8:26am  2015-4-25 Smon Has entered the room
8:29am  2015-4-25 chris107 Has entered the room
Smon: Morning Chris.
Smon: Family are off for the weekend, so peaceful here.
8:30am  2015-4-25 chris107 Has exited the room
Smon: ...
8:33am  2015-4-25 chris107 Has entered the room
chris107: I think I disappeared?
Smon: yup
chris107: Ah yes. The Under 8's Rugger tour
Smon: Only tool £40 out my wallet this morning too, though the request was £50
chris107: Hehe that's a small price to pay!
Smon: I'm guessing Kjato is afk right now.
8:36am  2015-4-25 Kjato Ragfoot Has entered the room
chris107: He went to make coffee about 10 mins ago
Kjato Ragfoot: Hello!
chris107: said he would be playing.
chris107: Kjato
Smon: Hi K  Hakeem & Malenn need Bjornalf or Rey to lead them to the first unexplored bit of the Ulther crypts.
Kjato Ragfoot: Was a bit clumsy with the coffee machine today, that is why it took a little longer.
chris107: Happy to do so
Kjato Ragfoot: Bjornalf does not mind leading them to Ulthers crypt. He longs to try this newfound powers of his.
Smon: I think I'll just nuke mine, it's a bit cold - BRB. Meanwhile your PCs left Selatine at dawn & are approaching the ruins of the Shrine of Ulther on the cliffs overlooking the Selatine Plain...
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 55,
chris107: What you choose Kjato?
Smon: Sadly for Hakeem it is a sunny day with some clouds, no lightning!
Kjato Ragfoot: The armour spell.
Smon: brb
Kjato Ragfoot: Basically, that permanently raises my AC to 15.
chris107: Very nice
chris107: (Hakeem is saving the lightning for his next attempt at twins  )
Smon: Bjornalf still has Inspiration, Hakeem spent his last night w Malenn.  Talking of which I've not given Rey Inspiration yet - can't give it every time he has sex or he'd never be de-Inspired... Maybe for a particularly outrageous seduction?
chris107: hehe
Kjato Ragfoot: Definitely. If he beds that other pirate queen while his and their men fight a bloody battle or something like that.
Smon: I'll take player suggestions, anyway - suggest you can only recommend Inspiration for someone else's PC, not your own.
Smon:
Kjato Ragfoot: Or if he solves an encounter by seducing a sucubus.
chris107: Good plan Kjato
Smon: Talking of which, despite the celebrations yesterday there is an undercurrent of apprehension in Lord Vex's Hall - he breached the Code of Hospitality by betraying Tsamar's pirates, letting the Ralluans slaughter them. Sarene was Tsamar's rival but she is unlikely to forget or forgive... There is likely to be trouble with Ahyf too, they've just lost a big source of income, slaves & loot.
chris107: Bring 'em on!
chris107: Growls hakeem.
Kjato Ragfoot: Well. They are about to forge an alliance between Rallun an Selantine with the marriage on the horizon, aren't they?
Kjato Ragfoot: I'd say, we should conquer Ahyf as our next step.
Kjato Ragfoot: We have three reckless heroes, a ship and a combined wisdom modifier of about -3 or so. What is going to stop us?
chris107: Hakeem is happy to go a Viking
Kjato Ragfoot: Hej Ho! Hej Ho! Sea raiding we go!
Smon: Eldam is not representing the mighty King of Rallu per se, but he does represent House Aldamar, who are quite powerful and wealthy in their own right, able to hire 50 mercenaries and one of Rallu's greatest Magi for their little punitive expedition.
chris107: Or happy to go rob an ancient tomb full of gold too.
Kjato Ragfoot: Then lets go!
chris107: Tomb Raider or Viking then Kjato?
chris107: I'm easy
Kjato Ragfoot: Tomb raider for now.
Kjato Ragfoot: I lack the money to equip my ship.
chris107: Then let's go get some.
Kjato Ragfoot: Ulther, here we come!
Smon: Conquering Ahyf is not totally beyond the bounds of possibility, yup - especially if the other local Ghinoran lords would come alongside, although you could try a lightning assault with just what you have in Selatine. Ahyf has a bit under 2,000 population - mobilised that is 500 combatants, but considerably less standing military.
8:51am  2015-4-25 Amalric Has entered the room
Smon: Getting the ducks in a row to attack Ahyf would require negotiations with NPCs (I suppose you *could* assault the town on your own...) so the Crypts look best for right now.
chris107: Hi Graham
Smon: Hi G, good timing!
Amalric: morning! bit lazy today
Smon: >>Conquering Ahyf is not totally beyond the bounds of possibility, yup - especially if the other local Ghinoran lords would come alongside, although you could try a lightning assault with just what you have in Selatine. Ahyf has a bit under 2,000 population - mobilised that is 500 combatants, but considerably less standing military.<<
Amalric: went to bed late and as a consequence only got up 5 mins ago
Smon: >>Talking of which, despite the celebrations yesterday there is an undercurrent of apprehension in Lord Vex's Hall - he breached the Code of Hospitality by betraying Tsamar's pirates, letting the Ralluans slaughter them. Sarene was Tsamar's rival but she is unlikely to forget or forgive... There is likely to be trouble with Ahyf too, they've just lost a big source of income, slaves & loot.<<
Kjato Ragfoot: Well. First of all, we need to get on friendly terms with Osirax. We should introduce him and Rei, they probably share the same hobby - collecting busty females. XD
Amalric: wow
Amalric: someone will have to fill that income void. an enterprising fellow, perhaps...
Smon: LOL  Rey is a lot more charming! Anyway right now it is a lovely sunny day just before noon as you climb the short cliff path up to the ruins of Ulther's Crypt...
chris107: Flex-flex
Kjato Ragfoot: I would suggest we simply re-direct that income into our pockets.
Smon: (Meanwhile Selatine has been flourishing with all the cash you adventurers have been bringing in)
Kjato Ragfoot: After redirecting the treasure of Ulther's Crypt into our pockets.
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 22,
chris107:
Amalric: we aim to please (ourselves, but w/e)
Smon: The ruins are deserted as usual, you take the spiral stair down to level 1, go east, take the second spiral stair down to level 2.
Kjato Ragfoot: That is where we left the goblins, right?
Smon: This area is new to Hakeem & Malenn. Yup.
chris107: yes
Kjato Ragfoot: Let's see how our goblin allies fared during our absence. Maybe we can hire one of them as torch bearer.
Smon: On level 2 a tunnel goes east, ending in a now-empty guardroom, the goblins you left there have abandoned it. Midway along the w-e tunnel the side passage goes south to an e-w T junction.
Smon: (if you'd paid them as promised they might have stuck around)
Amalric: lets see if Rey can persuade Hakeem and Malenn to massacre them
Smon: From this second junction, e goes to the fire beetle farm chamber, w to Guardroom #3.
chris107: Hakeem needs no persuasion to slaughter.
Smon: From guardroom #3 a tunnel goes south to the halls of Hobgoblin Captain Kasgor, cleared by Rey & Bjornalf & Kogor, a second tunnel goes west into unfamiliar territory. You go west?
Amalric: yes
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 22,
Kjato Ragfoot: Let's see whether those goblins moved into their old quarters, if not, go west.
chris107: Rey checking for traps, fighters behind, wiz at the back?
chris107: or Rey, Hak Bjo then Malenn at the rear?
Kjato Ragfoot: Sounds good.
Kjato Ragfoot: Rey, Hak, Bjo, Malenn
Smon: Bjornalf makes a quick check of the south halls - no sign of life. You go west, Malenn at the rear (50% chance wandering monsters come from rear, so good idea)
chris107: (So Hakeem does have the odd idea)
Smon: The west passage comes to a T junction after a short distance. A tunnel runs north into the gloom; it runs south 10' ending at a door scrawled with red paint: "KEEP OUT!!"
Smon: roll d20+4
Smon: /roll d20+4
Amalric rolls 1d20+4 and gets: 1010, (+4) = 14
Smon rolls 1d20+4 and gets: 33, (+4) = 7
Smon: sorry that was for the die roller
Smon: Your light source is Rey's magic dagger
Smon: ?
Smon: My /? key is sticky.
chris107: Sounds good to me.
Amalric: yes
Smon: There is a faint glow of firelight from under the door.
Smon: Malenn: "North, or try the door? Looks like someone's home."
Amalric: door
Kjato Ragfoot: If someones at home, we should be polite and knock.
Amalric: it in?
chris107: Rey want to sneak north make sure we won't get any horrid surpreses?
chris107: Hakeem is happy to do the kicking. And the hacking etc.
Smon: The north tunnel runs 45' until it ends. Just before it ends a side tunnel leads west, with a 5' deep alcove at the end of the n tunnel.
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 22,
Smon: All seems quiet.
Smon: You are standing around in the n-s tunnel right now.
Kjato Ragfoot: What do we hear from the lit room?
Smon: /roll d20
Smon rolls 1d20 and gets: 66,
Smon: There is the faint crackle of burning wood, a fire.
chris107: Hakeem will kick the door in sword in hand
Smon: ok str roll, d20+7
Smon: +6
Kjato Ragfoot: Wouldn't it be easier to simply open it?
chris107 rolls 1d20+7 and gets: 22, (+7) = 9
Smon: Hakeem bounces off the barred door.
chris107:
chris107: Hakeem likes to kick things
Smon: A voice from behind the door yells: "Go away! I got flamin' oil ye buggers!"
Amalric: Rey looks for a lock
Smon: It sounds like a goblin, but rougher & deeper than most.
Smon: There is an old lock.
Smon: /roll d20+4
Smon rolls 1d20+4 and gets: 1010, (+4) = 14
chris107: Rey?
Smon: It doesn't seem to be locked though - the door has been barred from the far side.
Kjato Ragfoot: Flaming Oil! That is excellent, we are oil merchants and always looking to find new sources of flaming oil!
Kjato Ragfoot: Would you be willing to trade?
Smon: GM: You can use a Suggestion spell I reckon as long the target can hear you, BTW
chris107: Hakeem doesn't fancy having burning oil chucked at him.
Amalric: any way to lift the bar from here?
Amalric: "We only wish to talk, we mean no malice."
Kjato Ragfoot: No, it is line of sight.
Smon: Rey checks the door over...
Smon: /roll d20+4
Smon rolls 1d20+4 and gets: 1515, (+4) = 19
chris107: Hak and Mal keep watch to the North.
Smon: Yes, he can slide a steel wafer in to the off-hinge side of the door, move it up, should lift off any bar if it's not nailed shut or closed-loop.
Kjato Ragfoot: Well, I could turn Hakeem into a gaseous cloud, allowing him to enter the room through the small cracks that let the firelight through.
Kjato Ragfoot: And he can bash up whoever is behind, before opening the door.
chris107: Okay
Smon: GM: actions?
chris107: Will his eqipment go gaseous too?
Kjato Ragfoot: Yes. You and all your equipment goes gaseous, till I drop the spell.
chris107: Cool, send a gassy Hakeem through then
Kjato Ragfoot: Sure thing. Just remember I cannot get your back once I de-gassed you and we cannot communicate after I gassed you.
Amalric: Rey does just that
Smon: Ret flips the door open while the others are talking.
chris107: okay quick gassy spurt then cancel the spell once it's all gone through..
Amalric: after Hakeem goes through
chris107: Oh okay
chris107: Maybe we just kick Rey in through the open door?
Smon: Inside in the firelight you see a comfortably furnished chamber, a rabbit roasting over an open fire; the room is smoky.
chris107: Is this the gassy Hak?
Kjato Ragfoot: Well, Hakeem can now simply kick in whoever owns that room.
Smon: A grizzled old goblin in fine Halfling leather armour flings his Readied flasks of flaming oil at you...
Smon: 4 in 6 at Rey...
Smon: /roll 1d6x2
Smon Rolls 1d6x2 and gets:
22 = 2
44 = 4
Smon: /roll 1d20+4x2
Smon Rolls 1d20+4x2 and gets:
11 (+4) = 15
13 (+4) = 17
Smon: The distilled spirit hits Rey and the fragile flasks shatter, he catches fire - 10 fire dmg & on fire.
Smon: BTW Rey we need to roll your new hp?
chris107: That's not going to be pretty
Smon: your goes, Rey first
Kjato Ragfoot: Well, we should kill that guy before he lobs more oil.
chris107: Hakeem hacks the old codger to death for burning up his chum.
Smon: Rey could stop drop & roll while Hakeem charges in?
Smon: OK, Hakeem bursts in, swinging sword - you can Rage this round if desired, or not.
Smon: 2 attacks for H
chris107 Rolls 1d20+5x2 and gets:
9 (+5) = 14
17 (+5) = 22
Smon: AC 17, 1 hit
chris107 rolls 2d6+3 and gets: 33, 55, (+3) = 11
Smon: Wounded, still up.
Amalric: sorry just got a cuppa
Smon: Bjornalf, you can attack
chris107: You're on fire Graham!
Smon: Rey is on fire....
Amalric: new hp, 1d8+2?
Smon: yup
Kjato Ragfoot: Poison Spray on the goblin.
Amalric rolls 1d8+2 and gets: 44, (+2) = 6
Amalric: not bad
Kjato Ragfoot: (he needs to save with CON)
Smon: ok Rey +6 hp; you just took 10 from catching fire
Amalric: and hits rolls
Amalric rolls 2d20 and gets: 1616, 1313, = 29
Amalric: rapier, dagger as always
Amalric rolls 1d8+4 and gets: 22, (+4) = 6
Smon: Rey charges in still on fire, 35/45
Amalric rolls 2d6 and gets: 11, 33, = 4
Smon: AC 17 so 2 hits
Smon: 3d6 sneak now
Amalric rolls 1d4+4 and gets: 44, (+4) = 8
Amalric rolls 1d6 and gets: 33,
Smon: dagger is d4+1
Smon: no DEX bonus off-hand to dmg
Amalric: take off 3
Smon: By my reckoning you do 6+4+5+another d6, and it had 10 left after Hakeem hit it, it dies.
Smon: Rey takes another 10 fire damage, at 25/45.... *oww*
chris107: Hakeem tries to put out the flames on Rey with his wolf skin cloak
chris107: Beating him with it
Smon: Hakeem leaps on the flaming Rogue, smothering him with wolfskin cloak...
chris107: And rolling him about on the floor
Smon: Assuming Rey does not resist, the flames go out.
Amalric: he does not
Kjato Ragfoot: Bjornalf will detect magic in the room while the two fight the fire.
Amalric: hard to when some hulk leaps on you!
chris107:
Smon: Bjornalf detects magic from the grizzled old goblin's halfling-sized leather armour.
chris107: "Aww look at your lovely hair all burned off!" Grins Hakeem
chris107:
Smon: He was also wearing a black pearl necklace very like the one Rey found in Lady Aeschela's boudoir (before play started) - v 800gp
Amalric: "It'll be fine, the girls can rub some oil into it for a few hours..."
chris107: Phew!
Amalric: identical, or similar?
Kjato Ragfoot: Hmm. That armous is magical.
Smon: They are not the exact same pearls.
chris107: Hak scoffs at armour.
Amalric: Dick could have used that, Chris
Smon: The armour would fit a small child, halfling, or goblin.
Amalric: nice though
chris107: Dick could have. Along with the sword he rescued
Kjato Ragfoot: Well. We can sell it to some rich parent who is afraid for the life of their child?
Amalric: LOL nice idea!
chris107:
Kjato Ragfoot: Let's lot the play, help us to roasted rabbit and then continue exploring.
chris107: Yeah a rest to eat some rabbit would be good.
Smon: Taking a short rest for rabbit lunch? Rey could then tend his wounds (spend healing dice)
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 33,
Amalric: yes please!
Kjato Ragfoot: Is there anything else lootworthy in the room beside the pearls and the armour?
chris107: Any more doors in this chamber?
Amalric: secret doors?
Smon: OK you eat lunch, yum. No obvious doors from this chamber, which is square but with a cut-off s-w corner, room 20' across.
Smon: /roll d20+4
Smon rolls 1d20+4 and gets: 33, (+4) = 7
Smon: No sign of secret doors.
Smon: There is a distilling apparatus at the back of the chamber where the goblin has been turning regular oil into deadly flaming Dungeon Oil (TM).
Smon: /roll 3d6
chris107: can hak look too
Smon rolls 3d6 and gets: 33, 11, 11, = 5
Kjato Ragfoot: Hmm. Can we take that apparatus with us?
Smon: There are 5 more flasks of the distilled stuff, with rags for stoppers - light & throw, petrol bombs.
chris107: "Bah! Why set your foes on fire when you can chop them to bits with a sword?"
Amalric: can we collect some oil? Is there a reservoir? bottles?
Amalric: oh
Amalric:
Amalric: we'll need to light torches for that
chris107: Hakeem wants none of this nasty stuff.
Amalric: Kjato? 2 for me, 3 for you?
Kjato Ragfoot: Sure!
Smon: You would need to dissamble the copper still, 2 people could carry it (burdened) when taken apart. There is a covered tub of foul smelling stinky tar, and another tub of undistilled oil.
Amalric: we can get these on the way back
Smon: /roll 1d100
Smon rolls 1d100 and gets: 797979,
Kjato Ragfoot: Hmm. A pity the goblin was not willing to trade with us. We could have built an oil distilling empire.
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 22,
Smon: You finish your lunch break, Rey you can spend healing dice as desired, you have 5 currently, d8+2 each.
Smon: 20 hp down
Amalric rolls 1d8+2 and gets: 11, (+2) = 3
Amalric: ugh
Amalric rolls 1d8+2 and gets: 66, (+2) = 8
Amalric: stick? or twist for one more, still 9hp down
Kjato Ragfoot: I'd go for one more.
Amalric rolls 1d8+2 and gets: 88, (+2) = 10
Smon: Might be your only short rest today; and Malenn can Lay Hands on you in emergencies.
chris107:
Smon: Back to full, 2 hd left.
Amalric: good idea  what a hearty lunch!
Smon: Looks like the only way to go from here is the north tunnel that turns west.
chris107: That sounds like the place to go then
Kjato Ragfoot: Let's investigate the alcove in the north first.
Amalric: Rey leads the way
Smon: After lunch you head north, reach the alcove. Rey checks it out.
chris107: Same order as before.
Smon: /roll d20+4
Smon rolls 1d20+4 and gets: 1212, (+4) = 16
Smon: No sign of any secret doors, discoloration etc.
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 66,
Smon: /roll 1d2
Smon rolls 1d2 and gets: 1
Smon: While Rey is searching the alcove...
Smon: /roll 1d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 55,
Smon: Bjornalf can hold Rey's dagger to give light, Malenn guards the rear...
Smon: /roll d20+4
Smon rolls 1d20+4 and gets: 99, (+4) = 13
Smon: Malenn shouts a warning: "Company!"
Smon: Guttural yells come from down the western tunnel.
Smon: Rey can grab his dagger back from Hakeem.
chris107: Hakeem snarls and attacks
Amalric: or from Bjornalf?
Smon: Approaching from the west are three massive Hobgoblin warriors in the same half-plate armour as Kasgor, who felled Bjornalf you might recall.
chris107: With his sword he's cross at been snuck up on and rages.
chris107: Bjo had the dagger
Smon: These guys if anything look even bigger and nastier, wielding Altanian greatswords...
chris107: Rages then will Berserk!
Smon: or Bjornalf
chris107:
Smon: No surprise either side, so roll init
Smon: (BTW these guys look serious)
chris107 rolls 1d20+2 and gets: 2020, (+2) = 22
Smon: /roll d20+2
Smon rolls 1d20+2 and gets: 1313, (+2) = 15
Smon: Malenn:
Smon: /roll d20+2
Smon rolls 1d20+2 and gets: 88, (+2) = 10
Smon: Anyone else want to roll init?
Kjato Ragfoot: Of course.
Amalric rolls 1d20+3 and gets: 55, (+3) = 8
Kjato Ragfoot rolls 1d20+2 and gets: 1010, (+2) = 12
Amalric: no
9:53am  2015-4-25 atherton Has entered the room
chris107: Athers
atherton: greetings all
Amalric: is it proficiency bonus for init, or DEX bonus?
Amalric: howdy!
chris107: Hakeem hacks at one
Smon: no prof bonus to init, just base DEX
chris107 Rolls 1d20+6x2 and gets:
5 (+6) = 11
15 (+6) = 21
Smon: Hakeem Rages and races down the corridor at the closing Hobgoblin knights...
Smon: AC 17, 1 hit
Amalric: +4 for Rey then, FWIW, so 9
Smon: they got 15
chris107 rolls 2d6+5 and gets: 55, 55, (+5) = 15
Amalric: they size M or L?
Smon: Nice, but it's still up.
Amalric: or does that even come into it now?!
Smon: They are M, about 6'4"
chris107: "Grrrr!"
Smon: L starts at 8'+
Amalric: nod
Smon: The hobgoblins attack Hakeem like a well-oiled machine...
chris107: All of them?
chris107:
Amalric: Rey is the well-oiled machine...
Smon: Yep
Smon: /roll d20+6x6
Kjato Ragfoot: Well, you stormed ahead. They need to get through you to attack us.
Smon Rolls 1d20+6x6 and gets:

8 (+6) = 14
chris107: A/C 16
Smon: AC 16, 2 hits
chris107: (If it's wide enough for 3 huge hobgobs you could come along!
Smon: 10' wide passage, 2 of Rey's allies can attack the unwounded hobgob to his left, assuming he's still up...
Amalric: we will, after they dice you
Smon: /roll 5d6+2
Smon rolls 5d6+2 and gets: 22, 22, 66, 11, 22, (+2) = 15
Amalric: they did have init after all
Smon: /roll 5d6+2
Smon rolls 5d6+2 and gets: 44, 22, 22, 66, 11, (+2) = 17
Smon: 7 & 8 dmg
chris107: 45/60HP
Amalric: Rey joins the fray
Smon: Rey and Malenn can close in & attack an unwounded hobgoblin knight while Bjornalf spellcasts.
Smon: Malenn:
Smon: /roll d20+5x2
Smon Rolls 1d20+5x2 and gets:
20 (+5) = 25
14 (+5) = 19
chris107: Yeah!

Smon: crit so x2 dice = 5d8
chris107:

Smon: /roll 3d8+4
Smon rolls 3d8+4 and gets: 88, 66, 33, (+4) = 21
Smon: "Get away from him!" she yells.
Smon: It's wounded but still up.
chris107: "That's ma' girl!"
Smon: Rey can attack it...
Amalric rolls 2d20 and gets: 11, 11, = 2
chris107: Oops
Amalric: oh wow, snake eyes
Smon: lol
Smon: hm, make a DC 10 DEX save or drop a weapon
Amalric: Rey trips over his own feet in shock at Malenn's brilliance
Amalric rolls 1d20 and gets: 33,
Amalric: being on fire was the only time Rey was on fire today
Smon: Rey trips over himself goofily... but now has +7 on DEX saves, just manages to not lose his rapier!
Smon: Bjornalf, you see the battle rage ahead of you in the corridor, you casting?
Kjato Ragfoot: Sure. One Sleep spell on the hobgoblins, cast on level 3. That makes 9d8 affected hit points.
Kjato Ragfoot rolls 9d8 and gets: 88, 88, 77, 11, 77, 77, 22, 66, 22, = 48
Smon: The melee is too confused, Hakeem is in the area...
chris107: nice rolls Kjato!
Smon: However he also has the most hp left. The hobs had 24 & 18 left so they go down (42 total), 6 pts left over - Hakeem yawns.
Smon: You win.
chris107: Hakeem doesn't need to berserk then?
Amalric: "Nice work, my friends!" says Rey, moving swiftly on from his pratfall
chris107: Just lop heads?
Smon: Malenn wipes her blade on the dead hobgob.
Smon: yup
Smon: brb, food break
Kjato Ragfoot: Kill and loot.
chris107: "Good work friends!"
chris107: Mmmm sandwich here then
Kjato Ragfoot: Food sounds like a good idea.
chris107: Graham, I swapped to an Elf Fighter by the way
Amalric: pee break here
Amalric: didnt we have this discussion last night?
Amalric: are you just confirming?
Amalric: nice move
Smon: The hobgoblin knights had Ghinoran bronze half plate, Altanian greatswords, 3 javelins each.
Smon: /roll 9d6
Smon rolls 9d6 and gets: 11, 33, 44, 66, 11, 66, 33, 55, 66, = 35
Smon: 35gp on them.
chris107: Plate sounds like it could be worth a few bob
Smon: yup
Smon: sells for 375gp a go in Selatine.
chris107: Yeah!
chris107: And the great swords?
Smon: Greatsword sale value is 25gp, Altanians might pay double.
Smon: Really Hakeem should collect them & keep them safe.
chris107:
chris107: Or make a big throne out of 'em
Smon: They'd look nice in a shrine to Bondor... no pressure.
chris107: Yeah Hakeem will take 'em and forge a shrine to Bondor
Amalric: Hakeem of the Four Swords
chris107: OOC we got a good haul here chaps.
Kjato Ragfoot: Are merfolk buying bronze armour as well?
Smon: (no)
chris107: Should we get it back to town, see what we can do with the still and cash in our chips?
Amalric: we need more, lets carry on
Smon: Malenn: "Do you need healing, Hakeem?"
chris107: "Yes please Malenn."
Amalric: any excuse to rub him!
Smon: 15 pts?
Kjato Ragfoot: Let's put the treasure into the living room and carry on, then.
chris107: 15pts
Smon: ok, she heals Hakeem to full hp. She has 10 pts healing left.
chris107: "Thank you maalenn." He says simply.
Smon: The tunnel the hobs came down runs w 60' then turns south, opening into the nw corner of a great hall after 10'.
Smon: The hall is roughly triangular, narrowing towards the east side.
Amalric rolls 1d20+1 and gets: 1717, (+1) = 18
Amalric rolls 1d8+1 and gets: 33, (+1) = 4
Amalric: that was for Emetix's game, don't mind me
Smon: It's 60' e-w, 50' n-s at the w end, narrowing to 10' at the e end.
chris107: Got it.
chris107: Any exits?
Smon: Two lines of tall pillars run e-w, they are covered in 8" long bone spikes on which have been impaled the mostly mummified corpses of many dead goblins.
Smon: Between the pillars towards the e end of the great hall you see a broad 10' wide flight of stone steps lead downwards.
Amalric: "Someone did some nice work here."
chris107: Nice
Smon: The goblins look to have been ritually impaled post-mortem.
Smon: A few higher up look quite fresh, the goblins Rey & Bjornalf killed last time round.
chris107: Hakeem goes and has a sniff around the rest of the room. danger senses alert.
Smon: /roll d20+2
Smon rolls 1d20+2 and gets: 99, (+2) = 11
Smon: Hakeem checks around the room; no sign of life. There is a very faint aroma from the stairs, spicy/sweet.
Smon: /roll d20+4
Smon rolls 1d20+4 and gets: 22, (+4) = 6
Smon: Hakeem doesn't recognise it.
chris107: (Gulp I think Chris does)
Kjato Ragfoot: Any magic in this room?
Smon: No magic.
chris107: He says a prayer to Bondor
Amalric: Malenn doesn't have any detect evil ability, does she?
Smon: /roll d20+3
Smon rolls 1d20+3 and gets: 33, (+3) = 6
Smon: She can detect Holy/Unholy type stuff, yes.
Smon: 4/day
chris107: And starts slowly down the steps, sword in hand.
Smon: Divine Sense: 4/day she can focus - as an Action - & detect supernatural celestial, fiend or undead within 60', but not mortal alignment. Can detect consecrated or desecrated ground.
Smon: Hakeem starts down the steps, Malenn following.
Smon: In the light from Rey's dagger above you see the stairs run down 30', opening out into what is clearly a catacomb/ossuary.
Kjato Ragfoot: Bjornalf will follow
chris107: (I'll try play this in character but if it is what I think it is, this could be a dead hakeem )
Smon: The stairs come out into the w wall of a n-s tunnel lined with alcoves full of ancient bones, you are 20' or so from the s end, 40' or so from n end.
Kjato Ragfoot: Do not charge ahead recklessly. Let me cast a spell on enemies before attacking
chris107: Hakeem has his sword at the ready
Smon: At the s end the tunnel runs east, still full of ossuary alcoves.
chris107: North first
Amalric: lets have Malenn detect something first, shall we?
Smon: The bone piles nearest the stairs have clearly been rummaged through, bones are scattered on the floor.
chris107: A good idea
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 55,
Smon: Malenn focuses. "These crypts were holy to Mitra once, but the consecration has faded... they need to be reconsecrated.
Smon: "Otherwise, evil spirits could enter the ancient dead..."
chris107: Hakeem breathes again
chris107: "Is this a ceremony you or Lady Vex could do?"
Smon: "I don't detect Evil close by." She nods to Hakeem. "I was only a novice at Mitra's Shieldhall long ago - I fear I would make a mistake. Lady Vex would be best."
chris107: Explore further or get our stuff back and get LV to do the ritual?
Smon: You reach the north end of the ossuary tunnel. The bones here are still undisturbed.
chris107: Then press on?
Amalric: further!
Kjato Ragfoot: The bones to the south are disturbed, the ones to the south are not?
chris107: "Best leave 'em if they are sacred to Mitra."
Smon: Yes, the bones within 20' of the stairs have been disturbed, from the s end of the tunnel north, but not the northern 20' or so.
Smon: (Goblins were still looting for Kasgor when Rey & Bjornalf hit them)
chris107: Then South and East?
Smon: Malenn nods.
Smon: Hakeem & Malenn head south in front, Rey/Bjornalf behind.
chris107: Sword drawn
Smon: You reach the east tunnel, it runs as far as you can see, looks like a side tunnel s after 30' or so. The bones here are mostly undisturbed.
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 22,
Smon: all quiet.
chris107: side tunnel n or s?
Smon: Proceeding east you reach the side passage.
Smon: It runs s beyond limit of your light. The e tunnel continues nearly 40' then turns n.
chris107: South?
chris107: down the first side passage?
Kjato Ragfoot: East. I assume the path will return to the entrance.
Amalric: yes
chris107: We are a good few feet lower than the entrance I think?
chris107: We came down broad steps into the catacombs?
chris107: But happy to try
chris107: East and North then?
Kjato Ragfoot: Yes.
Smon: Yes. You head east from the junction. There is a large alcove at the e end of the tunnel, where it turns north.
Smon: /roll d20
Smon rolls 1d20 and gets: 1717,
chris107: East to the end then turn north.
Kjato Ragfoot: Let's check the alcove first.
Smon: Hakeem and Malenn see an emaciated but intact corpse lying atop the bones in the alcove.
chris107: My map is as reliable as ever!
Smon: Bjornalf and Rey see it too.
Smon: Its hands are folded over its chest in the prayer position.
Smon: It is dressed in tattered filthy rags.
Kjato Ragfoot: Is there any magic around this skeleton?
Smon: It's not a skeleton. There's plenty of withered flesh on it.
chris107: "A priest of Mitra?"
Kjato Ragfoot: A. It lies atop bones, it isn't bones itself.
Smon: Malenn: "Could be. If so, someone has taken his holy symbol. And why are his robes so filthy..." The corpse's eyes blink open.
Amalric: "That is why..."
chris107: Hakeem ghasps and draws his sword
Smon: The corpse raises itself from its bed of bones, grinning horribly through sharp pointed teeth. The eyes are red, demoniacal. It makes a sort of chittering sound.
chris107: Hakeem chops it's head off.
Smon: Answering chitters come from up the northern tunnel, to your left.
Smon: roll init
Kjato Ragfoot rolls 1d20+2 and gets: 1717, (+2) = 19
Smon: /roll d20+2
Amalric rolls 1d20+4 and gets: 1717, (+4) = 21

Smon: Malenn:
Smon: /roll d20+2
Smon rolls 1d20+2 and gets: 2020, (+2) = 22
Amalric: bet once the fighting starts the rolls will be reversed!
chris107 rolls 1d20+2 and gets: 1818, (+2) = 20
Smon: You all beat it. Hakeem first as he declared first - you strike as it's getting out of bed, so Advantage on attacks
Smon: 2 only can melee it.
chris107 Rolls 1d20+5x2 and gets:
3 (+5) = 8
20 (+5) = 25
Smon: Some of you might want to ready vs the northern chittering BTW
chris107 Rolls 1d20+5x2 and gets:
20 (+5) = 25
12 (+5) = 17
Smon: AC 12
Kjato Ragfoot: Bjornalf will ready.
chris107: Two hits!
chris107: two criticals?
Kjato Ragfoot: If there is anything approaching from the north, let me cast a spell first!
Smon: 2 crits
Smon: What spell do you Ready?
chris107: 8d6+6?
Amalric: Malenn and Bjornalf watch the north?
Kjato Ragfoot: Fairy Fire
chris107 rolls 8d6+6 and gets: 33, 55, 22, 66, 33, 33, 44, 33, (+6) = 35
Smon: 4d6+3 per hit, yup
Smon: Hakeem takes its head off, splits it in two for good measure.
chris107: Yeah!
Smon: Malenn readies her sword... "Here they come!"
Smon: Two more of the Undead come bounding and capering towards you down the tunnel, Bjornalf casts Faerie Fire...
Smon: /roll d20+2x2
Smon Rolls 1d20+2x2 and gets:
12 (+2) = 14
14 (+2) = 16
Kjato Ragfoot: (They have a DEX save to not become a Christmas tree)
Smon: The Force is strong in these critters, they dodge the shining lights.
Smon: Malenn strikes: "Hyaa!"
chris107: (Are they armed?)
Smon: /roll d20+5x2
Smon Rolls 1d20+5x2 and gets:
12 (+5) = 17
19 (+5) = 24
Smon: first hit there is a blast of golden light as Mitra's power smites the monster
Smon: /roll 4d8+4
Smon rolls 4d8+4 and gets: 33, 33, 44, 33, (+4) = 17
Smon: awe, still alive
Smon: She pulls her sword out & hits it again
Smon: /roll d8+4
Amalric: can Rey attack?
Smon rolls 1d8+4 and gets: 66, (+4) = 10
Smon: It crumbles to dust.
Smon: It attacks Malenn with claw-hand.... Rey can attack after it as he didn't Ready
Amalric: was he just twiddling thumbs?
Smon: /roll d20+4
Smon rolls 1d20+4 and gets: 1818, (+4) = 22
Amalric: (sorry, brb, make my rolls for me)
Kjato Ragfoot: (If you say WHAT you are going to do, you interrupt, if you just ready, you act after)
Smon: You had plenty of time to declare a Readied action... thought you were guarding the rear actually.
Smon: (yes)
Smon: (thx Kjato)
Smon: Malenn's flesh is raked... CON save
Smon: /roll d20+4
Smon rolls 1d20+4 and gets: 11, (+4) = 5
Smon: Malenn goes rigid.
chris107: Hakeem will smash it to pieces for that!
Smon: From down the western tunnel *Behind* you comes more of the ghoulish chittering.
Smon: But Rey is attacking the ghoul on Malenn - Chris you roll, 2 atts
chris107: "Get Maleen to saftey! "
chris107 Rolls 1d20+6x2 and gets:
1 (+6) = 7
13 (+6) = 19

Smon: /roll d4+1
Smon rolls 1d4+1 and gets: 11, (+1) = 2
Smon: 2 dmg
Smon: Bjornalf, in the dim light of Rey's dagger you look west and see ghoul-things pour out of the southern tunnel and start towards you.
Kjato Ragfoot: I can see in the dark!
Smon: (Good - then you can count, 6 of them).  Turn sequence is: Hakeem, Bjornalf, Ghouls, Rey.
chris107: "Does Hakeem hit on the 19?
Kjato Ragfoot: 6 ghouls approaching from the west!
chris107: How fast are they moving?
Smon: Hakeem can go now, you can aid Rey with the 1 on Malenn, or try to hold off the horde closing on Bjornalf.
chris107: He will rage and berserk into the hoard to allow the rest to escape with Malenn
Smon: They'll be on you this round. If Hakeem & Bjornalf form a blocking line only 3 will be able to attack you.
Smon: The horde are blocking your escape.
Smon: They're coming from the west, the exit stairs are past them.
chris107: In that case he will smash them to bits!
chris107:
chris107: Blocking line it is then
Smon: Stand beside Bjornalf (to his left is best - 2 vs you 1 vs B) and ready to hit them as they come in.
Kjato Ragfoot: Bjornalf will call forth his pact weapon, a magical scimitar.
chris107: "GRRRRR! For Malenn!"
Smon: Bjornalf calls forth his scimitar - can you do anything else?
Smon: /roll d20+5
Smon rolls 1d20+5 and gets: 1010, (+5) = 15
chris107: Berserk hack!
Kjato Ragfoot: Oh. Wait. I do not even need to cast it forth - I only need to do it if someone dispels it or takes it away.
Kjato Ragfoot: I will throw a burning oil into the ghouls then.
Kjato Ragfoot: I can simply draw it.
Smon: Malenn breaks free of the ghoul paralysis before it can rip her throat out - that's her action.
Smon: You'd have to light the oil rag first and you don't have a torch.
Smon: If you did have a naked flame that would have been a great idea.
Kjato Ragfoot: Hmm. True. Oh well, just fighting with my scimitar then.
Smon: OK, the ghouls come in... Hakeem & Bjornalf roll to hit
Smon: Hakeem berserk so 3 attacks
chris107: berserk yet?
chris107: Cool

Amalric: any light sources other than Rey's dagger?
Smon: Rey turns from finishing the ghoul that attacked Malenn to see Hakeem & Bjornalf have been paralysed and ghouls are swarming over them.
Smon: Just your magic dagger.
Kjato Ragfoot: Some fairy lights somewhere in the northern tunnel.
Smon: yes
Smon: The ghouls run as fast as humans (30')
Smon: The ghoul pack (4) is blocking your way out, so speed is academic.
Amalric: can Rey flee without being attacked?
Amalric: LOL, okay then
Amalric: so we walked into a dead-end?
Smon: I'm thinking Hakeem and Bjornalf fall over with the ghouls on them, which at least means Rey & Malenn can attack the ghouls...
Smon: yes

Smon: They head west then down the south tunnel.
Smon: yep

Smon: ac 12, 2 hit
chris107 rolls 2d6+5 and gets: 66, 44, (+5) = 15
Smon: Hakeem slays the last ghoul.
Smon: As his Berserk rage ends he feels trult exhausted.... 2 Exhaustion levels now
chris107: He calms and ravishes Malenn
Smon: There is some deep kissing amidst the slaughtered ghouls...
chris107: Now can we please get this stuff out of here?
chris107: Heal Bjo
chris107: Malenn has 10HP healing left?
Smon: Hakeem is now at half speed. Malenn returns to Bjornald and Lays on Hands... Bjornalf recovers 10hp
Smon: puts Bj 31 below full.
chris107: Search, get all our shit together and limp home?
Smon: He wakes up groggily.
Kjato Ragfoot: Bjornalf whispers "home sounds good"
Amalric: indeed
Smon: Four of the ghouls wear pendants of silver with good-sized diamonds, 500gp each.
Smon: 2000gp total value.
chris107:
Kjato Ragfoot: Wow. That was worth it.
Amalric: just
Smon: Malenn: "I guess the goblin looters never got this far... Or maybe some did and the ghouls ate them."
chris107: We aren't out yet!
Smon: Bjornalf recalls Guick saying many goblins had perished looting the catacombs.
Smon: You leave now?
Amalric: with haste
Kjato Ragfoot: Yes.
chris107: Collecting all the stuff we got earlier
Kjato Ragfoot: Back to the living room, taking the distillery, going home.
chris107: armour 'n stuff
Smon: GM OOC: I'll give xp for loot gained, you guys need to arrange your own treasure split & track your gold though.
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 55,
chris107: Okay
Smon: You pass a couple of loose fire beetles on the way out, browsing contentedly on some debris.
chris107: Hakeem doesn't keep a lot of money
Smon: Malenn: "Let's leave those be."
Smon: You return to the surface, the afternoon sun burns down on the sandstone ruins of Ulther's Shrine, white clouds scud across the sky.
chris107: agreed
Smon: Hakeem is walking slowly, it will be well after dark until he can get back to Selatine, or you could camp in the wilderness.
chris107: Lets try get back
Smon: ok
Amalric: Malenn could carry him in her arms?
Smon: Malenn helps Hakeem down the cliff path (as he has Disadvantage on skill checks), you reach the plain & head for Selatine.
Smon: /roll d6
chris107: Hakeem is a proud man.
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 55,
Kjato Ragfoot: (Finally, it will pay I hired someone who can make good chicken broth!)
chris107: (Chicken broth  )
Smon: Hyenas are cackling in the distance that night when Selatine comes in sight, but you reach the gate before any pick up your trail. The guard lets you in, weary after your great battles.
Smon: (Malenn has STR
Smon: 8
chris107: PHEW!
Smon: Malenn: "I get the impression Ulther's Crypt gets nastier the deeper you go..."
chris107: "Bah!"
chris107: Nearly another TPK.
Smon: Is there any town stuff you want to do before we quit? Next game not until next Friday.
chris107: But the treasure is good
Amalric: "Yes, we sort of noticed that..."
Smon: Malenn nods to Hakeem. "There is that."
Amalric: dont think Rey has any town stuff
chris107: May 1st
Smon: Rey can go be welcomed into the arms of his harem...
Kjato Ragfoot: Well, how do we split the gold?
chris107: Hakeem needs to use some of his share to pay to have the Great Swords made into a shrine to Bondor.
Smon: add up and divide by 4, if Malenn gets a share
Kjato Ragfoot: I agree with that.
chris107: Equal shares
Amalric: Malenn is Hakeem's slave, she gets some of his
Amalric:
Amalric: plus she's a paladin, she doesnt need gold
Smon: The New Year Festival is about to start, you can rest and have fun for a week of game time and we'll pick it up in 4446 BCCC
chris107: Malenn is a free woman
chris107: Hakeem keeps no slaves.
Kjato Ragfoot: Can we sell the distillery?
Kjato Ragfoot: Or do we want to use them?
Amalric: ah, New Year with the harem, how...thrilling
Smon: Malenn is (a) free now and (b) saving up for her army to conquer the Red Reavers of Grimalon.
Amalric: fair enough
chris107: If you guys can figure it out it could be a good business for you. Excellent stuff for naval warfare.
Amalric: shall we keep the distillery until we see how effective the flaming bombs are?
Smon: Kogor the Dwarf could probably make good use of your still.
Amalric: cheap ammunition
Smon: (He'd clean it out & start making whisky!)
chris107: What does he offer?
Amalric: LOL always grand plans, until someone offers us money
chris107: Hakeem cares little for money
chris107: It's only booze.
Amalric: okay maybe he has a big sword to offer you
Kjato Ragfoot: Hakeem wanted the swords for his shrine?
chris107: Yes please.
Kjato Ragfoot: What about the javelins and bronze armour?
chris107: They were valued at 25gp each, take it out of his share.
chris107: The armour was worth a lot
chris107: 300+/suit
Kjato Ragfoot: What were the black pearl necklaces?
Amalric: lets sell the lot (bar the swords) and see what we get
Smon: GM: Over the next few days you rest & celebrate, Lord Vex will give you 375gp each per suit if you 'gift' him the bronze half-plate.
Amalric: one necklace, 800gp
Smon: Black pearl necklace 800, yup
chris107: Cool
Smon: 4 diamond pendants from ghouls 4x500=2000
Amalric: can we get someone to buy the one Rey has, too? Say we found it in the crypt
Kjato Ragfoot: Any overprotective parents around who want halfling armour for their child?
Smon: yes, sell as a pair is smart, +800gp
Amalric: or maybe keep it to give back to Aeschela, get a bigger reward?
Amalric: okay lets do that
Smon: A merchant offers you 500gp for the halfling-size armour
chris107: Deal 'em Rey!
chris107: Do your stuff
Amalric: sell the armor
Kjato Ragfoot: Do we get money for the javelins?
Smon: 1gp each
chris107: No haggling Rey? Disappointed
Smon: they're not great
Smon: The numbers assume haggling w merchants, or gift exchange I guess
Kjato Ragfoot: 4509 gp all in all.
chris107: Okay, I guess we got a big haul this time!
Kjato Ragfoot: (+800 if Rey sells his necklace=
Smon: I have listed: 2 pearl necklaces > 1600, 4 pendants > 2000, 3 armour > 1125
Smon: 500 halfling armour
Smon: 4509/4=1127gp each?
Kjato Ragfoot: 1127,25 each
chris107: Wow!
Smon: spend half of that carousing & I'll give you 563 treasure xp.
chris107: Works for Hakeem
Smon: (That way you don't have to stay broke anymore - I was always going to halve treasure xp at 5th)
Kjato Ragfoot: I considered building a saltwater lake as shrine to the Ocean Queen in my garden, With seawater fishes. And a lakener.
Smon: can do that
Smon: That'll count to xp
chris107: Hakeem wants to have a shrine to Bondar made from the greatswords of the vanquished.
Smon: cool
Kjato Ragfoot: Indeed.
Kjato Ragfoot: We will turn Selatine into a major center of worship.
Amalric: nice haul!
Smon: If we restart it in 2 weeks game time that'll be enough to get your shrines done in wood & rough stone
Smon: I'll calc monster xp.
chris107: Then He'll booze a load, put 10GP aside and give the rest to Malenn in the form of jewelry and stuff
Amalric: Rey has Lucy researching the Obi-Wan beam in his basement
Amalric: he'll buy some fine jewels for his girls, and say that the clothes merchant just keeps passing Selatine for some reason...
chris107:
Smon: LOL
Smon: hm, on the official calc the hob knights were worth more than the ghouls... I'll give a 50% bonus to ghoul xp considering their numbers.
Smon: Makes a round 5000 monster xp/4 = 1250. I'll round treasure XP to 600 each to include the Still & swords etc, and +300 each for exploration
Kjato Ragfoot: So 2150 each=
chris107: Very nice!
Amalric: on the way to 6th level
Smon: I'll add that now
chris107: Need 8th for another +2 to ability scores

5:28pm  2015-4-24 Smon Has entered the room
Smon: test
5:33pm  2015-4-24 chris107 Has entered the room
chris107: Hi Simon
5:34pm  2015-4-24 Kjato Ragfoot Has entered the room
chris107: Hi Kjato
Kjato Ragfoot: Hello chris
chris107: How did the sea voyage go?
5:35pm  2015-4-24 Amalric Has entered the room
Amalric: hello, good evening and welcome
chris107: Hey Graham
Amalric: and now for something completely different
Smon: Hi all
Kjato Ragfoot: Good evening Amalric
Kjato Ragfoot: And hi Smon
Kjato Ragfoot: If you do not know already: Bjornalf might or might not have managed to burn Selantine this morning. This is still in a quantum state till Smon actually rolls.
chris107: Just grab a glass 1 min
chris107:
Smon: So, need to decide whether Rey and Hakeem joined Bjornalf on his sea voyage, or Bjornalf completes his voyage and returns to rendezvous at Selatine - after telling a Tsamar-hunting captain of Rallu to look for Tsamar there.
Smon: I did some rolls just now
Smon: Basic question is whether Rey & Hakeem would be up for some island/sea adventuring or not.
chris107: Back
chris107: Hakeem would make a fine pirate
Kjato Ragfoot: Bjornalf is a Bachelor of Piracy. (He just failed his master thesis and thus switched course to become master of pact magic instead)
Amalric: okay, just kicked the kids out the door, wife is already out, have the house to myself - cheers!
Smon:
Amalric: Rey gets horribly seasick
Kjato Ragfoot: Almaric junior, go to the playground NOW! Daddy needs to play D&D.
Amalric: it was part of his initial character description
Smon: yup
Amalric: not to say he can't go to see, just that he would prefer not to
Amalric: but if its an essential part of tonights game, he'll suck it up
Smon: I did suggest that Rey could have spent the past 2 days being seasick.  But I'm happy to restart back at Selatine if that's ok w everyone?
Amalric: (havent read Bjornalf's adventures today, had planned on doing so)
chris107: me too but burned up my apple crumble
Kjato Ragfoot: Well, short description: Met some seaman and exchanged pleasantries and gift, passed by a wreckage, met a Rullan merchant prince who was looking for his sister that was abducted by Tsaram.
Kjato Ragfoot: Sent the merchant prince to Selatine to marry Vex's sister to forge an alliance and ambush Tsaram in port.
Amalric: whats a little seasickness between friends?
Kjato Ragfoot: Then stayed wisely behind to explore that island, not to becoming involved in feud between a merchant prince and a pirate queen.
Smon: how about a vote: who votes for exploring the Isle of Ogigian?
chris107: Is there anything to kill/rob there?
Smon: Who votes for restarting at Selatine?
chris107: If so hakeem is happy to join in
Smon: (You don't know)
Amalric: killing and robbing is our MO
Amalric: Selatine works for me
Kjato Ragfoot: We have no idea. I basically went there because I had a ship and play a sailor.
Smon: 1 vote Selatine.
Amalric: Lance was a former pirate captain, allegedly, which is why I opted for Rey being the opposite
Amalric: if essentially the same character
Kjato Ragfoot: I am fine with either - would just make sure to pass the island once to get a least a rough chart of the surroundings.
chris107: I guess hakeem needs to escape Thracia so Selatine is good for me.
Smon: ok
Kjato Ragfoot: Coastline? I think the word is coastline.
Smon: GM: Dusk, 24/12/4445 BCCC. Malenn, Hakeem & Osgar the bowman are returning to Selatine after their meeting with the Sphinx in the Caverns of Thracia, when they hear the sound of an explosion and fire shoots up into the darkling sky from the town ahead, about half a mile off across the meadows.
chris107: Hakeem just wants to kill stuff.
Smon: Rey is in bed enjoying the attentions of Alicia and the Striker twins, when he hears the explosion - a moment later Lucy Prentice bursts into the bedroom: "There's fighting in the streets! Soldiers!"
Amalric: "And? Come and join us, my dear!"
chris107: Hakeem growls, looking forward to bloodshed. LOTS of bloodshed.
Smon: Bjornalf is on board the Arcadia, having completed an uneventful charting of the Isle of Ogigian and its shoals - the Isle being about eight miles north-south, up to five east-west.
chris107: He draws his huge weapon and heads towards the din.
Smon: As the ship nears Selatine the lookout exclaims - Bjornalf sees the flames leaping up from the harbour.
Kjato Ragfoot: Hm. I believe that was the wisest detour I ever took.
chris107: (I'm guessing he can still recognize Lord Vex' men even when raging?)
Smon: Hakeem and Malenn hurry forward, leaving chainmail-clad Osgar behind...
Smon: In Mercellin Villa, Lucy Prentice looks incredulous at Rey.
Smon: /roll d20+6
Smon rolls 1d20+6 and gets: 1818, (+6) = 24
Amalric: "Oh bugger, hold on. I'm one of Lord Vex's men, aren't I?"
Smon: Then shrugs, smiles and gets into bed with him... as Rey considers...
Amalric: "I am sorry, dear ladies, but duty calls!"
Smon: Lucy pouts.
chris107: (We all do at times Lucy  )
Kjato Ragfoot: (That is why Bjornalf does not swear fealty)
Amalric: Rey gets dressed, armoured, and picks up his weapons
Amalric: "Don't worry, I shall return shortly. And Lord Reynard will make it up to you!"
Smon: Hakeem and Malenn have covered about half the distance to Selatine, when they see three wild-eyed men ahead, the leader is as big as an ox and has the nude form of a blonde slavegirl slung over his shoulder.
Smon: They look like three of Tsamar's crew - Hakeem had seen Tsamar in Redeye Inn, using the blonde slave girl as her footstool.
chris107: Hakeem will below a challange and then rage/berserk at the big chap
Smon: /roll d20+3
Smon rolls 1d20+3 and gets: 22, (+3) = 5
Smon: The big guy - http://payload111.cargocollective.com/1/1/42064/4524300/MEC17_4193_HarborThug.jpg
chris107: "Grrrrrr!"
Smon: The men stop at the sight of the pair, Hakeem yells and goes into rage as the big man throws down his captive and raises a massive Sea Axe.
Smon: Malenn moves to engage the other men.
Smon: roll init
chris107 rolls 1d20+2 and gets: 88, (+2) = 10

Smon: The big pirate nods. "Be seein' ya..." He Disengages and races for the river just to the north.
chris107: Hakeem races after him
chris107: Raging at the cur leaving combat
chris107: "Come back you puff!" he growls
Smon: The other pirate follows his boss. Malenn goes to tend to the blonde as Hakeem gives chase.
chris107: "I'LL KILL YOU ALL!"
Smon: The Selatine River is a mighty torrent, plunging fast down a deep v-gorge towards the sea, said to be death to any who enter...
Amalric: good time for Rey to step in front of them?
Smon: At the cliff top Hakeem sees the two men stop. The small man turns, raises a light crossbow and shoots at Hakeem while the big man jumps off, into the river.
chris107: Go Rey
Smon: Rey - ok we can say you went outside to a scene of carnage, red-sashed soldiers slaughtering Tsamar's pirates. You spotted the big man - Tsamar's deputy - burst out of the Redeye Inn carrying the blonde, and fight their way out the western gate leaving a trail of bandit, soldier and wall guard bodies.
Smon: Three men got out of Selatine... Rey comes racing up in time to see the big man throw himself into the river - you can throw a dagger if you like (surprise so any hit is a crit)

Amalric: "Here's hoping he dropped his purse before he jumped."
chris107: That would be nice.
Kjato Ragfoot: (Sometimes, it would be really useful to have a magician who knows Unseen Servant, wouldn't it`?)
chris107: (  )
Amalric: (do you know one ?  )
Kjato Ragfoot: (Nope)
Smon: (family drama sorry - lost car keys)
Smon: (she found them! *sigh*)

chris107:
Smon:
Smon: (was all set to have my evening ruined there!)
Amalric: can Rey rapier the crossbow guy?
Smon: (could still be if there is some other packing disaster - family going on under 8s Rugby tour tomorrow)

Amalric: bring on yer whole fuckin army
Kjato Ragfoot: (While Hakeem cuts both his legs off, Amalric throws a dagger directly into his heart)
chris107: A very gore splattered Hakeem grins broadly at his friend Rey
Smon: Are you going to trust the deadly river to finish the pirate chief, or jump in after him?
Smon: (I will kill you if you roll low on swim checks)
chris107: Mmmmmm
chris107: Any more pirates lurking about to kill?
Amalric: why doesn't Bjornalf jump in? sure the Sea Goddess would spare him
Smon: Hakeem looks around - no more pirates; just Rey, and Malenn coming up with a sobbing slavegirl.
Kjato Ragfoot: Because Bjornalf is on a ship near the harbour.
chris107: "Let the fat slug swim for it Rey. He's left enough blood on Selatine soil."
Kjato Ragfoot: I could run him over with my ship, though. Probably.
Smon: Bjornalf is currently approaching the harbour, where a pirate ship is burning brightly, a second ship swarming with Red-sashed Marines.
chris107: 9Go for it Kjato!  )
Kjato Ragfoot: If I see a pirate captain swimming out of the river, I will run him over with my ship.
Smon: ok... well I can roll his swim checks now, there is a small chance he gets swept out to sea.
chris107: (Some superb late Beethoven on R3 tonight)
Smon: /roll d20+5x3
Smon Rolls 1d20+5x3 and gets:
6 (+5) = 11
6 (+5) = 11
11 (+5) = 16
Kjato Ragfoot: (I used to listen to BBC radio till they switched to that flash only player.)
Smon: /roll d20+5
Smon rolls 1d20+5 and gets: 1515, (+5) = 20
Smon: /roll d20+5
Smon rolls 1d20+5 and gets: 1313, (+5) = 18
Smon: /roll 1d20+5
Smon rolls 1d20+5 and gets: 77, (+5) = 12
Smon: /roll 6d6
Smon rolls 6d6 and gets: 55, 66, 44, 11, 66, 11, = 23
Smon: heh, exactly 0 hp
Smon: His body gets washed up at Selatine harbour a few days later.
chris107: Enough to drown on I hope
chris107: Yeah!
Smon: Good thing Rey dinged him.
chris107: A watery death
Kjato Ragfoot: (Good work you two!)
chris107: And good work to the sea too!
chris107:
Smon: Landing at the quayside, Bjornalf finds Eldam Alamsor leaving the unburned pirate ship in the company of his Marines, and a frightened looking girl in scanty maid's outfit.
Smon: Eldam is splattered in blood, he nods happily to Bjornalf. "This is my cousin's handmaid..." maid - https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQerYRYLrcLJM6L_ntK_6YXk36wc_-H1exltW6cVYybW135bJ7sgIQZy4MmKGihazDcCkwx5Na3Ck03uO0n0DAC-xf-xr-3dY-Z2eLU-UUs_o3UqkJBv9QxXsZhkEuIqSNhTslLvML_rU/s1600/Alli+of+House+Alamsor%2C+Rallu+handmaid.jpg
Kjato Ragfoot: Hmm. Your cousin has a good taste in maids.
Smon: "Alli - she says Tsamar and Lucretia are at the Redeye Inn. The Marines should have them."
chris107: "Where is the Sea Bitch - erm Witch?"
chris107:
Smon: Happy smiles happily at the Maid, who smiles back demurely.
chris107: That's Tsamar in a whole heap of bother.
Smon: Eldam turns to Happy: "Take care of Alli here - I have business to attend to. With me, Bjornalf?"
Kjato Ragfoot: Go ahead, I am right behind you.
Amalric: Rey smiles at the maid. "looking for a new home?"
Kjato Ragfoot: Happy, be a gentleman!
Smon: Eldam heads up the cliff-steps to upper Selatine, Bjornalf following. Entering the Redeye Inn they find a scene of carnage, bodies everywhere both pirate and Marine.
Kjato Ragfoot: But neither Lucretia nor Tsamara?
Smon: In the far corner a cornered and bloodied Tsamar stands, waving her sword to keep back a half dozen Red Sash Marines.
chris107: "Surrender wench!"
Kjato Ragfoot: Hmm. I will try to put her to sleep.
Smon: No Lucretia. A Marine corporal calls out to Eldam: "Sir! A few of the pirates made a break for it with Lucretia - we have men following them..." Tsamar snarls: "Your bastards'll never catch Zorgun!"
Smon: Bjornalf uses Sleep... roll the dice.
chris107: (Everyone knows pirates have burried treasure somewhere  )
Kjato Ragfoot: That won't be necessary, I am quite sure he will be quite willing to exchange her for you.
Smon: /roll d8
Smon rolls 1d8 and gets: 77,
Smon: (Rey & Hakeem are still outside Selatine)
chris107: (Okay  )
Smon: (Having just killed Zorgun & rescued Lucretia)
Smon: Are you casting Sleep Bjornalf?
Kjato Ragfoot: Oh. That is actually a better course of action. I will use "Suggestion" on her that we will let her go in exchange for Lucretia, if she surrenders herself..
Kjato Ragfoot: No. I will cast Suggestion instead. "Surrender yourself and we will exchange you for the hostage we are after."
Smon: ok
Smon: her save roll:
Kjato Ragfoot: "Your life or death means nothing to us".
Smon: /roll d20
Smon rolls 1d20 and gets: 1212,
Smon: your dc is 14?
Smon: She doesn't have a bonus...
Kjato Ragfoot: 15 even, I believe, for a level 2 spell.
Smon: no change by spell level
Smon: 8 + Prof (2) + CHA (4)
Kjato Ragfoot: Then 14.
Smon: Tsamar sags, and throws down her sword. The marines rush in, overpower and bind her.
Smon: A moment later there is a shout from the Gate: "Hakeem and Lord Reynard! And Malenn!"
Smon: Hakeem & Rey triumphantly return to Selatine, Malenn supporting the dazed Lady Lucretia.
Amalric: Rey looks up but says nothing, though he is curious. He just doesn't shout much
Kjato Ragfoot: Heh. I was sure they could not resist this slaughter.
Smon: Red Sash Marines cheer at the sight of Lucretia
chris107:
Smon: A big, bearded man in sea captain garb strides forward to greet the returnees. "Cousin." Lady Lucretia: "Eldam!"
chris107: Hakeem looks around hoping for more slaughter.
Smon: Eldam Alamsor - https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUNegzBC28qH12aW-dxPREy-yCmiJysZzQYHKa-ukepk65ZilQSr7DgNmtOe2Gxa4OBzoEllGxKSwUMSaXTKGzTRLOKiP3sePTMaLsoZ7G0bOD_T6Z_16gmEs3ST1Rqcz0l-gf7lZwoyY/s1600/Eldan+Alamsor+of+Rallu%2C+cousin+of+Lucretia.jpg
Smon: The battle appears to be over.
chris107:
Smon: Eldam looks Lucretia up and down. "Be a little more careful where you sail, next time..."
chris107: He calms......
Kjato Ragfoot: Hakeem, I am sure there will be plenty of drinking and celebration this evening. After all, you two just helped to reunite a long lost brother and sister!
Smon: GM: You are all currently standing in the centre of Selatine, surrounded by a cheering throng.
Smon: Cousins
chris107: Cleaning his huge blade on any nearby dead pirate.
Kjato Ragfoot: Oh. cousin and cousine then.
chris107: (Again Hakeem makes a big thing celebrating Malenn in the eyes of the people)
Smon: Eldam turns to Lord Vex as the Lord of Selatine walks up beside Priestess Chelarre, cleaning his own blade on a cloth.
Smon: "My thanks, Lord of Selatine. My cousin is freed, Tsamar is captured and her men dead."
Smon: Hytirus shrugs. "Glad to assist in ridding our lands of this scourge."
Smon: Eldam turns to Hakeem Rey and Malenn. "And thank you for recovering Lucretia. I thought we'd lost her again." He smiles.
chris107: "A pleasure. Though it was Lady Maleen who secured your cousin."
chris107: Malenn even
Smon: Jana Vex calls out: "Thank you, Paladin!" Malenn nods, smiling. There is much cheering from the assembled Marines and Vex's men, who have also been killing pirates.
chris107: "I'm thirsty. A pint or three Rey?"
chris107: Hak loots the nearest dead pirate for the price of a round of drinks and goes to celebrate.
Smon: Eldam: "I will be returning to Rallu with Tsamar. She will suffer as she made Lucretia suffer... Incidentally, I seem to have acquired a spare pirate vessel I have no use for. Lord Vex, perhaps you would like it?" Vex nods and grins.
Amalric: "3 or 4, I should say, Hakeem!"
Smon: Hakeem manages to find an unlooted pirate and begins the celebration, as the Marines carry the corpses off to a pile outside the walls, ready for the burning.
chris107:
Smon: Or possibly burying - will make quite a hillock.
chris107: mmm skull pile?
Amalric: (hope someone tells them Zurgon is dead)
Smon: Eldam turns to Bjornalf one last time. "Bjornalf... I'm glad I trusted you. You have my deepest thanks. My House is in your debt."
Smon: (you won't know Zurgon is dead for a few days)
Smon: Time jump to your next delve now?
chris107: "Oh yeah we killed Zurgon too. Rey got him in his black heart with a dagger."
chris107: Throws in Hakeem carelessly
Kjato Ragfoot: You showed me wonders beyond all my expactations, I am grateful.
Amalric: "I get that a lot. Though usually from girls."
Amalric: (Usually)
chris107: He goes back to ravishing Malenn and boozing huge amounts of grog.
Kjato Ragfoot: (I am curious whether Eldram and Vex haggle out a a marriage for Jana)
Smon: (good point)
Kjato Ragfoot: Well, Bjornalf still have to present maps and treasure found to Lord Vex.
Smon: Next day after the partying Bjornalf goes to Vex Villa, is received by the court - Lord Hytirus, Jana Vex, Chelarre Foxwood, Eldam Alamsor is there with now-dressed Lucretia.
Smon: /roll d20+4
Smon rolls 1d20+4 and gets: 1616, (+4) = 20
Smon: Eldam appears to have been successfully working his charms on young Jana Vex.
Amalric: poor bastard
Smon: LOL
chris107: 9Like that's tough to do?
Smon: Rey, Malenn & Hakeem are also invited.
Amalric: HAHAHA nice one Chris!
chris107:
Amalric:
Kjato Ragfoot: (Good, That makes TWO lords grateful to Bjornalf: The one for getting back a relative, the other for getting rid of one)
chris107: (You are a wise man Kjato  )
Amalric: (indeed!)
Smon: Jana is sat close to the dashing Eldam, Lucretia with her pretty maid.
Smon: Hytirus: "Bjornalf, welcome! Come forward, and tell us of your voyage."
Kjato Ragfoot: Lord Vex! We charted the islands coast, but that brought not much news. If there are any hidden treasures on the island, we have to find them yet.
Smon: "What of the Merfolk?"
Kjato Ragfoot: We also met with the merfolk, who gave us this gift (Bjornalf will present the pearls and corals).
Smon: brb
Kjato Ragfoot: I believe Selentine might prosper from regular training with the merfolk. I believe setting up a market at the statue of Neptune Poseidon on the Island of Ogiangi would benefit merfolk and Selantine equally.
Kjato Ragfoot: That place is sacred to both parties, and thus should ensure a safe place for both.
Smon: back
Smon: Lord Vex listens and nods. "A good plan."
Smon: (are you telling him the merfolk's news? If you remember it.)
Kjato Ragfoot: The merfolk also told us the Citadel of Water is spoiled, thus allowing dark inhabitants of the sea to raid the land.
chris107:
Kjato Ragfoot: There was one raid just recently, where the merrowfolk captured several humans and razed a town.
chris107: Hakeem looks fierce at this news.
Smon: Lord Vex looks at the pearls and corals. "Very nice - Lord Reynard, Hakeem, for your work last night, share these..." he hands the treasure off to Jana, who presents it to Hakeem.
Smon: "Do you know which town, Bjornalf?"
Amalric: (how much?)
Smon: 205gp each.
Kjato Ragfoot: I wasn't familiar with the name, but I am sure one of the local sailors recognized it.
chris107: "A fine gift! You have my thanks" Hakeem looks v happy and shares them with his friends
Kjato Ragfoot: (Uh. You forget my part - Vex did not get the whole treasure, but just a share.)
Smon: Vex nods. "I'll ask Happy. Meanwhile Bjornald, Eldam and I have been talking... We have a gift for you, a ship that is currently named Tsamar's Jewel - I expect you'll want it renamed. By all accounts the swiftest in these waters." He grins.
Smon: (105gp then)
chris107: very nice Kjato!
Smon: (You look a bit mean now he just gave you a 20,000gp ship though)
Kjato Ragfoot: Well, I would still like to keep one of the corals.
Amalric: he wants his cake and to eat it
Kjato Ragfoot: Oh. A ship. For me?
Kjato Ragfoot: Bjornalf seems slightly flabbergasted
Smon: Happy is summoned from the Redeye Inn, and confirms the town was Lygol, on the coast of Yusan's domain.
Smon: Lord Vex: "Aye. Those big Antillian ships are too much for me, Bjornalf - I prefer captaining a galley."
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 66,
Smon: Chelarre nods. "When war with Yusan comes, Bjornalf, I hope you will aid us."
Kjato Ragfoot: In that case, the ship should be named "Vex Gratitude"
Kjato Ragfoot: I will consider it. Yusan is in league with dark sea-folk, that alone marks him an enemy.
Kjato Ragfoot: And fighting on your side against such a traitor would be an honour.
chris107: @ GM - What is Hak's view of Yusan? he's a sword knight of Bondar aftyer all..
Smon: Lord Vex grins: "A good name! Yusan, aye..." He yawns. "Late night... Lord Eldam and his cousin will be staying with us awhile, as Lucretia recovers from her captivity. Other matters... Hakeem, Malenn, how goes your dungeon-delving? What secrets have you uncovered now?"
chris107: Hakemm tells of the deep caverns below the temple of Death
Smon: GM: Yusan was exiled from his tribe for foul deeds, rumoured to include the rape and murder of his clan's Defender (psychic Altanian girls who use their powers to defend the tribe, and are considered holy) and built up a gang of renegades & murderers into a powerful fighting force.
chris107: of the great battle with Grastic
chris107: and of the esoteric Ontussa
chris107: (Thanks Simon, so in short he would have no trouble taking his head?  )
chris107: He tells of what he has leaned that ancient kings may be interred there and of his plans to smash all the works of Thanatos.
Smon: (Well he *is* a Sword Knight of Bondor - being a murdering scumbag doesn't change that)
chris107: (Hehe  )
chris107: (Maybe if Hakeem finishes him off it will make room in the ranks?)
Smon: Lord Hytirus, Jana, Chelarre, Eldam & co all listen in fascinating at Hakeem's tale, the women gasping at news of the legendary Sphinx.
chris107: Hak gestures to Of if he is present.
Smon: Hytirus: "Who knows what ancient wisdom she may hold?" Chelarre: "Or what terrible fate awaits those who fail her tests..."
chris107: "This clever fellow even outfoxed her!" He tells of the riddle contest.
chris107: Os
Smon: Osgar steps forward and receives Hytirus' thanks.
chris107: Hak tells of her huge claws and fierce teeth.
Smon: Eldam grins: "It seems we have all been busy!"
chris107: Doing horrid impressions
Smon: The hall sits enthralled for an hour at Hakeem's epic account.
Smon: Happy: "Tis one for the history books!"
chris107: The barbarian grinns, snuggling up to malenn at the end of his story and drinking deeply of Lord V's wine
Smon: Hytirus: "If you need any equipment for your delves - rope, lanterns, grappling irons - you need only ask, Hakeem."
Amalric: Rey has nipped home for a quickie and appears back just as Hakeem's tale ends
Smon: LOL
chris107:
chris107: "You have my thanks again."
Smon: Hytirus smiles at Malenn too, she smiles back proudly, hugging Hakeem close.
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 66,
Amalric: wandering monster?
Smon: Heh. As the tale reaches its crescendo with the battle last night, Bondor sends lightning, the thunder rattling the window-panes of the Hall.
Smon: (weather check)
chris107: Excellent!
Smon: Hakeem has Inspiration again (so does Bjornalf - don't think he's used his)
Kjato Ragfoot: Well, I hardly rolled.
Smon: (Hakeem will be SOOL in the Dry Season though)
Kjato Ragfoot: So I still have it.
chris107: Hak grasps his silver pendant in thanks to the Sword God "I shall conquor evn death for you Bondor!" he swears.
Smon: Lord Vex has the serving-slaves bring in a feast, you all dine richly of his hall.
Smon: Rey Hakeem & Bjornalf have a chance to get together and make further plans.
chris107: (If hak wasn't as dumb as a stump he would be thinking about a symbolic union of Mitra and Bondar...)
chris107: (Already thinking about my character for your next campaign there Simon  )
Smon: heh
Kjato Ragfoot: (Well, there are plenty other characters around who could suggest such a thing.)
chris107: Hak is eager to go back to back to Thracia but the pickings seem much richer below the shrine...
chris107: (In other words so long as there's stuff to kill I'm happy)
Amalric: (dont get ahead of yourself, Chris, you may need him for THIS campaign  )
Smon: (OOC - and I'm adding treasure to Thracia, the review I read noted it's a bit of a wasteland!)
chris107: (That wouldn't surprise me. Though at 5th Hakeem becomes very tough)
Smon: (but you did get a +1 war pick from Macreus I think you forgot about)
Kjato Ragfoot: I am fine with plundering whereever there is plunder to be found.
Kjato Ragfoot: (I remembered it but have no idea who got it)
chris107: (Not forgotten. Hak will only ever use swords. Magic means little to him)
Smon: (well you can sell stuff too!)
chris107: (He's a true barbarian)
Kjato Ragfoot: (Bjornalf does not mind using a warpick, if nobody else wants it)
Kjato Ragfoot: (And he definitely does not mind magic)
chris107: (Fill your boots Kjato  )
Smon: Rey can't use it so Bjornalf would be a good choice.
Smon: It's as good as a sword, it just looks weird.
chris107: OOC - Simon, my map is a bit off a mess. In the big cavern on lvl 2 is there another bridge heading West?
Smon: GM: During the feast, Rey notices Eldam of Rallu trying to get his attention.
Kjato Ragfoot: Oh. wait. Bjornalf can only use simple weapons.
Smon: OOC no
Smon:  @Kjato
chris107: OOC - Thanks
Smon: The river runs east to west with banks n & s west of bridge
chris107: What about Ath's new character?
Smon: Yeah, he could use it instead of falchion
chris107: And what happened to Tor's magical stuff?
Kjato Ragfoot: Hmm. What about Malenn? She should be able to use it and could definitely need a magic weapon?
Amalric: Rey makes a mental note to quietly have a word with Eldam when he gets the chance
Smon: Tor's stuff got buried with him for future adventurers to loot.
Smon: Malenn needs a finesse weapon, ie her rapier
Smon: She's a bit crap w str weapons.
Smon: Would be ATT+3 dam 1d8 w the pick
chris107: Don't you think Malenn has enough huge weapons to handle right now?!
Smon: 1d8+2 sorry
Smon: She's att +5 dam 1d8+4 w rapier
chris107: Os then?
Kjato Ragfoot: Hmm. Then we should ask Ath if he wants the pick for his character and otherwise sell it.
Smon: You can gift it to Os, I'll put it on his sheet for now.
chris107: Make up a bit for Tor getting killed while saving our collective bacon.
chris107: Cool
7:52pm  2015-4-24 prespos Has entered the room
chris107: (A little guilt lifts from my shoulders...)
Amalric: hey Jonh
chris107: John!
prespos:
Kjato Ragfoot: OK. Where are there rumours about magical daggers, rapiers and swords?
chris107: We just killed Pirates
Amalric: I have the magic dagger, I just need the magic rapier
Smon: (With the help of 50 Marines & a 9th level Wizard)
chris107: "Bah! magic!" (I'll eat those words when the +5 great sword turns up)
Smon: Yusan is rumoured to wield a mighty sorcerous Greatsword.
Smon: (Maxes at +3 in 5e BTW)
Smon: (Bit like B/X)
chris107: That's where we should go then. Hakeem will kill him and take his sword. It's what Bondor would want.
Smon: Some say it's the weapon that Bondor used to overthrow the Dragon Lords, that it renders Yusan invincible...
Smon:
chris107: (+3 is fine Simon  )
chris107: So where for now boys?
Kjato Ragfoot: In that case, we should steal the sword first and slay Yusan afterwards.
Smon: /roll d20+1
Smon rolls 1d20+1 and gets: 1313, (+1) = 14
Amalric: sounds like a plan
chris107: Island hopping for pirate treasure, ruins of ancient Thracia or tomb delving?
chris107: Or Yusan stealing/slaying
Amalric: tomb?
Kjato Ragfoot: I am in favour of tomb delving. We know that there is treasure down there and we won't have to feed a crew of sailors.
Kjato Ragfoot: Also, I am rather bankrupt right now - I have like 20 gp left.
chris107: Cool. I don't have a map for that so I'll follow your lead
Smon: (Bjornalf gave away all his mer-loot after all?)
Amalric: maps? who uses maps?
chris107: Hakeem gives what ever treasure (from the coral 'n stuff) he has left back to Bjornalf
Smon: Going next morning?
Kjato Ragfoot: Well. He was so flabbergasted about getting a ship he completely forgot to complain.
Smon: (Vex just took whatever was in the bag Bjornalf presented then gave it to Rey & Hakeem)
chris107: Hakeem will do his best to drink the lions share that evening first of course
chris107:
Kjato Ragfoot: Once we found some treasure, we can turn that into trading goods with the merfolk to establish that trade route.
chris107: Then a hearty breakfast and go kill things and take their stuff.
Kjato Ragfoot: I completely agree with Hakeems proposal.
chris107: "TRADE?!" Hakeem looks offended that his treasure will be wasted.
Smon: That evening late in the feast Rey returns from answering a call of nature (or getting in another quickie) when he is buttonoled by Eldam Alamsor.
chris107: "Can we hear the lamentation of dead trades women?!"
Smon: "Lord Mercellin? May I have a word?"
Kjato Ragfoot: Probably, I would prefer hearing other sounds from living trade women though!
chris107: Hak looks dissapointed. Lamentation is his thing
chris107: disappointed even
Smon: (ooc who can play tomorrow? Would it work to start a delve tonight & continue tomorrow?)
chris107: I'm game for the morning.
Kjato Ragfoot: Well, it is a Saturday tomorrow and have not yet planned anything else.
chris107: snooker in the afternoon though.
Kjato Ragfoot: My book and videos won't mind waiting a little longer.
Smon: (was thinking 9.30am as usual.)
chris107: (I bought the third Hobbit filem on DVD today, looking forward to watching it some time  )
Smon: @Graham you there?
Amalric: sorry. yes
chris107: Perfect time for me Simon.
Amalric: was just watchng the end of American Hustle, hadn't seen it before
Smon: >>Smon: That evening late in the feast Rey returns from answering a call of nature (or getting in another quickie) when he is buttonoled by Eldam Alamsor. chris107: "Can we hear the lamentation of dead trades women?!" Smon: "Lord Mercellin? May I have a word?"<<
chris107: (And will keep me sober ready for snooker for a change  )
Amalric: yes
Amalric: (not sure about tomorrow morning, but the wife might have plans for me!)
Smon: Eldam speaks with Rey in a corner of the hall. "Jana Vex... she is quite beautiful, yes? You know her well?"
Amalric: "Lord Alamsor! Miss Vex is quite striking, undoubtedly. I wouldn't say I know her well..."
Amalric: "But we have done some adventuring together."
Amalric: "She seems a fine young woman."
Smon: Eldam nods. "Bjornalf and Priestess Chelarre noted that was unmarried, that Lord Vex might be seeking a husband for her... Is there anything I should know?"
chris107: (Steady Graham!)
Kjato Ragfoot: (She truly likes the magical bathroom?)
Smon: "I had the feeling that you might be the one to ask."
chris107:
chris107: (This should be interesting....)
Smon: Is that a pink cat farting rainbows?
Kjato Ragfoot: (Chris: What the hell is that emoticon to symbolize?)
chris107: I don't know it just looks jolly
chris107: (Blame the wine)
Smon: brb tea...
Kjato Ragfoot: "In vinum, veritas"
chris107: More wine then
Smon: back
Smon: >>Eldam nods. "Bjornalf and Priestess Chelarre noted that was unmarried, that Lord Vex might be seeking a husband for her... Is there anything I should know?"<<
Smon: Rey seems distracted.
chris107: back
Smon: If Graham is afk I think prob best end there for now & resume 9.30am tomorrow with Bjornalf, Hakeem & Malenn heading for the Crypts of Ulther.
Amalric: sorry kids just came back in
chris107: Dick the Butcher would tell a great tale right now
Amalric: i'm here
Smon: Do you want to ask Kogor of Kolda along?
Smon: (I'll believe you're here when you post IC)
chris107: OOC He's a tough cookie right enough
Amalric: LOL
Amalric: both for Chris & the GM
chris107: OOC Guess it depends how close to 5th we all are?
Smon: I think Hakeem & Rey will hit 5th for next session
Smon: Not sure about Bjornalf.
Amalric: "Lord Vex is an honourable man, and Miss Vex is a Priest of Mitra...what more can I say?"
chris107:
Amalric: (typing one-handed is not a proficiency)
Amalric: (of mine)
chris107:
chris107: You surprise me Graham
Smon: (Bjornalf still 1600 off) Steady there chris!
Amalric: HAHAHA
Amalric: thats twice you've made me LOL tonight!
chris107: It's my job
Amalric: (have one arm around my youngest who's cold, been out all evening and she's freezing, it was pouring rain!)
Smon: Pour thing.
chris107:
Smon: (not deliberate typo)
Amalric: Dick lived too short a life, it has to be said
chris107: So often the case at our age
Smon: Most PCs IMCs live too short a life.
Amalric: what does Rey know of Eldam anyway?
Smon: I was aghast when I thought I was about to TPK you a few sessions back with the Thanatos chapel.
chris107: (Yeah that was too close by half!)
Amalric: yes that was closer than I thought it would be
Smon: GM: Eldam is apparently a noble merchant prince of Rallu and the cousin of Lady Lucretia.
Kjato Ragfoot: Indeed, that was a tough fight.
Amalric: well....
Amalric: "A union between your people and ours would be a good match."
Amalric: "Strength in unity."
Smon: It was the CON saves vs sleep nearly wiped you... then Hakeem miraculously survived 3 rounds of a wight chewing on him.
Amalric: "And she's a looker alright, easy on the eye and on the arm!"
chris107: -14/21 (35!)
Amalric: "You know I am one of Lord Vex's men, so I would not dare touch her. None would."
Smon: Eldam nods. "Indeed. Miss Vex is quite attractive, her assets... and a noble priestess of Mitra, to boot. Yet she does not interest you?"
Amalric: "They would never live to tell the tale."
Smon: "Hm... "
chris107:
Smon: "Lord Vex is jealous?"
Amalric: (Lance is dead, for one thing! Even if Rey does not know that)
chris107:
Amalric: "He only wishes a good match for his sister, as he should."
Amalric: "A noble's child, marrying a common soldier? It would never do."
Amalric: "Likely Lord Vex made a promise to his father."
Smon: ok, technically not quite lying so I'll allow Persuasion...
Smon: /roll d20+6
Smon rolls 1d20+6 and gets: 1111, (+6) = 17
Amalric: LYING?!?!? Rey is a gentleman!!
Smon:
Amalric: (false gentleman, but the spirit is there)
Smon: Eldam nods. Then pauses. "A common soldier? But you are a scion of noble House Mercellin. Everyone says so."
Amalric: (smartarse)
Smon: Eldam glances towards the main throng, Jana drinking beside her brother and chatting with Lady Lucretia.
chris107:
Amalric: "Oh, I did not mean myself, I meant anyone else around here."
Amalric: "Miss Vex would make a fine match, it is true. But..."
Smon: "Mercellin, the shining star of Antil... Indeed." He looks at Rey, and winks broadly.
Amalric: "I promised myself...to my childhood sweetheart. One day I shall return to my homeland, and make good on my promise."
prespos: Lucretia: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IuezNswtRfo
chris107: (I think Rey has been captured!)
Amalric: (do like that song, John! remember it from back in the day)
chris107: (John has a song for every occassion  )
prespos: (always)
Smon: Eldam nods again. "Your childhood sweetheart, I see. In the meantime you must confine yourself to common slave girls - and it has to be said, you have amassed a fine collection!"
Smon: (Playing song now)
Amalric: "Well, one does what one can. And thankyou! I see you are a connoiseur yourself, to recognise such fine items?!"
Kjato Ragfoot: (Hmm. Is Vex already married? If not, he could marry Lucretia in return)
Amalric: "Tell me, do you have many slaves yourself?"
Amalric: (DON'T SWEAR AT ME, KJATO! MARRIAGE?!??!?!?!?)
Amalric:
Smon: Lord Vex is unmarried, he seems taken with Chelarre Foxwood the priestess.
chris107: (  )
Smon: Eldam nods. "Aye, as a noble of Rallu it would hardly be seemly not to... But I have to say, your women, and the girls of Selatine, surpass even the beauties of Rallu."
Amalric: and actually I totally read 'Vex' as 'Rey'
Amalric: panic over
Smon: LOL
chris107:
Amalric: "Oh, I doubt that. They are perhaps merely...different. The women of Rallu are fine indeed, I imagine."
Smon: Eldam: "One could make a fortune exporting such women... But the slave trade is always a grubby business."
Amalric: (isn't Cirella from Rallu? You'll forgive me for not checking my char sheet with my 7-yo next to me  )
Smon: Eldam nods, gesturing at the handmaid Alli with his goblet. "Fine enough."
Smon: Cirella is from Rallu, yup.
Smon: (No Daily Star in the Amalric household then)
Amalric: "I quite agree. My slaves were all purchased and rescued from terrible fates."
chris107:
Amalric: "Otherwise I would have no dealing in the business."
chris107: (Frying pan to fire springs to mind....)
Amalric: (no papers here. I read the Guardian at work  )
chris107: (I meant the rescue stuff  )
Amalric: (oh quite, all nonsense. Rey would totally be interested in the slave business  )
Smon: Eldam nods. "Glad to hear it. You seem a chivalrous sort. I hear, by the by, there is a new religion that preaches the immorality of slavery - Mycretianism, I think they call it. Perhaps one day there will be no slaves, no masters... " he sighs. "It's getting late, forgive me."
chris107:
Amalric: growth market, always popular, dont have to look far for commodity
Smon: LOL
Amalric: "Oh? That is interesting. Seems like an ideal though, quite removed from the harsh times in which we live."
Amalric: "We can but try to live the best we can, and do our best for others."
Amalric: (Rey thinks, "What a lot of crapola!")
Kjato Ragfoot: (I should found a religion that requires man to have as many woman as they can, but to pay 1 gold for each to the cult. If I get Rey as follower, I won't ever need to work again)
Smon: Eldam nods. "Aye. Well, I think I'll be staying in Selatine a little while. It seems a fine place, and I've been a long time at sea. And Miss Vex is most charming, of course."
chris107: Hakeem wanders off with Malenn at this point. Until the slaying starts at least.
Smon: Hakeem takes a happy Malenn to bed for a second night of rumpy pumpy ahead of the next day's slaying.
chris107: (His CG alignment been none too keen on slavery. Hence his freeing of the fine filly  )
Amalric: "Excellent news. I look forward to seeing you around here, then. I hope you find Miss Vex...most welcoming."
Kjato Ragfoot: (Their daughter would be Halenn then?)
chris107: (Oh I like that Kjato!)
Amalric: (Rey is mightily relieved he didnt tap Jana in the showers a couple of days back  )
chris107: (Or Marleen... no)
Smon:  Best thing Rey never did!
Kjato Ragfoot: (And there son Makeen?)
Kjato Ragfoot: (their son)
chris107: (I can work with either Kjato  )
Kjato Ragfoot: (Then get twins: Makeen and Halenn)
Smon: Eldam bids Rey goodnight and retires. It's late at night and the hall is starting to clear when the Lady Lucretia approaches Bjornalf.
Kjato Ragfoot: Mylady?
Smon: Lucretia: "I... I hear I have you to thank for my liberation. That you trusted my cousin and sent him here."
chris107: Hakeem works hard to produce twins this night (as he has inspiration from Bondor  )
Smon: /roll 1d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 22,
Smon: /roll 1d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 33,
Smon: Doesn't look like Mitra wants Malenn getting pregnant just yet.
Smon: (gave you 2 rolls for Inspiration)
chris107: hehe well worth the spending of the inspiration though
Kjato Ragfoot: Well, he was a wonderful host and told me about his lost relative - what else was I supposed to do?
Kjato Ragfoot: I am happy you two were reunited that quickly.
Smon: Lucretia nods. "I... I wish I could reward you, but the pirates caroused away the treasures I had... except my handmaid. She.... would she be of any interest to you?"
Amalric: (No! But I know a man who would be interested! says Kjato  )
Smon: ooc I'm wondering what Bjornalf's ideal maid looks like.
Smon: (how many maid NPCs can there be?)
Amalric: (like Mary Berry, I'm guessing, given his liking for soup!)
Kjato Ragfoot: (Like this: http://www.xibar.net/photo/art/default/5013331-7485637.jpg)
chris107: Alas page not found
Amalric: same here
Smon: Yum.
Kjato Ragfoot: http://www.xibar.net/photo/art/default/5013331-7485637.jpg
Smon: I copy/pasted.
Amalric: OH HELLO
chris107: That's Mary Berry?!
chris107:
chris107: I think I've eaten her Muffins.
Smon: Not a common look for the Wilderlands but I expect if you ever got to loot Oriax's Harem she'd be in there somewhere.
Amalric: not last time I watched Bakeoff it wasnt
Kjato Ragfoot: Well, Bjornalf was never one for common looks.
Smon: What was Bjornalf's IC response to Lucretia?
Amalric: looting Oriax's harem would be something one would do carefully
Amalric: VERY carefully
Kjato Ragfoot: Miss Lucretia, that would be a wonderful gift - but won't you need your handmaiden for your stay and the journey back?
chris107: Oriax must die... mumbles hakeem in his sleep
Amalric: "Me, Lord Reynard Mercellin, here, in the bosom of the wizard Oriax's harem? Has no-one considered the consequences?"
Smon: Lucretia smiles slightly. "I can survive without... And she is all I have to give."
Amalric: such a shame Bjornalf will have to settle for...that
Smon: Heart weeps,
Smon: for B
chris107: So tomb raiding at 0930?
Smon: yup.
Kjato Ragfoot: If you insist, I will gladly take her then.
chris107: Alarm set
Smon: Lucretia smiles happily. "I will send her to you in the morning. Thank you again, and goodnight."
Smon: OOC stop there
Kjato Ragfoot: Goodnight, Lady Lucretia.
Kjato Ragfoot: All right.
Amalric: sure. i should be okay for the morning, but will see
Smon: GM: I'll start tomorrow with you leaving Selatine I think, get right into the action.
Smon: We'll play with whoever can make it.
Kjato Ragfoot: I should be able to make it.
Smon: I'll post log now, may be tomorrow to calc xp but looks like Rey & Hakeem are up.
Smon: as it were.
