Smon: test
5:33pm 2015-4-24 chris107 Has entered the room
chris107: Hi Simon
5:34pm 2015-4-24 Kjato Ragfoot Has entered the room
chris107: Hi Kjato
Kjato Ragfoot: Hello chris
chris107: How did the sea voyage go?
5:35pm 2015-4-24 Amalric Has entered the room
Amalric: hello, good evening and welcome
chris107: Hey Graham
Amalric: and now for something completely different
Smon: Hi all
Kjato Ragfoot: Good evening Amalric
Kjato Ragfoot: And hi Smon
Kjato Ragfoot: If you do not know already: Bjornalf might or might not have managed to burn Selantine this morning. This is still in a quantum state till Smon actually rolls.
chris107: Just grab a glass 1 min
chris107:
Smon: So, need to decide whether Rey and Hakeem joined Bjornalf on his sea voyage, or Bjornalf completes his voyage and returns to rendezvous at Selatine - after telling a Tsamar-hunting captain of Rallu to look for Tsamar there.
Smon: I did some rolls just now
Smon: Basic question is whether Rey & Hakeem would be up for some island/sea adventuring or not.
chris107: Back
chris107: Hakeem would make a fine pirate
Kjato Ragfoot: Bjornalf is a Bachelor of Piracy. (He just failed his master thesis and thus switched course to become master of pact magic instead)
Amalric: okay, just kicked the kids out the door, wife is already out, have the house to myself - cheers!
Smon:
Amalric: Rey gets horribly seasick
Kjato Ragfoot: Almaric junior, go to the playground NOW! Daddy needs to play D&D.
Amalric: it was part of his initial character description
Smon: yup
Amalric: not to say he can't go to see, just that he would prefer not to
Amalric: but if its an essential part of tonights game, he'll suck it up
Smon: I did suggest that Rey could have spent the past 2 days being seasick. But I'm happy to restart back at Selatine if that's ok w everyone?
Amalric: (havent read Bjornalf's adventures today, had planned on doing so)
chris107: me too but burned up my apple crumble
Kjato Ragfoot: Well, short description: Met some seaman and exchanged pleasantries and gift, passed by a wreckage, met a Rullan merchant prince who was looking for his sister that was abducted by Tsaram.
Kjato Ragfoot: Sent the merchant prince to Selatine to marry Vex's sister to forge an alliance and ambush Tsaram in port.
Amalric: whats a little seasickness between friends?
Kjato Ragfoot: Then stayed wisely behind to explore that island, not to becoming involved in feud between a merchant prince and a pirate queen.
Smon: how about a vote: who votes for exploring the Isle of Ogigian?
chris107: Is there anything to kill/rob there?
Smon: Who votes for restarting at Selatine?
chris107: If so hakeem is happy to join in
Smon: (You don't know)
Amalric: killing and robbing is our MO
Amalric: Selatine works for me
Kjato Ragfoot: We have no idea. I basically went there because I had a ship and play a sailor.
Smon: 1 vote Selatine.
Amalric: Lance was a former pirate captain, allegedly, which is why I opted for Rey being the opposite
Amalric: if essentially the same character
Kjato Ragfoot: I am fine with either - would just make sure to pass the island once to get a least a rough chart of the surroundings.
chris107: I guess hakeem needs to escape Thracia so Selatine is good for me.
Smon: ok
Kjato Ragfoot: Coastline? I think the word is coastline.
Smon: GM: Dusk, 24/12/4445 BCCC. Malenn, Hakeem & Osgar the bowman are returning to Selatine after their meeting with the Sphinx in the Caverns of Thracia, when they hear the sound of an explosion and fire shoots up into the darkling sky from the town ahead, about half a mile off across the meadows.
chris107: Hakeem just wants to kill stuff.
Smon: Rey is in bed enjoying the attentions of Alicia and the Striker twins, when he hears the explosion - a moment later Lucy Prentice bursts into the bedroom: "There's fighting in the streets! Soldiers!"
Amalric: "And? Come and join us, my dear!"
chris107: Hakeem growls, looking forward to bloodshed. LOTS of bloodshed.
Smon: Bjornalf is on board the Arcadia, having completed an uneventful charting of the Isle of Ogigian and its shoals - the Isle being about eight miles north-south, up to five east-west.
chris107: He draws his huge weapon and heads towards the din.
Smon: As the ship nears Selatine the lookout exclaims - Bjornalf sees the flames leaping up from the harbour.
Kjato Ragfoot: Hm. I believe that was the wisest detour I ever took.
chris107: (I'm guessing he can still recognize Lord Vex' men even when raging?)
Smon: Hakeem and Malenn hurry forward, leaving chainmail-clad Osgar behind...
Smon: In Mercellin Villa, Lucy Prentice looks incredulous at Rey.
Smon: /roll d20+6
Smon rolls 1d20+6 and gets: 1818, (+6) = 24
Amalric: "Oh bugger, hold on. I'm one of Lord Vex's men, aren't I?"
Smon: Then shrugs, smiles and gets into bed with him... as Rey considers...
Amalric: "I am sorry, dear ladies, but duty calls!"
Smon: Lucy pouts.
chris107: (We all do at times Lucy )
Kjato Ragfoot: (That is why Bjornalf does not swear fealty)
Amalric: Rey gets dressed, armoured, and picks up his weapons
Amalric: "Don't worry, I shall return shortly. And Lord Reynard will make it up to you!"
Smon: Hakeem and Malenn have covered about half the distance to Selatine, when they see three wild-eyed men ahead, the leader is as big as an ox and has the nude form of a blonde slavegirl slung over his shoulder.
Smon: They look like three of Tsamar's crew - Hakeem had seen Tsamar in Redeye Inn, using the blonde slave girl as her footstool.
chris107: Hakeem will below a challange and then rage/berserk at the big chap
Smon: /roll d20+3
Smon rolls 1d20+3 and gets: 22, (+3) = 5

Smon: The big pirate nods. "Be seein' ya..." He Disengages and races for the river just to the north.
chris107: Hakeem races after him
chris107: Raging at the cur leaving combat
chris107: "Come back you puff!" he growls
Smon: The other pirate follows his boss. Malenn goes to tend to the blonde as Hakeem gives chase.
chris107: "I'LL KILL YOU ALL!"
Smon: The Selatine River is a mighty torrent, plunging fast down a deep v-gorge towards the sea, said to be death to any who enter...
Amalric: good time for Rey to step in front of them?
Smon: At the cliff top Hakeem sees the two men stop. The small man turns, raises a light crossbow and shoots at Hakeem while the big man jumps off, into the river.
chris107: Go Rey
Smon: Rey - ok we can say you went outside to a scene of carnage, red-sashed soldiers slaughtering Tsamar's pirates. You spotted the big man - Tsamar's deputy - burst out of the Redeye Inn carrying the blonde, and fight their way out the western gate leaving a trail of bandit, soldier and wall guard bodies.
Smon: Three men got out of Selatine... Rey comes racing up in time to see the big man throw himself into the river - you can throw a dagger if you like (surprise so any hit is a crit)
Smon: The x-bow shoots at Hakeem:

Amalric rolls 4d6 and gets: 11, 55, 22, 22, = 10
chris107: Nice
chris107: Hakeem snarls and goes to savage the crossbower
Smon: 24 dmg
Smon: The big man twists as he falls, hitting the water with a big splash.
Amalric: "Here's hoping he dropped his purse before he jumped."
chris107: That would be nice.
Kjato Ragfoot: (Sometimes, it would be really useful to have a magician who knows Unseen Servant, wouldn't it`?)
chris107: ( )
Amalric: (do you know one ? )
Kjato Ragfoot: (Nope)
Smon: (family drama sorry - lost car keys)
Smon: (she found them! *sigh*)
Kjato Ragfoot: (That should be our next quest: Find a female witch slave that knows unseens servant)
chris107:
Smon:
Smon: (was all set to have my evening ruined there!)
Amalric: can Rey rapier the crossbow guy?
Smon: (could still be if there is some other packing disaster - family going on under 8s Rugby tour tomorrow)
chris107: As Hakeem chops him (the pirate) in half
chris107: (Cool Simon)
Smon: GM: Rey is on the x-bower before he can reload... roll to hit

Amalric: bring on yer whole fuckin army
Kjato Ragfoot: (While Hakeem cuts both his legs off, Amalric throws a dagger directly into his heart)
chris107: A very gore splattered Hakeem grins broadly at his friend Rey
Smon: Are you going to trust the deadly river to finish the pirate chief, or jump in after him?
Smon: (I will kill you if you roll low on swim checks)
chris107: Mmmmmm
chris107: Any more pirates lurking about to kill?
Amalric: why doesn't Bjornalf jump in? sure the Sea Goddess would spare him
Smon: Hakeem looks around - no more pirates; just Rey, and Malenn coming up with a sobbing slavegirl.
Kjato Ragfoot: Because Bjornalf is on a ship near the harbour.
chris107: "Let the fat slug swim for it Rey. He's left enough blood on Selatine soil."
Kjato Ragfoot: I could run him over with my ship, though. Probably.
Smon: Bjornalf is currently approaching the harbour, where a pirate ship is burning brightly, a second ship swarming with Red-sashed Marines.
chris107: 9Go for it Kjato! )
Kjato Ragfoot: If I see a pirate captain swimming out of the river, I will run him over with my ship.
Smon: ok... well I can roll his swim checks now, there is a small chance he gets swept out to sea.

Smon: His body gets washed up at Selatine harbour a few days later.
chris107: Enough to drown on I hope
chris107: Yeah!
Smon: Good thing Rey dinged him.
chris107: A watery death
Kjato Ragfoot: (Good work you two!)
chris107: And good work to the sea too!
chris107:
Smon: Landing at the quayside, Bjornalf finds Eldam Alamsor leaving the unburned pirate ship in the company of his Marines, and a frightened looking girl in scanty maid's outfit.
Smon: Eldam is splattered in blood, he nods happily to Bjornalf. "This is my cousin's handmaid..." maid - https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQerYRYLrcLJM6L_ntK_6YXk36wc_-H1exltW6cVYybW135bJ7sgIQZy4MmKGihazDcCkwx5Na3Ck03uO0n0DAC-xf-xr-3dY-Z2eLU-UUs_o3UqkJBv9QxXsZhkEuIqSNhTslLvML_rU/s1600/Alli+of+House+Alamsor%2C+Rallu+handmaid.jpg
Kjato Ragfoot: Hmm. Your cousin has a good taste in maids.
Smon: "Alli - she says Tsamar and Lucretia are at the Redeye Inn. The Marines should have them."
chris107: "Where is the Sea Bitch - erm Witch?"
chris107:
Smon: Happy smiles happily at the Maid, who smiles back demurely.
chris107: That's Tsamar in a whole heap of bother.
Smon: Eldam turns to Happy: "Take care of Alli here - I have business to attend to. With me, Bjornalf?"
Kjato Ragfoot: Go ahead, I am right behind you.
Amalric: Rey smiles at the maid. "looking for a new home?"
Kjato Ragfoot: Happy, be a gentleman!
Smon: Eldam heads up the cliff-steps to upper Selatine, Bjornalf following. Entering the Redeye Inn they find a scene of carnage, bodies everywhere both pirate and Marine.
Kjato Ragfoot: But neither Lucretia nor Tsamara?
Smon: In the far corner a cornered and bloodied Tsamar stands, waving her sword to keep back a half dozen Red Sash Marines.
chris107: "Surrender wench!"
Kjato Ragfoot: Hmm. I will try to put her to sleep.
Smon: No Lucretia. A Marine corporal calls out to Eldam: "Sir! A few of the pirates made a break for it with Lucretia - we have men following them..." Tsamar snarls: "Your bastards'll never catch Zorgun!"
Smon: Bjornalf uses Sleep... roll the dice.
chris107: (Everyone knows pirates have burried treasure somewhere )
Kjato Ragfoot: That won't be necessary, I am quite sure he will be quite willing to exchange her for you.
Smon: /roll d8
Smon rolls 1d8 and gets: 77,
Smon: (Rey & Hakeem are still outside Selatine)
chris107: (Okay )
Smon: (Having just killed Zorgun & rescued Lucretia)
Smon: Are you casting Sleep Bjornalf?
Kjato Ragfoot: Oh. That is actually a better course of action. I will use "Suggestion" on her that we will let her go in exchange for Lucretia, if she surrenders herself..
Kjato Ragfoot: No. I will cast Suggestion instead. "Surrender yourself and we will exchange you for the hostage we are after."
Smon: ok
Smon: her save roll:
Kjato Ragfoot: "Your life or death means nothing to us".
Smon: /roll d20
Smon rolls 1d20 and gets: 1212,
Smon: your dc is 14?
Smon: She doesn't have a bonus...
Kjato Ragfoot: 15 even, I believe, for a level 2 spell.
Smon: no change by spell level
Smon: 8 + Prof (2) + CHA (4)
Kjato Ragfoot: Then 14.
Smon: Tsamar sags, and throws down her sword. The marines rush in, overpower and bind her.
Smon: A moment later there is a shout from the Gate: "Hakeem and Lord Reynard! And Malenn!"
Smon: Hakeem & Rey triumphantly return to Selatine, Malenn supporting the dazed Lady Lucretia.
Amalric: Rey looks up but says nothing, though he is curious. He just doesn't shout much
Kjato Ragfoot: Heh. I was sure they could not resist this slaughter.
Smon: Red Sash Marines cheer at the sight of Lucretia
chris107:
Smon: A big, bearded man in sea captain garb strides forward to greet the returnees. "Cousin." Lady Lucretia: "Eldam!"
chris107: Hakeem looks around hoping for more slaughter.
Smon: Eldam Alamsor - https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgUNegzBC28qH12aW-dxPREy-yCmiJysZzQYHKa-ukepk65ZilQSr7DgNmtOe2Gxa4OBzoEllGxKSwUMSaXTKGzTRLOKiP3sePTMaLsoZ7G0bOD_T6Z_16gmEs3ST1Rqcz0l-gf7lZwoyY/s1600/Eldan+Alamsor+of+Rallu%2C+cousin+of+Lucretia.jpg
Smon: The battle appears to be over.
chris107:
Smon: Eldam looks Lucretia up and down. "Be a little more careful where you sail, next time..."
chris107: He calms......
Kjato Ragfoot: Hakeem, I am sure there will be plenty of drinking and celebration this evening. After all, you two just helped to reunite a long lost brother and sister!
Smon: GM: You are all currently standing in the centre of Selatine, surrounded by a cheering throng.
Smon: Cousins
chris107: Cleaning his huge blade on any nearby dead pirate.
Kjato Ragfoot: Oh. cousin and cousine then.
chris107: (Again Hakeem makes a big thing celebrating Malenn in the eyes of the people)
Smon: Eldam turns to Lord Vex as the Lord of Selatine walks up beside Priestess Chelarre, cleaning his own blade on a cloth.
Smon: "My thanks, Lord of Selatine. My cousin is freed, Tsamar is captured and her men dead."
Smon: Hytirus shrugs. "Glad to assist in ridding our lands of this scourge."
Smon: Eldam turns to Hakeem Rey and Malenn. "And thank you for recovering Lucretia. I thought we'd lost her again." He smiles.
chris107: "A pleasure. Though it was Lady Maleen who secured your cousin."
chris107: Malenn even
Smon: Jana Vex calls out: "Thank you, Paladin!" Malenn nods, smiling. There is much cheering from the assembled Marines and Vex's men, who have also been killing pirates.
chris107: "I'm thirsty. A pint or three Rey?"
chris107: Hak loots the nearest dead pirate for the price of a round of drinks and goes to celebrate.
Smon: Eldam: "I will be returning to Rallu with Tsamar. She will suffer as she made Lucretia suffer... Incidentally, I seem to have acquired a spare pirate vessel I have no use for. Lord Vex, perhaps you would like it?" Vex nods and grins.
Amalric: "3 or 4, I should say, Hakeem!"
Smon: Hakeem manages to find an unlooted pirate and begins the celebration, as the Marines carry the corpses off to a pile outside the walls, ready for the burning.
chris107:
Smon: Or possibly burying - will make quite a hillock.
chris107: mmm skull pile?
Amalric: (hope someone tells them Zurgon is dead)
Smon: Eldam turns to Bjornalf one last time. "Bjornalf... I'm glad I trusted you. You have my deepest thanks. My House is in your debt."
Smon: (you won't know Zurgon is dead for a few days)
Smon: Time jump to your next delve now?
chris107: "Oh yeah we killed Zurgon too. Rey got him in his black heart with a dagger."
chris107: Throws in Hakeem carelessly
Kjato Ragfoot: You showed me wonders beyond all my expactations, I am grateful.
Amalric: "I get that a lot. Though usually from girls."
Amalric: (Usually)
chris107: He goes back to ravishing Malenn and boozing huge amounts of grog.
Kjato Ragfoot: (I am curious whether Eldram and Vex haggle out a a marriage for Jana)
Smon: (good point)
Kjato Ragfoot: Well, Bjornalf still have to present maps and treasure found to Lord Vex.
Smon: Next day after the partying Bjornalf goes to Vex Villa, is received by the court - Lord Hytirus, Jana Vex, Chelarre Foxwood, Eldam Alamsor is there with now-dressed Lucretia.
Smon: /roll d20+4
Smon rolls 1d20+4 and gets: 1616, (+4) = 20
Smon: Eldam appears to have been successfully working his charms on young Jana Vex.
Amalric: poor bastard
Smon: LOL
chris107: 9Like that's tough to do?
Smon: Rey, Malenn & Hakeem are also invited.
Amalric: HAHAHA nice one Chris!
chris107:
Amalric:
Kjato Ragfoot: (Good, That makes TWO lords grateful to Bjornalf: The one for getting back a relative, the other for getting rid of one)
chris107: (You are a wise man Kjato )
Amalric: (indeed!)
Smon: Jana is sat close to the dashing Eldam, Lucretia with her pretty maid.
Smon: Hytirus: "Bjornalf, welcome! Come forward, and tell us of your voyage."
Kjato Ragfoot: Lord Vex! We charted the islands coast, but that brought not much news. If there are any hidden treasures on the island, we have to find them yet.
Smon: "What of the Merfolk?"
Kjato Ragfoot: We also met with the merfolk, who gave us this gift (Bjornalf will present the pearls and corals).
Smon: brb
Kjato Ragfoot: I believe Selentine might prosper from regular training with the merfolk. I believe setting up a market at the statue of Neptune Poseidon on the Island of Ogiangi would benefit merfolk and Selantine equally.
Kjato Ragfoot: That place is sacred to both parties, and thus should ensure a safe place for both.
Smon: back
Smon: Lord Vex listens and nods. "A good plan."
Smon: (are you telling him the merfolk's news? If you remember it.)
Kjato Ragfoot: The merfolk also told us the Citadel of Water is spoiled, thus allowing dark inhabitants of the sea to raid the land.
chris107:
Kjato Ragfoot: There was one raid just recently, where the merrowfolk captured several humans and razed a town.
chris107: Hakeem looks fierce at this news.
Smon: Lord Vex looks at the pearls and corals. "Very nice - Lord Reynard, Hakeem, for your work last night, share these..." he hands the treasure off to Jana, who presents it to Hakeem.
Smon: "Do you know which town, Bjornalf?"
Amalric: (how much?)
Smon: 205gp each.
Kjato Ragfoot: I wasn't familiar with the name, but I am sure one of the local sailors recognized it.
chris107: "A fine gift! You have my thanks" Hakeem looks v happy and shares them with his friends
Kjato Ragfoot: (Uh. You forget my part - Vex did not get the whole treasure, but just a share.)
Smon: Vex nods. "I'll ask Happy. Meanwhile Bjornald, Eldam and I have been talking... We have a gift for you, a ship that is currently named Tsamar's Jewel - I expect you'll want it renamed. By all accounts the swiftest in these waters." He grins.
Smon: (105gp then)
chris107: very nice Kjato!
Smon: (You look a bit mean now he just gave you a 20,000gp ship though)
Kjato Ragfoot: Well, I would still like to keep one of the corals.
Amalric: he wants his cake and to eat it
Kjato Ragfoot: Oh. A ship. For me?
Kjato Ragfoot: Bjornalf seems slightly flabbergasted
Smon: Happy is summoned from the Redeye Inn, and confirms the town was Lygol, on the coast of Yusan's domain.
Smon: Lord Vex: "Aye. Those big Antillian ships are too much for me, Bjornalf - I prefer captaining a galley."
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 66,
Smon: Chelarre nods. "When war with Yusan comes, Bjornalf, I hope you will aid us."
Kjato Ragfoot: In that case, the ship should be named "Vex Gratitude"
Kjato Ragfoot: I will consider it. Yusan is in league with dark sea-folk, that alone marks him an enemy.
Kjato Ragfoot: And fighting on your side against such a traitor would be an honour.
chris107: @ GM - What is Hak's view of Yusan? he's a sword knight of Bondar aftyer all..
Smon: Lord Vex grins: "A good name! Yusan, aye..." He yawns. "Late night... Lord Eldam and his cousin will be staying with us awhile, as Lucretia recovers from her captivity. Other matters... Hakeem, Malenn, how goes your dungeon-delving? What secrets have you uncovered now?"
chris107: Hakemm tells of the deep caverns below the temple of Death
Smon: GM: Yusan was exiled from his tribe for foul deeds, rumoured to include the rape and murder of his clan's Defender (psychic Altanian girls who use their powers to defend the tribe, and are considered holy) and built up a gang of renegades & murderers into a powerful fighting force.
chris107: of the great battle with Grastic
chris107: and of the esoteric Ontussa
chris107: (Thanks Simon, so in short he would have no trouble taking his head? )
chris107: He tells of what he has leaned that ancient kings may be interred there and of his plans to smash all the works of Thanatos.
Smon: (Well he *is* a Sword Knight of Bondor - being a murdering scumbag doesn't change that)
chris107: (Hehe )
chris107: (Maybe if Hakeem finishes him off it will make room in the ranks?)
Smon: Lord Hytirus, Jana, Chelarre, Eldam & co all listen in fascinating at Hakeem's tale, the women gasping at news of the legendary Sphinx.
chris107: Hak gestures to Of if he is present.
Smon: Hytirus: "Who knows what ancient wisdom she may hold?" Chelarre: "Or what terrible fate awaits those who fail her tests..."
chris107: "This clever fellow even outfoxed her!" He tells of the riddle contest.
chris107: Os
Smon: Osgar steps forward and receives Hytirus' thanks.
chris107: Hak tells of her huge claws and fierce teeth.
Smon: Eldam grins: "It seems we have all been busy!"
chris107: Doing horrid impressions
Smon: The hall sits enthralled for an hour at Hakeem's epic account.
Smon: Happy: "Tis one for the history books!"
chris107: The barbarian grinns, snuggling up to malenn at the end of his story and drinking deeply of Lord V's wine
Smon: Hytirus: "If you need any equipment for your delves - rope, lanterns, grappling irons - you need only ask, Hakeem."
Amalric: Rey has nipped home for a quickie and appears back just as Hakeem's tale ends
Smon: LOL
chris107:
chris107: "You have my thanks again."
Smon: Hytirus smiles at Malenn too, she smiles back proudly, hugging Hakeem close.
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 66,
Amalric: wandering monster?
Smon: Heh. As the tale reaches its crescendo with the battle last night, Bondor sends lightning, the thunder rattling the window-panes of the Hall.
Smon: (weather check)
chris107: Excellent!
Smon: Hakeem has Inspiration again (so does Bjornalf - don't think he's used his)
Kjato Ragfoot: Well, I hardly rolled.
Smon: (Hakeem will be SOOL in the Dry Season though)
Kjato Ragfoot: So I still have it.
chris107: Hak grasps his silver pendant in thanks to the Sword God "I shall conquor evn death for you Bondor!" he swears.
Smon: Lord Vex has the serving-slaves bring in a feast, you all dine richly of his hall.
Smon: Rey Hakeem & Bjornalf have a chance to get together and make further plans.
chris107: (If hak wasn't as dumb as a stump he would be thinking about a symbolic union of Mitra and Bondar...)
chris107: (Already thinking about my character for your next campaign there Simon )
Smon: heh
Kjato Ragfoot: (Well, there are plenty other characters around who could suggest such a thing.)
chris107: Hak is eager to go back to back to Thracia but the pickings seem much richer below the shrine...
chris107: (In other words so long as there's stuff to kill I'm happy)
Amalric: (dont get ahead of yourself, Chris, you may need him for THIS campaign )
Smon: (OOC - and I'm adding treasure to Thracia, the review I read noted it's a bit of a wasteland!)
chris107: (That wouldn't surprise me. Though at 5th Hakeem becomes very tough)
Smon: (but you did get a +1 war pick from Macreus I think you forgot about)
Kjato Ragfoot: I am fine with plundering whereever there is plunder to be found.
Kjato Ragfoot: (I remembered it but have no idea who got it)
chris107: (Not forgotten. Hak will only ever use swords. Magic means little to him)
Smon: (well you can sell stuff too!)
chris107: (He's a true barbarian)
Kjato Ragfoot: (Bjornalf does not mind using a warpick, if nobody else wants it)
Kjato Ragfoot: (And he definitely does not mind magic)
chris107: (Fill your boots Kjato )
Smon: Rey can't use it so Bjornalf would be a good choice.
Smon: It's as good as a sword, it just looks weird.
chris107: OOC - Simon, my map is a bit off a mess. In the big cavern on lvl 2 is there another bridge heading West?
Smon: GM: During the feast, Rey notices Eldam of Rallu trying to get his attention.
Kjato Ragfoot: Oh. wait. Bjornalf can only use simple weapons.
Smon: OOC no
Smon: @Kjato
chris107: OOC - Thanks
Smon: The river runs east to west with banks n & s west of bridge
chris107: What about Ath's new character?
Smon: Yeah, he could use it instead of falchion
chris107: And what happened to Tor's magical stuff?
Kjato Ragfoot: Hmm. What about Malenn? She should be able to use it and could definitely need a magic weapon?
Amalric: Rey makes a mental note to quietly have a word with Eldam when he gets the chance
Smon: Tor's stuff got buried with him for future adventurers to loot.
Smon: Malenn needs a finesse weapon, ie her rapier
Smon: She's a bit crap w str weapons.
Smon: Would be ATT+3 dam 1d8 w the pick
chris107: Don't you think Malenn has enough huge weapons to handle right now?!
Smon: 1d8+2 sorry
Smon: She's att +5 dam 1d8+4 w rapier
chris107: Os then?
Kjato Ragfoot: Hmm. Then we should ask Ath if he wants the pick for his character and otherwise sell it.
Smon: You can gift it to Os, I'll put it on his sheet for now.
chris107: Make up a bit for Tor getting killed while saving our collective bacon.
chris107: Cool
7:52pm 2015-4-24 prespos Has entered the room
chris107: (A little guilt lifts from my shoulders...)
Amalric: hey Jonh
chris107: John!
prespos:
Kjato Ragfoot: OK. Where are there rumours about magical daggers, rapiers and swords?
chris107: We just killed Pirates
Amalric: I have the magic dagger, I just need the magic rapier
Smon: (With the help of 50 Marines & a 9th level Wizard)
chris107: "Bah! magic!" (I'll eat those words when the +5 great sword turns up)
Smon: Yusan is rumoured to wield a mighty sorcerous Greatsword.
Smon: (Maxes at +3 in 5e BTW)
Smon: (Bit like B/X)
chris107: That's where we should go then. Hakeem will kill him and take his sword. It's what Bondor would want.
Smon: Some say it's the weapon that Bondor used to overthrow the Dragon Lords, that it renders Yusan invincible...
Smon:
chris107: (+3 is fine Simon )
chris107: So where for now boys?
Kjato Ragfoot: In that case, we should steal the sword first and slay Yusan afterwards.
Smon: /roll d20+1
Smon rolls 1d20+1 and gets: 1313, (+1) = 14
Amalric: sounds like a plan
chris107: Island hopping for pirate treasure, ruins of ancient Thracia or tomb delving?
chris107: Or Yusan stealing/slaying
Amalric: tomb?
Kjato Ragfoot: I am in favour of tomb delving. We know that there is treasure down there and we won't have to feed a crew of sailors.
Kjato Ragfoot: Also, I am rather bankrupt right now - I have like 20 gp left.
chris107: Cool. I don't have a map for that so I'll follow your lead
Smon: (Bjornalf gave away all his mer-loot after all?)
Amalric: maps? who uses maps?
chris107: Hakeem gives what ever treasure (from the coral 'n stuff) he has left back to Bjornalf
Smon: Going next morning?
Kjato Ragfoot: Well. He was so flabbergasted about getting a ship he completely forgot to complain.
Smon: (Vex just took whatever was in the bag Bjornalf presented then gave it to Rey & Hakeem)
chris107: Hakeem will do his best to drink the lions share that evening first of course
chris107:
Kjato Ragfoot: Once we found some treasure, we can turn that into trading goods with the merfolk to establish that trade route.
chris107: Then a hearty breakfast and go kill things and take their stuff.
Kjato Ragfoot: I completely agree with Hakeems proposal.
chris107: "TRADE?!" Hakeem looks offended that his treasure will be wasted.
Smon: That evening late in the feast Rey returns from answering a call of nature (or getting in another quickie) when he is buttonoled by Eldam Alamsor.
chris107: "Can we hear the lamentation of dead trades women?!"
Smon: "Lord Mercellin? May I have a word?"
Kjato Ragfoot: Probably, I would prefer hearing other sounds from living trade women though!
chris107: Hak looks dissapointed. Lamentation is his thing
chris107: disappointed even
Smon: (ooc who can play tomorrow? Would it work to start a delve tonight & continue tomorrow?)
chris107: I'm game for the morning.
Kjato Ragfoot: Well, it is a Saturday tomorrow and have not yet planned anything else.
chris107: snooker in the afternoon though.
Kjato Ragfoot: My book and videos won't mind waiting a little longer.
Smon: (was thinking 9.30am as usual.)
chris107: (I bought the third Hobbit filem on DVD today, looking forward to watching it some time )
Smon: @Graham you there?
Amalric: sorry. yes
chris107: Perfect time for me Simon.
Amalric: was just watchng the end of American Hustle, hadn't seen it before
Smon: >>Smon: That evening late in the feast Rey returns from answering a call of nature (or getting in another quickie) when he is buttonoled by Eldam Alamsor. chris107: "Can we hear the lamentation of dead trades women?!" Smon: "Lord Mercellin? May I have a word?"<<
chris107: (And will keep me sober ready for snooker for a change )
Amalric: yes
Amalric: (not sure about tomorrow morning, but the wife might have plans for me!)
Smon: Eldam speaks with Rey in a corner of the hall. "Jana Vex... she is quite beautiful, yes? You know her well?"
Amalric: "Lord Alamsor! Miss Vex is quite striking, undoubtedly. I wouldn't say I know her well..."
Amalric: "But we have done some adventuring together."
Amalric: "She seems a fine young woman."
Smon: Eldam nods. "Bjornalf and Priestess Chelarre noted that was unmarried, that Lord Vex might be seeking a husband for her... Is there anything I should know?"
chris107: (Steady Graham!)
Kjato Ragfoot: (She truly likes the magical bathroom?)
Smon: "I had the feeling that you might be the one to ask."
chris107:
chris107: (This should be interesting....)
Smon: Is that a pink cat farting rainbows?
Kjato Ragfoot: (Chris: What the hell is that emoticon to symbolize?)
chris107: I don't know it just looks jolly
chris107: (Blame the wine)
Smon: brb tea...
Kjato Ragfoot: "In vinum, veritas"
chris107: More wine then
Smon: back
Smon: >>Eldam nods. "Bjornalf and Priestess Chelarre noted that was unmarried, that Lord Vex might be seeking a husband for her... Is there anything I should know?"<<
Smon: Rey seems distracted.
chris107: back
Smon: If Graham is afk I think prob best end there for now & resume 9.30am tomorrow with Bjornalf, Hakeem & Malenn heading for the Crypts of Ulther.
Amalric: sorry kids just came back in
chris107: Dick the Butcher would tell a great tale right now
Amalric: i'm here
Smon: Do you want to ask Kogor of Kolda along?
Smon: (I'll believe you're here when you post IC)
chris107: OOC He's a tough cookie right enough
Amalric: LOL
Amalric: both for Chris & the GM
chris107: OOC Guess it depends how close to 5th we all are?
Smon: I think Hakeem & Rey will hit 5th for next session
Smon: Not sure about Bjornalf.
Amalric: "Lord Vex is an honourable man, and Miss Vex is a Priest of Mitra...what more can I say?"
chris107:
Amalric: (typing one-handed is not a proficiency)
Amalric: (of mine)
chris107:
chris107: You surprise me Graham
Smon: (Bjornalf still 1600 off) Steady there chris!
Amalric: HAHAHA
Amalric: thats twice you've made me LOL tonight!
chris107: It's my job
Amalric: (have one arm around my youngest who's cold, been out all evening and she's freezing, it was pouring rain!)
Smon: Pour thing.
chris107:
Smon: (not deliberate typo)
Amalric: Dick lived too short a life, it has to be said
chris107: So often the case at our age
Smon: Most PCs IMCs live too short a life.
Amalric: what does Rey know of Eldam anyway?
Smon: I was aghast when I thought I was about to TPK you a few sessions back with the Thanatos chapel.
chris107: (Yeah that was too close by half!)
Amalric: yes that was closer than I thought it would be
Smon: GM: Eldam is apparently a noble merchant prince of Rallu and the cousin of Lady Lucretia.
Kjato Ragfoot: Indeed, that was a tough fight.
Amalric: well....
Amalric: "A union between your people and ours would be a good match."
Amalric: "Strength in unity."
Smon: It was the CON saves vs sleep nearly wiped you... then Hakeem miraculously survived 3 rounds of a wight chewing on him.
Amalric: "And she's a looker alright, easy on the eye and on the arm!"
chris107: -14/21 (35!)
Amalric: "You know I am one of Lord Vex's men, so I would not dare touch her. None would."
Smon: Eldam nods. "Indeed. Miss Vex is quite attractive, her assets... and a noble priestess of Mitra, to boot. Yet she does not interest you?"
Amalric: "They would never live to tell the tale."
Smon: "Hm... "
chris107:
Smon: "Lord Vex is jealous?"
Amalric: (Lance is dead, for one thing! Even if Rey does not know that)
chris107:
Amalric: "He only wishes a good match for his sister, as he should."
Amalric: "A noble's child, marrying a common soldier? It would never do."
Amalric: "Likely Lord Vex made a promise to his father."
Smon: ok, technically not quite lying so I'll allow Persuasion...
Smon: /roll d20+6
Smon rolls 1d20+6 and gets: 1111, (+6) = 17
Amalric: LYING?!?!? Rey is a gentleman!!
Smon:
Amalric: (false gentleman, but the spirit is there)
Smon: Eldam nods. Then pauses. "A common soldier? But you are a scion of noble House Mercellin. Everyone says so."
Amalric: (smartarse)
Smon: Eldam glances towards the main throng, Jana drinking beside her brother and chatting with Lady Lucretia.
chris107:
Amalric: "Oh, I did not mean myself, I meant anyone else around here."
Amalric: "Miss Vex would make a fine match, it is true. But..."
Smon: "Mercellin, the shining star of Antil... Indeed." He looks at Rey, and winks broadly.
Amalric: "I promised myself...to my childhood sweetheart. One day I shall return to my homeland, and make good on my promise."
prespos: Lucretia: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IuezNswtRfo
chris107: (I think Rey has been captured!)
Amalric: (do like that song, John! remember it from back in the day)
chris107: (John has a song for every occassion )
prespos: (always)
Smon: Eldam nods again. "Your childhood sweetheart, I see. In the meantime you must confine yourself to common slave girls - and it has to be said, you have amassed a fine collection!"
Smon: (Playing song now)
Amalric: "Well, one does what one can. And thankyou! I see you are a connoiseur yourself, to recognise such fine items?!"
Kjato Ragfoot: (Hmm. Is Vex already married? If not, he could marry Lucretia in return)
Amalric: "Tell me, do you have many slaves yourself?"
Amalric: (DON'T SWEAR AT ME, KJATO! MARRIAGE?!??!?!?!?)
Amalric:
Smon: Lord Vex is unmarried, he seems taken with Chelarre Foxwood the priestess.
chris107: ( )
Smon: Eldam nods. "Aye, as a noble of Rallu it would hardly be seemly not to... But I have to say, your women, and the girls of Selatine, surpass even the beauties of Rallu."
Amalric: and actually I totally read 'Vex' as 'Rey'
Amalric: panic over
Smon: LOL
chris107:
Amalric: "Oh, I doubt that. They are perhaps merely...different. The women of Rallu are fine indeed, I imagine."
Smon: Eldam: "One could make a fortune exporting such women... But the slave trade is always a grubby business."
Amalric: (isn't Cirella from Rallu? You'll forgive me for not checking my char sheet with my 7-yo next to me )
Smon: Eldam nods, gesturing at the handmaid Alli with his goblet. "Fine enough."
Smon: Cirella is from Rallu, yup.
Smon: (No Daily Star in the Amalric household then)
Amalric: "I quite agree. My slaves were all purchased and rescued from terrible fates."
chris107:
Amalric: "Otherwise I would have no dealing in the business."
chris107: (Frying pan to fire springs to mind....)
Amalric: (no papers here. I read the Guardian at work )
chris107: (I meant the rescue stuff )
Amalric: (oh quite, all nonsense. Rey would totally be interested in the slave business )
Smon: Eldam nods. "Glad to hear it. You seem a chivalrous sort. I hear, by the by, there is a new religion that preaches the immorality of slavery - Mycretianism, I think they call it. Perhaps one day there will be no slaves, no masters... " he sighs. "It's getting late, forgive me."
chris107:
Amalric: growth market, always popular, dont have to look far for commodity
Smon: LOL
Amalric: "Oh? That is interesting. Seems like an ideal though, quite removed from the harsh times in which we live."
Amalric: "We can but try to live the best we can, and do our best for others."
Amalric: (Rey thinks, "What a lot of crapola!")
Kjato Ragfoot: (I should found a religion that requires man to have as many woman as they can, but to pay 1 gold for each to the cult. If I get Rey as follower, I won't ever need to work again)
Smon: Eldam nods. "Aye. Well, I think I'll be staying in Selatine a little while. It seems a fine place, and I've been a long time at sea. And Miss Vex is most charming, of course."
chris107: Hakeem wanders off with Malenn at this point. Until the slaying starts at least.
Smon: Hakeem takes a happy Malenn to bed for a second night of rumpy pumpy ahead of the next day's slaying.
chris107: (His CG alignment been none too keen on slavery. Hence his freeing of the fine filly )
Amalric: "Excellent news. I look forward to seeing you around here, then. I hope you find Miss Vex...most welcoming."
Kjato Ragfoot: (Their daughter would be Halenn then?)
chris107: (Oh I like that Kjato!)
Amalric: (Rey is mightily relieved he didnt tap Jana in the showers a couple of days back )
chris107: (Or Marleen... no)
Smon: Best thing Rey never did!
Kjato Ragfoot: (And there son Makeen?)
Kjato Ragfoot: (their son)
chris107: (I can work with either Kjato )
Kjato Ragfoot: (Then get twins: Makeen and Halenn)
Smon: Eldam bids Rey goodnight and retires. It's late at night and the hall is starting to clear when the Lady Lucretia approaches Bjornalf.
Kjato Ragfoot: Mylady?
Smon: Lucretia: "I... I hear I have you to thank for my liberation. That you trusted my cousin and sent him here."
chris107: Hakeem works hard to produce twins this night (as he has inspiration from Bondor )
Smon: /roll 1d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 22,
Smon: /roll 1d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 33,
Smon: Doesn't look like Mitra wants Malenn getting pregnant just yet.
Smon: (gave you 2 rolls for Inspiration)
chris107: hehe well worth the spending of the inspiration though
Kjato Ragfoot: Well, he was a wonderful host and told me about his lost relative - what else was I supposed to do?
Kjato Ragfoot: I am happy you two were reunited that quickly.
Smon: Lucretia nods. "I... I wish I could reward you, but the pirates caroused away the treasures I had... except my handmaid. She.... would she be of any interest to you?"
Amalric: (No! But I know a man who would be interested! says Kjato )
Smon: ooc I'm wondering what Bjornalf's ideal maid looks like.
Smon: (how many maid NPCs can there be?)
Amalric: (like Mary Berry, I'm guessing, given his liking for soup!)
Kjato Ragfoot: (Like this: http://www.xibar.net/photo/art/default/5013331-7485637.jpg)
chris107: Alas page not found
Amalric: same here
Smon: Yum.
Kjato Ragfoot: http://www.xibar.net/photo/art/default/5013331-7485637.jpg
Smon: I copy/pasted.
Amalric: OH HELLO
chris107: That's Mary Berry?!
chris107:
chris107: I think I've eaten her Muffins.
Smon: Not a common look for the Wilderlands but I expect if you ever got to loot Oriax's Harem she'd be in there somewhere.
Amalric: not last time I watched Bakeoff it wasnt
Kjato Ragfoot: Well, Bjornalf was never one for common looks.
Smon: What was Bjornalf's IC response to Lucretia?
Amalric: looting Oriax's harem would be something one would do carefully
Amalric: VERY carefully
Kjato Ragfoot: Miss Lucretia, that would be a wonderful gift - but won't you need your handmaiden for your stay and the journey back?
chris107: Oriax must die... mumbles hakeem in his sleep
Amalric: "Me, Lord Reynard Mercellin, here, in the bosom of the wizard Oriax's harem? Has no-one considered the consequences?"
Smon: Lucretia smiles slightly. "I can survive without... And she is all I have to give."
Amalric: such a shame Bjornalf will have to settle for...that
Smon: Heart weeps,
Smon: for B
chris107: So tomb raiding at 0930?
Smon: yup.
Kjato Ragfoot: If you insist, I will gladly take her then.
chris107: Alarm set
Smon: Lucretia smiles happily. "I will send her to you in the morning. Thank you again, and goodnight."
Smon: OOC stop there
Kjato Ragfoot: Goodnight, Lady Lucretia.
Kjato Ragfoot: All right.
Amalric: sure. i should be okay for the morning, but will see
Smon: GM: I'll start tomorrow with you leaving Selatine I think, get right into the action.
Smon: We'll play with whoever can make it.
Kjato Ragfoot: I should be able to make it.
Smon: I'll post log now, may be tomorrow to calc xp but looks like Rey & Hakeem are up.
Smon: as it were.
