Smon: Asking around, Moffet Manglemaimer is told the Queen resides mostly at the East Keep, but today is holding court at the Town Hall as some distinguished visitors are in Ahyf - a great Dragonborn Lord from Nerath and the high priestess of Meroya, a love goddess.

Smon: Moffet spots a full sandwich tray wielded by a passing maid.

joriandrake: "Well this good man doesn't look like those things from the sewers so I dare to say there is no danger of him being undead. ALso, those don't eat sandwitches" She smiles and slightly nods towards the newcomer

Smon: Three guards burst in led by the fat one, red-faced and panting, his helmet askew. "My Queen! I do apologise..."
joriandrake: Prisha watches the unfolding events with curiosity
chris107: “Yes! She was tied to a stake waiting to be eaten by a Dragon when I met her of course. “
Smon: Malenn waves the guards away. "This one is ...a guest." She regards Moffet curiously.

Smon: Sjt Hendryk steps forward. "My Queen? The Captain's report?" Maleen nods. "Yes..."

chris107: He munched on the tasty snacks enjoying the surroundings and telling anyone who will listen about how he rescued Mrs. Queen.

Smon: Malenn: "We have heard that the Kazadurgar - evil dwarves of the Underdark - seek to gain control of a terrible power in the ancient dwarf hold of Maugraign's Hall, deep beneath the hills. With it they could threaten Ahyf - perhaps beyond. They have kidnapped one of my citizens, and plan to sacrifice her in fulfilment of their dark ritual. They must be stopped!"
Smon: Malenn sees that Moffet has wandered over to the buffet, and addresses Shieldbiter and Prisha. "Mistress Prisha, you aided us against the Darakhul last year. Lord Shieldbiter, your strength is legendary. Will you aid us again?"
Smon: brb tea

DESTROYERBILL: okay
joriandrake: "Of course I will, happy to help... but I will need a few good warriors between me and those dwarves. I prefer not to die once again. My time isn't here yet for the great wheel of reincarnation." She shighs. "Is it certain they plan to sacrifice the missing person? How was all this information gained?"

Smon: Malenn smiles up at Shieldbiter. "I know you will!"

Smon: She turns to Prisha. "A few days ago Lord Sandor returned to Ahyf from a scouting mission - with a Kazaurgar captive. He has been quite forthcoming."
Smon: Esmalia is rocking the sleepy baby.
Smon: She catches Prisha's eye, looking concerned.
joriandrake: She returns her gaze to the queen "I see, Sandor and his men would be a boon to such a mission"
joriandrake: "I can prepare healing and divine blessing spells for them. I do have material for revival, but it won't help anything if I am the one needing it"
Smon: Malenn: "I know you are a priestess of love, not war, Mistress Prisha. My men will protect you with all their might..." She follows Prisha's gaze to her newborn daughter, and smiles. "She looks the same age as my little Meda!"
joriandrake: "If even ghouls were clever enough to attack a cleric first, I assume underdark dwarves also have their own tactics and head on their shoulders"
joriandrake: Prisha smiles at that remark
Smon: Malenn nods to Prisha. "We will need to ensure you are well outfitted and protected..."
joriandrake: "Perhaps we can let them later play together, although that needs a bit more time"
Smon: Father Camus: "The trick, mistress Prisha, is to stay well back and employ the Healing Word."
Smon: Malenn: "When they are a little older, of course!"
joriandrake: "The priority still needs to be the warriors and scouts on this mission." She then looks at Camus "Probably, but the enemy can still rush besides the fighters if there aren't enough, like last time i nthe sewers. Ranged weapons I assume are also likely to be used by those dwarves"
Smon: Hendryk nods. "The Captain reported they had crossbows."
joriandrake: She looks at the halfling eating the sandwitches "Would he also go with us? I don't know his skills but surviving a battle with a dragon takes luck or skill, likely both"

Smon: Hendryk: "I would suggest a small force who can be stealthy - use Goggles of Night to pierce the darkness and approach unseen."
joriandrake: "I doN't know much about this underworld dwarves or the location, is a big settlement of theirs nearby?"
Smon: Hendryk turns to Moffet. "Apparently ...all of them."

Smon: Malenn nods gravely. "According to Sandor's captive, three great clans of the Kazadurgar have united in a holy crusade under their prophet, the High Priest Khand. There are many hundreds, at least."
joriandrake: "A small force is good for stealth, but if found enemy is encountered the battle will be harder. A large force would be easy to spot so I assume a balance in-between is required. Preferably all members of the group a specialist and -or- veteran" Prisha ponders. "Especially if that is an important location for them it will be almost impossible to remain hidden for the whole time below and battle might not be possible for us to avoid"
Smon: Hendryk: "Apparently these Deep Dwarves live beneath the hills, unseen by the world of Men... "

joriandrake: "I gave my opinion, but I don't dare to decide on military matters. We also have to consider how wide and tall their tunnels, buildings might be"
Smon: Malenn nods to Prisha. "I have considered this. There are two options - that we attack their army, or that we prevent them from achieving their goal. Apparently they seek lost artifacts within Maugraign's Hall for the ritual. If we could gain them - and perhaps deal with Khand... their army may disperse."

joriandrake: Prisha considers this "If we take away the artifacts they require for the ritual it will stop them fro mthe sacrifice, but then the risk is that they might decide the hostage is not worth to live anymore... If we could spare the resources two smaller groups might be wise, each with a goal of these two"

Smon: Malenn: "If you are willing, I would like you to venture to Maugraign's Hall, avoiding the bulk of the Kazadurgar army, and see what you can find. Hendryk and myself will ready our forces here, should battle become necessary."

Smon: Hendryk to Prisha: "The girl should be rescued, of course... poor thing, kidnapped on her wedding night. But the Kazadurgar could always seize another captive."

joriandrake: She nods "It doesn't seem enough to just do one of the two things. There might be further artifacts or other means to replace their use too"
DESTROYERBILL: to wear down their forces and we can replenish at the same time
Smon: Malenn nods. "A good tactic against a larger force, Lord Shieldbiter."

chris107: In narrow tunnels they will struggle to bring their numbers to bear
joriandrake: Prisha stays silent for a minute hearing Shieldbiter "Yes, their forces might be fully occupied with us then, but what of their clergy and the ritual? They might pull that ahead of time to kill the hostage while we are being kept busy in battle"
chris107: Says Moffet between yummy mouthfuls
Smon: Malenn nods to Prisha. "We know little of their dispositions. It may be there are opportunities within the Hall. You may wish to return here after learning more."
chris107: Or sacrifice her and complete the ritual while we give battle.
chris107: Moffet tried and see both sides
joriandrake: "If we can onyl do one of the two, the artifact stealing might be wiser. I say this with heavy heart as the hostage may already be dead when we arrive, but the artifacts would be with us which should delay more sacrifices, and if I can get a 500 gold worth diamond I can revive the hostage up to one week from death"
DESTROYERBILL: the thing is they must have to do other things since they havent done the sacrafise yet
chris107: Aye a little scouting may give us the information we need to better achieve our goals
Smon: Malenn: "If you can, I suggest you first rescue the girl - and kill the dwarf Prophet, if possible. That should disrupt their plans."
Hendryk looks sceptical. "That will alert them to the threat, my Queen."
