ca 25/8/47 - Cmdr Sandor & Queen Malenn in the throne room at Ahyf (500 XP)

Queen Malenn
25/8/47: Malenn has already recruited some Paladins of Mitra and begun training a cadre of Battle Brothers.
Smon: She reminds Sandor it's his job to train the Guard.
Sandor Sunneson: That's fine, and he can take the paladins and new guards through the same physical training
Smon: She also wants him to go through the Ghinarian Hills and
Smon: get their Lords' Alliance on side, maybe even have them pledge to her cause.
Sandor Sunneson: Sandor will also tell Maleen the message from Prisha that the King of Carchamesh and his daughter were held under a spell (22/8)
Sandor Sunneson: Hmmmm CHA rolls
Smon: "The leader of the GLA (:D) is Lord Kaldrac of Verius, please talk to him once you have attended to Clenderi."
Smon: "The Lords respect you as Hakeem's man, and a great hero who fought Borritt Crowfinger at Bisgen - twice!"
Smon: "Kaldrac respects strength... he also likes his slave girls but sadly we can't give him any." She grins.
Sandor Sunneson: I will go and see them
Smon: "Unless one of the Coin Girls fancies volunteering..." Malenn gets a thoughtful look...
Smon: "He'll respect you. If you can find a pretty face to wow him with too, so much the better."
Sandor Sunneson: Maybe we should slavery again now Hakeem has gone upstairs he'll say sarcastically
Smon: "There's nothing we can do about Carchimish, I think. Best leave them alone?"
Sandor Sunneson: I'm joking your ladyship, I guess Koloth and the Princess will be at the Coronation
Sandor Sunneson: Ironic he is now King, at least he listened to my speech what I said to him
Smon: >>Maybe we should slavery again now Hakeem has gone upstairs he'll say sarcastically << Malenn rolls her eyes and smiles. "Not after all the trouble we went through to end it! I tend to agree with Lady Meda, it's an evil that should be stopped."
Sandor Sunneson: I agree totally, hopefully we can spread the word of this as time continues and leave it as a lasting legacy
Smon: >>Ironic he is now King, at least he listened to my speech what I said to him<< Malenn nods. "Sounds like you put some fire in his gut!"
Smon: >>hopefully we can spread the word of this as time continues and leave it as a lasting legacy<< Malenn nods, looking serious. "If we move carefully, I believe we can accomplish much. The Nerathi Empire never had many slaves, outside of Ghinarian territory at least. There are few in Hara. The Bronzes might be more amenable than you'd think!"
Sandor Sunneson: I shall go to the Lords Alliance, is it worth waking Dyson up for the war against the Skandiks? He could be of use in regards to troop movement
Smon: "But they won't want to anger potential allies, any more than we do. Perhaps laws restricting the slave trade, stopping enslavement and such would be a good first step."
Sandor Sunneson: Assuming the war happens, but in preperation. Or maybe that could be requested via the Bronze's
Sandor Sunneson: True, start off with banning child slaves and the elderly
Smon: "Maglor tells me the Bronzes are already off to wake him for Namelin's coronation."
Sandor Sunneson: Excellent, our own spywork coming together, glad Maglor listened to me
Smon: "Hmm... if you want to stop by Dyson's Delve while you're at the Lighthouse, that might not be a bad idea."
Smon: Malenn smiles at mention of the spy network. "Barbara... Lady D'Ashe... has proven most helpful. We are becoming friends, I think."
Sandor Sunneson: Ok, so Lighthouse, Dyson's Delve and Verius.
Smon: Malenn nods. "All conveniently close together! Take a couple good horses. We still have three of Hakeem's elven steeds the prince of Onhir gave him."
Sandor Sunneson: I guess we all have histories Maleen, she wasn't doing anything illegal even though it was morally illegal
Smon: Malenn nods, looking slightly grave. "Yes, well... I was enslaved for a time, you know, by Tsamar the pirate - sold to Aldo Redeye in Selatine. I have no love for slavers. But she was only a slaver's woman."
Sandor Sunneson: I was also going to ask you, as you know if Clenderi gives birth to a boy, she will hand him over for upkeeping, do you think he could be a sort of brother for your boy?
Sandor Sunneson: I get the feeling she took advantage of me and had this planned did Clenderi.
Smon: Malenn smiles delightedly, eyes lighting up. "That would be wonderful! Let me know when you return - I think they nurse even the boys, now, so she'll keep the babe a while either way."
Sandor Sunneson: Not that I'm complaning, it was a nice welcome to the Wilderlands world he'll say smurkingly
Smon: Malenn grins archly. "No Amazons where you're from?! Of course - how else do you think they reproduce!"
Sandor Sunneson: It could be one of our ways of building bridges with the Amazons, sending our best male warriors over there for diplomatic missions
Smon: She looks thoughtful. "But I sometimes think Laurana must have real feelings for you - not just desire for a child."
Smon: "I'm sure Laurana would appreciate us sending our best breeding stock, as long as we promise to take back the boys..."
Sandor Sunneson: I feel the fates are keeping us apart, I'm not sure she really wants to be Queen, but she's doing it because she sees it as her legacy
Smon: Malenn looks thoughtfully around the throneroom.
Smon: "It's funny... I never thought about being queen. Not a real queen. I dreamt of restoring Mitra's Shield Hall, but I never thought of me leading it. But this... this feels right."
Smon: She shrugs. "Maybe Laurana is the opposite. She was desperate to be Queen. And now ...?"
Sandor Sunneson: I knew she was uncomfortable about me becoming leader at Carchamish, it was in her body language,
Smon: (brb)
Sandor Sunneson: I'm signing off 2215
Sandor Sunneson: ok
Smon: ok
Smon: "I expect she didn't want you marrying a Carchimishi princess. Perhaps, given the fate of her last two husbands, she
Smon: worried about your wellbeing!"
Sandor Sunneson: Possibly, I'm not sure how she'll react to her Brother's departing either
Sandor Sunneson: He was very incistent on her ruling
Smon: Malenn eyes Sandor. "Hm. No. Me neither. But..."
Smon: Malenn looks out the window. "As far as the world is concerned, Divine Hakeem has returned to the Celestial Realms, there to watch over us."
Smon: There is a faint edge of bitterness in her voice. "And who is to say that is not true."
Smon: Malenn turns to look squarely at Sandor.
Sandor Sunneson: It's probably the best option for everyone, his weakness is there was no compromise.
Sandor Sunneson: We could not have fought Hara and the Skandiks on 2 fronts
Smon: "Sandor... I am going to need you very much, in the months and years to come. You are no politician or courtier, but you have a strong hand and a good heart. Two things in very short supply."
Sandor Sunneson: I will be here for you, I have no intention of going anywhere
Sandor Sunneson: We have Maglor too, the 2 of us have worked very well together
Smon: Malenn nods gratefully. "I don't want you to feel shackled here - and there is evil to fight, missions to do, all over these lands. But please, always come home."
Smon: "Maglor is very... efficient." She smiles. "He has greatly helped our position."
Sandor Sunneson: Thank you, I will
Smon: Malenn nods. "Thank you."
Smon: She grins playfully. "Plenty of time to visit Queen Laurana!"
Sandor Sunneson: I have never really felt at home anywhere here so far, so thank you for those kind words,
Sandor Sunneson: Well I'm sure there will be various Princesses at the Coronation too.
Smon: Sat on her throne, Malenn seems more alive than Sandor has seen her in months, since before she left the green grass of Lady Meda's Thusia.
Sandor Sunneson: He'll smirk
Smon: Malenn smirks back. "You're incorrigible!"
Smon: She leans closer, as if to share a confidence.
Sandor Sunneson: We should build a memorial to the town guardsman who died in the Black Market too
Smon: Stops.
Smon: "Yes... and more than that, when you return, we must deal with the ghouls - the Darrakhul - once and for all."
Sandor Sunneson: It'll be hard for us all going forward, but in some ways the shadow of your Husband not over us and doing what he wanted us to do will take us on a different path
Sandor Sunneson: Maybe we could set a trap for him to come out?
Smon: Malenn nods sombrely. "Yes. I don't know what the future will bring. But if we face it together, by Mitra we'll have a fighting chance!"
Smon: "Yes - I'll ask Maglor and Sjt Hendryk to come up with some options. Thank you, Sandor. Safe journey."
Sandor Sunneson: Sure Maglor will have an idea too, and hit him with clerical banishment spells,
Sandor Sunneson: Thank you Ma'am, father hood awaits
