathered Bear, your traditional enemies, from the north side of the Midnight Goddess Hills.
Smon: From the east, the hosts of Clan Seawolf.
chris107: H gives no quarter, nor does he try and pick fights
chris107: He greets his cousins the Seawolves with pride. Telling tales of eardvulf
Smon: From further afield have come emissaries of many other clans, to pay respects to the immense High Chief(ess) of all Altani, Beklomda Mor.
chris107: But always behaving with quiet decorum.#
vondan: Ah just like the trade fair noth of overlord city ware my swamp ranger traded aligater skins
chris107: H is amazed at the power of his peoplke.
chris107: He needs o bring them together to destroy the Nerathi.
chris107: He knows that with Bondorr's will, he will lead his people to victory. Not only over the Nerathi. But over the Ghinarean Hills too.
Smon: Red Tiger from the south, legendary warriors. From the west, battle-scarred survivors of the fierce Tigerclaw and noble Mountain Lion - men who still stand against the terrible power of Nerath. Among these last is a strange warrior - no man, but formed entirely of steel and other strange materials.
chris107: he may flex a little too at the thought
chris107: H is amazed at this sight and goes to look closer
8:47pm 2015-10-22 combatmedic Has entered the room
chris107: He will schmooze the other clan leaders of course. H hates the nerathi with a will!¬
Smon: Beklomda Morr is greeting the Mountain Lion emissaries as you arrive, from high atop her raised throne - a mound of beef & chicken bones scattered at its feet.
chris107: Hi CM
combatmedic: (Hi, lurking)
chris107: H takes his time.
chris107: He waits for the rest to be done.
chris107: Then casually walks over,
Smon: Beklomda: "*chomp* Greetings, Prince Rameses, leader of Mountain Lion. Greetings, Boulder of the Warforged. You are *chomp* most welcome!"
8:48pm 2015-10-22 combatmedic Has exited the room
chris107: Mighty Queen.
chris107: He slings the dragons head upon her mound of treasures.
Smon: After that, Beklomda welcomes Vorkes & the Greywolf. Hakeem bides his time until he can speak.
Smon: There are gasps from the crowd as the red dragon head is flung onto the mound of offerings.
chris107: And retires for a pint
Smon: Beklomda grins, chicken fat running down her immense jowls.
chris107: saying nothing
chris107: H knows how to play it cool
Smon: There is a smattering of applause as Hakeem heads for the beer tent.
chris107: He chats small talk with his chums
chris107:
chris107: Awaiting a summons
Smon: ooc want to finish at 10pm, shoulder getting sore.
chris107: No prob. Thanks for sticking it out just for one Simon
Smon: The greetings of chiefs and nobles goes on long into the evening, but then after nightfall comes other business, and Hakeem is summoned forth...
chris107: H stays sober for the evening
Smon: OOC suggest we do next bit at the start tomorrow, you might have an audience?
chris107: And when the time is right , stories in mind, he steps forth.
chris107: Sure
chris107: Thanks for a great game simon
chris107: Hakeem is really becoming 3D
Smon:
Smon: Dunno if you'd beat the Midnight Goddess, guess it depends on how lucky you roll!
chris107: It's just so tempting (because of his character) to bite off more than he can chew.
Smon: She's not just a regular Succubus, anyway!
chris107: H will wait until he becomes Sword Knight (if his plans go right)
chris107: Then will do war upon a worthy foe.
chris107: Yusan, the Midnight Goddess, The armies of Nerath or his hated foe Oriax.
chris107: he is 100% driven to protect his son.
Smon: Loads of things to kill.
chris107:
chris107: And OOC how cool will it be to play Hakeem's son one day?!
Smon: Heh
chris107: That's why he's got to survive untill 12th level at least.
chris107: 20Str & Cons
chris107: replacement characters start at 11th? :0
Smon: If several PCs get to 11-12 then start tier goes to 11 yup
Smon: Otherwise half current XP
chris107: OOC. Really feel that H and family can make a mark on this campaign
Smon: Good luck
Smon: You did well winning Kaag round I thought.
chris107: Thanks
chris107: H is a bit thick#
chris107: but knows he needs to win his own and other tribes to the cause
chris107: His own father died before he was born
chris107: so all power to Mrs. H for getting it on with a possible tribal leade
Smon: Kaag is a bit like Varek Tigerclaw, the star PC in my last Nerath vs Altanians game, bit overconfident...
chris107: Ah yes
chris107: The Ghoul Bridge man ?
Smon: Yeah
Smon: I'm sure he makes a fine zombie for Nerath.
chris107: It's a real buzz to see one's character mentioned by name in the blog.
chris107: #Immortality
Smon: heh
chris107: Hakeem will avenge Varek
chris107: And bring the neo-Narethi empire fall.
chris107: Kill Oriax
Smon: Do what my tabletop group abjectly failed to.
chris107: and (unfortunatly) Yusan
chris107: In H's profile
chris107: Indominatable is mentioned
chris107: He will grow into a Conan figure or die trying
Smon: Good luck!
chris107: At 20th level.
chris107: He should be
chris107: 24 Str, 24 Con and 18 Dex :)_
Smon: Bondor seems to favour him so far, anyway. Several times I thought you'd had it, esp that wight early on in Thracia.
chris107: With 250HP!
Smon: !!!!
Smon: 500 damage to kill.
chris107: Yeah that Wight, the dragon and a few more have come close
Smon: Yup, dragon was v close too.
chris107: But you know from past campaigns
Smon: Breath recharge & failed DEX savel
chris107: I do like my Heroes
chris107: Live fast and famous or die trying.
Smon: Yeah - I was just saying recently, I think 5e supports your playstyle better than older eds. You can be heroic w a chance to not die!
chris107: hehe
vondan: I thought you guys were waiting to start or ending a game did no one else show up
chris107: I spent the last 35 years playing a survivalist wizard
Smon: 35 years is a long time.
chris107: That's why I like my PC's now to be heroes.
Smon: Graham never showed, yup.
chris107: Yeah 35 years and now 19th level
Smon: I was 7 when you started.
vondan: was this the wilderlands game or just using the room
chris107: Lets hope he does tomorrow?
chris107: I started in '76
chris107: Played my wizard since '81
Smon: Wilderlands, Barbarian Altanis yup.
vondan: my PC was a swamp ranger from Moonraker more
chris107: I think only Moffet has been more fun to play in any of my online games than Hakeem
Smon: I'm going to sign off soon & see if I can update the campaign page with Greywolf stuff.
chris107:
Smon: Moffet - could still be out there, battling the Red Reavers...
vondan: is there a middle eastern flavor area form wence came Hakeem
chris107: Thanks for the game. Catch you tomorrow
chris107: Moffet
