Sandor Sunneson: Hi Chris, welcome to SBWorld
joriandrake: seems like you all got back in one peace
joriandrake: piece
Smon: Hi all
Sandor Sunneson: yes, that is correct
joriandrake: hi
chris107: Evening Simon
chris107: I've updated the map to show the approx locations within the main cavern. Not to scale obvs.
chris107: I'll post it onto DF now.
Sandor Sunneson: Cool, is it on DF?
Smon: Morning sesh http://smons.blogspot.com/2018/07/21648-awakening-scouting-river-1500-xp.html
chris107: just putting it up.
6:00pm 2018-7-14 DESTROYERBILL Has entered the room
DESTROYERBILL: hello
joriandrake: hi Bill
joriandrake: did prisha b ack in town have time to replace/reset spells?
Sandor Sunneson: Evening Bill
Sandor Sunneson: Just had dinne, all good
Smon: Prisha can redo spells - has had a LR
DESTROYERBILL: we havent yet
chris107: Posted. Slight hitch with computer. On the phone for a few minutes
chris107: Good evening Bill
DESTROYERBILL: evening
chris107: May have to resign in on another server
chris107: But will try on here until Kyle can sort it out
chris107: Just restarting computer
Sandor Sunneson: Been a scorcher of a day here
Smon: GM: OK so the 3 adventurers got home to Ahyf late and spend most of the night on epic bowel movements as the cheese works it way through their systems.
Smon: Prisha has completed a LR, has a new spell loadout.
Smon: The elf spy Clenderi is not at all keen to go back down there, having already died once and seeing it as a suicide run.
Sandor Sunneson: Sandor is close to L15 now
chris107: âDonât blame you.â Whispers Moffet to Clenderi
Sandor Sunneson: Sandor believes that the ceremony will probably occur over the next few days
Smon: Harlgrimm the Altanian is stoical, he probably doesn't give much for his chances but is willing to bodyguard Prisha.
DESTROYERBILL: we could get my body guard
chris107: âIâll look after you too, Mrs. Prisha.â
DESTROYERBILL: instead of halgrim #
Sandor Sunneson: So what way we looking at enterning? The way we went in the first time and then turn left ???
Smon: From Maglor's researches into Maugraign's Hall at the request of Queen Malenn, it appears to Maglor that there are likely extensive caverns beneath the great cavern.
Sandor Sunneson: rather than go straight on to the big cavern?
chris107: âI fear they will be watching the way we went in earlier.â
Smon: >>âDonât blame you.â Whispers Moffet to Clenderi<<
Clenderi nods: "Thank you."
Sandor Sunneson: So back to the river and find another route?
chris107: âAnd I wouldnât want them raining rocks down on us as we climb up. I think the way we went first then past the monster Lauraâs is our best bet.
Smon: OOC Chris are you on your phone?
Sandor Sunneson: lol
chris107: Switching back to computer in about 10 seconds
joriandrake: (spell list updated, Prisha is now even less fight-oriented, took healing and Lesser Restoration spells plus Detect magic as it is a ritual)
Smon: GM: Shieldbiter recruits mighty Steelclaw, his dragonborn deputy, to replace Harlgrimm as backup.
chris107: I think I'm back?
DESTROYERBILL: youre back
chris107: Thank heavens
6:16pm 2018-7-14 Sandor Sunneson Has exited the room
Smon: Steelclaw commander of the Dragon Guard https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtCr6ItmwMjaL2mNhdNSY97XzYSlwbdy77e2kRX4tEcIRaDoIMG83OyatWFXX57bJt9vnvQyIauxOExTo0rfjpFWeHGdsl1bIm2AeYSyaRHGi3xGWPhmVSyIte30sp42X9li9XpdTn94w/s320/73975718b56d537b01f11cee714e9158.jpg with mighty greataxe.
DESTROYERBILL: steelclaw is alot stronger than halgrim
chris107: Terible lag this end
joriandrake: (what happened to harlgrim?)
joriandrake: (will he fully get replaced or just act as bodyguard?)
DESTROYERBILL: nothing stell claw is just a lot better
Smon: The Queen gives him permission to stay uptop now Prisha has Steelclaw to protect her precious hide.
DESTROYERBILL: fully replaced due to night vision goggle restrictions
joriandrake: ok
DESTROYERBILL: stell claw to halgrim is prisha to me
joriandrake: Prisha thanks Harlgrim for his aid and service to the group and greets Steelclaw
DESTROYERBILL: other way rouend
Smon: 22/6/48 The 5 of you assemble once more, now with 2 canoes.
Smon: GM: Do you have a plan?
chris107: Follow Bill, he's got all the muscle
DESTROYERBILL: do the same as last time
joriandrake: Prisha looks at Moffat with his map
chris107: Are you sure?
DESTROYERBILL: im 11 shield biter has all the muscel
chris107: If the dwarves are waiting for us the climb will not be so simple..
DESTROYERBILL: or we could go in the other entrance
chris107: and steel claw
DESTROYERBILL: they will expect us from the same place as last time so we go a diffrant place
chris107: What about past the high elevation monster lairs?
DESTROYERBILL: each entrance has a camp of 200 at them
chris107: are we sure of that?
chris107: 400 in total?
Smon: Steelclaw & SB http://smons.blogspot.com/2016/03/gold-dragonborn-barbarian.html
DESTROYERBILL: 100 duagar we think
DESTROYERBILL: 1000 duagar
chris107: eek
6:23pm 2018-7-14 Sandor Sunneson Has entered the room
chris107: Well it sounds like Shieldbiter is well clued up so lets follow him.
joriandrake: "We could perhaps ask for the Queen to start a distraction, might not even need to be an attack, from the route we took the first time"
Sandor Sunneson: pc froze, relogged back on
joriandrake: "Perhaps a patrol just wandering close enough to them would be enough to keep their distance from the other route we would actually take"
chris107: (Mine did too Fergus!)
joriandrake: "The duergar obviously know someone targets them, so a patrol should gain their attention and lessen the same on us?" Prisha asks, wondering if her idea has a positive reaction
chris107: Moffet feels very small in the presence of all these great folk.
Sandor Sunneson: Have we left tAyhyf?
joriandrake: (no, we discuss plans)
Sandor Sunneson: cool
joriandrake: ( you just mised Prisha's first plan part: > joriandrake: "We could perhaps ask for the Queen to start a distraction, might not even need to be an attack, from the route we took the first time" 6:23pm 2018-7-14 Sandor Sunneson Has entered the room)
Smon: GM: Sandor and SB glimpsed three main duergar warcamps in the great cavern, the westernmost one is the one nearest both the w and n entrances; another to the SE near stairs up the south wall to a ledge, and a third camp a good way further east near the ancient dwarf-hall and temple frontages in the n and e walls of the cavern.
joriandrake: (and then the rest yo ushould've already seen)
Sandor Sunneson: The Duerrger as an army are not the strongest,
chris107: "Well we have three options as far as my eyes can see."
chris107: Ah, that's new information tome. I'll mark it on the map.
joriandrake: "They aren't?" Prisha reacts to Sandor's comment then turns to Moffat
chris107: "Not for these mighty warriors, mrs. Prisha but they would be the death of us."
Sandor Sunneson: On an individual basis, it's their natural environment that makes them tough with the arrows,
Smon: Queen Malenn: "It seems the duergar army have a defensive posture, possibly focused on guarding the great cavern against intruders.
joriandrake: "They still outnumber us" Prisha ponders while observing the new marks on the map. "Sadly we have no one like a druid to turn their own natural environment against them" She says as answer to Sandor then listens to the Queen "Their current objective must be the ritual, thus the defensive stance"
Sandor Sunneson: At somepoint they will be moving though
Sandor Sunneson: they are certainly planning for something
chris107: (Is there a fourth, northerly entrance not marked on my map I wonder then?)
joriandrake: (if not, perhaps we could make one?)
Smon: "You have twice driven them from their walls, so I expect they will be cautious when beyond the great cave, where they have many archers and warbeasts, and can focus their strength."
Smon: >>"Their current objective must be the ritual, thus the defensive stance"<< Malenn nods agreement.
chris107: Moffet still thinks we should explore down the narrow high passage for a different entrance, probably close to the dwarf halls.)
Sandor Sunneson: Sounds like a good idea Moffet
Smon: Malenn nods to Moffet. "You are the most experienced tunnel fighter here, by all accounts."
Smon: GM: OK so that is the plan?
chris107: Providing we are assuming that the ritual will take place in either the Dwarf Halls or Temple?
joriandrake: "The more we prod them, the more likely they lose their composure ... and ignore orders and formations. Getting to them from another, new route would probably unnerve them"
DESTROYERBILL: yeah but we need to find one
chris107: (Sorry if my replies look disjointed guys, terrible lag this end)
Smon: Malenn: "Most likely the Temple I would guess... but the artifacts for its completion could be found elsewhere."
joriandrake: (I lagged last time, I doN't lag atm)
Sandor Sunneson: I would agree your majesty
chris107: "Aye, you'd not keep all your eggs in one basket as my old dad used to say."
joriandrake: "I should be able to locate the ritual objects from 1000 feet or closer" Prisha adds
Smon: Malenn looks to Prisha. "Do you have any magic that could help the group move unseen?"
chris107: "A shame we can't draw their forces away while we search the temple and hall.."
joriandrake: "I can hid us from scrying, divination magic by a spell called Nondetection, but I can't cast actual invisibility like wizards"
chris107: "Perhaps the mighty heroes could make a stand on one of the walls and draw them towards them for a monumental battle while Mrs. Prisha and I slip in..."
joriandrake: "However... perhaps using invisibility potions in combination with Nondetection?" She wonders
Smon: >>"I should be able to locate the ritual objects from 1000 feet or closer"<< Malenn nods: "If you can discover what they are - the prisoner does not know."
Smon: /roll d20
Smon rolls 1d20 and gets: 12,
chris107: "Could you detect the poor girl who is to be sacrificed?"
DESTROYERBILL: we would need more that 3 fighters for that
joriandrake: "Indeed it is risky, there is a chance to suceed but the more I know the description or the actual name of the artifacts the more likely success becomes"
Smon: No pile of invis potions lying around in Ahyf.
chris107: "Not more than three of your prowess, surely?"
DESTROYERBILL: we need 5
chris107: "I saw you and prince Sandor sweep nearly thirty of them aside without taking hardly a wound."
joriandrake: "Hm, no sadly the girl doesn't count as an 'object' and once again, such detection of the living might be easier for a druid" Prisha replies to moffat
DESTROYERBILL: are there any high level druids laying arouend
joriandrake: "Well, I can also make someone good at sneaking even better at it"
chris107: "Well if you aren't up to the kob. I suppose I had better stand on the wall and fight while you lot slip in?"
DESTROYERBILL: ha ha ha
Smon: Malenn nods. "The girl is held by Khand, leader of the duergar. Probably in the easternmost of their camps, from what the captive says ...You should go now."
joriandrake: "increase reaction time and agility, although it uses the same amount of power as a decent healing spell"
DESTROYERBILL: yeah not funney
Sandor Sunneson: there is the druid Enson
chris107: "Maybe that brave Mr. Harlgrimn would stand with me?"
Smon: >>"Well, I can also make someone good at sneaking even better at it"<< Sounds hopeful
DESTROYERBILL: he aint coming rember
joriandrake: "Khand... I wish we had something on him to use, but as far iknow we don't have any information on that man"
Smon: Steelclaw: "I am coming... but I cannot sneak well in this heavy armour."
DESTROYERBILL: i know he eats hobbits for dinner breakfest and lunch
joriandrake: "Moffat? Probably him and our scout we returned to the living last time are the stealthiest among us.""
chris107: "Well I'm ready to go whenever you grand folks is ready. There's no point in putting off what must be done. That's what my old dad reckoned. And that's what we did."
DESTROYERBILL: youre job is kill moffats job is sneak and scout and kill if possible
Smon: GM: Queen Malenn bids you farewell and has Maglor escort you to the sewer entrance to the Underdark.
chris107: Moffet waves them all a cheery good bye.
Smon: With the dragonborn carrying the canoes you can make good time heading south down the well tunneled route from Ahyf, six miles to the cave with bridge & stream.
chris107: "If I don't come back, you makes sure someone send money to my Dad's farm. Cabages don't grow on thin air you know!"

DESTROYERBILL: whoes canoe do they shoot at
joriandrake: (psst, doN't give him ideas)
Smon: As you enter the cave w stream you see a strange great grey-brown mound of animated vegetable mulch relaxing by the water's edge, tendrils in the water - a Shambling Mound!
chris107: "Lets float past quietly." Whispers M
Smon: Vaguely humanoid shaped, with a maw in its shapeless 'head', it turns as you enter, retracting the feeder tendrils.
Smon: /roll 2d6
Smon rolls 2d6 and gets: 4, 2, = 6
Smon: It raises its arms, waving them threateningly at you.
chris107: (What kind of distances are we talking please, Simon. And how deep is the water?)
joriandrake: "I hope it can't swim at us"
Sandor Sunneson: can we just canoe away from it?
Sandor Sunneson: keep away from it?
Smon: What are you doing? You just emerged from the main tunnel north. It's about 30-40' away. The stream is quite deep, maybe 8'-10'
Smon: You are on foot
chris107: "Oh then go kill it!"
Smon: With the dragonborn carrying the canoes you can make good time heading south down the well tunneled route from Ahyf, six miles to the cave with bridge & stream. As you enter the cave w stream you see a strange great grey-brown mound of animated vegetable mulch relaxing by the water's edge, tendrils in the water - a Shambling Mound! joriandrake: *the streem is quite deep 8-10 and we're on foot - Mofat do you use a snorkle?
Sandor Sunneson: Sandor will observe the mound, and get his sword out ready to fight it
Smon: The creature sees Sandor draw steel, and advances!
chris107: (We will be putting the canoes into the water once the SM is dead)
DESTROYERBILL: i get ready
Smon: roll init
joriandrake: Initiative i guess
Sandor Sunneson: Sandor will fire warbolts at it

20 (+9) = 29
12 (+9) = 21
Smon: looks like 28 dmg by Sandor

chris107: Did I hit?
DESTROYERBILL rolls 8d12+18 and gets: 10, 11, 12, 5, 7, 1, 5, 1, (+18) = 70

chris107 rolls 3d6+18 and gets: 4, 4, 1, (+18) = 27
chris107: 27 including the crit from Moffet
Smon: Steelclaw hacks at the beast, his terrible axe sending goop flying, while Moffet stabs with his little blade.
Smon: The poor Shambler wails and keels over.
joriandrake: Prisha just blinks as reaction to the sudden events
chris107: (was that 120 damage from SB in one attack?)
Smon: Steelclaw: "I hope the Kazadurgar die so easy!"
DESTROYERBILL: knew it was a good idea to not rage
Smon: (no, Steelclaw critted for 4d12 & did 70 total)
DESTROYERBILL: they die easier
joriandrake: (focused fire basically)
chris107: *The same steelclaw who was left at Trade when Hakeem slew the Dragon?)
Smon: Same Steelclaw
chris107: My he has grown in power.
DESTROYERBILL: has not changed at all
joriandrake: (probably a good axe)
Smon: Not really, he was always insanely powerful
*chris107 shrugs*
Smon: Gets 3 attacks for 2d12 wielding axe one-handed!
chris107: I guess we;re not really needed then?
joriandrake: Stay, a shield wall needs more than a dragonkin
Smon: With 114 hp & AC 21 he's not invincible
Sandor Sunneson: Plod on folks?
Sandor Sunneson: Well defeated that organic beast
DESTROYERBILL: rember to eat pink cleebas everyone
DESTROYERBILL: gives +2 armour
Smon: GM: SB distributes the pungent pink cheese.
joriandrake: "I guess this thing had nothing in it? except bones?"
Smon: Are you all eating it?
chris107: "Not after what it did to my bowles thanks Shield biter!"
DESTROYERBILL: i eat mine and steel claw eats it
Sandor Sunneson: aye
Smon: No bones, though the maw has some chitonous fibre for biting
joriandrake: Prisha politely declines, she lost appetite for a while
Smon: OK SB deduct 4 portions
Smon: 3 portions - SB SC & S
Smon: The mighty warriors take on a pink and nobbly texture
Smon: 6 hours at +2 AC followed by a massive laxative
DESTROYERBILL: not my fault if you two die by a hit on 2 ac
Smon: GM: You set the canoes down into the stream. Who is going with who?
joriandrake: I go with someone who can swim
Sandor Sunneson: Sandor is paddling
joriandrake: can Moffat swim?
chris107: yes
joriandrake: Prisha goes with Moffat, we will probably swap who's paddling
chris107: he's quite a good swimmer actually. He and Tor Caradock once got stuck in a flooding room.
Smon: Moffet & Prisha not a great combo to paddle down the raging underdark rapids
joriandrake: Well....
joriandrake: Prisha is fine with anyone else deciding on the pairing
chris107: "We thought we would drown for sure but then...whooossshhhh! all the water got out and we were swepped into a room full of ghouls!"
joriandrake: (what kind of roll would this require? I mean paddling down wish skill? dex?)
DESTROYERBILL: me and steel claw and moffet sandor and prisha
joriandrake: with
Smon: ok
Sandor Sunneson: You can come in my canoe Moffat if you want
chris107: "Thank you Prince Sandor."
joriandrake: (Bill's comment confused me, we all fit into one?)
Smon: GM: You lower in the boats and paddle downstream through the twisting underdark rapids, SB & SC in the first boat, Sandor Prisha & Moffet in the second
joriandrake: Prisha casts guidance on Sandor
DESTROYERBILL: sandor and prisha in one boat me steel claw and moffat in the other
joriandrake: Prisha will continue to cast Guidance on Sandor the whole ride long, jsut in case
Smon: 2 people in each canoe need to roll athletics. Sandor plus Moffet roll athletics if Prisha is not paddling
Smon: Prisha can cast guidance instead of paddling
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20+9 and gets: 2, (+9) = 11
chris107 rolls 1d20+6 and gets: 11, (+6) = 17
Smon: Jorian roll the guidance bonus
joriandrake: +d4
joriandrake rolls 1d4 and gets: 1,
joriandrake: 12
Sandor Sunneson: thank you
joriandrake: (I fear it was still too low)
Smon: Sandor's clumsy paddling scrapes the boat on a rock, only thanks to Prisha's guidance does it not capsize, but it is damaged.
DESTROYERBILL: i give stell claw my +3 spear so he can protect while i padle
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 5,
Sandor Sunneson: oooh
joriandrake: Prisha continues to cast it on Sandor
Smon: That was damage to Sandor's boat, it's on 5/10 hp
joriandrake: Boaty McScarface
Sandor Sunneson: lol
chris107:
DESTROYERBILL: you get +2 for scandic
Smon: Eventually the torrent joins the great north-flowing underground river and you paddle upstream.
Smon: I'm gonna give the boat 2 hp back since Sandor forgot his seamanship bonus
Smon: You paddle for a long time - 2 miles upriver, up the great subterranean canyon, until the river turns east and you see above you the remains of the fallen dwarf-bridge.
Smon: Plan is to do same as yesterday?
DESTROYERBILL: yes
chris107: We have another choice?
Smon: You could explore further upstream
joriandrake: "did you check out what is further up?"
chris107: "we did not."
chris107: The river flows westward?
joriandrake: "Well, good as time as any, if you want to see now"
Sandor Sunneson: could explore stream further? However the action with the dwarves was up
Smon: yes
joriandrake: (could still lead to the dwarves)
chris107: "Well there is a western corridor, but if the river doesn't join up then we're back to square one."
Sandor Sunneson: true, SB, what you think? follow stream?
DESTROYERBILL: lets explore further a new entrance would be great
Sandor Sunneson: cool, stream it is
joriandrake: (Prisha is slightly inclined for additional exploration but lets others decide)
chris107: Stream it is.
joriandrake: Prisha continues to cast guidance on Sandor
joriandrake: actually no, wait, she swaps over to Moffat
Smon: GM: You paddle further upstream. Only about 300' upstream to the east, you spot a second dwarven bridge crossing high above you, this one intact, though much slimmer than the last.
DESTROYERBILL: how hard to climb
joriandrake: "Rope and something to throw it with up there?"
joriandrake: (I forgot the word for it, not anvil, not anchor)
Smon: It looks as if a fairly broad ledge descends eastwards from the north end of the bridge, running out of sight east along the north canyon wall.
Sandor Sunneson: is it at approx the same heoght as the broken bridge?
Smon: Climbing - looks the same as before (DC 20 to start, DC 15 above wet zone)
Smon: Yes, about 200' up
joriandrake: (hook?)
DESTROYERBILL: lets do that then
joriandrake: ah 200 is too high i think
DESTROYERBILL: we use rope and climbing
DESTROYERBILL: we climbed the other 200 feet tall bridge
chris107: Is there somewhere to dock the bote?
Sandor Sunneson: Using his eagle vision, Sandor will have a closer look higher up to see if there is anything disticutive?
joriandrake: "Hm, Moffat can you climb using acrobatic skills?"
joriandrake: (instead athletics)
chris107: "I can try Mrs. Prisha but it's an awful long way to fall."
Smon: GM: You find a low ledge where you can come 'ashore' and haul the boats to safety. Shieldbiter auto 24s on Athletics checks - he leaps to the cliff face and clambers up it, clawed gauntlets digging into the rock. The rest of
DESTROYERBILL: we already have done this we have it all figured out
chris107: "Mr. Shieldbiter there kindly carried me last time."
joriandrake: oh
DESTROYERBILL: i can do it again
DESTROYERBILL: i can be a ferry system
chris107: "Why that's most kindly of you."
Sandor Sunneson: I would appreciate a lift up Lord SB
joriandrake: (I planned to enhance dex for Moffat and use guidance on myself, but this is better)
DESTROYERBILL: i climb up to a ledge and let the rope down
Smon: Moffet can ride on SB's back; the rest of you wait below while SB gets to about 100' and finds a good spot to let the rope down and haul you up to the mid point; one at a time is safest - SB could haul you all at once but the knots in the rope might give out.
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 3,
joriandrake: I guess SB could jsut taxi us all one by one then
DESTROYERBILL: just tye the rope to yourself and ill pull you up
Sandor Sunneson: do 2 journeys
joriandrake: "What about the canoes?"
chris107: Secure them as we did last time
DESTROYERBILL: one at a time we can do more if we have more people
joriandrake: (If we can secure them here that is fine)
Smon: GM: Unmolested by lurking cavern predators, SB gets you all onto a dry ledge 100' above the river, then climbs up again about 90' to a broad ledge that winds up west to the north end of the arching bridge, down to the south.
joriandrake: Prisha casts guidance on herself now
Smon: >>Smon: GM: You find a low ledge where you can come 'ashore' and haul the boats to safety.<< The boats are on a ledge just above water level.
DESTROYERBILL: i let down the rope and pull sandor up first
joriandrake: (ok low ledge and ''around ashore got me uncertain on situ)
Sandor Sunneson: Thank you, Sandor will climb up rope and stand guard as others are pulled up
joriandrake: "Well, hopefully nothing attacks us now on the ledge while the warriors are up there"
DESTROYERBILL: dont guard help me pull them up
Smon: Eventually you all assemble on the upper ledge, about 50' east of the arched dwarven bridge; it appears to 'grow' from the living rock.
Sandor Sunneson: Ok, Sandor will help pull others u[p
joriandrake: "Fascinating, do you think this method of architecture could be reproduced?"
Smon: SB roll a DC 11 CON save
DESTROYERBILL rolls 1d20+10 and gets: 11, (+10) = 21
Smon: SB feels fresh as a daisy
Smon: GM: From here you can go up/west 50' to the north end of the bridge, or follow the ledge down/east along the north side of the canyon wall.
joriandrake: Prisha waits a bit and asks Moffat to update his map
joriandrake: "Lets try to locate our position on map now"
chris107: updated
joriandrake: The girl nods and lets the others decice which way to go from here
chris107: Moffet will scout upwards along the ledge to the north end of the bridge and see what's there.
chris107: (hopefully a passageway north)
Smon: It looks as if the south end of the bridge connects to a tunnel heading south, away from Maugraign's Hall.
joriandrake: Prisha casts guidance on Moffat
joriandrake: "be careful"
chris107: So the noth end of the bridge simply leads down to this ledge?
Smon: Moffet reaches the west end of the ledge and turns the corner, looking north. He sees a broad, well-travelled tunnel that runs north 100' or so then turns east.
chris107: ah!
chris107: perfect
Smon: Are you all heading north?
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 1,
joriandrake: (we might have found another way in not used by us earlier)
DESTROYERBILL: yes
joriandrake: yes but moffat is ahead of us scouting
chris107: OOC are we all happy with where we are or shall I post an updated map?
Smon: GM: As you head up the ledge, suddenly you see a flight of winged lizard-things, like small dragons, come flying along the chasm from the east, about 30' above you.
joriandrake: (as long you folks understand the location its fine with me)
Smon: About a dozen of them, bigger than Shieldbiter, they seem to pay you no heed but are descending towards the water, as if hunting for fish or other subterranean river life?
joriandrake: "might not be agressive?" Prisha watches them with some nervousnes
joriandrake: "Maybe they found something we didn't notice?"
Smon: They sweep west out of sight.
DESTROYERBILL: i might be able to talk to them
Sandor Sunneson: head on??
DESTROYERBILL: what couler were they
chris107: Moffet hides in the shadows close to the south end of the well trodden corridor while his friends arrive.
joriandrake: (worth a try, low chance they were your color anyway)
Smon: The flying reptiles - https://3c1703fe8d.site.internapcdn.net/newman/gfx/news/hires/2016/10-newspeciesof.jpg
DESTROYERBILL: so not dragons
joriandrake: (oh, not dragons)
chris107: very nice indeed.
Smon:
joriandrake: "resemble bats"
Smon: Big bats... You congregate at the south end of the tunnel and head north, Moffet sneaking ahead.
chris107: (My pal Adrian rolled a Monk way back in the 70's when we still used 3d6 in order. A real achievement. He was killed by a Pterydactyl crossing a chasm bridge when he was still first level )
DESTROYERBILL: look out for the mother
joriandrake: With them not showing threathening movements Prisha continues down the path Moffat disappeared to
Smon: It turns east for about 50' then north again, and you see dim reddish light ahead from the Great Cavern!
chris107: ?????
DESTROYERBILL: is it a camp or an artifact
chris107: I better post my map then
joriandrake: "well, if you want to sneak ahead more, I suppose you better get some magical boost"
chris107: Because it must be well out!
joriandrake: (make it so)
Smon: Another 60' or so and the tunnel reaches a broad ledge some 150' up on the south wall of the Great Cavern, the fires of the Duergar army camps visible below to N NE and far off to NE.
joriandrake: (I officially lost sight of where we are atm)
Smon: Broad and shallow stone steps wind down east from this ledge towards the cavern floor.
joriandrake: (but I guess our mapper Moffat knows exactly where)
Sandor Sunneson: how many dwarves can be seen??
Sandor Sunneson: approx
Smon: GM: You just followed the tunnel north from the bridge and found yourselves on a ledge overlooking the Great Cavern where the duergar army is.
joriandrake: "I assume counting camp fires helps us more from this distance?"
Smon: There must be hundreds of dwarves, but not enough fires to give an accurate notion.
joriandrake: "...one again, i wish we could jsut flood them all"
joriandrake: Prisha looks around near the edges of the great cavern to look for how deep their position is and if it would be possible to use the underground river against them
chris107: I'm thinking that the river runs east not west?
joriandrake: (perhaps they are like the Netherlands)
Smon: About 50' to your left/west on the cavern floor you make out another of the 30' tall collossal dwarf guardian statues, probably due south of the one SB & S hid behind on your first visit.
chris107: if so then it makes sense
Smon: The river runs west
Smon: The cavern floor is at least 50' above the river, probably more like 80'
chris107: so we were paddling against the current not going with it. I see now.
Smon: yup
DESTROYERBILL: we have the chance to take out a camp here we can suprise them
Smon: >>Smon: Eventually the torrent joins the great north-flowing underground river and you paddle upstream.
Smon: I'm gonna give the boat 2 hp back since Sandor forgot his seamanship bonus
Smon: You paddle for a long time - 2 miles upriver, up the great subterranean canyon, until the river turns east and you see above you the remains of the fallen dwarf-bridge.<< from earlier
joriandrake: "They are probably oo many and their other camps are close so they get reinforcements very quikly"
Sandor Sunneson: Does it look as if they are setting up for the evening?
chris107: (My fault, missed that. But map is going to be fine )
joriandrake: "we should focus on getting closer to either the enemy boss, the hostage, or the artifacts"
Smon: You don't have a clear view, rem your darkvision nominal range is only 60', but there does not seem to be a lot of activity.
chris107: "I agree with Mrs. Prisha. We need to sneak into that temple somehow."
joriandrake: Prisha tries to percieve a path to take to avoid the dwarves and get closer to a target of theirs
joriandrake: "This ledge ghives us an advantage of height and observation, everyone should try look for a path that best avoids enemies and gets us to our goal"
joriandrake: (It's like pathfinding on a PacMan screen)
Smon: You can just make out the front of a great palace(?) in the wall across the cavern to the N-E-N maybe 500' off, a few everburning torches lighting its lower portion, and likewise the collonnaded frontage of a vast dwarven temple at the east end of the great cavern, maybe 700' from you.
joriandrake: "Hmm... if we can get to the temple it likely has the hsotage and some or all artifacts located inside. The palace most likely holds their leader and maybe some or all artifacts"
chris107: Are there dark areas around the perimiter?
joriandrake: (or ruinds, walls)
joriandrake: (ruins*)
chris107: By sticking along the southern wall until we reach the temple will we avaoid notice?
Smon: The stairs that run down east from the ledge to the cavern floor end in the outer fringes of the nearest Duergar encampment, you see a couple tents pitched near the bottom of the stairs, likely for pickets. East of the stairs the cave's south wall runs NE, blocking your view of the portion of the cavern south wall between there and the temple at the east end.
Sandor Sunneson: on phone, still reading script
joriandrake: "We might be able to use some of their own tents, the ones that doN't show light or movement inside to hid away for a moment before continuing to our destination" Prisha ponders
chris107: (I'm going to have to read the description of the cavern carfuly overnight to make the map work, sorry guys.)
Smon: It's all pretty dark. >>By sticking along the southern wall until we reach the temple will we avaoid notice?<< Possibly - just about possible, if you can get down the stairs unseen and deal quietly with any guards at the bottom, then head east along the s wall.
chris107: "Well I think that may be our best bet."
chris107: "Unless you big folks have a better plan?"
joriandrake: "whatever we decide on, the plan will require the quick and precize action of our warriors, so you can decide and I will try to influence the outcome with spells to our advantage"
joriandrake: (Chris is Moffat actually a Rogue class char?)
DESTROYERBILL: lets go with that one
chris107: (A Fighter, Champion.)
Smon: GM: If you keep to the south/inner edge of the shallow 1:2 stairs you will be hidden/unseen until nearly at the bottom.
DESTROYERBILL: you get 3 attacks becouse your level 11
Smon: Are you all heading down the stairs together? Single file is safest to be unseen
Sandor Sunneson: yes
joriandrake: Wait
chris107: Weait
joriandrake: Prisha casts some spells
chris107: "Those in armour that will clatter should stay back a while. Let me creep up and assess their numbers."
joriandrake: Prisha casts Death Ward on herself and Moffat
chris107: "We only get one chance at this."
joriandrake: Prisha also casts Enhance Ability on Sandor
DESTROYERBILL: what does that do
DESTROYERBILL: you might want to use it on shield biter becouse he is stronger
joriandrake: Cat's grace special: advantage on Dexterity & related skills and 20 feet fall ignored
chris107: making the strongest even stronger?
joriandrake: better chance to sneak closer to enemy whacking
joriandrake: (and advantage also on initiative rolls)
Smon: Er, Steelclaw is the one w disad on stealth
Smon: as discussed
joriandrake: will Steelclaw attempt to sneak upon enemies, or stay more behind like prisha?
DESTROYERBILL: we take a small bit of are armour off 1 less point no skeak disadvantage
Smon: I thought plan was for you to ALL sneak?
joriandrake: I think having a blitzkrieg squadron go a bit ahead would be ideal
chris107: No
joriandrake: not ,uch 10-20 fet for them to have a small advantage
chris107: What Jorian said
joriandrake: noöt much*
Smon: >>we take a small bit of are armour off 1 less point no skeak disadvantage<< You & Sandor can do that in half plate, not in full plate like SC
chris107: we only have one chance to sneak up on them.
Sandor Sunneson: back
joriandrake: Prisha is not good at melee, she won't cast a spell on hertself as even if she becomes good at sneaking it isnt much of an advantage
joriandrake: Steelclaw was said to act as new bodyguard I thought, meaniong he would stick to Prisha
Smon: Who is going down the stairs?
joriandrake: this leaves Sandor, Moffat, and Shieldbiter
Sandor Sunneson: Are we sneaking down these stairs single file?
chris107: How many/how big were the tents at the bottom of the steps again pleae?
DESTROYERBILL: what
Smon: Just 2, enough for 6 dwarves each
chris107: This is a shambles
DESTROYERBILL: we can all go if you cast cats grace on stellclaw so he does not get disavantage
joriandrake: so, Moffat, Shiueldbiter and/or Sandor get to go first with the magic vbonus
joriandrake: he wouldn't get disadwantage Bill, true, but that doesn't mean we won't mess up (he and Prisha) the only roll we get
chris107: "12 Dwarves. We must take them out before they can raise the alrm."
joriandrake: That's why I wanted a smaller, hard-hitting advance team
DESTROYERBILL: doesent mean i wont mess up or sandor or mofat
DESTROYERBILL: moffat
chris107: "I know I can take one, maybe two. So I'm no good."
Smon: OK you have been chatting for ages, encounter check...
joriandrake: hm
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 6,
joriandrake: Prisha lets the others decide
Smon:
chris107: Ah well
Sandor Sunneson:
Smon: /roll d100
DESTROYERBILL:
Smon rolls 1d100 and gets: 71,
joriandrake: could be anything
Smon: /roll d2
Smon rolls 1d2 and gets: 1
Smon: /roll 2d6
joriandrake: maybe even attacking the dwarves for a change
Smon rolls 2d6 and gets: 4, 3, = 7
chris107: (Next time we need to appoint a leader.)
chris107: (Because we are getting less than nowhere)
Smon: You notice a large snake slithering onto the tunnel ceiling from the cavern wall.
joriandrake: (well I did cast the death wards, oönly the enhance ability is uncertain)
DESTROYERBILL: i think moffat becouse he is baisecly doing a lot of leadering already
DESTROYERBILL: and he is calm and collected
joriandrake: (I'm fine with that)
Smon: The dark-ringed giant pit viper ignores you, slithering south along the tunnel ceiling.
Sandor Sunneson: Sandor gets ready to blade it
DESTROYERBILL: he knows what to do
joriandrake: (and short and a survivor)
chris107: "Let it go.."
joriandrake: "So... no snake bites, good"
Smon: >>(Next time we need to appoint a leader.)<< Malenn tried to indicate Moffet was leader w/out insulting Sandor & SB but was too polite I guess
Sandor Sunneson: But as it goes past lets it go
joriandrake: "So, Moffat you decide, as a veteran of many battles. Who shall go ahead, and who shall get the enhance ability divine blessing?"
Sandor Sunneson: Sandor is fine by that, of course Maleen would pick Moffat after what SB historically inflicted on Ahyf
chris107: "Well let's use our heads here."
DESTROYERBILL: the more the merryer
joriandrake: (as Bill pointed out Steeljaw would eliminate a disadvantage, but that only matters if he goes too ahead)
Smon: brb tea
chris107: "We have to take down twelve of those dwarves. More than one likely to be bosses."
joriandrake: (however the spell also grants init advantage so a fighter or barbarian can take a lot of advantage of it if not wearing full/heavy plate)
chris107: "But most of all, we have to make sure they don't raise the alarm."
chris107: I'm assuming Prisha does not have a magical silence spell?
joriandrake: (Prisha did cast 8 hour - lasting death ward on herself and Moffat already, considering this slightly emulates orcish or barbarian survivor chances)
*chris107 shuffles through the doorway of the idle Zombie chamber.*
joriandrake: "No silence spells"
chris107: I hope I didn't?
chris107: Okay.
joriandrake: "Why are you a zombie?"
chris107: So we need two fighters on each tent
chris107: If that means stripping down to lighter armour so be it because we have to strike fast
joriandrake: "ion that case I guess Steeljaw will indeed need the spell? Four means he has to go too"
chris107: SB & Steelclaw at one tent Sandor and Moffet at the second.
DESTROYERBILL: its steelclaw not steeljaw
joriandrake: I thought to take out a single tent, as maybe not both are inhabited anyway"
chris107: Single file down the inside of the steps 'till we get close then pounce. Keeping a special eye out for any who try blowing horns etc.
Sandor Sunneson: Sandor gets ready
Sandor Sunneson: yeah, kill the horny ones
Smon: Steelclaw nods. "Kill!"
chris107: We can't risk taking that chance. Prisha need to take down any that try to flee.
joriandrake: "Well, shall I cast the spell on Clawjaw then? It will eliminate his disadvantage to sneaking, but also grant an advantage on many other things, like reflexes"
Smon: Steelclaw nods. "Yes!"
chris107: That would seem best Jorian.
DESTROYERBILL: yes on stell CLAW
chris107: But strip down armour so as not to have disadvantage.
DESTROYERBILL: claw
joriandrake: Prisha nods, and casts Cat's grace on the dragonkin
chris107: Does Prisha have any ranged Cantrips or damaging spells?
joriandrake: "It lasts for a hour, it shall as such last for many battles if we can't avoid those now"
joriandrake: (She does, but is not combat oriented, altho could use things like Confusion)
Smon: GM: You finally set off down the stairs, Moffet in the lead. 300' off stairs brings you down to near ground level... everyone roll stealth, need 10+
DESTROYERBILL: i have a cheese for confusion spells
chris107 rolls 1d20+9 and gets: 1, (+9) = 10
chris107:
Sandor Sunneson: lol
DESTROYERBILL rolls 1d20+7 and gets: 19, (+7) = 26
DESTROYERBILL rolls 1d20+4 and gets: 15, (+4) = 19
joriandrake rolls 1d20+2 and gets: 16, (+2) = 18
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20 and gets: 1,
Sandor Sunneson: lol
joriandrake: (sigh)
Sandor Sunneson: jeez
joriandrake: (add bonuses)
chris107: You couldn't write it, could you?
Sandor Sunneson: Must be contaminated dice in Yorkhire Chris
joriandrake: (if i had cast it on Sandor as planned he would have another roll now o_O)
Smon: As you near the bottom of the stairs you see four Kazadurgar sentries on guard at the bottom... Moffet feels very loud yet they still don't notice him... but they do look up as Sandor rolls an unmodified 1 due to his player not bothering to apply bonuses
DESTROYERBILL: so would steel claw but bad
Sandor Sunneson: would have failed anyway
Smon: They are 60' from you... roll init, need 11+
joriandrake: (test it, roll another d20)
chris107: Perception to spot if any have a horn?
Smon: /roll d20
Smon rolls 1d20 and gets: 17,
joriandrake: (good idea chris)
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20+3 and gets: 8, (+3) = 11
chris107 rolls 1d20+7 and gets: 19, (+7) = 26
joriandrake: init:
DESTROYERBILL rolls 1d20+7 and gets: 16, (+7) = 23
joriandrake rolls 1d20+2 and gets: 11, (+2) = 13
chris107 rolls 1d20+6 and gets: 4, (+6) = 10
chris107: 26 init, 10 Perc.
joriandrake: (Bill you have 2 rolls for Claw on init)
Smon: Moffet doesn't spot a horn
DESTROYERBILL Rolls 1d20+1x2 and gets:
8 (+1) = 9
17 (+1) = 18
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20+3 and gets: 16, (+3) = 19
DESTROYERBILL rolls 1d20+1 and gets: 20, (+1) = 21
Sandor Sunneson: keep forgetting 2nd roll
Smon: You all got 11+ on init right? So you all go first
joriandrake: GM: how many drawves got atm into combat with us?
Smon: state your actions & roll.
Smon: There are 4 dwarves in sight, 30' below you, 60' down the stairs
Sandor Sunneson: Sandor will look to take on the 4 in site
joriandrake: (Bill or Claw goes first I think) thanks, 4 targets atm then
chris107: Moffet holds his action (he can't reach anyway) and follows the faster fighters down
DESTROYERBILL: i dont rage
DESTROYERBILL Rolls 1d20+15x2 and gets:
1 (+15) = 16
9 (+15) = 24
chris107: You three need to get them!
chris107: Kill them fast.
DESTROYERBILL rolls 1d20+9 and gets: 15, (+9) = 24
Sandor Sunneson Rolls 1d20+11x2 and gets:
4 (+11) = 15
19 (+11) = 30
DESTROYERBILL rolls 2d6 and gets: 3, 1, = 4
Smon: STATE YOUR ACTIONS remembering you are 60' away
joriandrake: (Claw can do acrobatic stuf now with a higher success chance due to the magic, in case you want him to climb/jump at or some other 3 musketeer like actions)
chris107: Double move behind the faster fighters.
joriandrake: Prisha holds out to act last inturn after the other companions but before enemies
chris107: "Get in close you lot!"
Smon: If barbarians want to rush them I will allow acrobatics DC 12 to get down stairs & attack in 1 round
DESTROYERBILL rolls 1d20+7 and gets: 8, (+7) = 15
DESTROYERBILL rolls 1d20+4 and gets: 7, (+4) = 11
Smon: OK SB bounds down the stairs into the Kazadurgar & cuts one down.
chris107: "Go Sandor!"
Smon: Steelclaw follows SB down
chris107: Barks the hobbit
Sandor Sunneson: Sandor will go,
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20+9 and gets: 1, (+9) = 10
joriandrake: (good luck on the roll)
Sandor Sunneson: lol
joriandrake: o_O
chris107: OMG
joriandrake: (you really could've used that magic)
Sandor Sunneson: hey ho
DESTROYERBILL: i breath attack
Smon: Sandor trips and goes tumbling down the stairs...
Smon: /roll d6
Smon rolls 1d6 and gets: 6,
DESTROYERBILL rolls 5d6 and gets: 6, 2, 3, 3, 4, = 18
Smon: Sandor takes 6 dmg and lands prone
joriandrake: i hope he rages while rolling down
Smon: lol
Sandor Sunneson: 139/145
chris107: Moffet sees his carfuly drawn up plan crumble to ashes.
chris107: (Moffet should be 10' from the bottom after his double move.
Smon: SB opens his mouth to breathe fire, doubtless alerting the whole camp with the fiery blast... but thinks better of it.
chris107: Behind SB and SC
Smon: Have you all acted?
joriandrake: nope
Smon: What are you doing P?
joriandrake: as swaid, waited until all others did, I guess Moffat did too then
joriandrake: ?
joriandrake: I'm 60 feet from enemy?
Smon: 1 duergar dead. SB at the foot of the stairs, Sandor prone beside him. Moffet 10' up the stairs
Smon: 3 duergar at foot of stairs
chris107: Action surge, move and attack from Moffet?
chris107: Would tht work?
Sandor Sunneson: Sandor will jump up once the proneness ends
Smon: Action Surge just gives an Action but I would allow DC 12 Acrobatics to cover the extra 10' Moffet
chris107: I'll give it a go!
Smon: Sandor has had his go - double moved & fell prone
chris107 rolls 1d20+6 and gets: 3, (+6) = 9
chris107: Crap!
Smon: Moffet narrowly avoids tripping over Sandor as the barbarian tumbles past
chris107:
joriandrake: Prisha acts now, casts Sacred Flame on enems near Moffat, roll Dex save DC 15 for dwarf
joriandrake: enemy*
Smon: Moffet what do you do w your action surge? Still 10' from enemy so could close (move)?
DESTROYERBILL: no dont do that
DESTROYERBILL: it alerts the ene,y
Smon: The bright flame descends...
DESTROYERBILL: enemy
Smon: /roll d20
Smon rolls 1d20 and gets: 6,
joriandrake: (it wont alertt htem more than a tumbling down barbarian
Smon: burning a Dwarf
chris107: @ DM, I'll wait until next round thanks, Simon.
joriandrake rolls 2d8+3 and gets: 7, 3, (+3) = 13
joriandrake: 13 radiant damage
Smon: (OK) SF it's only about 1' across, not a 15' blast
Smon: The burned duergar screams and goes down
joriandrake: prisha steps behind the ledge for extra cover and turn end
joriandrake: (she still concentrates on Cat's Grace for Clawclaw)
Smon: Steelclaw gets to the bottom
Smon: The surviving 2 duergar yell "Alert" and swing picks...
Smon: 1 at SB
Smon: /roll d20+4
Smon rolls 1d20+4 and gets: 4, (+4) = 8
Smon: 1 at Sandor
Smon: /roll d20+4x2
Smon Rolls 1d20+4x2 and gets:
11 (+4) = 15
11 (+4) = 15
joriandrake: still prone?
Smon: yes
Smon: You hear grunts and movement from inside the 2 nearby tents. The rest of the camp doesn't seem alert yet.
chris107: (are we finishing at 10 by the way?)
Smon: R2 - your goes
Smon: Aim for 10pm yup
joriandrake: "It might not be too late, if we can get rid of them now it might still be a salvageable plan" Prisha hopes
chris107: Moffet darts in stabbing at them.
chris107 Rolls 1d20+11x3 and gets:
11 (+11) = 22
3 (+11) = 14
11 (+11) = 22
Smon: AC 16
chris107 rolls 1d6+9 and gets: 6, (+9) = 15
chris107: one dead
Sandor Sunneson: Sandor will attack if not prone anymore
chris107 rolls 1d6+9 and gets: 5, (+9) = 14
chris107: hopefully two
DESTROYERBILL: i attack
joriandrake: (I think getting up uses half your turn's movement)
Smon: Moffet stabs 2 duergar dead
DESTROYERBILL: if i can
Smon: No duergar in sight now
joriandrake: "Quick! to the tents!"
Sandor Sunneson: Sandor will head to the tents and attack
Smon: Sandor stands groggily enters the nearest tent (about 15' away) running into 4 angry duergar...
Smon: Sandor roll to hit
joriandrake: "maybe cut the tent staff to make the whoel thing fall on top of them?!"
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20+11 and gets: 2, (+11) = 13
Smon: miss
joriandrake: (not an 1!)
Sandor Sunneson: lol
chris107: (The dice have not been with us tonight )
Smon: Is Shieldbiter going in same tent, or the other one?
DESTROYERBILL: the other one
Smon: Sandor has 2 attacks, 1 left
joriandrake: go go gadget o-sword
Smon: SB races into the further tent, followed by Steelclaw, both dragonborn needing to duck low - inside 4 angry female duergar warriors shriek and raise weapons
Smon: Bill roll for SB & SC
joriandrake: (Stallcalw can still use acrobatic scenes)
DESTROYERBILL: init
Smon: Fergus you can do your 1 attack
Smon: roll to hit
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20+11 and gets: 6, (+11) = 17
joriandrake: yay
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d8 and gets: 6,
Sandor Sunneson rolls 2d6 and gets: 4, 1, = 5
DESTROYERBILL rolls 1d20+15 and gets: 7, (+15) = 22

joriandrake: Prisha sneaks down the stairs to go after everyone who rolled or jumped down
Smon: Prisha daintily descends to the foot of the stairs
Smon: She hears sounds of battle from the nearby tents
joriandrake: As she sees the enemies are eliminated she checks the nearby corpses and also tells the others "See if they have anything useful, then we have to quickly continue"
Smon: Moffet is standing over dead Duergar, bloody sword in hand
Smon: LOL
joriandrake: (oh, i thought all are dead by now)
Smon: OK duergar turn
chris107: Yhere are live ones in Sandor's tent

Smon Rolls 1d20+4x2 and gets:
11 (+4) = 15
5 (+4) = 9
joriandrake: ok, in that case Prisha checks the corpses outside the tent near the stairs
joriandrake: (not having to roll for stuff now, jsut to note due to timing of events and such)
Smon: The third raises his hammer and bashes an alarm gong, the sound echoes out only slightly muffled by the tent.
chris107: "Stop that last one Prisha! He could raise the alarm!"
chris107: and there he goes!
chris107: Why rob when there are live Swarves?
Smon: After attacking Sandor the 2 duergar rush out of the ten t - Sandor can roll a free attack on 1
joriandrake: (I am outside the tent, Prisha can't see anything, neither that gong)
Sandor Sunneson rolls 1d20+11 and gets: 4, (+11) = 15
Smon: miss
joriandrake: (and not stupid enough to go near them while melee goes on)
chris107: (they are 13HP dwarves!)
Smon: R3
Prisha sees one of the dead duergar has a horn at his belt. Moffet and Prisha see the 2 duergar come running out of the tent - they see M & P
joriandrake: (as agreed about, if any tries to flee Prisha wil lattempt to take them out)
Smon: /roll 2d6
Smon rolls 2d6 and gets: 3, 2, = 5
joriandrake: then attack on one of them
Smon: and snarl, advancing heroically to battle!

joriandrake: its dead Jim
chris107:
chris107: Moffet likes to make sure.
Smon: no you can't decide to allocate crits like that, they go in order - but luckily your regular hit did 13 anyway
chris107:
Smon: As it goes down P finishes it w sacred flame
chris107: Kust the gong basher left then?
Smon: Sandor - you are in a murky tent with a duergar loudly bashing alarm gong
joriandrake: Seems like it
joriandrake: Go inside, help him
Smon: (yup)
Sandor Sunneson: I'll attck

Sandor Sunneson: dwarves, not people
chris107: Moffet strains his ears to see if further alarms have been raised.
joriandrake: Prisha rolls her eyes. "I see dead, bearded and short people"
chris107:
Smon: You hear a few duergar yells in the distance from the tents a ways off on the cavern floor, but they don't seem as alerted as when you assaulted the walls; if you run east fast you would have a good head start and might make the palace?
joriandrake: "now quickly, lets loot anything usable and continue"
DESTROYERBILL: i liked the refrance
chris107: "Leave the loot, move!"
DESTROYERBILL: no we run qiuk
Sandor Sunneson: Sounds like a good plan, head on
chris107: "Get to the temple, now!"
joriandrake: (OK, Prisha leaves the other corpses, GM decides what she could have looted until this moment)
Smon: GM: Moffet yells, getting his squad together, P could grab the alarm horn she spotted
joriandrake: she will, if its easy to grab
Smon: Any more looting by P will be a delay
Smon: Yup, you can pull it from his belt
joriandrake: She does that then, could still be useful
joriandrake: then goes after the others
Smon: GM: Then the 5 amigos dash east along the shadow of the cavern wall, away from the scene of carnage....
chris107: Moffet leads the way, plans to lead the Drugr off with their own alarm horn forming in his head.
Smon: OK will do XP and stop there
chris107: Phew!
joriandrake: "I found a horn, we could use it to make false alarms for distraction later"
chris107: Thanks Simon, guys!
joriandrake: great
joriandrake: to note: Prisha still concentrates on Cat's Grace, as the npc could still benefit of it the next session
Sandor Sunneson: Thanks Simon, got there despite the 1s rolled
chris107:
Smon: each of you get shambler 400 + exploration 700 + duergar 300 + quest 500 = 1900 xp
joriandrake: okay
chris107: nice
Smon: Quest award was for finding a viable route & actually doing plan (eventually)
chris107: See you all later. Jorian in Bochigame tomorrow. Have a great week
joriandrake: and fumbling it
joriandrake: likewise, bye all
